Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
LyraSilvertongue · 29/09/2013 22:51

I went to Harrods once and got followed around by a security guard so I left in disgust. I obviously don't look rich enough for their over-priced store.

JK10 · 29/09/2013 22:57

lumpy pleased u feeling better

writer fx for the rest of your pregnancy to be stress free.

little congrats on the twins.

Thanks for the receipe tips, u have inspired me! Just a bugger to make the family big meaty dinners and not to be able to see if they are any good! My choice to be a veggie though!!

To those of u with smoking issues, I was once a heavy smoker, many moons ago and it is hard and u really need to be in the right frame of mind to do it. I still on the odd occasion when drinking with the girls would sneek of for a crafty one! But some of my friends have quit this yr, really successfully by using the vapour cigarettes. Would it be worth buying one just for OH to try out?

I am feeling very emotional this eve! Not like me at all! My DD is starting nursery tomorrow! I had doubts about putting her in as she is 2 but felt that it would do her good to learn to be away from me for a bit and to mix with her own age. We went for half hr play there last week and I waited for her at the other end of the room, after 10 mins the look of panic in her face when she couldn't see me she just freaked and screamed the place down. I'm dreading leaving her tomorrow, will be tears and tantrums, she is gonna hate it. Why did I think it was a good idea.

Jolleigh · 29/09/2013 23:05

Hi JK - unfortunately the robot-fag doesn't hold much appeal for DP. We do have a very good one in the house, but if it doesn't taste like death, he doesn't want to know. He does say he's goung to quit. But he has a habit of saying things that are easier said than done, then realising how hard they are and pretending he never said it lol.

But as most of you know, I was a heavy smoker right up until we had a positive pregnancy test in hand. I'm still determined it was the hormones that helped me go cold turkey, not the will power that I know I don't have.

Prambo · 29/09/2013 23:09

JK, have faith in your decision. We talked about this last week and decided your daughter is ready. We will be here for you tomorrow if you're drowning in snot and tears. You've done the right thing

Here, have these; I bought them specially from Selfridges flower hall: Thanks

commsgirl · 29/09/2013 23:10

Baby's moving :)

I'll catch up tomorrow when I'm supposed to be working but I just wanted to share!

commsgirl · 29/09/2013 23:12

Loving your flower hall tour this eve Pram!

Cassiopeia01 · 29/09/2013 23:17

Thanks for the flowers pram! Much prefer them from the garden Grin

StepD is normally such a lovely girl which is why it was so upsetting that she took my stuff. Have told her that if she does it again I will rip her head off. Quite a reasonable response I think...

Oof. Have got night cream running into my eyes and it feckin stings.

Anyway, DH is home and I am having an earlyish night Wink.

Prambo · 29/09/2013 23:46

Yowzers! Did anyone read Liz Jones' blistering attack on middle-class office workers in today's MoS?

apprenticemamma · 29/09/2013 23:56

Lyra self satisfied smug lol at the dps! May the buggers suffer! Mine was in bed at half eight. I made sure when I came to bed just now that I accidentally switched on a few lights, my phone , and tripped over summat. Sadly my dp sleeps a lot heavier than me Shock .
zzzzzzz.

LyraSilvertongue · 30/09/2013 00:41

Apprentice Grin

I'm far too soft. He looked so broken that I wanted to look after him (and strangle him at the same time Wink).

Babybear, I meant to say before, thanks for the clarification. It made your post make much more sense. Sorry if I was harsh. Today has not been a good day.

Sleep time now as I have to be up in under 7 hours. Why does DS1's secondary school have to start at 8.25am? Don't they know I'm not a morning person?

x0gawjus0x · 30/09/2013 06:53

Loving the christmas posts i absolutely love xmas, its my fave but its a bit shit that every sibgle person in my fam will be pissed and i wont be!!!

