Just out from my scan. Baby measuring at 30+3 and I'm exactly 29 weeks! Shes about 3.5lbs. Going back on 2nd dec to sort birth plan etc with the consultant as I'm hopefully VBAC.

Although I've put on a fair amount of weight I'm not suffering too much. As pregnancy symptoms go I've got off v v lightly so far! Feel bad for those who haven't. :(

treegreen · 21/10/2013 16:37

Hi All, marking place as just found mumsnet.
Due end of January ... how do you decide which group to join.. 1st preg so I'm likely to be late!

26 wks today... and I don't think much of these Hicks contractions... ug!

Angelesque · 21/10/2013 18:15

Hi treegreen! I am 26 weeks tomorrow! 1st preg too so though DD is 28/1 if I was a betting girl I'd say I reckon baby will arrive around 5/2... My wedding anniversary!

alice93 · 21/10/2013 19:10

Toby I'm doing a BA in International Politics :) I was doing a joint honours with French but I had to drop that as there is a requirement to do a year abroad + I can't really take baby and my dp who doesn't speak french! :( Oh well. :)

Sultanajo · 21/10/2013 19:51

Hi ladies!

Welcome to newbies (apologies, cant remember any names)...Blush

frizz what a shame for your DH. Sad

Great news on the GTT results! Grin

I have put on a stone so far ladies and I was overweight before preggers...hoping I dont suddenly pile on a load more....Blush

Well after a knackering weekend of driving 350 miles, full day conference, swimming and swollen feet, had a 30 week scan today. Thankfully his little abdomen is now back within normal parameters and he is all in proportion. Grin Such a relief! He is also head down with his spine facing my left waist, which explains why I have been feeling all kicks on my right....

What I wasnt however prepared for was being advised he is approx 4lbs (at 30 weeks 3 days) and is likely to be between 8-9lbs!!! Ekkkk! Shock

Sultanajo · 21/10/2013 20:01

Meant to say, mrsa that royally sucks! Sad

AnotherStitchInTime · 21/10/2013 20:42

Welcome alice and treegreen :)

Hello angel my due date buddy, 26 weeks tomorrow. You know first babies can arrive early too, my dd1 came at 39+5.

Glad your scan went well sultana, don't worry too much about predicted weight from your scan, they are notoriously inaccurate. He is lying in a perfect position for birth already :)

sarahleanne · 21/10/2013 20:56

sultan congrats on the good scan news! don't panick about the weight guestimate though haha, you don't know what your pushing out at the time anyway so it makes no difference really :) bigger babies are meant to be easier to get out. Both of mine were over 8lbs and i'm only 5ft 2 so didn't expect bigger babies.

welcome to alice helloo!! I was pregnant at uni with my first 5 years ago! scary but exciting times!
welcome to any other newbies too!

frizz sorry to hear about the job. I am seriously keeping my fingers crossed that by the time we are in the last few weeks he will have a lovey secure job :) well done for staying positive!

I had my 28 week midwife appointment today (i'm bang in 28 weeks), measuring at 29 weeks which is fine by me , i'm always over anyway). But, im having a panick because the baby is laying oblique (diagonal kind of and across by belly) but she cant work out which is the head and which is the bum and thinks baby may be breech.
I know he or she has loads of time to turn but the midwife said babies been lying in exactly the same position at every appointment. She said if it hasn't moved in a couple of weeks she's sending me for a scan.
I should add that a c section is without a doubt my worst nightmare ( its the thought of it for me) and now i'm thinking shiiiit baby please frickin mooove haha.

Sultanajo · 21/10/2013 20:57

another thats what the sonographer said too! Amazing! Just hoping the little monkey stays in that position and doesnt decide to flip over....Grin

alice93 · 21/10/2013 21:12

Bluecarrot I'm curious about what you said about your LO measuring bigger.. Is this according to your chart, was it one personalised to you, given after your 20 week scan? My personalised one measures the baby at 3.5lb as well... (I'm 29 weeks today too Grin ). It doesn't necessarily mean a big baby right? Confused

Sultanajo · 21/10/2013 21:35

Thats good to know sarah! Grin My mate had something similar and hers eventually flipped when she was on all fours scrubbing her porch with a toothbrush. She said she felt him do an almighty flip and sure enough he got into the right position! Worth a try? Wink

Angelesque · 21/10/2013 21:45

Hi Stitch! Enjoying 25 +6? Grin

I'm finishing work 2 1/2 weeks before my due date... Hope baby doesn't come too early!! I'm so convinced it's going to be a week late... But then I'm also totally convinced it's a boy!

