Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
MummyBee87 · 23/09/2013 11:31

Ok, I think I'm close to tears, OH and I work together and one of his close colleagues/friend has just offered up a whole ream of her daughters old baby stuff, granted she's moving house so looking to make space etc, but stull she could put it on ebay and get some money back. I'm really touched how generous she's been we'll only need to buy clothes, bedding and a travel system at this rate!! :D:D:D Aren't some people just wonderful!?

Prambo · 23/09/2013 11:38

Whassat, Comms?

Prambo · 23/09/2013 11:39

Mummy, people are lovely, aren't they? Folks just love to give baby stuff away Smile

MummyPig24 · 23/09/2013 11:47

That's so nice mummy. I was so happy to lend out or give my baby stuff to people who needed it. We have a lot less money than last time so I hope we experience the same generosity

MummyBee87 · 23/09/2013 11:51

Prambo - honestly I'm so touched, I know a lot of people talk about things but then never follow through, but she's already said (due to moving) that she's washed stuff boxed it up and will drop it off on Friday. And I think it does encourage us new parents to donate things after we're done with them to other friends or family etc. I'd definately want to help someone else as much as she's helped us. X
Feeling rather Chipper! GrinGrinGrin x

HotCrossPun · 23/09/2013 12:01

Is Baldrick our first gender reveal? Have I missed anyones news?

Congrats! Thanks

It doesn't seem that long ago we were all moaning about how early on we all were, the nerves before getting to our 12 week scans etc. And now look at us! The next few weeks are going to be so exciting as everybody get's their news.

mummy What lovely friends your OH has Smile

Joll mimi Those kegal exercises are exhausting! We should all do them together at a certain time every day so we remember. Or somebody should post KEGALS every now and then. I didn't even realise you had to do them before the birth, I thought it was afterwards Blush

commsgirl · 23/09/2013 12:06

Mimi just search kegal trainer in the App Store. It's the first one (free) although you can upgrade. You can set two reminders a day on the free one but you can do as many as you like. The app runs you through it.

Mummyb that's so lovely :). My mum's colleague is giving us loads of stuff; it blows me away how generous people can be!

rescoonetwothree · 23/09/2013 12:13

hot great idea on the KEGELS posting! baldrick was indeed the first, you haven't missed anyone else's, unless they are being sneaky and hiding it from us!

Anyone else finding it confusing having two Mummys? One of you is gonna have to namechange.

So exciting Baldrick! I now can't wait to fine out what I'm having. October 18 seems so far away.

On giving/lending stuff, I've kept absolutely everything in the expectation that my siblings might produce children at some point in the last 10 years. They haven't. So I get to use it all again. Just have to buy a pram and some clothes/toys. I lent the stage 2 car seats and Moses basket to my cousin and I'm not hopeful of getting them back so I might have to buy those too.

Jolleigh · 23/09/2013 12:55

Congrats Baldrick (keep going to call you Balders...my dog is called Baldrick so we're used to altering it!)

I can sense I'm going to get horrendously jealous in the next 6 weeks...I'm due late in March so the 20 week scan isn't until November Sad Tried to put forward the case for getting a 16 week scan this morning to the OH and as I completely agreed we didn't need one this time last week, he's throwing all the logical things I said right back at me.

Rockchick1984 · 23/09/2013 12:56

Lyra car seats need replacing after 5 years anyway as the plastic can corrode. We've kept all of DS's baby stuff so there's very little we actually need to buy although that doesn't stop me wanting to spend

LyraSilvertongue · 23/09/2013 12:59

Jolls, damn DP and his logic!

Rock, really? I didn't know that.

LyraSilvertongue · 23/09/2013 12:59

I wanna go to McDonalds for lunch. I blame Pram.

commsgirl · 23/09/2013 13:19

I hate maternity workwear!! Treated myself to minstrels and a diet coke to cheer myself up. Has anyone found anything remotely nice yet?

MummyBee87 · 23/09/2013 13:31

Comms nothing at all, but luckily as i'd lost weight before getting pregnant my 'fat' clothes still just about fit Grin so i'm hoping to be able to get away with fat clothes for another few weeks then i'll invest in some maternity staples next payday!

IceNoSlice · 23/09/2013 13:37

Congratulations Balders!

comms - no. I'm waiting on a Seraphine delivery on Wednesday so I'll let you know if that's nice. However today I have on Next's passable slim fit black maternity trousers (£22 online only but you can pick up in store to avoid postage) a fairly forgiving non-mat top and a grey blazer I bought in Oasis last week for £40 that isn't maternity but is designed to be worn open (err no buttons!) so I'm hoping that will do for a while.

IceNoSlice · 23/09/2013 13:39

Oh and thanks for the good wishes folks. I feel better but not 100% so I might try to slope off earlier today.

Excited for moosey's news!

Prambo go swimming! Rock and roll, I know Grin

FoxMulder · 23/09/2013 13:40

Congrats Baldrick Our first girl! Yey!

Hottie I was taught the following in Junior 3 (year 5 for you young 'uns) about spelling diarrhoea, and it has stuck with me all these years, so I will impart it now Smile:

Dashing In A Rush, Running Hard Or Else Accident.

Maternity clothes: I have some nice work maternity trousers from Next.

HotCrossPun · 23/09/2013 13:51

Foxy Grin

I'm going to change it to - Dashing In A Rush, Running Home or Else Accident, because that's what I've been doing for the past 3 days!

FoxMulder · 23/09/2013 13:53

yeah, that's better actually! Grin

SoSurprised · 23/09/2013 13:59

Congratulations Baldrick

I really want a scan but DP is being all sensible and says you can wait for another 2 weeks. No point wasting money finding out something you will find out anyway. Sighhh

karamcleod · 23/09/2013 14:04

Anyone else tried using a chinese birth calender?

JustCallMeBaldrick · 23/09/2013 14:19

I did the Chinese calendar, and it predicted a boy for me... Having said that, it was right with my DTSs and DD.

Prambo · 23/09/2013 14:24

Ice, have you worn the mesh-sleeved pretty dress yet?

I've been out in the car! I felt proper lazy and didn't enjoy it much. I am a fast, aggressive driver and this sleepy li'l village is full of crumblies doing 15mph. I went to my friend, Ceri's - the one with the broken shoulder. I took her a Greggs pasty and vanilla slice but she doesn't like pasties so I ate it with my banana-flavoured spunky doughnut.

I went to the butchers for four pork chops...six pound seventy-fucking-nine!?! I cannot continue to support local produce when they charge shit like that. No way. It's 45p for a Pink Lady at my greengrocers so he can fuck off, too.

Tonight I am making pork chops braised with shallots (minus the cider Sad) with champ on the side. What the fuck is 'champ'? I hear you squawk. It's crushed potatoes made with cream, butter, spring onions & chives! Nice, huh?

Prambo · 23/09/2013 14:26

Oh no! This recipe calls for an apple corer and I don't have one! Help me, pliz?
