June 2014 (earliest of early days yet!)

I decided to take a peek into the antenatal club threads, but there's no June thread yet, although for good reason.

I may be jinxing myself here, but after a couple very very faint positives on ICs for the last couple days I got a positive on an FRER this morning, so thought it would be safe to start one up.

Of course, still early days, but if it sticks my due date will be 3-5 June, depending on several websites.... What can I say, I tested early!

I hope someone comes to join me soon. There have to be some more recent BFPs....

Good call, both of you. I waste a bit of money on CBDs that I probably shouldn't have. I got 2-3weeks three bloody times!

Know what you mean, Ginger - I'm 4+6 and am just desperate to get to a point where I can tell people!

bludgerwitch · 08/10/2013 21:33

I'm from Germany originally, have been in the UK for 5 years now. I'm already planning to take our little pea back home next year for my mom's 60ieth.

Squiglettsmummy2bx · 08/10/2013 21:58

Wow so many messages!! Hard to keep up on my phone.
I feel really well at the moment which is great but has me stressing too...where are my symptoms? That said I am eating much healthier, fancying far more sensible stuff & completely gone off of coffee, coke & some other random bits.
Feel nervous every time I go to the loo & have my tests in the kitchen cupboard & keep checking them to make sure the line is still there.
This will be DC4, I really should believe by now! Lol

adaloveslace · 08/10/2013 22:18

cheesy I'm the same due date as you and only got 2-3 weeks when I tested yesterday. I didn't test first thing in the morning though, so maybe that's it.

Squigletts did you find your eating habits were different depending on whether you were having girls or boys previously? When I was pg with DD, all I wanted was bread, scones and cakes (which she now loves far too much) whereas with my boy, I craved sharp, clean and healthy tastes. He loves his fruit - result! I'm going to try to cultivate a fruit habit in this one but I have been craving rubbish the last couple of weeks, even before I knew I was pg.

ladybird, that must have been a massive shock to find yourself pregnant on the pill. How are you feeling about it?

Congrats on all the 3+es.

Liquidambar · 08/10/2013 22:44

Wow, so many things to read! I will try to catch up before going to sleep.

Just checked in the hotel, but my luggage is still in Amsterdam! Just washed my underwear for tomorrow morning Blush This is pregnancy brain... I always have an extra pair of socks and pants on my hand luggage, but of course I forgot this time!

cheesysmile · 08/10/2013 23:19

Adaloves I think to get the wks most accurate you do need to use fmu so cud well be why. Also has to change one day, I didn't test yesterday but if I had it may have still been 2-3 who knows.

Liquid, oh no how annoying.

Those saying abt being nervous going to the loo, im the same, always worried im going to see blood. FX all will be ok tho ... must stay positive!

blondiedollface · 09/10/2013 02:06

Hey everyone! Feeling good to be on such a international thread! All British here, but I studied French, Italian and Spanish at University and am supposed to be starting as Cabin Crew with BA in January (bit sad to be putting that on hold for a year, but needs must!).

I currently work nights and am managing my sleep ok, but last time around 8-14 weeks I was exhausted ALL the time, not sure how that's going to work with a 16mo and 5 long night shifts a week!!

Congrats on all your 3+'s and early scans - am feeling v lax as appt with GP is booked for end of Oct as here they refer. I'm not super fussed as I know the mw won't see me until at LEAST 10wks and last pg my dating scan turned out to be at 13+4 Hmm Maybe it's just because I'm in the South West and things are chilled out down here?!

Still doesn't feel real, DH and I keep looking at each other and getting ever so excited :D

blondiedollface · 09/10/2013 02:07

Also, AdaLovesLace you have the best username ever!!

adaloveslace · 09/10/2013 03:12

Thanks blondie!

Feel the same as you - not quite real yet but it's only been 24 hours. I haven't even starting looking into care over here yet. Need to stop being so relaxed about everything - if it's like anything else in Sydney, it's probably impossible to get a booking with an obs.

blondiedollface · 09/10/2013 03:41

Oooh, down under sounds nice! I'll keep you company on the thread whilst I'm working nights!

DD is called Ada, so the name is v special to me :D

Sydney was super chilled last time I went, whereabouts are you? Once I eventually start my new job I'll be coming to Sydney every other month!

GillyBillyWilly · 09/10/2013 06:43

Morning all! Smile

I realised you're all introducing yourselves officially but I haven't done the same!

I'm from Devon but have been living in London for the last 5-6 years.

I love it here but Devon is home and DH and I want to move there eventually!

We wanted to move there this year but now we've decided its best to stay in London for now as we both get paid a lot more here than we would in the south west and it's worth me staying where I am for maternity leave etc...
So maybe after I've taken maternity leave and baby is a bit older we will think about moving Smile

DH is from London so he's a south east boy and I'm a south west girl!
I'm pretty much English through and through..... however my DH is half Irish and half Malaysian... Interesting mix! Smile

In other news, how's everyone feeling? Some days my boobs are so tender and other days they aren't really atall.
I'm also really bloated which is worrying me ALOT as I'm a bridesmaid this weekend and my dress was the perfect fit last time I tried it on (a couple of weeks ago) but I feel bigger already! Confused fuck!
The dress is in Devon so I can't even try it on for reassurance! AGGGHHH!

Anyone else got any other symptoms apart from sore boobs and bloating?
I'm only 5+2 so it's early days!

Hope everyone is doing well Thanks

TinyTear · 09/10/2013 06:50

Cold and exhausted are the main symptoms, and bloated and gassy (classy)

And as intro, I'm Portuguese, I'm 40 Eeek and have been here for so long I feel more Brit than Portuguese.