sarahleanne · 21/10/2013 21:46

I will start crawling around my house in pure desperation in a few weeks then if baby still hasn't moved :) thanks for the tip sultan

Mythreeknights · 21/10/2013 21:52

Just a quick update date from me...ds1 who has this uti reached a sort of crisis point at half two this afternoon, just after I last posted. I was scared shitless and rang the useless nhs24 which got me nowhere as expected. All they care about is are they conscious or could they have meningitis. Anyhow, he seemed to pick up a little, fever dropped from the terrifying 39.2 which it had been at its peak. But, he still couldn't wee. Took him back to gp and ironically at that point he decides to wee and its crystal clear, having had a lot of water go through his system. Take him home feeling like we're through the worst of it, but by half six pm his fever started to creep up, back to 38.4. He then really freaked us out but locking into a ball and shaking uncontrollably, crying out if we even touched his skin, refusing to take his medicine. A gp friend of mine called for an update and I explained he was going downhill again. I described the shivers and she told me to get him to A and E pronto. My husband took him in, they have been there almost two hours now and still only seen a nurse. My gp friend says if sounds like he has septicaemia. I am obviously completely stressed out and have only just pulled myself together. He is in the best place now but I do feel helpless that I am not there. I have ds2 in bed and each time I walk past ds1s bedroom my heart jolts with fear that he isn't ok. Could do with some encouraging hand holding if anyone is on mn. I will post an update as soon as I know what's going on.

Angelesque · 21/10/2013 22:01

Oh knights how horrible for you, and poor little one. I really hope DH calls you soon with good news... As you say DS1 is in the best place for them to sort him out - hope they pull their finger out and get him sorted as soon as possible...

sarahleanne · 21/10/2013 22:05

mythreeknights that sounds so scary! I have everything crossed that your little boy will be ok, i'm sure he will. That's a high temperature he has , poor thing. Sorry if I missed it back along but how old is he?
I rushed to hospital last year with my DD who was just over a year old at the time as she was struggling to breath, turned out she had asthma, bloody shit myself at the time though! HTH here. Please update us when you can, thinking of you and your boy.

TobyLerone · 21/10/2013 22:48

Oh, mythree, how scary for you :(

He'll be well looked after Flowers

Bluecarrot · 21/10/2013 22:48

Polar bear pose for turning baby here

Basically anything that has you on all fours should help. Though I wouldn't be too anxious yet. Still plenty of room to move. I really like the polar bear pose sling with deep breathing.

TobyLerone · 21/10/2013 22:50

Thinking about it, his symptoms sound very like mine when I had pyelonephritis a few years ago. The uncontrollable shivering in particular. I was in hospital for a week, but that was only because the first IV antibiotic they tried wasn't strong enough.

Bluecarrot · 21/10/2013 22:53

mythree v scary for you but hopefully its something that can be gotten under control v quickly. X

alice they said dd1 would be 10lbs. She was 7lb 2oz- tall and skinny. So I'm not overly concerned about bring a week ahead (yet!)

It was a chart in my notes - has her approx 70th percentile- not sure about personalised etc

sarahleanne · 21/10/2013 22:56

thanks blue for the link.im going to sleep on all fours :)
I have an appointment in 3 weeks so I will worry more then if baby hasn't moved as I know its still early days.

extracrunchy · 22/10/2013 00:25

Any news, Mythree? Hope your little guy is feeling better x

alice93 · 22/10/2013 01:04

sarahleanne thank you Smile how did you find the experience of being a student and a mum? (did you continue?) I plan not to take any time off Confused so far, only one lecturer is doubting my ability to do that.. :/

bluecarrot Ah okay, my mum and her mum both had big babies - I'm worried I'll follow suite and have the same birth experience mum had with me! (3 weeks late, 30 hours of labour and forceps! poor her) So this chart is only feeding my worries! If the chart has your height and weight on, on the side, it'll be personalised. If not, it won't have your height and weight information anywhere.

Anyway, I need to go to sleep. can't sleep from watching a "scary" movie

Spacefrog35 · 22/10/2013 02:18

Just dropping in to offer a quick hug to mythree hope they've managed to get him settled and he's better soon.

Thanks
Frizz1986 · 22/10/2013 07:45

mythree sounds horrible. Hope you have had some positive updates and have managed to get some rest overnight. Ds is in the best place for him.
Thinking of you.
