June 2014 (earliest of early days yet!)

I decided to take a peek into the antenatal club threads, but there's no June thread yet, although for good reason.

I may be jinxing myself here, but after a couple very very faint positives on ICs for the last couple days I got a positive on an FRER this morning, so thought it would be safe to start one up.

Of course, still early days, but if it sticks my due date will be 3-5 June, depending on several websites.... What can I say, I tested early!

I hope someone comes to join me soon. There have to be some more recent BFPs....

Sorry to hear that Seb.

I am feeling a bit queasy today. I have a familiar "the-only-time-I-don't-feel-sick-is-when-I'm-eating" feeling that remained with me throughout ds1 and ds2's pregnancies. But as I don't feel pregnant otherwise I'm glad because it confirms that I am! Totes effed up.

Pomdereplay- another unexpected pg here! So excited now that the initial shock has worn off. Although my brain has helpfully erased anything to do with pregnancy and tiny babies because it didn't think I would need such information any more. Will have to relearn everything.

GillyBillyWilly · 07/10/2013 06:36

Morning all Smile

Sorry to hear that sebsThanks

Question for everyone.... I was 4+6 yesterday so today I'm 5 weeks.... But all the apps say week 6.... I guess that's cos I'm now going into my 6th week Smile

So if I was to tell someone (I'm actually not but just hypothetically) do I say I'm 5 or 6 weeks?!

Just to add to my confusion, my doctor thinks I'm a week further along than I am based on my LMP but I know when I ovulated and conceived so I know my figures are more accurate.
My next door neighbour is a midwife and I was talking to her the other day and she said I will have a hard time trying to get the dr or hospital to change their minds now and they will probably always go along with the doctors date of 3rd June whereas I know it should be the 9th! Gah!

TinyTear · 07/10/2013 06:48

Gilly, the docs will go with LMP dates until the 12 week scan when they will adjust the due date by checking the baby's size...

for reference my LMP was 25th August so I am 6+1 today

GillyBillyWilly · 07/10/2013 06:54

Thank you Smile
My LMP was 27th aug but I didn't ovulate til cd20-21 which was 16th sept.

Next door neighbour midwife said even after 12 week scan the doctor will probably still insist that my due date is 3rd and that I will be fighting this "battle" throughout my whole pregnancy and that it gets annoying towards the end because they will start talking about inducing me when I know I'm not a far gone as they think! She said she went through the exact same thing! Hmm

What's that about? I thought they would see on the 12 week scan that my due date is more like 9th than 3rd and that would be that!

AuntPittypat · 07/10/2013 07:04

I don't know why they'd take the Dr's date rather than what the dating scan suggests (but I'm obviously not a midwife! Smile. With DD I had the same thing - I knew when we conceived and it was almost two weeks after the GP's initial date suggested. But then after my 12 wek scan the due date got pushed back 10 days. I thought it was normal for the date to change after the scan.

GillyBillyWilly · 07/10/2013 07:18

I think my neighbour is talking shit Grin
I'm gonna stick with my dates and see what happens at the scan.

Wonder when I'll get my letter Smile

AuntPittypat · 07/10/2013 07:28

I can't wait for the letter too. I'm so impatient!

cheesysmile · 07/10/2013 07:35

I'm 5+2 today Gilly and if I were to say I would say I was 5 wks rather than 6wks just coz im nearer 5wks ... dunno if thats officially correct but makes sense to me. My doc also thinks im a few days ahead as I didn't ovulate until cd 17. I'm sure dating scan is what counts.

I had a rubbish nights sleep, is anyone else waking up a lot in the night?

Snowlet · 07/10/2013 08:22

So sorry sebs thinking of you love Thanks

cheesy I was up at 4:50 this morning and that's been pretty normal, that is, if I can get to sleep before 2 or 3am.... people talked about pregnancy insomnia as a symptom and while at first I thought it was just brain excitement, now I think maybe they're right, there's no rhyme or reason to it, I just can't sleep well, I'm 5 weeks tomorrow

Cannot even believe how sore my boobs are, any touch, movement, stairs, oh god, they've already got huge too, DP is taking the piss

GillyBillyWilly · 07/10/2013 08:28

Yes! Cheesy!
I'm having terrible nights sleep at the moment... Tossing and turning and as soon as my brain is even slightly awake I'm awake for ages thinking about pregnancy and babies and appointments and scans and general excitement... Then anxiety through the roof... Worry... Then back to excitement... Then more anxiety... Aghhhhhh!