Have one 20 month old daughter and had 3 MCs before her.

Live and work in London as a trends consultant in market intelligence

Liquidambar · 09/10/2013 07:36

Oh Tiny I am Portuguese as well! I live in Scotland, and I love it apart from the weather Wink

This is really an international bus :)

Blondie being a BA cabin crew must be nice!

Gilly and Tiny I am so bloated and gassy.

New symptom: couldn't stand coffee this morning. How am I going to survive the day with 4 hours sleep and no coffee?

TinyTear · 09/10/2013 07:37

liquid we tried moving to Scotland a few years back but there were no jobs so we stuck to London.

GillyBillyWilly · 09/10/2013 08:08

Ahhhhhhh I caved and tested.... And I got my 3+ on a clearblue digi!!!!!
Hooray! SmileGrin

I've been so busy the last few days that I feel a bit out of the loop!

Hello everyone! Thanks for your congratulations about the wedding, we're full speed ahead! We get legally married on Friday and then have a humanist wedding under an old oak tree on Saturday. Us and the guests in wellies! My dress still fits, but wouldn't in a week or 2!

I'm really excited to be 5wks today, and would love to get my 3+ on my digi, but I might wait until wedding morning to give me a couple more days. My MCs were both at 6 weeks, so getting to there will be great. Dr's appt on Monday, so that should get the ball rolling...

I'm from Bristol, and we moved to Frome in Somerset 2 years ago. Love it here, friendly and easy going, and with an amazing mw unit a 2 minute walk from us!

I'm not very exotic, although I have travelled quite a lot, including Thailand and Cambodia with DS1 when he was 11. The great thing about him being older was that he was more adventurous and learnt so much about other cultures.

Sorry I'm doing all my posting on my phone and can't scroll to see what everyone else has said to mention you by name, but I'm enjoying seeing what's going on for people. When it's still so secret, having a space here is lovely. I hope I can pop in again before the big day x

tannyLoo72 · 09/10/2013 08:50

Gilly yay!! Grin

Penguin13 · 09/10/2013 09:45

Jumping on the introductions train, I'm temporarily living in High Wycombe having recently moved from East London with my DH although in about a month we'll be moving into our dream house in Bourne End, a village near Maidenhead. Can't wait!!!

My DH and I are both Brits but I have a little international travel in my background having lived in Singapore for 5 years and then France twice.

Symptom-wise I have got off very lightly so far. Aside from some terrible nights sleep and sore boobs I am fortunate enough to have had no sickness or nausea so far. I have had a bit of bloating and gassiness but have found that walking really helps with that.

Just in case moving town and house and being pregnant wasn't enough change in my life I am also trying to get a permanent full-time job. I left my previous position to start a massage therapy business but it didn't work out and have been trying to get back into full-time employment since May. I would feel that leaving my last job was a mistake had it not brought me to the verge of burning out and the fact that since I left they have replaced my position with 3.5 people doing the job I was struggling to manage alone! I have an interview tomorrow so we'll see how that goes. Any advice as to when to bring up the whole 'oh and by the way, I'm pregnant' thing? They wont have to pay me maternity because of the timing but I don't thing being pg is top of most employers 'must-have' lists....Equally I want to be fair to my future (potential) employer. I was thinking of mentioning it if they offer me the job, after the offer but before I accept.

Penguin13 · 09/10/2013 09:46

Oh and yay Gilly.

And welcome and congratulations to all the thread newcomers!

NessieMcFessie · 09/10/2013 10:29

Tanny congrats, have a great wedding!

Great news on all the 3+ stories - although now I am really worried that I can't do it! I can't find anything like that here - they are still cardboard sticks! I did find some pregnacare though so have started taking that.

I could go to the gynie and get a scan, but to be honest she is the only one here that speaks English and I had her for my last pregnancy and she scared me so much that my blood pressure went through the roof! I am trying to avoid it as long as possible. I am off to Italy with DH and DD the week after next so I think I will go for the first scan after that. Til then I will just keep my fingers crossed!

Not too many symptoms anymore - the sickness has more or less gone and boobs not so bad either - I don't know if that is good or bad.

PJen · 09/10/2013 10:51

Penguin I wouldn't bring up the pregnancy tbh. Why should you? You are not obliged to tell anyone at this point. By the way, why don't they have to pay you maternity???

Hello Everyone else!! I wanted to respond to lots of you but then forgot all nicknames :S I am on the phone so can't go back without deleting this message. I definitely do have the pregnancy brain. I have my scan in couple of hours and am a bundle of nerves. I am afraid of three things 1) no heartbeat 2) issues 3) triplets. My beta was relatively high so I have been obsessing about what to do if its triplets. I try to not think of it but it sneaks back to my brain.

CleverOl10 · 09/10/2013 10:59

Triplets?!! Oh god, I was worried about twins..... Shock

CleverOl10 · 09/10/2013 11:03

I'm 33 and live in the North West - and am probably as English as they come! My DS is 3 and a half and my plan (which so far is working!) was to have a second child just before he starts school so I can take him and pick him up for the first year!

Strange experience just now - went to the dentist and suddenly realised that she (plus dental nurse plus receptionist) were going to have to be the first people I told about being pregnant! She wanted to do x-rays and I had to say no. She then made me record the due date etc. Felt weird to be telling a random woman before telling my mum!!
On the plus side, I got my dental care for free! I thought that didn't start until much later, I'm only 5 weeks today!
