Bit not but Blush

Featherbag · 13/10/2013 20:36

Oh my god the air in this car park never smelled so good - smells of FREEDOM!!!

Alyssa1978 · 13/10/2013 20:42

I'm now humming the freedom song by qfx lol

MrsShrubs · 13/10/2013 20:49

Congratulations feather you've finished!!!!!!!!!

whisper that cracked me up, hope you're not in too much pain! You really do get yourself into all kinds of trouble bless you!

Have been so so tired today, had no energy at all. Hoping it was just today and not going to hang around for the next 9 weeks

PinkWitch803 · 13/10/2013 21:17

Hats off to you whisper. I struggle staying in the bath more than 30 minutes. I would have gone stark raving mad in your place. I hope you have ironed out those wrinkles.

I have made it into hospital again with another bleed. Baby and me are fine and baby is staying in for a little but longer (29+3) so that is good news. Plus I get to see the little monkey again in a scan tomorrow.

I have been awake since 2:30 this morning and am hoping to get some sleep tonight, but still not sleepy even though I am in a room on my own in the hospital. I have some folms to watch on my tablet so I am hoping by the time 2:30 comes round I will be unconscious!

Congratulations feather on finishing. I felt your pain and was very cross (putting it mildly) at your colleagues.

BohemianRaspberry · 13/10/2013 21:25

Congrats feather - hope you make it clear you're not just signed off sick with spd - that it's stress from the nasty pieces of work that you work with!

Spent much of the late morning making vast amounts of cookies. 70 in total. May have made too much ...

Currently enjoying a pleasant half hour adding to the labour music list. The laptop speakers a right near the bump and Junior is going bonkers with the wriggling, even occasionally in tune Smile

Chilli81 · 13/10/2013 21:25

Haven't posted for a while but have been following the thread.
Whisper cant believe how long you must have spent in the bath. Poor you (though quite funny).
Congratulations feather you have done well to stick it out as long as you have. If |I didn't have a desk job, there's no way I'd still be at work.
I've been having quite a lot of indigestion to the point where I'm scared to eat. Went to the pharmacy to get my gaviscon prescription but they only have aniseed left. Yeuch! I'm still taking it though and it does seem to be working thankfully. Went ahead anyway and had a chicken roast for dinner though didn;t pig out as much I normally would.
Welcome Ring and Qumquat and any other newcomers.
Ring I could never co-sleep for that long. I am also too selfish. One of my best friends swore by it and probably got a lot more sleep than me but I find it hard enough to sleep with a baby in a cot in the same room as me let alone in bed with me. I guess whatever works.. My friend has lent me a bed nest which I;m ridiculously excited about as I had been keeping my eye out on ebay for ages but they are still really expensive. now being lent one for free. Bonus!

BohemianRaspberry · 13/10/2013 21:49

ring and chilli - both DH and me are restless sleepers so co-sleeping is quite a liability. I'd even be worried about the bed nest!

ringaringarosy · 13/10/2013 22:29

Yes i think just do whatever works and feels natural, the idea of putting mine in a cot feels really odd,i did buy one for ds1 but never used it,it felt strange him not being right next to me.I think the first few nights i worried about rolling onto him but a friend gave me a book called three in a bed about the benefits of co sleeping and i never looked back once i read that.

ccsays · 13/10/2013 22:57

I've just bought myself a Snuzpod Bohemian. I've been known to thrash around at bed at night, don't think I'd trust myself to co-sleep, so it's a happy medium. Figured if we have two sprogs as planned, it still works out about the same as renting a bednest twice.

meandbumpy · 13/10/2013 23:01

Congrats feather so happy for you that you've finished, great news!
Epic bath Whisper! Hope you're resembling less of a shriveled prune now and hope your back hasn't suffered too much from the ordeal.
Hi Ring, love the sound of your massive bed, am very jealous indeed.
Pink hope you're getting on ok and managing a bit of a rest, glad you're both doing well. It's a nice consolation that you get to see your little one on a scan Smile

I've been having some odd feelings this evening. I think perhaps baby is having a go at engaging because I'm getting a lot more feeling really low down. My bump doesn't look or feel like it's 'dropped' though so not sure what to make of it. Will be 32 weeks on Tuesday.

clare8allthepies · 14/10/2013 07:19

Glad to hear you've finished feather I feel like I've barely slept again and now feel like a zombie on the train. I'm so pleased it's my last week, only 5 days to go (and short days the last 2)

Alyssa1978 · 14/10/2013 07:34

33 weeks today woo hoo.
Bad note.....off to work now for a 9 hour shift arghhhhhh and its heaving when it gets to this time of year and we have a major in store launch so got a cat in hells chance of ever sitting down today Sad
3 weeks left go work, it feels like ages away. I don't know how I managed till 39 weeks last time Confused

Sorry to hear you're in hospital pink hope you've managed to get some sleep and glad little ones ok, enjoy seeing baby again on your scan.

Applepiesky · 14/10/2013 07:42

Hello ladies! Would love to join your thread ... Although I feel a bit lost in the amount of posts there are! You all seem to have struck up quite a friendship here - it's lovely!
I don't really have the time to read through every single post but would just like to introduce myself as being in the December club too - currently 30+4 and due on 19/12 .... :-)

WhisperMen · 14/10/2013 08:04

I was like a wrinkly old lady after my many hour stint in the bath. DP now calls me prune. Isn't he just adorable Hmm

I have a midwife appointment today which I'm confused about. I thought we got one at 28 then 32, not 28 then 30. I guess everywhere is different though?

