ah kchapper turning out like my mother is one of my biggest fears in life! but at the end of the day, I know I will try so hard to not replicate her behaviour that I will just fall in other traps. So I will just do my best and I try not to freak out about it.

mumoftwoboysS · 03/10/2013 16:38

Me too (worried about turning out like my mother) but then if we're worried about it that means we probably won't!!

This thread is flying- so much to catch up on and it's only been a day or so!!

Had my flu jab this morning, blood test @ lunch and they offered to do my whooping cough jab too but I drew the line at having another needle in me today!

Having major aches and pains (feels like sciatica down my right leg but only goes to the knee) and a dodgy clicking sound in my pelvis when I walk! (And that's on top of the throbbing pain of varicose veins) I'm worried as I don't know how I'm going to get through 12 more weeks of this!....

God I'm starving too, haven't eaten much today but bloated with gas so don't feel like I can! Argh!..

PinkWitch803 · 03/10/2013 17:18

I made scoth drop pancakes for breakfast (well I made the mixture and DP cooked them) served with golden syrup or sugar and lemon. We mixed sultanas in sone of the pancakes, so didn't fancy chocolate! Perhaps tomorrow! If it isn't too naughty. Plus I baked a madeira cake, yum.

Then I started a course of antibiotics for a chest infection! But I am going back to work on Monday after two weeks off! That is going to be real hard work! But will get through it, I am sure.

Hi ladies, I hope it's ok if I join, I have lurked a bit on mumsnet but not really used it properly if you know what I mean! I am 30 +5 with baby number 1 -due 7th December. I'm currently off work with spd which is very frustrating. Anyway, would be really good to chat to other mums to be as its starting to get very real! Grin

WhisperMen · 03/10/2013 17:39

Hello cherry ofcourse you can join us. We welcome everyone here. Be warned we like to chat though so the threads move pretty fast!

Sorry to hear you have SPD. hope it's not too painful for you.

For any of you who aren't part of our facebook group, i'll update you here too. I am currently in hospital after taking a tumble down the stairs and giving bump quite a knock. I have that blood type that doesn't like baby so I went to get checked and ended up having a bleed. I'm being kept in tonight for monitoring but I don't think anything too bad is happening.

Featherbag · 03/10/2013 17:53

Pleased you're ok Whisper x

Xenadog · 03/10/2013 17:57

13Loki hope you are feeling better now, will you have tomorrow off if you still feel poorly?

Whisper I'm sorry you're in hospital. I hope you are feeling OK and LO is well too. Take care and how lovely of you to think about inviting us newbies to the FB group when you are clearly under the weather.

PinkWitch those pancakes sound lovely - a real treat for breakfast sets you up for the day doesn't it?

Hello to all the other newbies too.

WhisperMen · 03/10/2013 17:59

If you want to be in the group on FB, just send me a private message on here & I can add you to the group. Gives me something to do while I'm stuck in here.

WhisperMen · 03/10/2013 17:59

a private message with a link to your profile...is what I meant to say haha

mumoftwoboysS · 03/10/2013 18:01

Oh dear whisper hope all is ok. Take it easy and watch those stairs!! I'm sure baby is well padded but it's still worrying when things like that happen- have they scanned you or anything to check?

NomDeClavier · 03/10/2013 18:05

I will respond to people more fully later but I need to vent.

Aaaaargh!!!!!!! DH isn't home and I promised wend ear dinner together tonight, he says 10 minutes half an hour ago. I am knackersd. The art school not finding a replacement apparently my fault so I had to teach this afternoon so needed to grovel to a friend to pick DS up from nursery. My legs hurt. I've twisted an ankle. I have the GTT tomorrow. I'm not sleeping well. I am in a VILE mood.

Hello new ladies. I'm nice really Grin

WhisperMen · 03/10/2013 18:14

I haven't had a scan mum, but they have done bloods and I'm on a fetal heartrate monitor. They said they might scan tomorrow just to check, but they don't seem too concerned really. I don't actually know why I have to be here over night because all the staff are very happy with how peanut is. Hmm

oh dear nom you sound like you're having a bad day. Have a bath and some chocolate and an early night. Good luck with the GTT tomorrow, hope it goes well.

