naturegirl have you got a dining chair you can try? i find ours surprisingly comfy when im struggling with the sofa

Bluecarrot · 20/10/2013 21:20

If you are getting a nursing chair eventually, might be worth buying it early?

flyawayblue · 20/10/2013 22:05

Yes I find my new rocking chair the only comfy thing some days. If you are going to get one, I'd get one now. Can be bliss.

I've only put on 3kg so far but I lost a lot in the first trimester and am still sick some days, even at 27 weeks!

Naturegirl82 · 20/10/2013 22:13

I've got a nursing chair (just needs putting together! ) so will give that a go tomorrow. The gym ball helps though as it stretches out the part of my back that is aching. Weirdly it's the top, right by my shoulder blade that hurts (think it's the extra booby and bump weight making me slouch more than normal! ) At least I'm off work this week so can avoid my office chair. also have a pg massage booked in later in the week so that might help too Smile

Frizz1986 · 20/10/2013 22:41

Just a quick catch up after a busy weekend. Can see lots of you have been nice and manic too.
The folks have been up to visit and its been ace. Came up yesterday morning and are back off home tomorrow morning. Took the am off work so i could wave them off etc.
It was great as we went shopping and they got me a fridge full of stuff. Got to have beef and ale pie last night and full on roast chicken dinner tonight. Havent eaten so well in ages!!
Mum got to feel bubs kick and dad saw my belly jumping (he isnt bothered about feeling it)
Its been so so lovely to have some parental time after a manic few weeks.

Dh is still out of work as he didnt get the 2nd job he went for which sucks big time. He was really gutted not getting it. I think he has enjoyed this weekend though, not only because my parents got him some wine and its one of the things that we just cant afford atm.
Think he plans to do more to the nursery tomorrow though and i really cant wait to finish painting so that we can put stuff up and get it ready.

I am still doing ok on the sofa but night times suck. It takes forever to get comfy and it takes forever to get upstairs too. I find myself pulling myself up with the bannister!

Find i am peeing much more now too and only about 3 secs of wee comes out. Could this be a uti? I know they say that if u have one u need to pee loads even though only a bit comes out but how much is a bit? I need to go every 30 mins - 1hr and not much comes out but could that just be because my bladder is so tiny niw bubs is squishing it? Everything is so bloody contradictory in pg!!!

Off to York next weekend for a night away with dh. Using up some rewards points from our wedding to get a hotel and cant wait as it will be our last alone time before jan.

I have put on at least a stone so far and am only 28 + 2 so am aware i will be huge but if i breastfeed as planned i hope a lot of weight will drop off and as i will be getting rid of my car ill have to walk everywhere while dh is out at work (i hope) so thatll help too.

Right time to put the chicken stock in the fridge ready for chicken soup tomorrow and then bed. Zzzzzzzzz...........

BuntCadger · 21/10/2013 00:18

Go popping back again sorry I've been so crap at keeping up. Life is generally manic to the poor tis is first time I've had a second to myself. Finally decorated kids room in a weekend and built bunkbeds... And yet here I am I bed with them either side of me asleep, and baby playing acrobatics. Though dd just rolled off bed into cot.. I was hoping to dismantle it ready for baby but I can see her rolling off onto the floor.

28 weeks today and I feel massive, been measuring about 3 weeks ahead but seeing consultant on Tuesday so ill find out then what plans are. It's dd 2nd on Tuesday too.

Mad week, home schooling on Tuesday pm, all day wed and Thursday and Friday pm. Got heating tests for dd and 2 year review and whooping cough Jab for me. Have you all had your flu jabs?

I'm also a royal grump atm especially with dh :( and I get grumpier because I know I'm being a total moaner. Also eldest is being a real teen and full of drama and testosterone ...

BuntCadger · 21/10/2013 00:19

Oh my Shockhuge amounts of typos .. Sorry x

Naturegirl82 · 21/10/2013 08:23

Sorry about your dh frizz I was wondering yesterday how he had got on. Fingers crossed something turns up soon. Yay for the fridge full of goodies Smile It's nice spending quality time with the parents. I don't see mine as often as I would like as live 250 miles from them and everyone is always quite busy, but it's lovely when they come up or we go down.

I had a horrible nights sleep. Went to bed exhausted feeling a bit ill and with a headache, hoping sleep would make me feel better but woke at 2 and headache was worse. Even dh breathing quietly really hurt. Got up and managed to find some paracetamol which helped, but woke at 4 as well and took a while to get back to sleep. Pooch woke at 6.20 (late for her thankfully) so let her out and went back to bed for a bit, and then had delivery people phone at 7.30 to say they would be here within the hour so now I'm up. Glad they are coming early as it means I'm not waiting around all day for them and I can finally finish building the piece of furniture we started two weeks ago! So glad I'm off work as a nap may be required!