Congrats on being free feather Bet it feels good to know you don't have to deal with the wankbadgers horrible women for a long time.

Welcome applepiesky You're my due date buddy Grin We do talk a lot, but just chip in when you want too, we're very accommodating Grin

Applepiesky · 14/10/2013 08:16

Hey again whisper - did meet you briefly over on the pregnancy boards! Due the same day, isn't that lovely! Remind me, do you know what you're having?

I have a midwife appt tomorrow - here in Wales we have them at 25,28,31,34 and I think then it becomes fortnightly as opposed to 3 weekly?

WhisperMen · 14/10/2013 08:25

I don't know what I'm having, little one wouldn't show us despite numerous attempts at seeing! I have a sneaky feeling it's a boy cooking in there, but only time will tell I guess. How about you? ooh it would seem the doctors surgery where I am is following the same pattern at that then as the only day for the midwife clinic is a Monday and it's always just before I go into the next week if you get me?

Featherbag · 14/10/2013 08:56

Well, I got what I wanted for my birthday - I'm still pregnant! Got sleepy cuddles from DS til 8am, chocolates and manicure/pedicure from DH, and a handmade jumper that would fit a 6-year old from DH's granny Grin

froubylou · 14/10/2013 09:07

Happy birthday feathers. Its mine next week too.

Hello apple, I'm due on 20th so day after you.

Just done the school run and one of my friends stood and laughed at me waddling back up the hill pmsl. Good job she is a good friend.

Housework day today. Hopefully I will have enough energy to get it all done! Really want to start washing baby clothes and organising furniture etc etc but want to de clutter a bit more first.

Think a coffee is needed first though lol.

mumoftwoboysS · 14/10/2013 09:14

chilli so envious of you having a bed nest! Really wanted to get one, but like you say, they're so expensive and don't think DH is that convinced. I bought a Moses basket for a fiver at a baby market but the stand is broken (tho could be fixed with glue) now have had the offer from a friend with one that sits on a rocker so think I'll borrow that as hers sounds better quality and I can imagine rocking coming in handy in the early days (ignoring what Gina Ford says about rocking your baby!) ESP at night. Love the idea of the co-sleeper cots that attach to the side of the bed but with my bf history, if I only manage to bf for a few weeks I'm my sure it'll be worth it at night as I'll be getting up to make bottles anyway.

nom while I'm thinking about it- if you're lurking out there- my main worry about bf is that after a few weeks, if I don't get (or manage to get through) cracked/bleeding nips etc, how does someone keep going if baby is feeding every 2 hrs at night and mum is exhausted etc?? I don't cope well on lack of sleep (cue lots of crying, emotional wreck etc) and I know how good formula is for keeping feeds further apart (4ish hours). My friend started doing formula at night to save her sanity and baby (2 wks old) started getting a bit of nipple confusion- I actually don't know if she's still bf, I can imagine her supply was affected. I don't want to be selfish I just know I'm going to struggle (ESP with 2 kids to look after) but I know plenty of other women manage it!

Applepiesky · 14/10/2013 09:26

whisper ah no way can't believe you've not been able to find out! Bless you. We are having a surprise :-) yeah I know what you mean about midwife appts- mine are always on a Tuesday so I'm always kind of a week early but plus 5 if you get me? So tomorrow at my 31 week appt ill actually be 30+5.... It seems to work fine altho I was totally pissed off when the midwife told me to book in for my whooping cough jab with the nurse straight after my midwife appt at 28wks, at which time I was 27+5 and they refused to do it as I wasn't 28 weeks! What a waste of time hey!

Hey frouby - the 20th hey! Do you get the horrible feeling that baby is going to arrive on Christmas Day like I do?! :-)

itsliz · 14/10/2013 09:48

Morning, all! And Happy Birthday, Feather! Wine Cake Thanks

Going to spend my morning catching up on all your posts as I've been away all weekend.

It was DP's 30th birthday on Saturday so we went back to our hometown in Somerset to visit family and friends and stuff ourselves with lots of yummy food at a big family meal Smile
It was a lovely weekend but probably the last time we'll go back to visit before baby gets here as I'm finding it harder and harder to sit comfortably in the car for 2 1/2 hours at a time!

Went to visit one of DP's friends as well, as his little boy was having a party for his 2nd birthday. Seeing him playing with his presents and getting all excited when he got to blow out the candles on his cake just made me even more excited about meeting our little man Smile
And now that he's 2, his mum and dad are getting rid of a lot of his old baby stuff so DP and I ended up being presented with a huge bag of baby clothes!
Can't wait to sort through them all as I've already spotted lots of cute things in there, including some adorable little pairs of jeans and chinos! Grin

I'm 29 weeks today so I've decided to finish off my hospital bag list this week and start buying toiletries etc ready to pack.
I know a lot of you have already started packing, so if you're already packed or you've done it all before... Help!
Is there anything really essential that I need to remember or any little luxuries that might make the whole process a bit easier?!
Any tips would be greatly appreciated Smile

WhisperMen · 14/10/2013 11:04

Happy Birthday feather Cake for you!
