Lol toby might be seeing you on the wards haha.
Another big fan of masterchef australia here. I watch most of them from all over the world. One of my fave programs. Prob coz I love food. So jealous of those who've been to Australia! Bet it was amazing x

BandontheFun · 04/10/2013 21:58

Angel Well I can't freak out about that anymore got my pushchair before my 20week scan, Mamas and Papas Urbo ex-display less than a third of the price with carry-cot! :) Freaked out about buying too early, but glad i did way too good an offer to miss and it seemed to be the only one that would fit up my stupidly narrow stairs!

Can't they just have one standard pushchair that does everything u need it to do...way to much choice and the different price points are ridiculous! How much more can a £800 one do that a £150 one can't?

Sultana totally, google has been my best friend in the last couple of months had to put my phone onto private browsing would be pretty embarrassed if anyone seen my history, mainly about Blush discharge! Although way more info out there than u would think!

You are all putting me to shame with this baking chat, I can barely make toast!

BandontheFun · 04/10/2013 22:02

Thanks for the warm welcomes aren't u a lovely bunch!!

Seconding the bra 'aaaaaaah' although I have pretty big boobies so they are getting ridiculous now and kinda need to be contained way more than before!

TobyLerone · 04/10/2013 22:17

I bloody love Bra Removal Time. It's my favourite part of the day. DH's too Wink

extracrunchy · 04/10/2013 22:38

Yup feeling the bra aaaah...

I had to get bra extender thingies yesterday to bump me up a back size or two. Am NOT buying more maternity/nursing bras. They're so frickin expensive! Cup size will last through breastfeeding (if last time is anything to go by) - and got 4 extenders for £4 from Jojo Maman. Bargain!

Spacefrog35 · 04/10/2013 22:46

Sorry you're poorly mrsg but glad you've got some antibiotics. Hope you feel better soon.

Hi band welcome Smile

We've had a good day today. Little man is fairly stable & both DH & I have done nappy changes today. Thanks for all the encouragement & advice with the expressing. It's still weird but it's getting easier and the pump (whilst bloody odd) does help. Have taken to excusing myself to go to the milking parlour which DH thinks is most amusing!

Toothfairy78 · 04/10/2013 23:17

Aah, creative itch has been scratched! Have done a make-it-up-as-you-go-along bread dough with added milk, bananas, sultanas, orange zest, golden syrup, cider vinegar....plonked it in slow cooker with timer switch set for early morn. Can't wait to see how it turns out!

Taking bra off has to be one of the best moments of the day, second only to the moment I put my head down for a little rest after work. I invested in 9 seamless padded bras of various types: Genie, Belvia, TU. Spent around £100 on the lot. Did this after going up a couple of sizes early on and using extenders, then figuring I had better things to do with my time than go bra shopping every few weeks. And it was unlikely I would be running or jumping much so didn't need so much control.

space your tales of expressing reminded me to buy a breast pump today at kiddicare. It came with a storage pot which looked really tiny. How much milk do newborns consume anyway???

i picked up a sponge bathing mat and special offer of terry squares at Mothercare today. It was supposed to be buy one pack get a second half price. At the till it turned into bogof! Just need a bucket with lid and we're kitted up on the reusable nappy front!

Spacefrog35 · 04/10/2013 23:29

tooth from what I can gather surprisingly tiny amounts but they work on a little & often basis! Obviously we're not on typical 'newborn' amounts but for the first day I was getting about 0.2ml every 3 hours. I'm now up to about 5ml every 3 hrs & the midwives reckon milk will come in over the next 36 hours, then apparently I won't know what to do with it all and will probably do between 50 & 100ml every 3 hours. Idris currently has 3ml every 3 hours so I'm just about keeping up with him at the mo Smile

MrsVDB · 04/10/2013 23:33

Ah that's so nice to hear space :)

extracrunchy · 04/10/2013 23:40

Oh Space lovely to hear he's doing so well and eating beautifully. You're doing such an amazing job!

Toothfairy78 · 04/10/2013 23:42

Good to hear you're picking up quickly and keeping up with him space. Sounds like you guys are doing well!

Angelesque · 05/10/2013 04:56

Hooray, it's my now regular "wake-up-at-4.30am-for-no-reason" time! Anyone else started waking up in the middle of the night? For the last week I've been regularly waking up around 4am for an hour for no apparent reason... Weird!

Toothfairy78 · 05/10/2013 05:45

Morning angel!

You got company today. Used to have a regular 2:30am wake up call. This stopped for a few weeks.

This morning I received a 4:30 poke in the bladder and now they got some room it's party time for the! Proper big kicks too for past hour!

OP posts:
TobyLerone · 05/10/2013 06:22

Morning, angel & tooth! Joining you today. Been awake for about an hour. The really painful kicks and pokes have been pretty much non-stop for the past 24 hours or so and I feel bruised on the inside!