I also have to work most xmas days :(

trying to hard to resist buying littlw cute girly outfits untill the 17th!! Just incase she grows a penis by then haha

FrankelInFoal · 30/09/2013 07:13

Hello all! Apologies for radio silence, but I've been away visiting my folks for a dew days.

Only caught up on the last couple of pages so wanted to say Hurrah! for our twins Grin
Gawj I hope you are doing ok! only you can make the decision about what is right for you to do with regards to your relationships but we are all here for you whatever the outcome. All I would ask you to think on is what would you say to your daughter if she came to you in 20 years time to say a man was treating her the way Carl has treated you?

In other news. I think I might be starting to feel some sort of movement - 18 weeks tomorrow! Grin

Jolleigh · 30/09/2013 07:34

I did read the Liz Jones article Pram. Yet again, she's writing purely to piss people off rather than because she has a valid point to make. Which is a shame because she's occasionally produced some very well written ones, but only when she's actually put some effort in and put down her smegging latte for a few minutes the vile hag

OwlinaTree · 30/09/2013 07:48

Well done kara.

I'm about to leave for work wearing maternity trousers and a maternity top. I'm not sure I can keep this pg a secret from 29 sets of parents for much longer!! I wanted to wait until the 20 week scan to check alls well really. Oh well, if anyone asks I can tell the truth I guess.

OwlinaTree · 30/09/2013 07:51

There was an interesting thread about Harrods Xmas grotto the other day on AIBU. I'm not sure I know how to link to threads, is it the same as normal web links? Basically saying you can't book to see Santa unless you are a regular shopper! Talk about elitist!!

liberuna · 30/09/2013 07:56

Plum wine

KEGELS

rescoonetwothree · 30/09/2013 08:21

Loved all the Harrods etc lark when I was a kid, to be fair I wasn't aware when I was a kid at all of the elitism of a lifestyle etc so don't think it matters too much it's more parents who are bothered and that make it an issue as with a lot of things - always loved the local garden centre one just as much!

Think of it as a more expensive reward card haha!

rescoonetwothree · 30/09/2013 08:23

Liz jones is hilarious. My favourite so far as been her tasteful horse tattoo Cheryl cole rant. Gold.

Hope everyone's well today - any more gender scans booked in I need my fix!

Does anyone know if NCT nearly new sales are any good?

Jolleigh · 30/09/2013 08:35

Must have missed that one grey.

I'm told the nearly new sales are really good but haven't actually been to one...

rescoonetwothree · 30/09/2013 08:41

joll enjoy!

rescoonetwothree · 30/09/2013 08:43

Posted too soon! Ooh ok thanks! Will have to go to look into the next local one!

karamcleod · 30/09/2013 09:06

Doctors at half 9, I've been to the doctors more during this pg than I have the rest of my life. OH is coming home from work to take me to the docs but can't help wishing he's stay at work as he is a grumpy, ogre faced, shit this morning.
Had about 4 hours sleep and been sick twice this morning. Today is not my day :(

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 30/09/2013 09:22

NCT sales are the dogs bollocks!

in terms of entry, and access to the best stuff, it goes
volunteers,
members,
everyone else.

ice2 always been in "everyone else" but have still come home with some lovely stuff! DEFINITELY worth going. and queueing for a looong time!

LyraSilvertongue · 30/09/2013 09:26

I've heard good things too about the NCT sales. I missed on on September 13th so it'll probably be a while till the next one.

lumpylumps · 30/09/2013 09:32

Kara I hope you get sorted. Dh has taken ds1 to tesco, I've got my feet up, I've put in my prescription request for more gaviscon and I'm waiting for the obstetric physio to ring me back.

I think part of the problem with men is that they just can't understand what its like to be pregnant. Not because they don't want to, they just can't because unless you are, no one can. Even if you've been there before, you forget. Their life doesn't change. Not like ours does, they don't have to stop drinking, smoking, eating their favourite foods and replace them with aches, pains, nausea, vomiting, heartburn, tiredness etc etc!!

Welcome Dragon Woohoo, twins!!!!!
