I decided to take a peek into the antenatal club threads, but there's no June thread yet, although for good reason.

I may be jinxing myself here, but after a couple very very faint positives on ICs for the last couple days I got a positive on an FRER this morning, so thought it would be safe to start one up.

Of course, still early days, but if it sticks my due date will be 3-5 June, depending on several websites.... What can I say, I tested early!

I hope someone comes to join me soon. There have to be some more recent BFPs....

Hi everyone can I join your lovely thread? I'm 5 weeks today so due roughly 12 juneGrin. came straight off nexplanon implant and got bfp 4 weeks later! Proper shocked as I was 2 years ttc my dd.

julzy · 10/10/2013 07:27

Wow, our first twins, how exciting!

London I had my DD at the Royal Surrey and it was fine, all the midwives were lovely (i was there so long I think I met most of them!). I also have a few friends who gave birth there and I have heard only good things. I have moved house since but not too far away so hoping that I will be able to go back there again this time. If you want to go and have a look I think they do tours of the maternity part of the hospital every week (as long as they're not too busy).

cheesysmile · 10/10/2013 08:13

Hi donnas, course you can, welcome and congrats!

I'm so tired already today, I just want to curl up and go back to sleep but have to go to work ... prob gonna be late as it is!

oh also just had to say ... Penis beaker ... LOL!!! Grin I googled last night, so funny!

NessieMcFessie · 10/10/2013 08:45

Twins! Blimey! That is lovely (and slightly terrifying - two instead of one!?)

Poor DD is really sick and didn't sleep at all last night so I am on practically no sleep today with almost a full day of teaching - and I feel so sick.

Penis beaker was all over facebook yesterday - loads of my non-MN friends were talking about it......too funny!

AuntPittypat · 10/10/2013 09:27

Wow, so many posts to catch up on after just a couple of days away from MN! Lovely to have so many of us here now. And congrats PJen on the twins news! Do you have a history of them in your family?

I'm getting a bit worried about the lack of symptoms now. I'm sure I was feeling slightly nauseous by this point with DD, this time I really don't feel pregnant at all! I did another test on Tuesday and it still says 3+ weeks, and I've not had any bleeding at all... But I've still got a niggling doubt that I'm just imagining it all.

A nice easy day for me today, a morning out on a work visit and then the afternoon off. DD's at nursery so I'm going to just enjoy having the house to myself for a few hours and potter!

Snowlet · 10/10/2013 09:31

Bwahahaha I'm way behind on this thread, but I just googled penis beaker too, and oh man.... I think my fave was:

“Next time he [your partner] goes down the pub and his mates all cover their pint glasses with beer mats, you'll know why.”

Congrats to the newcomers and blimey pjen TWINS!! I'm convinced my BFF is having twins too, two for the price of one, sounds really good to me

Past two days my nausea has almost completely gone but boobs are so sore I could cry.... wondering if I might get away with being one of those MS sufferers who don't actually throw up, but I'm only 5+2 so surely it's too early to tell

Amazing how multi-national and multi-cultural this thread is! really happy to read everyone's introductions, and glad there's so many 2nd/3rd/more time mums here to give the rest of us first timers advice :)

wispaxmas · 10/10/2013 10:21

Twins?! Wow! I can't respond to everything, sat in the car on the train about to go through the eurotunnel on my adventure to Paris. Will get caught up once I get to Paris!!

Wow pjen...twins!! That's so lovely :) we have twins in our family and they are so cute!!

How is everybody doing?

D-day for me tmrw to retest, I will update some point, will have to ring the GP either way to let them know what's going on. It's wierd, my body is saying not pregnant with zero symptoms but I'm still hoping I am. X

LondonSuperTrooper · 10/10/2013 10:25

Thanks Julcy for confirming what I've been told. I knew that they carried out tours but I though it was usually when one is 28 weeks+?

I'm 5+4 & still have no symptoms. I think that I've bloated all this week but it could be because I'm feeling fat!

Aunt, I also had symptoms at this stage when I was preg with DS.

Have a good day all x

TinyTear · 10/10/2013 10:26

At least mine was only 20 months ago, so i remember a lot, i was told not to believe parents of children 3 and older as they have forgotten the worst bits...

Also, if anyone will need breastfeeding advice I can help, i am still feeding my daughter and was a regular on the local breastfeeding cafe and on the kellymom forums, so have a good idea...

LondonSuperTrooper · 10/10/2013 10:27

Hi Lucy! I'm also retesting tomorrow. I hope that we both get the 3+ on CB digi x

TinyTear · 10/10/2013 10:27

TinyTear · 10/10/2013 10:28

lucyfluff · 10/10/2013 10:43

Lol tiny! I've started doing x, habit from when I txt!

Are you retesting for peace of mind London?

LondonSuperTrooper · 10/10/2013 11:01

Lucy, yes I am. If I get the 3+ then I can breath a sigh of relief for a few days. I do have a scan next friday but its ages awaaaayyy.

Lucy & Tiny, I put x in as a habit from texting too.

TinyTear · 10/10/2013 11:06

lucyfluff · 10/10/2013 11:20

Awww I'm sure yours will be fine tmrw London. I know what you mean about waiting though, this week has dragged so badly :(

Let us know in the morning :)

LondonSuperTrooper · 10/10/2013 11:49

Thanks Lucy. I'll try and post tomorrow morning. Do keep us updated on your results too.

monkeybananas · 10/10/2013 12:07

Tiny, that's great to know about breast feeding. I failed miserably with DS (he was induced & no one explained that this could hold the milk back from coming in) also, no one told me I could top up with formula until the milk came in (resulted on a stay in neo natal as DS had lost too much weight and was dangerously dehydrated with high salt levels)
Anyway..... It hasn't put me off trying again this time, with some support.

TinyTear · 10/10/2013 12:21

Glad to help when the time comes...

I found some professionals gave bad advice... I had terrible advice from a Health Visitor who ended up with me and the baby in tears, but then the staff at the breastfeeding cafe helped a lot...

the same bloke also wanted me to supplement when she wasn't putting on as much weight as they wanted (but she had been born with inflated weight due to GD and me being on a drip) but i stuck to my guns and didn't give formula and she has been on the 9th centile since 10 weeks and couldn't be more on the line if she had written the line...

Katsan · 10/10/2013 12:31

Hi everyone I'm due around the 5 th I think. Third child, already have a 3 yr old and soon to be 2 yr old. Biggest challenge this time is we moved to France earlier this year, so still trying to learn the language. Luckily my gyne speaks English!

seatfor5 · 10/10/2013 15:32

Hi All I have been reading the thread for over a week now (my goodness its a long thread lol) and so now have decided to step it :)

I am 6+0 and due on the 4th June this is my 4th DC I have 3DS's :)

Penguin13 · 10/10/2013 15:51

Wow, congrats on your twin news PJen how exiting! I wish I hadn't watched the midwives on TV with DH as there were a couple of ladies on there having triplets and he now thinks it's highly amusing to keep telling me I've probably got triplets in there.

I had my interview today and I got the job! In the end I didn't say anything about being pg hope I did the right thing. Am a bit paranoid of saying too many details about the job just in case but I'll be working for a lovely health charity that does research into surgical techniques. I am really excited but for some reason having a wobble as to whether I'll be any good at it, not to mention what they'll say when a couple of weeks into my 3 month trial I have to tell them I'm expecting.

Welcome to the thread Katsan and seatfor5 and congratulations!

TinyTear · 10/10/2013 15:53
