Ok we don't. We're sick a lot, cry at adverts, moan about back/hip pain and if we got a quid for each new stretchmark generated we could all give up work and employ a nanny.

In fact if you know any teenagers feel free to show them our threads...we are the most effective contraceptive since sliced bread don't ask.

Ladies...as you were....

Argh trying to work out when to start official ML is so distracting! Think I'm going to try and start it officially for pay etc on 03/02 when I'm 38wks, but take a week of paid annual leave before so my last day in the office will be 24/01. Means I have 66 working days left.

The logic being that I will try to 'work' as long as possible (work are already suggesting I work mainly from home from December onwards) to delay my maternity pay starting and also so I have more time off with baby. But if baby arrives early or I need to stop for health reasons I will get signed off.

My managers talked to me yesterday about their thoughts for my replacement and I'm a little worried as the person they want me to train up is not ideal (more junior, less skills, will take a long time to train) but I guess it's out of my hands. I can only do my best!

Welcome poop - hope you manage to keep up with us, we're a chatty bunch!

marzipanned · 15/10/2013 12:38

Oh julietee I do feel your pain! I quit my job at the beginning of the summer because of guilt of having to take so much time off sick so am now at home with only my MA dissertation to keep me busy.

BUT I had my 24 week MW appointment today and it does seem like the time between this one and the 16 week one has gone pretty quickly, so that's good.

Welcome poop!

Julietee · 15/10/2013 13:01

Poppy We got that sleepsuit in blue! It's so cute.

Julietee · 15/10/2013 13:03

Marzipanned Almost makes me wish I had an MA to do :D I looked into some crafting type classes but they all started already, and restart in Jan/feb, so not ideal. DH and I have vague plans to take a woodworking class together in April.

Everyone's so much further along than me! I'm only just 21+2, due Feb 23rd. I feel kinda like a fraud in here!

Yogibear72 · 15/10/2013 13:24

Hello ladies, can I join you?
My EDD is 03/03 but it's fairly certain it'll be February. Looking about 6 months gone due to some pretty big fibroids hanging around in there. Had to give up regular yoga classes last week due to size of belly :-( Got my scan on thurs so am excited about that.

Yogibear72 · 15/10/2013 13:30

Ooops! Just seen your last post Julietees Feel like a bigger fraud. 20 plus 2 here. A feb baby is a feb baby. Or in my case a very early march baby is extremely likely to be a feb baby :)

winterflowers · 15/10/2013 13:40

Welcome newbies! I also only just creep into this group julietee am due on the 25th. If this baby creeps into March and you guys are all nursing one month olds I may explode Grin

Julietee · 15/10/2013 13:47

Glad I'm not actually the only late Feb one :)

I don't know why, but I have this weird premonition that I'll end up delivering between the 14th-16th. Could be complete rubbish, of course! But my mum was 2-3 weeks early with both of us, and that seems to be the date my brain has settled on.

jazzcat28 · 15/10/2013 14:24

julietee I'm only 1 week ahead of you! EDD 16th feb so could easily be a valentine's baby or later!

sunflowered · 15/10/2013 17:02

I'm late feb too but depending on which birthing genes I've inherited I've warned we've got a 7+ week window. fingers crossed this little one behaves!

Work going crazy again this week but at least it's 48 hr deadlines now not 12! Why does nothing work?!? And have friday off for midwife, haircut, coffee and cake. Not that i'm counting down the hours already...

Julietee · 15/10/2013 17:20

Is that 7 weeks sort of wrapped around the DD?
Your Friday sounds lovely :)
My mum has booked us a spa break early dec when I'll be 29 weeks. Yay :)

marzipanned · 15/10/2013 17:56

So what is everyone eating for dinner at the moment? I feel pretty uninspired - so much for my images of cooking stews and soups all autumn :)

Please give me your favourite meal ideas...

gnittinggnome · 15/10/2013 18:10

marzipanned DH is currently requesting a repeat of the rice and beans from this irritatingly titled recipe:

recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-detail.asp?recipe=1334182

which we will have with grilled lamb chop or grilled mackerel. Plus lots leftover for lunchbox :-)

Sassy20 · 15/10/2013 19:22

I'm having a lazy dinner of my Mums homemade lasagne which she made and froze for me for days like this Smile

jazzcat28 · 15/10/2013 19:28

I had leftover chilli and rice - boring but am trying to use up the random tubs of leftovers in the freezer before December

marzipanned · 15/10/2013 19:35

Sassy now that's the kind of thing I need :)

Gnitting normally I would be whipping that up tomorrow but having just come back from the southern US I am thoroughly rice and beansed out!

I think part of the problem is that I only ate meat on special occasions before I was pregnant but veggie food is now not really cutting it. I need to get back into the frame of mind of making things like lasagne, chilli, spag bol for every day... alright, mince here I come :)

DawnOfTheDee · 15/10/2013 19:49

Hello and congrats newbies! Smile

Tonight we are having chicken madras for tea with mushrooms and courgettes. DH is making it for me.

I ate loads of spicy foods when pg with DD1 and she so far seems to have quite a tolerance for spicy foods so I'm doing the same with this one! Not sure if it does really have much bearing but I love spicy stuff so it works for me.

Aaaaarrrrgggghhh I just wrote a massive message and moved my hand and it's gone! PREGGO RAGE!!!!! I'm off for a bath before my phone gets chucked across the room and stamped into a million pieces. Oh my GOD my rage made it impossible to spell pieces then and it tried to autocorrect about 20 times! RAGEto the power 1029384727282!!!!

Welcome newbies! x

marzipanned · 15/10/2013 20:08

Dawn we ended up with curry tonight! I like your theory. I like curry. Winner.

EeyoreIsh · 15/10/2013 20:14

Hello newbies, welcome to our lovely thread Smile

I made it to Brussels just fine. I'm now chilling in my hotel room in a fluffy dressing gown. I'm so excited about having a huge bed all to myself! I can toss and turn as much as I like Grin. By a concentrated effort of the eurostar (and a fab new team member) I'm actually pretty much on top of work for tomorrow's meeting so I can chill tonight.

Now then, is anyone else's little one kicking their bowels? I love my baby but it's really quite off putting!

sunflower your Friday sounds amazing Envy

PoopPoooDeDooo · 15/10/2013 20:16

Thanks for the welcomes everyone Smile

Is anyone else struggling to sleep? I'm shattered but just can't sleep Sad Then when I do get to sleep back/pelvic pain wakes me up Angry

Babybrain is being made even worse coz of it!!

DawnOfTheDee · 15/10/2013 20:29

Sleep is not too bad at the moment but I am started to seriously get that horrid hip pain when i've been lying on one side for too long. I then have to try and turn over. As the winch I ordered hasn't arrived yet this involves me flopping around like a cross between a dying fish and a demented hippo while DH gets boinged off the bed and flies across the room with all the grace you'd expect from a tall, naked, furry, rudely awakened manshape.

Then we're both awake. Boo.
