I decided to take a peek into the antenatal club threads, but there's no June thread yet, although for good reason.

I may be jinxing myself here, but after a couple very very faint positives on ICs for the last couple days I got a positive on an FRER this morning, so thought it would be safe to start one up.

Of course, still early days, but if it sticks my due date will be 3-5 June, depending on several websites.... What can I say, I tested early!

I hope someone comes to join me soon. There have to be some more recent BFPs....

A giant thank you to all of the girls for your nice words. I am terrified and it may not last (RM patient) but am taking it a day at a time.

Liquidambar that is so annoying that your luggage hasn’t arrived!!

Welcome donnas

Nessie to be honest, you nailed it, I am TERRIFIED. Mainly because of the higher risk and that I already am an recurrent miscarriage patient.

AuntPitty don’t worry for lack of symptoms. It is really really early yet. ;)

Snowletusually nausea kicks in around 7-8 weeks. Hang in there, still early to judge ;)

Wispa I LOVE PARIS and am a bit jealous that you are off to there. I wish we were moving there too. Enjoy it!! Which area are you going to live?

Tiny I breastfed DC1 for a long time too (18 months) till my job made it practically impossible. I struggled in the beginning as DC1 was premie and couldn’t suck. A breastfeeding counselor told me to give up and be happy that my child is healthy. I hated her advice and started reading online to understand my options. At the end; I loved it. Hope I can get to experience it once again. I hope this is all real and is going to last.

Welcome Katsan wow our second member from France! Good luck!

Welcome seatfor5!

MASSIVE CONGRATS PENGUIN I am so happy for you. There is absolutely no reason why you should have told them. It is irrelevant information and you are still early stages and things can go wrong so they shouldn’t expect you to say. Don’t worry about it - besides the UK law is behind you. :) You will do great!

bludgerwitch · 10/10/2013 17:19

Penguin, congratulations on the job! Sounds like a great opportunity.

I know what you mean about feeling hesitant about not telling them about the fact that you're pg, but I thought I'd just point out that according to gov.uk you need to tell your employer at least 15 weeks before baby is due, so wouldn't need to speak up during your probation period!

(mind you, I went home 2 hours early today because I felt horrendous, I would struggle to keep it quiet)

SicknSpan · 10/10/2013 17:32

Hi all. How exciting Jen, twins. Double congrats! Thanks Thanks

Hello Donna and any other new folks out there I missed.

Good going Penguin on your job- I applied for a secondment at work the day before I found out I was PG so can understand your concerns! Haven't heard back yet but that's not unusual in my industry.

I am managing to not be sick very often at the moment- only once today . I was puking for England both times before by this stage so I am v. proud! But feel so nauseous all the time. Reassuring though.

Had my first midwife appointment yesterday, been put on the "porky plan" because I am, aherm, a tad overweight (BMI of 31 ooops) so need to see a consultant at some point.

Happy sticky thoughts to all!

Penguin13 · 10/10/2013 17:49

Thanks everyone Smile and thanks for the info Bludger I had it mixed up and thought it was 15 weeks in. 15 weeks to go is much better! That said I don't start till 04 Nov so I reckon I'll have to opt for some 'clever dressing' if I decide not to tell them till after the probation period....

NessieMcFessie · 10/10/2013 17:56

Well done Penguin - sounds like a great job!

CleverOl10 · 10/10/2013 18:05

I also have very few symptoms but am so busy at work that I haven't really got time for symptoms!

Am also on the high bmi scale. I lost a stone before getting pg but am still too overweight and will probably get told off by midwife. I was overweight last time too and all it meant was I had to have an extra test for pregnancy diabetes (all clear) and I did have high blood pressure but tbh being overweight made very little difference to my experience, just in case any first timers are worried.

PJen · 10/10/2013 18:13

I have to warn those of you that are in 5 wks and wishing for symptoms to be careful what to wish for! MS has hit me this afternoon and I can't barely function at work. I went and bought motionsickness bands (another set) and ginger and am sitting here feeling sick and green. This better not last long!

cheesysmile · 10/10/2013 18:34

Welcome Katsan and Seat!

Yay, congrats penguin, thats great news.

Good luck tomorrow Lucy, I really hope its still positive for you.

Sorry you feel rubbish pjen.

Not much to report here really, im just still really tired and have a bit of a jippy tummy today. Also I've been really hungry, worried im going to put on loads of weight before I even start showing!

lucyfluff · 10/10/2013 18:47

Thanks cheesey, not sure what time I will pop on as prob ring GP first.

Gingerandcocoa · 10/10/2013 19:05

Congrats Penguin, great news :)

I was thinking this morning... that the 2WW is nothing compared to this 8WW!!! Hopefully next time I TTC (in 3 years' time Grin) I will remember the 8WW and be more patient on the 2WW!

