Ok we don't. We're sick a lot, cry at adverts, moan about back/hip pain and if we got a quid for each new stretchmark generated we could all give up work and employ a nanny.

In fact if you know any teenagers feel free to show them our threads...we are the most effective contraceptive since sliced bread don't ask.

Ladies...as you were....

any - damned auto correct.

Julietee · 14/10/2013 17:51

I just found out from my notes that I have a retroverted uterus. Apparently it made the 12 week scan difficult, but the sonographer didn't mention it. A bit of reading says it should tip forward of its own accord once the baby gets heavy enough.

winterflowers · 14/10/2013 18:05

Thanks sunflowered and poppy I think I will call and ask to have it next year at some point.

rueyrichardson · 14/10/2013 18:06

Question for the second and third + timers. If your next appt with a midwife is at 28 weeks, after the 20 week scan, how did you get a Mat B1 certificate? Had a row with the receptionist at the surgery today , when I asked if she could ask a GP or midwife to write me one for collection. Apparently work "will just have to wait" to receive it. I'm not concerned from work's perspective, but would like to box it all off!

CubanoHabana · 14/10/2013 18:07

Thanks Shropshire! Just done the requisite amount of pelvic floor muscles reading to the end of the thread!

winterflowers · 14/10/2013 18:36

ruey I had the same fight with my midwife! My solution is to on my own accord bring my 25 wk gp appt forward to late 24 wks amd get it signed then... or ask someone to sign at my flu jab appt

misskatamari · 14/10/2013 18:46

Yaaaay I handed in my maternity form today! I've put that ill do three days back after Christmas which means I don't need to go back until 8th Jan 2015! Grin I reckon I'll go back before Chrimbo tho so it's not a total shock to the system afterwards and so I get paid over the holidays!

I haven't felt much movement today/last night. Hoping she's just moved and is booting my placenta and I just can't really tell. I'm looking forward to when I'm feeling big proper kicks as most of the time now it still feels like sort of rolling movements most of the time.

Ugh I feel sick as I just ate Nutella with a spoon. Soooo good though. Thanks for the pelvic floor reminder Shropshire! Clench!

EeyoreIsh · 14/10/2013 19:03

I've been doing my pelvic floor exercises constantly after having a little scare the other day!

All together now...

clench...1.. 2...3... release

clench...1.. 2...3... release

clench...1.. 2...3... release

and breathe Grin

I'm in a proper moaning mood. The pain under my right rib is sooooo painful I could cry Sad I've been sitting down all afternoon and so it was bad even before I started my train journey. It's now close on unbearable. I'm off to Brussels tmw, and the prospect of more train journeys followed by a day sitting in a meeting all day is filling me with dread. I won't just be able to get up and stretch (or even better, lie down!).

Sorry for the moan. Back to baby shower planning Grin

Littlestgirlguide · 14/10/2013 19:09

Got Physio tomorrow for my SPD. Not really expecting it to help that much TBH, but we'll see!

pettyprudence · 14/10/2013 20:02

Julietee I also have a tilted uterus. I did wonder how ds would come out, due to my very poor knowledge and understanding of anatomy Blush but he came out fine Grin

Shrops and littlest I waved at you both as I was passing back and forth through Shropshire this weekend Smile

I keep getting a muscular/pulling pain on the top left side of my bump. Its reassuring in a way that the muscles haven't completely given up on me! i keep forgetting to do my pelvic floor exercises though so they are definitely shot Blush

No baby shower for me either - I don't think they have caught on in Cardiff yet!

rueyrichardson · 14/10/2013 20:35

Thanks Winterflowers!

marzipanned · 14/10/2013 21:10

Hello you gorgeous lot! Just back from holiday, feeling browner and fatter (good) though still pretty darn vomit-y (less good).

For those that remember my invading rot issues - the house has been treated in our absence but I'm still terrified of lingering chemicals entering my bloodstream and doing the little wriggler damage. Fingers crossed all will be well.

Haven't managed to catch up on the thread yet so hope everyone is dandy and enjoying the fact that we're definitely on the home stretch now. It's nearly Halloween, which means it's pretty much Guy Fawkes, which means it's basically Christmas, which means... FEBRUARY round the corner. Phew.

Julietee · 14/10/2013 21:42

Eeyore Poor you, that sounds somewhat hellish. I'm already uncomfortable sitting for too long - can't imagine a cross channel train trip followed by mandatory meetings. I think a lot of the time we're expected to ignore our bodies in favour of social/ work niceties.

EeyoreIsh · 14/10/2013 21:48

I do love the European side of my job, and I have refused to travel since May, so I shouldn't complain really. It just feels like a drag when all I want to do is nest away at home.

Since getting home tonight I've been stretching out on my side and it's made my ribs far less painful. I wish I could work lying on my side, chaise longue are clearly necessary for us preggos!

PoopPoooDeDooo · 14/10/2013 21:56

Hi all,

I'm wondering if I can join your thread? I'm a long time lurker (too nervous to post incase of tempting fate) however I was reading the October thread earlier and realised that I would be gutted if I couldn't post re early labour etc. due to being a wimp!

This will be DC3 & I'm actually due 18th Jan but Dd (Dc2) didn't arrive until 42 weeks so likely to be a feb baby!

Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Poop (26+2)

Poppy954 · 15/10/2013 08:58

Hope your trip goes well Eeyore. Are you taking iron Whoput? I always get leg cramps when I'm takin giron even the small amount in pregnacare.

Thanks for the countdown marzi - it's much more manageable than the counting down how many more days at work (67) which seems far too long!

Julietee · 15/10/2013 09:34

Marzipanned It's just all the days in between those that gets me! God I envy you ladies with proper jobs. Working part time from home = time drag.

bugsyburge · 15/10/2013 10:24

thanks champagne
