I decided to take a peek into the antenatal club threads, but there's no June thread yet, although for good reason.

I may be jinxing myself here, but after a couple very very faint positives on ICs for the last couple days I got a positive on an FRER this morning, so thought it would be safe to start one up.

Of course, still early days, but if it sticks my due date will be 3-5 June, depending on several websites.... What can I say, I tested early!

I hope someone comes to join me soon. There have to be some more recent BFPs....

Loving being on such an international bus! From the south east of England originally but met Dutch DH 7 years ago inSouth America. Raising DS bilingually and work in an International and bilingual school so have students from all over the world.

TinyTear · 08/10/2013 17:23

I'm Portuguese. But I've been in the UK for 13 years and married a Brit.

SicknSpan · 08/10/2013 17:28

Whoops. Didn't realise how long my post was Blush

Wispa I saw that episode last night too. Do you think we are going to be glued to them for the next 8 months?

Hello Julzy :)

Penguin- what is your interview for? Hope it goes well.

monkeybananas · 08/10/2013 17:34

Man, what a lot of messages today! Just had a lovely cup of (decaf) tea catching up with them.
I love hearing how everyone's doing. And Yey for everyone who got the 3+ they were hoping for (May have to buy another digi tomorrow!)
I've been getting a few twinges in my side today and of course that makes me panic every time I go to the loo but so far so good.
How's everyone else doing?

wispaxmas · 08/10/2013 17:34

I came to London just over 3 years ago to do a masters degree and met my husband about 8 weeks after I arrived! The rest, as they say, is history! I just got my biometric residence permit that allows me to stay for another few years, by which time I'll qualify for settlement/citizenship!

Tiny, we'll make it to that week somehow. Yes, I know Paris will be distracting, but I don't think it will be enough to take my mind off baby baby baby for 6 long weeks!

cheesy Yay you got your 3+, too! Gilly, when are you going to test again, it seems we're on a 3+ roll now!

That sounds awful SicknSpan - hopefully you will escape this time. This is my third too, no sickness on either of the other two thankfully.

Good luck with the job and country moves everyone - it is great to be part of such a transglobal bus.

3.30am here and I am wide awake, sneezing and snuffling. I'd forgotten about this symptom - does anyone else get it? This sleeplessness doesn't bode well for the next 9 months.

GillyBillyWilly · 08/10/2013 17:43

Hey wispa... Think I'll test again in a few days! Going away on Friday for my friends wedding so might test on Friday morning or might wait til I'm back on Monday!
Don't want to see 2-3 weeks again so want to leave it as long as poss!

CleverOl10 · 08/10/2013 17:52

Phoned the midwife today. Good news is that I don't need to bother with a gp referral, can speak straight to a midwife to book in my first appointment. Bad news is it's not til 6th November! So I'll be 9 weeks by then. And goodness knows when my scan will be. Oh well. At least I'm in the system now.

cheesysmile · 08/10/2013 18:02

Wow everyone sounds way more interesting than me ... I'm British, DH is British and we've never lived abroad! Oh well!

We have done a fair bit of travel though and I think I'm going to miss that. Those with children already has it stopped you travelling? We tend to get a flight and then wing a lot of it / move around quite a bit so I guess would just need to be more organised and stay more in one place. How old were your children when you first took them away (if you have)? Getting ahead of myself a bit here I know, but just thought about it. Oh also what about flying when pregnant? Assume OK at this early stage, but does it get riskier?

Sorry for all the questions!

CleverOl10 · 08/10/2013 18:18

We take our ds abroad a lot actually. Went on a cruise when he was 10 months. Package holidays in Europe sun spots most summers and even took him to New York the month before he turned 2 (so his seat was still free!) Not sure I will be brave enough to do it with two though!

cheesysmile · 08/10/2013 18:24

Thanks Clever, that's good to hear. I hope I'm as brave when I get to it.

PJen · 08/10/2013 19:09

IbelieveinEngels, do you work in international school in amsterdam? Oh gosh, if yes, you are god sent! I need to PM you! :)

I definitely belong to the international side!! Me, DH and DC1 were all born in different countries. DC2 will be born most likely in yet another country as we are on the move again. I have lived in 10 different major cities in 6 different countries. I will pay for it when I want to retire and have to go around the world to apply for my pension money and collect them. Ha! That sounds like fun!

wispaxmax I lived in Toronto for total of 6 years!! Love the city and have lots of friends there.

clever congrats on getting the midwife appointment.

