Ginger Greek yoghurt - must be one of the best things with the ginger and calcium! My breakthrough is this is my fifth night in a row eating normal dinner and not just a couple of fork fulls. MS definitely easing a bit.

Great to hear appointments are going well. I Had 12 week scan today and all well. We have a real wriggler jumping all over! Could also see him/her opening & closing his mouth, amazing really.

Off to bed now , well it is 8.30pm after all ;)

thistlelicker · 15/10/2013 20:45

One is a wishing the other sounds a train lots get confused! I just don't see why ppl wud listen if not trained. Sorry

Flixy102 · 15/10/2013 20:54

No need to be sorry, just a difference of opinion Smile

impatientlywaiting · 15/10/2013 21:06

Yay congrats Minions. Glad you had a good scan.

Flixy if we are making confessions I bought a doppler too. It should arrive tomorrow. Confused

Vikks · 15/10/2013 21:13

McRedHead So sorry to hear your bad news Thanks Love to you and your family

Vikks · 15/10/2013 21:19

Congrats on all your lovely scans ladies, the photos are amazing.

I've got a doppler from when I had DS but I didn't manage to hear his heartbeat until I was 16 weeks. It was brilliant and reassuring to have. I will definitely be using it again!

rebeccax2 · 15/10/2013 21:56

flixy you've just, erm, inspired me to get one too. Ordered!

I want the reassurance.

Flixy102 · 15/10/2013 22:03

Oh dear, I hope I haven't started anything! lol

LongTailedTit · 15/10/2013 22:33

Ha - I've been thinking about getting one for ages, haven't got around to it yet, as have been searching eBay for cheapy second hand ones... Blush

I loved hearing DSs heartbeat when the midwife came, just like galloping horses, would have been so nice to hear it more often!

I have my 12wk scan on Friday, still feeling sick so fingers crossed that means all is still well.

11+2

randdom · 15/10/2013 22:49

I am currently trying to decide I should get a Doppler once things are a bit more certain. I have been taught how to use them through work so I figure using it on myself would be the same. I'm just not sure it is worth the money

moominleigh94 · 15/10/2013 22:50

So many 12wk scans this week. Feeling a bit more confident about mine :) thanks guys. I love this thread, don't know what I'd do without you all Blush

Things have exploded with my housemate. She's put up a status complaining about how we should all not socialise in the kitchen - our only place to socialise - when she has work to do, because she wants to do it in the kitchen and not her room. Our French housemate has some friends around and they're sat in the kitchen catching up and eating pizza, he wouldn't have room for them in his room so of course he has every right to be in the kitchen, but she's complaining about it (she complains about everything, to be fair).

Everyone's going on there supporting her and me and my best friend have piped up and said it's not fair to drag it onto Facebook when she hasn't spoken to us about it; it's a shared student house and she can't just expect us all to clear out when she wants the kitchen to study in.

Minions · 16/10/2013 06:43

Moomin sorry you're having a rough time with your housemates. I remember those days well! And we didn't have Facebook to add fuel to the fire...man, I must be old

I know it's hard but let it wash over you and focus on today, I'm sure you'll get on great and then you won't care about silly people! Let us know how you get on, fingers crossed for you :)

dobedobedo · 16/10/2013 06:47

It's lovely to hear good scan news on here. Grin

Moomin your housemate sounds like a pain in the arse! Are you going to stay there when baby arrives?

I'd get a doppler too if I could trust myself not to get all neurotic about it! But I know I'd have it out all the time and if I couldn't hear a heartbeat I'd panic.

Been awake since about 5am this morning. That's what I get for going to bed at 7pm I guess! Thinking about midwife appointment yesterday. What if the reason my uterus is larger than expected isn't because I'm further on that I think? What if it's twins?! I might actually faint if that's the case.
She's going to see if she can get me an earlier scan now. Fingers crossed!

grainofrice · 16/10/2013 07:16

hello!!!

I had an early scan yesterday and am now 7 plus 5 which means that I'm just about squeezing into May with you lovely ladies!! Due on the 30th- though suspect this one is likely to be a June Bug with a date like that!!!Grin

BananaHammocks · 16/10/2013 07:27

I've got my booking appointment on Friday, excited but nervous!

Glad to hear I'm not the only one with a BMI over 30, mine is 33, what has the midwife said about your weight during booking appointment if you have a high BMI? It's the main thing I'm worried about! I thought I would lose weight while TTC as thought it would take longer being overweight (ok, ok, obese), apparently not!

When did you all find out when your scan would be? Did the midwife tell you at your booking in appointment or did you get a call/letter afterwards?

how many weeks days were you when you had your booking appointment and scan? Just wondering what the average is? I was meant to have my booking appointment yesterday at 8+4 but I already had Friday booked off work so am having it then when I'm 9+0.

impatientlywaiting · 16/10/2013 07:35

Banana I had my booking in appointment at 8+5, and then got my letter about my scan date at 11+3 (but is been a bit impatient before that and called the hospital for the date.)

Cupcake1985 · 16/10/2013 07:46

Woo hoo 8 weeks today! Raspberry baby. Omega three tablets are giving me a weird taste thing now. It's like burping a weird metallic fish. Lovely.

Moonin when I was a student it was like that. Little notes left around the house and fallings out and ganging ups. Good times. Just speak openly and honestly in a non raised voice way and look unbothered about it all. Then it will blow over. She's being silly so just say I'm sorry but I don't agree, this is a shared kitchen and it should be for socialising - I'm afraid we'll all have to study in our rooms. Simple.

thistlelicker · 16/10/2013 08:07

I'm 11 today I got scan and appt at the same time!!! I'm too early for nuchal test so will prob just have quad test when I'm that far! If I get that far!! Not slept a wink

moominleigh94 · 16/10/2013 08:26

Banana I'm not sure what my BMI is, but midwife didn't mention my weight... so I'm probably not best equipped to answer your question Blush

dobe no chance in hell Grin if scan is all ok tomorrow, we're going straight to the housing partnerships in town (they have ones specifically for young parents, helping them find and maintain rented accommodation rather than those sheltered housing things) and asking about going on the council list too. If we can't do that, we'll private rent anywhere that's happy to have families. If she's whining about French guys eating pizza in the kitchen, imagine what she'll be like about a baby crying at night!

12+1 :)

dobedobedo · 16/10/2013 08:37

banana If your bmi is 35 or over you have to take asprin, extra folic acid and be under shared care with a midwife and obgyn. They watch your weight closely as it can cause health problems for you or baby.

I meant to get the midwife to weigh me and recalculate my bmi as I've lost a stone since finding out I was pregnant but I figure everything helps anyway. Thankfully the chances of me overeating are NIL right now as I can barely keep any food down with all the puking. Midwife wasn't a bit concerned about not keeping food down. It's water that counts at the minute.

impatientlywaiting · 16/10/2013 08:47

Good luck for the scan thistle. What time is it on?

impatientlywaiting · 16/10/2013 08:47
