Let's all sob together...

muminaquandary · 26/07/2006 20:11

IT'S RAINING OUTSIDE!!!!!!!!!!

liquidclocks · 26/07/2006 20:40

We're forecast for 22 degrees tomorrow! Yippeee!!!

Mind you, celebrations somewhat dampened by the fact I have to go to th dentist which is and hours drive away... Ah well, at least I hve one, should be grateful!

Is SPD when you get like shooting pains around where your bladder is but nearer to the surface?

puppy · 26/07/2006 21:07

Fingers crossed for a cooler day for us all.

Liquid the spd pain I have is in the pubic area and groin the pain sometimes travels down the inside of my thighs and between my legs. The pain is usually made worse by walking, going up/down stairs and rolling over in bed. The only way I ca describe the pain I have is a very sharp pain that burns and stings and when eases feels bruised iykwim. I am finding I need my crutches more and more now . Hope this helps. Do you think the bay could be on a nerve? uti?

puppy · 26/07/2006 21:11

Baby not bay lol

calvemjoe · 26/07/2006 21:20

Hellkat, congratulations on the arrival of your little girl, I hope you are both doing ok x

Clairemow, the consultant was great. I went with a big list of questions and got all of the answers I wanted. They are very cautous at my hosp and will give me another section if there are any problems at all and that has really put my mind at rest.

Another rain dance here, please cool down x

Marls001 · 26/07/2006 22:38

Congratulations Hellkat!!

liquidclocks · 26/07/2006 22:43

HK - forgot to congratulate you - well done! Hope you and LO are home soon.

Puppy- poor you, that sounds awful, it's definitely not that bad. Hadn't considered a UTI, will give midwife a ring if it's still there on Friday. I know SPD would be one thing to much though on top of the hip pain I've already got - I'm now resorting to lap top use only on the sofa but even that's beginning to throb. Going to have t reconsider maternity leave at this rate, I'm starting to dread the office chair. Sorry I sound so grumbly - DH is fed up of it so I need an outlet somewhere! MN is the best!

It's cooler already here - hope the rest of the country follows suit soon

Lysettes · 27/07/2006 09:22

morning everyone - erratic posts from me as am expressing every three hours like mad and off to the hospital every day!

jake is doing really well and has put on some weight already, and we are attempting to get him on the breast - he's being rather lazy as he can't understand why it just doesn't come through the tube to his tummy and why he has to actually do something to get the milk! he's got the sucking bit but not the latching bit - but he's only 34 weeks yesterday so.... fingers crossed!

we have now got a room at the hospital in the unit so we can stay over to be with him 24 hours so posts will be even more erratic, but rest assured i am thinking of you all (especially those managing hot food!!!!) and doing rain dances regularly - with my new ankles!!! am so pleased as i thought they were going to be shrek feet for the rest of my life!

and CONGRATULATIONS HK!!!!!!! another one for us september ladies! you must be so overjoyed!

lol everyone - try and stay cool, I know it's tough - even without being pg anymore

once i get the hang of how to do a link to photos i will - we have some wonderful ones of the little man

Bella23 · 27/07/2006 09:40

Lysettes - lovely to hear from you and that little Jake is doing really well. Can't wait to see pictures. Sounds like a typical boy, a bit lazy and expecting the work to be done for him!! Hopefully he'll latch on soon

Liquidlocks - I have terrible hip pain when I am sleeping but not so far during the day. They are quite tender to the touch at the moment so I am hoping that they don't get any worse.

Puppy - poor you, I didn't realise you were in so much pain that you are using crutches!!!
I hope you are getting lots of sympathy from DH!

POL - I simply can't stand the thought of a hotter August!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well no thunder storms as promised last night and rain came for literally 5 mins. I was awake, heard the rain start, felt excited as thought ye ha cooler temp on its way and then it stopped!!
Bring back the typical english summer of rain and cold days!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry moan over, just sick of the heat.

Hope all you ladies are having a good day so far............roll on the weekend xx

puppy · 27/07/2006 09:48

Its great to hear from you lysettes, glad all is going wel with you and jake , can't wait to see a piccie.

Liquid I must admit it is awful but at least I do have 3 out of four days with out a sympton until night. Physio thought that the babies position could possibly be making a difference. I would mention your symptons to the midwife when you next see her I had aching hips at the start of it and backache and was given a mat belt which has helped me alot. Regardig UTI signs are odor and a more concentrated colour and pain, they are common at this time of year as our bodies need so much water when I last saw my midwife she said that 40 pregnant women in this area had been admitted that week due to uti's as they had not been drinking enough.

clairemow · 27/07/2006 09:49

Hellkat, congratulations! I hope everything's going well?

Puppy, poor you! Take it easy, won't you. I've been having hip pain at night too, but I think it's just because I can't keep my hips, knees and feet all in line, and the bump pulls as well, so it all aches like mad. Also getting really sharp pains lower bump at night, so have to huff and puff to get out of bed to go to the loo. the joys of the last month! DH seems to go from being really sympathetic to a bit grumpy and short tempered - depending on how hot it is and how grizzly DS is...

thanks for that Calvemjoe - I'll make sure I take a list with me to our appointment on Tuesday. I'm beginning to veer back to a VBAC again now, bit like a pendulum...