I am feeling better, Monday and Tuesday were really tough but I am getting a bit more energy now. Not sure whether that's a good thing or not but at least I am functioning! Nipples extremely sensitive so at least that's a symptom. I am going on holiday to the US tomorrow for a week, and I'm officially 5 weeks tomorrow. So I am hoping that MS doesn't get me until 6 or 7 weeks or ever.

IBelieveInEngels · 10/10/2013 19:29

Have a great holiday ginger - whereabouts in the states are you going?

Congrats penguin

liquidambar where have you travelled from (sure I saw a reference to Amsterdam...not another Dutchie?!)

Welcome seat and katsan

Well, still mild nausea (not enough to puke or put me off my food, but enough to reassure me...at least until proper ms kicks in!) But am so tired after 3 daysin the classroom. Half term for me now but have a stack of work to do over the next week as well as organise ds' s birthday, plant my bulbs, declutter the house blah blah blah.

Still, goignt o pick my welcome envelope up tomorrow from health centre/mw with all info about an testing, blood tests, what to expect etc. Exciting!

Penguin13 · 10/10/2013 19:42

Have a lovely holiday Ginger where in the US are you headed? Glad to hear your energy levels are perking up too.

You poor thing PJen and all the others who are feeling queasy. Hope you're all feeling better soon. I am definitely extremely thankful for my lack of symptoms on that score despite the seemingly inevitable slight paranoia!

Liquidambar · 10/10/2013 21:09

Congratulations penguin. When do you start?

IbelieveinEngles I am Portuguese living in Scotland. But I am in Estonia for work. I came via Amsterdam where my luggage got lost. I am big KLM fan and I travel a lot with them. This is the first time (with KLM) that my luggage went missing.

Just called home and DH and MIL have some sort of bug: high temperature, sore throat, vomiting. I bet DS will get it soon and I will not be there to look after him :( . However, I am glad I am away. It wouldn't be nice to get it.

Ginger enjoy your holidays.

Poor you, Pjen. I hope MS does not get very bad

I am only 4+4 and my appointment with mw is only beginning of November. But I have book an early scan for the end of the moth. I think I will be 7+4

Gingerandcocoa · 10/10/2013 22:42

Thank you all. I'm off to Philadelphia to visit family. Not been there before so quite excited. I'm hoping m/s won't kick in yet so I can enjoy a few Philly cheese steaks!

MrsDinoRawr · 11/10/2013 07:13

hi. can I join the thread please. I will try to read through the pages tonight to catch up. It would be lovely to have ppl to chat to as we don't want to tell anyone for couple of months.

I got a bfp yesterday on 13dpo on cb digital. I am 4+3 weeks.

last night I couldn't sleep. when I went to the toilet I had some blood in my cm. haven't had any since. worried all night and didn't fall asleep until 4.30. read online that this is common on day that AF would be due. has anyone else experienced this?

Gingerandcocoa · 11/10/2013 08:15

Hi Dino, welcome!!! Congratulations on your BFP!

I don't have much advice about the bleeding but I'm sure there will be people to tell you that it's normal, especially if it was just a little bit!!!

TinyTear · 11/10/2013 08:33

Hello Dino! Wecome to June!

Snowlet · 11/10/2013 09:05

Welcome Dino! :)

I have read (anecdotally) before that people have had a bit of bleeding (or up to a full period) when it was due, and still gone on to have a healthy pregnancy. It's been speculated that when your body does something for so long, it sometimes finds it hard to break the habit! If you're worried, I'd ring your GP and try to book in for an earlier scan. Have you scheduled your first visit yet?

lucyfluff · 11/10/2013 09:15

Hi ladies, I'm out :( CB digi said not pregnant this morning so it was a chemical.

GP was nice and said it's very common but we can start again ASAP, and that I'm not high risk so good news there.

I hope everyone continues with happy and healthy pregnancies x

Snowlet · 11/10/2013 09:21

Oh lucy I'm really sorry. I had one in January so I completely understand, and it's just as devastating no matter how early it is.... in fact, I call it an early miscarriage, not a chemical. My thoughts are with you, and I'm glad you have your mini person there to comfort you at least. Thanks

TinyTear · 11/10/2013 09:24

So sorry Lucy good luck for the future xx

Gingerandcocoa · 11/10/2013 09:35

So sorry to hear that, Lucy.

NessieMcFessie · 11/10/2013 10:42

So sorry lucy...wishes for the future.

Penguin13 · 11/10/2013 10:54

Oh no Lucy I'm so sorry. Good luck for the future x

TinyTear · 11/10/2013 11:12

Booked my 8w scan!!!!

I will be 7+5 next Friday at midday... Just told my boss I am working at home that day. He knows of the pregnancy and past history so he is ok with that!

eeeeeek!