IBelieveInEngels · 08/10/2013 19:17

We have travelled with ds between UK and NL frequently since he was 2 months old (car/ferry). This summer we went to NZ - 2 x 12 hour flights each way with a 20mo was interesting! Didn't fly after 1st trimester with ds but drove/ferry to a wedding in the UK at 7 and a half months pregnant and was frantically checking the P&O website to see if they'd let me on the boat!

I can see us sticking to UK holidays for the next few years tbh. We go back to see my family anyway. NZ was a last gasp as ds is just about to turn 2 so we didn't have to buy him a seat and no way we could afford if we had to buy 4 seats (unless we did some serious saving!). Plus, my best friend lives there and my sister is ther temporarily for 2 years on a working holiday visa. Even managed a MN meet up in Wellington!

ladybird0704 · 08/10/2013 19:24

Hi everyone, got my bfp last Monday and have been lurking for the past few days. Been a bit too scared to post as this has all been a bit of a surprise considering I've been on the pill and haven't missed any! Think I'm about 5+4 today and starting to struggle with symptoms. Haven't had a decent sleep in nearly a week and having bad headaches and dizziness. Anyone else having bad headaches? Paracetamol isn't doing the trick and had to come home from work early today as I couldn't stand any longer. Got my gp appointment tomorrow so hoping i can get my foot in the system.

IBelieveInEngels · 08/10/2013 19:24

monkey I know what you mean about worrying every time you go to the loo! No twinges here, though getting occasional twinges in my boobs.

Not in Amdam I'm afraid PJ* . Can point you in the right direction though if you need some help.

Oh and cheesy when we were in NZ we drove around, not spending more than 1/2 nights in the same place and had hardly booked anywhere in advance. DS coped fine he only threw up 3 times

TinyTear · 08/10/2013 19:25

I have taken my daughter to Portugal three times, when she was 10 weeks, then 7 months and then 19 months

My parents live there and they have only been here once since she was born

IBelieveInEngels · 08/10/2013 19:25

X-post with ladybird

TinyTear · 08/10/2013 19:30

And welcome to all the new people, sometimes gets a bit hard to find and name them all... a bit tough when i'm not that used to MN

Gingerandcocoa · 08/10/2013 19:32

Look at us all international Grin. I am from south america and husband is English. Came to the UK for a masters, got a job, then met him, and now I'm stuck here - in a good way of course!

For those of you who got 3+ in the CB digital, what DPO were you?

I was going to use my CB digital this morning with FMU, took the test out of the box (which had 2 tests), peed on it, kept looking at it and thinking something looked odd. "Where is the digital display???" - realised that the box had one normal test, one digital one.... POAS fail! (well, now really fail as got a very strong positive)

cheesysmile · 08/10/2013 19:48

Welcome ladybird Smile

Thanks Ibelieve and Tiny - its good to know coz I hate the idea of not travelling. I'm pretty impressed with the NZ travel with a 2 yr old! DH and I did 3 wks in NZ in a camper when we were younger, but not sure how I would have coped with a child as well in such a confined space ... DH was bad enough Grin !

Ginger I got my 3+ today at 5+3wks or 24dpo. Good luck when you do the digi test!

PJ, when and why did you live in TO? I've not really lived there since I finished university, but sometimes i miss it.

ginger, I got 2-3 weeks yesterday at 27dpo and 3+ today at 28dpo.

And welcome to all the newcomers, June is filling up fast Smile

As for me, I finally saw the GP about my rash and apparently it's a fungal infection! Bizarre that it's on the boobs, but apparently we preggos are more susceptible to fungal infections due to a dampened immune system, and I'm more susceptible to getting it on the boob because they're massive. Got a cream for it that's safe during pregnancy, though, so that's a good result.

GillyBillyWilly · 08/10/2013 21:00

Wispa! That's interesting.... I'm only 22 DPO so I think I'm gonna wait a bit longer before testing again and hoping for 3+ weeks!

GillyBillyWilly · 08/10/2013 21:05

Weird that mine said 2-3 weeks at 13dpo though... And still only shows 2-3 now a week later.....
But I guess hcg levels increase differently from person to person???

Gingerandcocoa · 08/10/2013 21:09

I am only 18DPO today so will wait until I am back from holiday on 21st to use my CB digital then...

only 4+4 - wish time would go faster!