Is anyone else finding they are moaning more than usual. I've been so lucky I've had it easy until now, but now I'm getting a few niggles and getting tired again and not admitting it or wanting to slow down I feel very grumpy. Dh says I'm not being grumpy but he is so lovely he would say anything to make me feel better. Smile He even tried to take the credit (!) for putting a piece of the furniture on the wrong way yesterday so I wouldn't get annoyed with myself, bless him. We both knew it was me though! Haha!

Hope everyone has a good Monday.

MrsGSR · 21/10/2013 08:45

Just checking in, I hope everyone has had a good weekend :)

The uti I had a few weeks ago is back (frizz one of my symptoms was needing to go a lot but only going a little bit each time, might be worth getting checked out as it doesn't take long and if left untreated gets very painful!) so I'm on the sofa watching rubbish daytime tv today!

Frizz1986 · 21/10/2013 09:45

Thanks mrsg Have booked a doc app for thursday morning to stop my worrying. Its orob nothing but best to check it out in case. Also thought i had a slight yellowy tinge to discharge this morning but not sure if thats just because dh decided on peach loo roll! It seems rather watery too.....
Guess i can get it all checked out just to put my mind at rest to make sure there is no infection anywhere.

TobyLerone · 21/10/2013 09:53

Nice to see you back, Bunt. You have been busy! I've got my whooping cough and flu jabs on Friday. Looking forward to the achy arm Hmm

Sorry your DH didn't get the job, Frizz :( Glad you had a lovely weekend with your parents, though. Hope you don't have an infection.

I feel like I've been moaning all the way through, nature. I apologise to my DH on what feels like a daily basis for it! He's always lovely about it.

I'm basically doing nothing today. I'm knackered from the weekend! Meal-planning and food shopping is about my limit for the day.

AnotherStitchInTime · 21/10/2013 09:54

It's a rainy, rainy day here.

Dd2 is ill, so I am mnetting whilst she is watching nursery rhyme cartoons sitting on my lap.

nature me too re: sofa, I have just ordered another gym ball as I stupidly threw two away before I realised I was preggo again!

flyaway happy birthday for yesterday. :( about your mum, is she always like that or is it impending grandmotherhood that has set her off?

frizz I would get checked for a uti just in case, I pee a lot though depending on if baby is sitting on my bladder.

bunt how old is dd? My dd2 is 20 months and has been in a cot bed with the side off since 17 months old, we use a lindam bed guard to stop her falling out. She has ended up on the floor twice though by sliding feet first off the end, she landed on the thick rug and didn't wake up at all Hmm

Worked out I have put on 7.4kg (1st 2lbs) since booking in appointment at 11 weeks pregnant, have no idea what I was before then as I didn't know I was pregnant and didn't bother weighing myself. I did manage to do my youtube pregnancy exercise routine yesterday, but then ate crisps and chocolate, oh well :)

TobyLerone · 21/10/2013 10:13

Oh, and I measured my waist the other day. It was 42" :o

BandontheFun · 21/10/2013 10:41

I get my whooping cough jab on Friday! Have to ask the nurse when I go about the flu jab, cos I have an egg allergy they need to order me one in egg-free.

We finished the baby's room this weekend, and it looks ace! Kinda thinking I may have got too organised, will be nothing to keep me busy during my maternity leave! :)

I don't have scales at home, better for my self esteem, so no idea how much I have put on...although people keep telling me I look like I have lost weight. Think it's just that all my fat has placed itself on my tummy.

I may have to switch to Velcro shoes, laces are getting harder. Almost bought one of those old people shoe horns yesterday...I am now kicking myself for not.

Frizz1986 · 21/10/2013 11:13

flyaway happy bday for yesterday. Sorry it wasnt how you wanted it.

MrsAVB · 21/10/2013 11:18

Oof... Baby has been giving me a hard time the last few days; vomming every day again (including rather spectacularly in the bath), plus I think it has turned into 20 mice wearing boxing gloves and steel-cap boots, and heartburn has been terrible too. Should I be worried, or is this just how it's going to be? I think I've been overdoing it over the last few days, busy weekend and also feel frazzled about a few things at work and home... Boo Sad, sorry for the pity party ladies.
frizz sorry to hear about DHs interview, I agree with the others re. the UTI, I had one a few weeks back and it was horrid, and the antibiotics gave me thrush so better to get it checked.
toby, what is this "waist" you speak of? I've forgotten what mine looks like...