Snowlet · 07/10/2013 08:51

Also, what letter are people referring to??

TinyTear · 07/10/2013 09:16

Assuming the one with the scan details...

My scan is on the 18th November

GillyBillyWilly · 07/10/2013 09:22

Ooooh tiny when did you get your letter!? I want mine! I want to knooooow! Grin

Snowlet · 07/10/2013 09:38

Must work differently in Leeds, I was given a midwife appointment by my GP and assumedly at the first appointment we'll book the dating scan, don't think any letters are involved, maybe they're trying to conserve paper!

kirsty4609 · 07/10/2013 10:07

Hello...

Congratulations to everybody!!!
Found out im pg a few days ago... ive worked out my due date should be on the 11th June 2014. However i've not had much symptoms at all. But can agree I am having restless nights sleep but dont know if thats the excitement and my brain being active! Haha Booked in to see my doc on friday... this will be baby number 1 :) xxx

Snowlet · 07/10/2013 10:10

Welcome kirsty! there's a few first timers on here, including myself

We were all trying to work that out, whether the sleeplessness is a symptom or just nervousness/excitement!

TinyTear · 07/10/2013 10:17

Snowlet, they actually sent me a text on thursday asking me to call them, then I called (so they saved money) they asked me if the dates were ok (22nd Oct for the midwife booking appointment and 18th November for the scan) , I said yes ok and then on Saturday got the letter....

Snowlet · 07/10/2013 10:25

That's interesting, did they make you ring an 0845 number?? because that would be pants.... my first appointment is the 16th, so not long before yours, how far along will you be when you have the scan Tiny? because I'm desperate for an early scan to hear a heartbeat, even though people have told me that's a bad idea because if you can't hear it you'll panic, even if everything is fine

TinyTear · 07/10/2013 10:31

ha! no, just a regular phone number for the hospital
:-)

the heartbeat can be quite late, it wasn't till 14 or 15 weeks that I got to hear it and in some places they don't do it until the 20 week scan...

Penguin13 · 07/10/2013 10:41

Hi everyone, I'm a bit late to the party, and technically due in very late May but have a sneaky suspicion I'll be late since this is my first! Got my BFP with a clearblue digital on 28th Sept in the morning and I walked the Shine half marathon that night. Despite the giveaway that my modestly sized lady bumps suddenly looked like I had a boob job and the missed AF was somehow still really surprised! DH and I are over the moon.

Not sure how long my cycle is as I had a contraceptive implant, AF took a while to return after it was removed and got PG before my second one but tentative due date is 29 May.

I am cautiously optimistic and I am trying not to do any more tests 'just to make sure' since DH joked that Clearblue would be sending me a Christmas card thanks to my excellent custom Blush.....

IBelieveInEngels · 07/10/2013 10:55

Hi penguin and kirsty and anyone else who's new and I've missed.

I'm just snatching some MN time while DS is sleeping. Poor little mite is running a really high temp, woke us up at 4am so I am very sleepy and unmotivated to do anything round the house on my day off (though if he's still ill will have to stay at home tomorrow).

Is this DC2 for anyone else? (DS is almost 2, birthday next week!)

NessieMcFessie · 07/10/2013 11:18

Hello! This goes really fast!

I made it back from my work trip, and told DH, who is very happy. DD is sick at the moment - poor wee soul. I am a teacher, it is tough being in the classroom when I feel so sick! I just hope I don't have to run out in the middle of class!

Can anyone help me with vitamins? What do you take and can I get them online? I don't live in the UK and can't speak the language here....I can't find the ones I took last time.

TinyTear · 07/10/2013 11:20

It will be number 2 for me...

My daughter will be 2 in the end of January

I take the Boots own brand - just folic acid + vitamin D, can you get them online? where do you live?

Maybe something like pregnacare would be available in more places

IBelieveInEngels · 07/10/2013 11:27

I am only on folic acid (should pick up some more vit D). Where are you Nessie ? I'm abroad too (NL).
