sultana have you got a special bump belt thing for the car? I've started driving to work in the last week instead of getting the train/bus (because I am lazy), and I can't make the seatbelt go across my lap instead of over my bump.

Hello lalunya and puggle!

Baby finally moved after I drank orange juice, two cups of caffeinated tea and a hot chocolate, and then ate a triple chocolate muffin. She waited until I got home and got the doppler out though - I was starting to get a bit worried. I can see she's going to be trouble already Wink

extracrunchy · 17/09/2013 19:47

Sultana I made Toby's brownies for DH today! BLOODY NICE. And also ate half the tin before he got home. Ahem.

extracrunchy · 17/09/2013 19:48

Ooh hi lalunya and puggle Smile

Swannykazoo · 17/09/2013 19:50

Cheers for the cake frizz I'm contemplating making my own carrot cake for the added fibre ahem.
Has anyone found any maternity jeans that have working usable pockets on the front? I'm baffled that suddenly I'll have no need to carry my phone/hanky/bus ticket/loose change/pretty shell now I have a bump. Or will I be issued a Bat man mama style utility belt by the midwives?
Any tips for getting these cursed emphasis things to work?

Swannykazoo · 17/09/2013 19:50

Oh cancel that its worked after all

Frizz1986 · 17/09/2013 19:53

More brownie talk Smile
I think we can all take something from extra eating half the tin.....make 2 tins and eat 1 so no one knows! Lol
I am off to get sone syrup sponge and custard before bake off starts. Its blooming cupcake week this week too (not on bake off but in actual life) and as we are uber budgeting i cant afford to make any Sad
Oh well......

Hello all, I just thought I'd share my freak out moment. We have no long mirror at home (haven't gotten around to putting it up yet) and I am in a hotel tonight for work tmrw.

So instead of stressing about tomorrow's work thing I am now totally freaked out at seeing my body in 24 wk pg glory (bump has materialised rapidly over 2 wks) in crazy bright hotel lighting, complete with what look like a few stretch marks starting at the side/back!

OMG...

TobyLerone · 17/09/2013 20:22

Yay for brownies!

Hi newbies!

I can't concentrate on the thread properly because of Bake Off. And also because DS and DH are talking about farts Hmm
But yays/boos as appropriate.

TobyLerone · 17/09/2013 20:23

Oh, also, I have some Next overbump maternity jeans with usable pockets front and back. They're not this season's, though, so I'm not sure if the current ones have them.

MrsGSR · 17/09/2013 20:42

book I've got one of the bump belt things, was about £20 from kiddicare. I love it, it's very reassuring, especially when we're traveling the 4 hours to and from our parents!

MrsGSR · 17/09/2013 20:43

puggle I can fit my phone and keys in the front pockets of my new look underbump jeans :)

TobyLerone · 17/09/2013 20:47

I've also got 2 pairs of underbump jeans with pockets, but I've never found them comfortable at any stage of pregnancy so far.

Naturegirl82 · 17/09/2013 20:48

All this talk of cake Dh just came in and he had baked me a birthday cake Grin He has never baked me a cake before. It tastes so good Grin Grin Grin

Naturegirl82 · 17/09/2013 20:49

Also I have some underbump jeans from mothercare that have useable front pockets.

Welcome to everyone new Smile

Angelesque · 17/09/2013 20:57

puggle my New Look skinny under bumps have usable front and back pockets, and they were £16, and I LOVE them. Prefer them to my Seraphine ones.

Lalunya85 · 17/09/2013 21:30

MrsAVB Another one here for team yellow!

Cake night for me too tonight - must be something in the air! Had a swim and cycle from work earlier though, so not feeling too bad about all that sugar! Shock

booktart It's so great when they move! Always makes me smile like an idiot at my desk at work when it happens. Colleagues must think I'm going bananas...

Do you guys feel movement every day? I'm at 22 weeks and feeling baby move every other day, but definitely not every day! Have so far resisted renting a doppler because I'd be listening in constantly...

Angelesque · 17/09/2013 21:37

Lalunya I'm 21 weeks and still only feeling flutters/twinges, and not quite every day. Anterior placenta here so I'm blaming that! Wish I could feel more though...

