What's SCH? Yep an echo is an ultrasound. I honestly don't realise I'm doing it but having only ever been pg and had a baby in the Netherlands sometimes I can't find the right words in English. Bleeding was red and steady throughout last Tuesday, then slowed Wed/Thurs and was more brown than red. A few more spots over the weekend and now nothing.

I have been driving dh crazy this evening with symptom spotting and what ifs. Still getting positive pg tests but of course, doesn't mean anything as could take weeks for hcg to leave my system.

All I can do iswait till Thursdzy and at least then I'll know one way or the other.

Anyway take it slow as with SCH that is what Drs advise here. SCH can get worse with increased activity or heavy lifting so they recommend here to take it easy. Some women with large SCHs close to baby go on bed rest. They are very common. I had one with my DC1 in first trimester and ran to EPU with bleeding (I was 6 or 7 weeks) and they told me I had a SCH.

TinyTear · 22/10/2013 19:56

Fingers crossed firmly for you all who are due scans. I hope there are good news.

I'm not sure strong is the right word but just stupidly independent.

LadyGoneGaga · 22/10/2013 22:03

Just sticking my head in from the other June thread, just to say I really hope you get good news on Thursday Engels. What a roller coaster of emotions for you. FWIW I had bleeding with my son which stopped (never explained) and he's now 5. Good luck.

IBelieveInEngels · 22/10/2013 22:11

Thank you ladies. Just have to get through the next 36 hours. Good job I have a full day of teaching tomorrow Grin

Penguinita · 22/10/2013 22:30

Hi all, just wanted to share the good news that my scan all went well, little bean with a heartbeat measuring 8+3, exactly as it should. I think I'm still in shock. I've never made it this far before.

Good luck to carrot tomorrow and engels on Thursday for your scans.

So sorry to hear about the crap you are having to put up with tiny, how insensitive.

excited hope that you are well and it wasn't an ectopic Flowers

CarrotCakeMuffins · 23/10/2013 09:39

Fantastic news penguin. I had been looking out for your post & was starting to worry.

I'm in this afternoon... Will update this evening.

LondonSuperTrooper · 23/10/2013 09:42

Great news Pen

Tigs you've been quiet. I hope that you are OK.

Good luck with your scan Carrot

Nothing new at my end. Still getting up between 2-3am and unable to go back to sleep. I have a deadline at work so I'll try and stick it out with work. If next week is the same I think I'll take sick leave. I'm absolutely shattered & not functioning at all :(

Does anyone know how to get signed sick leave from GP/ midwife?

TinyTear · 23/10/2013 09:44

No idea London, but I want to get a week as well after friday if I need an ERPC I want time to get my head in order

IBelieveInEngels · 23/10/2013 09:51

Good luck carrot. fx for you.

I really can't concentrate at school today. Absolutely shattered. Am being a bit less hands on with my classes (They should always be working harder than me during lesson time anyway Grin )

I want a time machine.

tannyLoo72 · 23/10/2013 09:53

I got one at EPU on Monday. She asked if I needed one, and how long I wanted off. GP should do the same, and it's fine to ask for one. I don't know about mw though. I think it has to be a dr?

LadyGoneGaga · 23/10/2013 09:56

London and Tiny you just need to go and see your GP, talk through the problems and hopefully they will be sympathetic and sign you off. But you can self-certify for up to a week so if you only need a week then do that and you can always see the Doc if you feel you need to extend. My Doctor signed me off yesterday. I've been suffering from awful headaches for a good few weeks (pre-dating the pregnancy) but the pregnancy has exacerbated them to the point I am struggling to function at work. Add a pissy boss and pregnancy hormones and I spent most of Monday afternoon crying in the toilets at work. So she's signed me off for effectively a week and a half to see if that breaks the cycle of stress and headache. If not wil have to see a specialist as not allowed the drugs they would usually give. I haven't told my boss I'm pregnant as for some reason I feel very private about this pregnancy and have only told DH. I did mention to HR though as a protective measure.

Waves at Kat - you may have noticed me around. I'm keeping things on the downlow at the mo as a bit anxious so would be grateful if you don't mention outside of here. Congratulations by the way, glad all seems well so far.

For everyone else I've sort of been lurking here. I'm not a recurrent mc'er but did have one between DS and DD and have Anti-Thyroid Antibodies so taking low-dose aspirin as a precaution. I'm trying to be optimistic but I am still anxious especially as am 35 now and risks of stuff seems to increase a bit. Hope you don't mind me posting.

KatAndKit · 23/10/2013 10:08

Hello ladygonegaga i did notice you whilst lurking on the main June thread, assumed you were keeping it quiet from the rest of the internet. Totally understandable. Congratulations too! Hope your headaches improve soon

CarrotCakeMuffins · 23/10/2013 16:11

Big Smile and a few tears...

Good scan at the EPU this afternoon. Tiny blob with a heartbeat measuring 7+4 so 2 days bigger than expected.

They gave me a photo!

And offered another scan in 2 weeks.

Result all round.

So the good news this week continues after all of last week's bad news.
FX for Engels tomorrow.

Penguinita · 23/10/2013 16:52

Hip hip hooray carrot! I'm so pleased for you!

IBelieveInEngels · 23/10/2013 17:55