TobyLerone · 21/10/2013 11:59

Oh, MrsA, that sounds awful :( You've had a really hard time of it, haven't you?

Well, when I say 'waist', I mean 'huge lump around my midsection' :o

Frizz1986 · 21/10/2013 12:25

My waist is just about visible under my 'still pretty tiny' boobs! I guess that's not really my waist tho, its just where the baby bump hasn't managed to get to yet and the fat hasn't quite advanced that far either!

Sorry the sickness has returned mrsa Hope it goes away as quickly as it has arrived.
Baby movement has def increased this end too. Find it is moving around much more through the day and at points my lower belly goes rock hard, which i guess is when the baby is lying right there and pushing against me. Not quite boxing gloves yet! Hoping this placenta being at the front is blocking it out a bit so it doesnt become too much.

AnotherStitchInTime · 21/10/2013 13:09

Band you and me both, although my mum was telling me that an elderly lady she knows was complaining about velcro shoes the other day, apparently the velcro bit always springs shut just as you are about to get the shoe on. I have some flat slip-on pumps that I wore with dd2 that are great for when you are huge and have swollen feet.

MrsA that does sound rough, I know with both my previous pregnancies that nausea and vomiting returned in the last trimester and was often linked to terrible heartburn. Are you taking anything for the heartburn?

No waist here either unless you look from behind!

Mythreeknights · 21/10/2013 13:40

Oh dear we are having a shitty time of it aren't we! My sympathies with you MrsGSR - having suffered more than my share of UTIs in the past I am sending you massive get well soon vibes as there really isn't anything worse. On that note, my DS1 who was born with severe hypospadias (mangled up urethra etc) has got a UTI himself (he's 4.5 yrs) and is upstairs asleep. Was a troublesome night, up from 3-5am with him in agony and now I'm 'working' whilst he's asleep. As no-one knows the cause for sure of hypospadias (e.g. 50% genetic, 50% environmental damage in pregnancy such as eating unwashed fruit / veg / parabens etc) I am worried if I'm having another boy that he'll have it too. That said DS2 hasn't got it so FINGERS CROSSED something just went wrong in my first pg and it won't go wrong again this time. Argh. The worry. I have another scan in 6 weeks time (at 34 weeks) for my placenta praevia to check it's moved - if you were me, would you find out what you are having? I didn't want to know at 20 weeks, but now that DS1 is so ill I'm starting to think I need to prepare myself.

Frizz bad luck to your DH what a bummer....but yay for the wine and the fully stocked fridge and wonderful parents.

alice93 · 21/10/2013 14:02

I thought I'd join an antenatal group so I'm just saying hi Smile . I'm due 7th Jan, with ds1. Very excited Grin . I'm a full time student, so I don't really know anyone expecting or with young ones, especially where I am living! But my uni friends are loving the idea of it so far & the staff in my uni department are extra supportive and excited as well :)

TobyLerone · 21/10/2013 15:06

Hi alice :) Welcome! What are you studying?

I'm sorry your DS is so unwell, mythree :(

flyawayblue · 21/10/2013 15:26

Hope everyone with UTI's is okay. They are horribly things.

Thank you for the birthday wishes.
Sadly that's just my mum, normally used to it but more emotional at the moment so it's harder.

I'm off sick today so spent last night being sick, can only keep down crackers at the moment. I'd hoped I was passed this.

flyawayblue · 21/10/2013 15:28

Sorry meant too say hi Alice hit post too soon. Sure I've missed other things, have a short memory at the moment.

Toothfairy78 · 21/10/2013 15:53

Hey all!
Just got in from having my jabs. Nurse insisted on doing one in each arm. DH pointed out pregnancy involves having a lot of things stuck in you, huhuh. Well, in for a penny...I say.

GTT results came back OK today! Well done me!

So erm, you lot have been busy, no chance of catching up...

Well done to those who did shed loads of nesting an running around!

Commiserations to MrFrizz. At least he got some sparring practice in, which is also good for future interviews. Yay for full fridges!

Get well soon to those with ailments.

A full standing "fuck you!" with knobs on to cockwomble bosses/colleagues and other such deserving types out there.

Welcome & congrats to alice!

Finally, If anyone is feeling bad about their weight gain, I stopped looking after week 25, when GP weighed me and I found out I put on 12kg, up from 68kg (I'm 5'6"). So don't beat yourselves up.