TarkaTheOtter · 17/09/2013 21:46

lalunya I'm 23 weeks and movements still only sporadic (although strong when I have them). I think it's once you're 28 weeks that you should definitely be feeling regular movements before that baby small enough to move without knocking the sides too much.

I'm not taking the weightgain website too seriously as it said I was 25- 30lbs under where I should be at this point. I get scanned/measured all the time though and baby is growing fine. It's just me who has lost weight.

Asos under bump skinny jeans (elgin?) are look great and are comfortable and have all the regular pockets of normal jeans. I LOVE them. They are better than my non-maternity jeans.

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 17/09/2013 21:56

MrsA your work really are shit, aren't they? How fucking ridiculous.

puggle and lalunya hello!

I have underbump mat jeans from Mamas and Papas which are okay, not great, and have back pockets only, not front - bloody weird, as far as I'm concerned.

lalunya I'm 24+4 and have movement every day. I didn't have it until about 2 weeks ago - HTH.

Bought the MOST GORGEOUS baby booties in JL today - little furry bear booties. I luffs them Grin

MrsGSR · 17/09/2013 22:28

hope I've been trying to avoid mirrors for that reason!

lalunya I've been feeling flutters for about 3 weeks but some days I feel very few, if any, and other days she's very active! Today has been an active day which is very reassuring after I dreamt last night that I'd lost her.

extracrunchy · 17/09/2013 23:38

Nature! Happy birthday! Thanks

Frizz1986 · 18/09/2013 07:58

layluna i am 23+5 and seem to feel strong movement every day about 5 or so times (starting to get a bit more regular) Some are almightly kicks, well to me they are but its still small compared to what i expect it will become (first timer so not really sure)
I have an anterior placenta too and only started feeling more regularly over the past week.

Oh and happy birthday for yesterday nature if my dh baked i cake i think we could lose the house in some kind of explosion. Hes better sticking to savoury things!

Best get myself ready for work after a painful hip aching night.
I did get my government from bump to birth and beyond letter yesterday so have asked to be signed up for that free antenatal class. Dh even said he would come which is nice as its on a Tues for 4 weeks and Tuesdays are his night out playing dungeons and dragons with friends so i am quite chuffed that he is prepared to miss it. Think he loves this baby more than he will admit already Smile

I am in next and new look over bump jeans. Have no idea on the pocket situation as i only carry dog poop bags lol. They are comfy tho and are starting to feel much more comfy than my new look under bump ones. I cant get away with skinnies with my almightly thighs!

And i properly weighed myself today and have put on about 19lbs Blush Think i am supposed to have put on 12-15lbs. Oh well if i am only 4 lbs over the whole way thru its fine. Maybe less cakes and biscuits and much more fruit!!

Happy birthday for yesterday, nature :)

I've been up for 2 hours now, being constantly battered from the inside. Huge, easily visible kicks, coupled with what feels like spinning/breakdancing. My entire abdomen is moving like the sea.
DH thinks it's amazing. I think, "get back to sleep!"

Consultant today. Can't imagine I'll be any the wiser when that appointment's finished...

extracrunchy · 18/09/2013 09:26

Good luck at consultant appt, Toby!

Sultanajo · 18/09/2013 09:42

Book I have the same problem! No, I didn't know they existed! Will look into it. Thanks! MrsG you would think the amount of time I have spent in Kiddicare I would have seen it, but clearly not!

Extra that's my fear! Won't be able to not eat them all!!! Frizz I am loving your tip on making two tins!!! Grin

hope Hotel mirrors are NEVER kind and their lighting make things look ten times worse! Step away from the mirror!!!

Toby am loving the bake off! Dribble!

Nature hope you had a fab birthday and ate ALL of your birthday cake!!! Grin

Humpty bear booties! Love it! Do they have ears (to continue your everything with ears theme)?

Toby can't wait til my tummy is dancing like that! Am sure DH thinks I am making it up that I can feel some kicks from the outside now, as whenever he tries nothing happens! Good luck with the consultant today - hope they give you some answers at least!
