ah ha! no offloading so can't be a gift. I'd personally just add some Christmas spices and brown sugars then let the flavours mature for a few months. It really would be a great accompaniment if you were having duck for Christmas. Or even a mulled plum pie? Served with clotted cream. I'm making myself hungry now. Blush

OwlinaTree · 29/09/2013 21:55

prambo I agree with you re the smoking: it's not being done at you wonder.

karamcleod · 29/09/2013 21:56

Plum crumble! Unless they're victoria plums? If so please put them in a box and send them to dundee and I will eat the whole lot just as they are! Or you could make jam?
I have every kind of jam in my cupboard it never goes off and can be good for bargaining :)

I just got my first 'your too young to be a parent' comment. I live in Dundee fuck sakes, average age of conception here is probably 12!

HotCrossPun · 29/09/2013 21:57

Jolls You and your descriptions! You make me so hungry Grin

You should apply to M&S to write the scripts for their sexy food adverts.

Welcome Little! Twins! How exciting!! One of my lovely friends on another thread is having twins. You will see a consultant at some point, and she now has scans every 4 weeks after the 20 week mark. I'm fairly sure this is standard multiples care. They will need much closer monitoring than singletons. I would say you'll be getting an appointment letter in the post, but you should call your midwife to ask.

I'm so sorry to hear what a rubbish time so many of you are having Sad. I very much hope that a new day brings something better for you all Smile

LyraSilvertongue · 29/09/2013 21:58

Thanks Kara. I'll make an extra hot and spicy one with plenty of chili for DP (he has chili with EVERYTHING) and a sweet mild one for the DC.

Cassiopeia01 · 29/09/2013 22:01

Welcome to the new ladies and yey to the first twins!

Had an interesting weekend with a mahoosive row with my eldest step-daughter when she got busted for taking my make-up back to her mums. How she thought I wouldn't notice that 60 quids worth of stuff had gone is beyond me. For the first time in 4 yrs I got the 'you're not my mum' moment. She eventually (after 10 mins of screaming at each other) fessed up and apologised but I am so disappointed in her. Prob is she lies with her mum all the time (DH ex is a tad psychotic so the kids always tell her what she wants to hear rather than what they think) so she doesn't know when to stop. Taking stuff is a first though. Am going to have to start frisking her when she goes back to her mumsHmm.

I am determined to get back and cooking in the kitchen. You lot are inspiring me to get cooking again !

Jolleigh · 29/09/2013 22:03

Grin food is a bit of a passion of mine HotCross. And I very much enjoy writing, hence I eventually signed up for trip advisor and do some writing for text broker when I get the time.

apprentice - doesn't Christmas pudding have a lot of plum in it? Individual ones make great gifts and if you make them now, they'll have plenty of maturing time.

LyraSilvertongue · 29/09/2013 22:05

Apprentice, BBC Good Food site has an easy-looking plum jam recipe. You could buy some fancy jars and give it away as presents.

LyraSilvertongue · 29/09/2013 22:08

So, I also have ten or so peppers to use up. I was thinking of just chopping, blanching and freezing in small portions for cooking but any other suggestions gratefully received.

apprenticemamma · 29/09/2013 22:08

Kara yes they are Victoria plums! I'm nr Dundee too so I can throw the box your waySmile

As for age when I sit in the waiting room at Ninewells antenatal I am often the same age as some grans to be. Sad . I'm 35! No 20 is not all that young round here.

SoSurprised · 29/09/2013 22:08

welcome little we finally got our martian twins!!!

OwlinaTree · 29/09/2013 22:10

Sending you sympathy lumpy.

Welcome writer. Sorry to hear about your bleeding, get your feet up and rest. Will being signed off sick affect your pay?

OwlinaTree · 29/09/2013 22:15

Welcome little how exciting with twins! Will you know if they are identical or not at the next scan? Or do you already know?

LyraSilvertongue · 29/09/2013 22:16

Writer, didn't you post in one of our first threads a while back?

karamcleod · 29/09/2013 22:16

Lyra I'd slice them finely pan fry with a little ginger, garlic and chilli or put them on skewers grill and them but I love peppers, I'm sure you could try making a pepper jam? I haven't tried that one yet but it could be nice? Haha!

OwlinaTree · 29/09/2013 22:19

What a rude comment kara, did you respond with something suitable or (like I would) think of something good to say an hour later?

karamcleod · 29/09/2013 22:35

Owl I told her to fuck off, I'm more than capable of making my own choices :)

Coolhand · 29/09/2013 22:41

Welcomelittle - I def wouldn't be happy not seeing any mw to 28 weeks with twins. I'm on no 2 and still got 16 weeks appnt with midwife, just don't get the 24 weeks one. I'd certainly be asking at my 20 week scan what additional scans I should expect with twins.

I'm feeling guilty as just couldn't motivate myself to work this evening. As always, I have a mountain of work for the week ahead so am now starting off on the wrong foot. Oops

MummyPig24 · 29/09/2013 22:43

dragon, hello! Twins at last! I'm sure you will be seen before 28 weeks as you will need extra monitoring. Are your twins identical?

Dd just outdid herself by having a screaming tantrum....while she was asleep! Dh and I were like, well what the hell do we do? We couldn't calm her down! Eventually she settled down after what seemed like forever.

I'm going to sleep. Tomorrow is another day, and hopefully I get to hear Nandos heartbeat.

JustCallMeBaldrick · 29/09/2013 22:46

Welcome little!!
My non-id twins are 7 now, but I'm happy to talk twin pregnancies Smile
Are yours id or non-id? From memory, you will have a scan every 4 weeks after 20 weeks, and I also had monthly mw appointments.
Looking forward to getting to know you!

Prambo · 29/09/2013 22:48

Cassie, I'm sorry your step-daughter has been a thieving brat. You'll sort her out, no problem. Meanwhile, I salute you simply because you are loving someone else's kids. Here, have these; they're from the Harrods flower hall: Thanks

Welcome, Writer, I also recognise you from thread one.

TWINS!! Congratulations, Dragon, I'm more than a little Envy Grin

mimili · 29/09/2013 22:49