Stom91 · 03/10/2013 18:15

nom sending you a massive hug! My dp is pretty useless with time too.. He'll say 10 miles and turn up an hour later....

whisper sending you lots of love. You're in the best place

Baby Is sat in the most awkward position ever!! I can't sit properly hopefully she will move soon

weechops · 03/10/2013 18:22

Hiya all. Had a bad few days with everyone in the house having some sort of bug one after the other. Think it's my turn now - starting to feel ill :( and the sciatica is killing me too. Ok moan over :)

PinkWitch803 · 03/10/2013 19:15

I wish I could hug everyone and make you all feel better, but I might end up giving you my chest infection :)

I have just had a really good chat with my DP about the house! He is off work too with this cold and we are bith feeling human enough to go through some paperwork that needs doing. You know those jobs you should do but never get round to! So tomorrow we are reviewing our insurance policies, bank account, energy provider etc. and he has promised not to get pissy.

I also have my 28 week appointment and have invited him along to know what goes on at these appoint and let him have a chance at hearing LO heartbeat again. He doesn't need to come along, but it might be interesting for him! We'll see how he feels.

I am really stuck for what to have for dinner. He is having soup and i was too, but am just "off" food, except cake. Anyone with any suggestions? I can't be doing with cooking so at the moment I am tempted by toasted sandwiches, or back to soup!

WhisperMen · 03/10/2013 19:18

something with cheese pink everything is better with cheese. especially if it is melted. Grin

When I don't feel like cooking, I usually just make instant mash and beans. Super healthy I know Grin

PinkWitch803 · 03/10/2013 19:31

Maybe mozerella and tomato toastie! I also like banana toasties when the banana caramalises but both might be too much toastie. Especially as I had one and a half sandwiches at lunchtime. Maybe a salad :( with one cheesy toasty :)

PinkWitch803 · 03/10/2013 19:32

Hope you aren't too bored whisper.

mumoftwoboysS · 03/10/2013 19:45

whisper well it's good they've done that and are keeping an eye on you. I'm not sure how bash proof our bumps are but DS1 just kicked mine at bedtime- he was really hyper and didn't specifically aim for my bump but did it when he got upset when I tried to calm him down. I was like a protective animal over her babies and practically hissed at him! It was a decent kick but I'm sure baby is fine...

So fed up with his hyperactiveness. He started school (foundation) this month and going well apart from being like a crazed animal on speed every bedtime-so fed up.

5ammy · 03/10/2013 20:16

Hi ladies,

I have a bit if a TMI question - this is my third so it's really embarrassing.

I've recently noticed an increase in discharge (sorry), mainly very watery. Yesterday I said to my husband 'ugh, feel like I've wet myself' - went to the bathroom and my knickers were all wet. Just put it down to pregnancy.

Same again today, lots of watery discharge, I did wonder if my poor pelvic floor had given in, but it doesn't smell ammoniaish. I got changed from work about an hour ago and am wearing grey track suit bottoms - sat on the sofa with one leg on the floor and one on the sofa and the husband says 'honey, you're erm leaking', as in he could see a wet patch between my legs. So the increased discharge can't be my imagination.

Is anyone else having lots of watery discharge? I don't need to worry do I?

Sorry I don't post much, I'm more of a lurker. Thread moves so fast I can barely keep up.

Deya · 03/10/2013 20:36

Whisper you must have felt very worried after the fall and especially the bleed! Have you had your anti-D injection already?
I didn't "live" to see my anti-D as I had a bleed last week brought on by an excessive nesting instinct ( which involves moving furniture around ). Had to go to hospital and have my injection early. And all is fine with the little one, maybe too fine, as now docs are concerned about him being massive!

Deya · 03/10/2013 20:43

5ammy there is no such thing here as TMI Grin Mention the discharge to your doctor or midwife and ask for a swab. Can't hurt knowing that all is fine!
I had a swab last week unrelated to discharge - as a routine because I had a bleed-and it now turns out I have BV (bacterial vaginosis) going on without any symptoms. Yeah, i do have more discharge than usual but it doesn't smell, doesn't itch so I would not have been tested if not for the hospital stay.

5ammy · 03/10/2013 20:49

Thanks Deya,

Seeing midwife on weds so will mention it. Just had a shower, so feeling a bit fresher, popped a pad on too. It's probably just my pelvic floor giving up the game. Ha ha.

Thanks for the reply.

Deya · 03/10/2013 20:57

Bladders do become a bit weird with little naughty heads/feet testing them! Smile
Had a funny episode last week when I could only pee standing up Grin. Nothing was coming out if I sat down so I resorted to doing it in the shower. Awful, I know!