I'm so tired :(

space, I was thinking about you when I first woke up. I'm so glad you keep giving us updates. You are doing brilliantly with the feeding and Idris sounds like he's doing really well. It's lovely to hear your news :)

Busy day today -- DH has a driving lesson this morning, then we're going to check out the NCT sale, then we're taking my gorgeous nephew swimming. He's been asking me for weeks and he breaks my heart when he says "peeeeeeeeeeeeese?" (he's almost 2). I think I've managed to persuade DS to abandon the skate park and DD to abandon her ipad in favour of the pool, so it should be fun!

Hope you've all got lovely days lined up :)

BookTart · 05/10/2013 06:57

Morning all! Cats woke me up, so I'm up early too. My nighttime trips to the loo stopped about a week ago (cue minor panic, obviously) but the little cat will never let me sleep past 6.

space - you're changing nappies already! Idris must be doing so well. Lovely to hear from you :)

Today I will be looking strangely at everyone in he nct sale to see if they are toby, and then cleaning my whole house because my niece and nephew are visiting with their (incredibly clean and tidy) mum, and my mum has decided to come too. I am going to make them pick all the apples in my garden because I can't be arsed :)

TobyLerone · 05/10/2013 07:10

:o book. I'll be the one looking dishevelled because I couldn't be arsed to do anything with my hair due to going swimming after. It's at DS' school, so I'm guessing it'll be in the hall?

BookTart · 05/10/2013 07:13

I think it is in the sports hall. I have no idea where that is, so I'll be the one looking lost and dragging an uncooperative tramp DP with me :)

TobyLerone · 05/10/2013 07:28

Oh balls. That's less easy to find. Bigger, though. I'm sure there will be signs!

Naturegirl82 · 05/10/2013 07:43

morning ladies.

So good to hear your updates space. So pleased you are both doing so well.

I slept really well last night. I did have some sharp pains down the side of my bump last night though which worried me but my new body pillow came yesterday so sleeping with that has helped. I did have a little cry last night though. It's been a long week at work and I had the pains in my side and my leg was killing from these stupid bites. And then I went and stepped on a stiletto heel the pup had left in the middle of the floor (my fault for walking around in the dark!) and skinned the bottom of one of my toes. Sad It hurt so bad and on top of everything else I just needed a cry. Still stinging this morning but hoping it won't put a dampener on my day. Off to an outdoor puppy training session this morning then kiddicare this afternoon to look at prams. Think I am finally at the point where I am excited to look for one! That might soon change though but there is a Starbucks there to escape to if it all gets a bit overwhelming! Grin

Good luck at your nearly new sales. Hope you find some bargains Smile

Hope everyone else has a lovely weekend.

AnotherStitchInTime · 05/10/2013 08:07

Space great news about Idris, so glad to hear he is doing well. Well done on the pumping, that sounds like a good amount. When your milk comes in if you get a bit tearful don't worry, it is the hormones and completely normal :)

That reminded me of dd1's paediatrician check when she was newborn. As soon as he pushed her legs up to check her hips she passed her first meconium poo all over his shirt and tie. DH came back in fits, apparently the paed did not see the funny side and his face was a picture Grin

Welcome Band :)

Busy day today, it is my niece's birthday so we are heading to SIL's early to help with kid crowd control and preparation before the party. Niece has decided she wants a Bratzilla doll, which have to be one of the most horrible things I have seen for little girls, but her mum is ok with it, so we will pick that up on the way. Dd1 better not ask for one because they would never be allowed in our house.

Frizz1986 · 05/10/2013 08:27

Morning ladies.
Ah what a nice lie in (my god it's gone 8) I did get up 4 times to pee thru the night which sucked as for the past 3 nights I have made it until 6am. Flu jab today woop woop and then the hairdresser. Dh did the shopping for me yesterday so that was good.

space glad to hear idris is doing so well. It's great news!

Hope people have a fab day and get lots of bargains at the nct sales. Can't believe my nct class starts on Wednesday. Think things are getting very real and I should def start buying the little extras like muslin sqs and a breast pump. (still not sure manual or not tho) At least our cot arrives today.

Can't believe that people have the energy for parties and swimming..... I just want to sit down lol (will not be happening this weekend)

tooth hope the bread turns out well. I love fresh bread and always seem to eat half the loaf as soon as it's cooked!

Sorry for the inside brushing tho ladies. At least babies are nice and active even if they are now waking you up and being a bit of a pain Smile
Atm bubs only seems to kick before I fall asleep and after I wake up or randomly thru the day when I am sat down. Wonder if it's just the placenta position. Am sure things will get more active soon but am only 26+1 and as they don't say to count kicks until 28 as long as I feel a bit each day I am not too concerned.

Right, must get up ready for the needles!

Frizz1986 · 05/10/2013 08:28

Oh and forgot.... Welcome band

chocoloulou33 · 05/10/2013 08:44

Where is the nct sale book & toby? X

Toothfairy78 · 05/10/2013 09:09

frizz up til last night ToothJr pretty had the same kicking pattern as yours. I'm 27+1 today.

Bread is looking good too. Just flipped it over to brown on top. House smells nice Smile.

We're off into London to see Book of Mormon. Might see if we can sneak in a bit of baby shopping or a cheeky squizz round Tower of London. Maybe a burger at Five Guys too, I think someone was suggesting?
