I'm not sure how you're planning to pronounce Makella? Is it similar to Michaela?

As a teacher I find names which have only one pronunciation does make life a lot easier for all concerned...

We agreed first time on my suggestion of first and middle name for a boy (traditional/family names) but really clueless for girls, unlikely to be anything unusual though. I do quite like Arwen now that you've mentioned it on here - husband's family are welsh so there would be a connection there. Is this the girl from lord of the rings? Husband wants to find out so if it's a boy that would make life easier from the naming point of view, and if it's a girl we'll have to get thinking.

I really like black pudding... My aunt made a delicious black pudding risotto when I visited her recently.

Sorry to break laurens winning streak

IM HAVING A BABY GIRL !!!!!!!! :D

commsgirl · 26/09/2013 20:28

Yay! Lovely news. So excited for you! Xx

Jolleigh · 26/09/2013 20:33

I'll be honest kara - I don't like it. Sorry hun Blush

Question for anyone who's had the issue...when did your OHs get over the psychological barriers to sex? There's (understandably) less room in there for my rather well endowed other half and he keeps gettingva bit weird about it. He finishes me off in other ways Wink but he does talk to me about it after. I keep it light hearted...not a big deal, we can always have fun trying more positions to see if we can make room etc... He knows it's psychological and he's not hurting the baby, so I'm not too worried, but if there's anything more I can do to help normal service resume, I'd appreciate the advice.

Jolleigh · 26/09/2013 20:33

Great news gawjus Grin

karamcleod · 26/09/2013 20:34

Congratz gaw another girl! So 3 for team pink, 2 for team blue!

IceNoSlice · 26/09/2013 20:36

Names, such a delicate subject! So easy to offend. My advice is to not tell anyone (especially grandparents-to-be) before the baby arrives as they will be very quick to piss on your chips if they don't like your choice. Bit harder to criticise once you've announced the birth/name.

When 38wks pg with DS (who is called William) and we had decided on either William or Edward for a boy, we were at a wedding seated with an absolutely moronic woman. She got too pissed and was a divorce lawyer so talked about divorce and the high probability of divorce a lot (somewhat inappropriate at my best mates' wedding?!)

Anyway this goon asks if we've chosen a name yet. I say we have but it's a secret. So she launches into a story about how she hates really boring names and how lacking in imagination they are. Using as boring name examples, yes you've guessed it, Edward and William. Angry

And what is her darling offspring called. Jonty. Fucking Jonty.

So I, all innocence, say 'oh that's so popular now though isn't it? Really common, top 10 I think'. Ha. In your face Mrs 'I'm so out there'.

Disclaimer: I don't know or care if that is true. I also didn't really hate the name that much, pretty meh about it TBH. But she was such a twat I now associate it with her.

A girl! - Congrats gawj

PainAuxRaisins · 26/09/2013 20:43

William/Edward/Thomas etc. - not boring - more classic. Whereas Jonty Hmm ?

FrankelInFoal · 26/09/2013 20:44

Congratulations gawj Grin

HotCrossPun · 26/09/2013 20:45

So pleased for you Gaw Thanks

Pram That is my favourite thing you have ever said. Ever. Grin

Joll I think your right to just keep trying out different positions. I normally love doggy style. We were having a whale of a time, moved in to that position and I felt like I was being boned by a hot poker Confused

I'm sure somebody will come along in a minute will a full proof position that is fun for everyone!

IceNoSlice · 26/09/2013 20:45

Thanks PainAux Smile

I'm so conflicted - I was wrong, but Gawjus you wanted a girl didn't you! Congratulations!!! Grin

NoMaybeAboutIt · 26/09/2013 20:59

Congratulations Gawj!

Now. Sex. I haven't found anything uncomfy yet. But my god, is it just me or are anyone else's orgasms ten times more powerful than normal?

You're right about names. I showed my mum a list. It was 'no, no, no, maybe, no.....' . But then it was the same reaction DH have to my list Sad

Prambo · 26/09/2013 21:01

Lovely news, Gawj.

Kara, I don't like Makella, I'm sorry.

Jonty is such a gay name! That woman sounds like a proper trollop, Ice.

I've never orgasmed whilst being screwed doggy style. Mind you, I can't orgasm through penetration alone (and I am not ashamed to say I despise women who can) Grin

NoMaybeAboutIt · 26/09/2013 21:06

I can't normally either Prambo Wink

Also, I laughed out loud at Jonty.

Kara. I don't mind your name choice at all. I think names are so very personal aren't they. And lets face it. Nothing is worse than Jonty Wink

Jolleigh · 26/09/2013 21:06

NoMaybe - oh god yes, I'm sat grinning like a Cheshire cat Wink possibly why I'm not overly concerned

commsgirl · 26/09/2013 21:09

Maybs agree with the orgasms!

I'm not showing anyone our name list, I'm just going to present them with a named baby so they can't argue.

JustCallMeBaldrick · 26/09/2013 21:12

Congratulations xgawjx - go team pink!!!

Sex? Oh yes! Any time, any how right now (as long as we're in bed fairly early, otherwise I'm snoring...)

lumpylumps · 26/09/2013 21:13

Kitty-rose for a girl. I don't like hyphenated names but adore kitty but wouldn't be able to not call her kitty cat. So figured hyphenating might stop me. The Rose is cos the boys have already named her rosie!!
If it's a boy I'm buggered! Could I call him kitty???? I need boy suggestions. I have a Toby and an Oliver!

Yey on the girl news gawj hope you're okay.

karamcleod · 26/09/2013 21:39

I hate when people apologize for giving an honest opinion!
21 days is ages I want to know if I'm having a boy or a girl. I am waayyyy to impatient.
Baby is really active again tonight, I really didn't think I'd feel the little mite quite as much, being a fat fuck an al!

karamcleod · 26/09/2013 21:43

Who's next for gender reveal? :)

Jolleigh · 26/09/2013 21:43

ooh Lyra - I watched The Purge! Really enjoyed it Grin I do think they could have done more with the idea though. Maybe a sequal to take it further?

SuperMuddle · 26/09/2013 21:46

raisin, my 20 week scan is on the 7th November. I think we were date buddies at our dating scans too!

Congrats gawjus! Go Team Pink!

kara, I quite like how Makella sounds, but not how it looks on paper, IYSWIM. I love names ending in -ella, although it's slightly surname-y somehow. That's just my opinion though, please do ignore if you've fallen for the name!
