Good Luck Funkky! and buttons & Rox Could be a busy baby day...

Clapham We're lucky that with our DS's as old as they are we do have a few free hours with our OHs in the evening, and that will change in the next couple of weeks. Do you think that might be niggling at your subconscious? There's no way a bloke is going to understand that- they need telling.

In defence of our OHs when they (or we) are working all day long, those couple of hours in the eve are the only time to let the mind wander off and explore useless facts on the internet and relax to the white noise of the TV. I frequently end up giving up on the cr@p film DH is seemingly absorbed in and go to bed to read. At least now there's iPlayer and maternity leave (great combination!)

TBH I'm as bad as your DP- I'm either knitting or on my laptop (MNet/window shopping). 15years together and romance has long disappeared Blush

Pinkforboys · 04/10/2013 10:48

Xpost... Bridget I've just stocked the freezer with some M&S meals (3 for 2 bargain! Hmm) and that's probably as celebratory as it gets!

It will be hallowe'en soon though...and Christmas goodies are already in the shops...(just bought my bro some M&S chocolate brussel sprouts to cheer him up cos he's having a knee op next week)

Flyer747 · 04/10/2013 10:49

Baby is moving Smile had 2 bits of white toast with jam and 2 glasses of cold water I think it approved....No need for assessment unit, thank goodness. I wonder if it was comatosed yesterday as I naughtily had a glass of red wine and a bottle of peroni on Wednesday as we had friends over for a curry, I feel terribly guilty now. It's the most I've drank in one go since getting pregnant.

I will put pic on Clapham it's not the best of the shawl though, will get dp to take another pic later when I'm dressed in it.

One of the reasons I've decided to return to work 70% hours is because I feel I'd go mad stuck at home with dp sat all day/night on his laptop. I miss other adult interaction. And friends yes you see but they are busy with their own families and lives. My best friend complains her dh is the same with the Internet btw.

Anybody else's weight gain slowed down? I haven't really put much weight on these past few weeks which has made me very Smile indeed. The current weight gain stands at 3 stone 4 lbs, it's better than the 4 stone I'd predicted.

Pinkforboys · 04/10/2013 10:51

Oh and Flyer pls post that pic of the shawl. I've had my eye on one in Jigsaw but it's a bit pricey and part of me thinks 'I could knit that', but only if I didn't want to wear it til 2015...

claphammama · 04/10/2013 10:51

I think you are so right pink... I know that our relaxed baby free evenings are counted and I probably want to make the most of these days... definitely true. It's the first baby for him though and I don't think he realises what's going to hit him. He thinks he does but he doesn't... perhaps that's why it's become a problem for me only recently.

And yes, when I worked long hours I was less needy in the evenings as I tented to switch off in my own ways too. I think I'm probably adjusting to being at home now... I wonder if I will make a good SAHM after all :-)
I should cut him some slack too. He has a stressful job and I know how it feels

Thanks for your support wise ladies... and I will drag him to the Woody Allen film tomorrow - totally my film, not his cup of tea.

claphammama · 04/10/2013 10:55

good news about the baby moving flyer!

LOL - how big was your glass bottle of wine? I may have a glass tonight as have had nothing since last Saturday. Had a glass of champagne last Saturday and it tasted divine...

PseudoBadger · 04/10/2013 10:56

Waiting to speak to the registrar as protein in urine and BP still up. Wonder if I'll get to go home.... Trace was great though.

Glad you've had movement Flyer :)

As we live with my parents most evenings are spent having dinner, then both of us looking at our iPhones or my iPad whilst parents watch endless Poirot repeats and then we go to bed at about 9 and watch netflix.... We have no life :(

Pinkforboys · 04/10/2013 11:00

Good news Flyer

Pseudo it sucks that you're back in hospital again. I'm amazed our paths didn't cross yesterday- must have been the only morning you haven't been there!
(Or are you just trying to escape your Parents...??)
Good luck with your results today x

Pinkforboys · 04/10/2013 11:13

Oh wow pseudo I'd lost track on when you were booked in!
I was aiming to sneak around the maternity unit when they're done with me in the MDU so I'm familiar with the Birth Centre and labour ward. I'll have to see if I can find you!

claphammama · 04/10/2013 11:13

chickieno1 · 04/10/2013 11:15

PseudoBadger · 04/10/2013 11:15

Yes to tangfastics!

Pinkforboys · 04/10/2013 11:15

flyer I just want the free bag Blush

I've got me a bag of Haribo Jelly Babies (first thing to be packed!) but my memory from last time was that despite the NCT teacher's promise that a jelly baby reward is perfect after every contraction, I just wanted to throw up. They were however quickly demolished whilst bf the next day...

Yoga teacher has recommended small cakes and non-acidic things that don't aggravate the throat when they come back up again Confused