DS has gone on his first nursery outing today to the beach! Bit worried about heat exhaustion in the sun, and also they aren't taking any buggies, so hope they've got him sellotaped to their legs... he'll be extra knackered this evening..!

puppy · 27/07/2006 09:56

I can't really complain when my friend uses a wheelchair and mobility scooter due to ms, at least when baby is born the spd will go and I will have a budle of joy , her ms won't go .

Well its DS last morning at preschool when I dropped him off there were parents handing over flowers and I saw one poor mum burst into tears as she drove off, hugs to her. Dreading going to pick him up as I will no doubt burst into tears when ds hands over his pressie and card to her to say goodbye. Will blame the hormones although I would cry if I wasn't pregnant
He then goes straight to his new school after for a introductionary session. He is growing up too fast .

Mixture of grey skys and sun here, still very hot though, where are these thunder storms?

mabel1973 · 27/07/2006 11:49

wow - mega thunder storm here last night last. we had a bit of rain, but it is still HOT!
Thanks for all your well wishes for DS, he is much better today although still running a temp. I put a cup of water in his room last night and at about 11pm i could just hear 'shlurp shlurp!' bless him.
DH had a run in with his mum last night. basically they never answer the phone and just pick messages up every now and then and this is the second time we have had an emergency with DS and they haven't been contactable, this is amongst other issues, but I think DH is just so frustarted with them - they won't change now though.
Lysettes - lovely to hear that Jake is putting on weight and you are trying to feed him, boys are so lazy though! It took DS a good couple of weeks to work out the latching on thing and he was a full term big baby!
Sorry to hear all those in pain, I am remarkably ok and my sciatica is much better (touch wood) than I was with DS, I am putting in down to the pilates I was doing before I got pg, good job really seeing as my midwife messed up my referral for treatment!!

compo · 27/07/2006 12:16

Great to hear from you Lysettes. Sorry too, to hear about all te aches and pains. Think it rained here in the night but now it's back to 29/30. Is there going to be any end in sight?!! Dh syas he's not sure how they can predict the weather until September yet so hopefully they'll get it wrong!!

mabel1973 · 27/07/2006 12:28

just remembered someone gave me a tip last night....
freeze a large bottle of water then put this in front of your fan, so rather than the fan just blowing the warm air around, it cools the air, similar to how an air con unit works.

Coriander73 · 27/07/2006 13:29

Lysettes...great to hear from you....I feel all teary now!! Sounds like he's doing really well & you must send us some piccies as soon as you can!! HK, that goes for you too!!!

Puppy, chin up

We had 5 mins of thunder last night which led to me rushing into the garden & letting the splatering of rain we got fall onto my huge body (I did have bra & knickers on but I'm not sure what the neighbours thought!)...then it was gone & the heat stayed with us all night. Can't believe it really....though we had a break through!!

puppy · 27/07/2006 13:44

Hiya we are back,

Mabel that is a fab tip, going to try that later

Coriander my chin is up now, lol at you diving outside in your underwear.

Well my little boy has now left nursery school, I didn't cry lol!
went to his big boys school for an hour he absolutely loved it!!!! He was not phased what so ever and his friend from nursery was there so thats good
He is going to have the same teacher that taught me and also the assistant is the daughter of the teaching assistant that was there when I was there.
It was so hot that I nearly passed out in the classroom , luckily I took my mum with me as she will need to know where to pick him up from with the baby being due sept, So I was able to stand out side with the bottle of water I had taken.

compo · 27/07/2006 14:17

Oh thank the Lord, it has finally started raining here

OP posts:
pol26 · 27/07/2006 14:19

Well, I thought it was going to rain last night but NO, nothing!!! Then again today and even rushed out to get the washing in... but NO just three huge spots and nothing else. GRRRRR!!!

When oh when will it cool down???

Lysettes glad to here that your boy is doing well apart from being a little lazy- typical male, eh?! Although i'm sure that you're pleased as punch!!!

mabel1973 · 27/07/2006 14:51

compo where are you - is it anywhere near nottingham??? I need some rain here.

mabel1973 · 27/07/2006 16:27

IT'S RAINING - YAY!!!!

clairemow · 27/07/2006 16:50

Where's our rain??? Is it coming from east to west this time??? Today started cloudy but has become hotter and hotter. Now not a cloud in sight, although it's less humid, but apparently tomorrow we're getting 85% humidity. My feet are already the size of a house - what will they be like tomorrow?????

clairemow · 27/07/2006 18:15

Just had to share with you - DS just did his first poo in the potty - totally unprompted!!! He was naked at the time, so I think that helped! But big celebrations here!!!!! If I wasn't pg, I'd have a v. large gin and tonic.... may have a small one anyway!

compo · 27/07/2006 18:58

Clairemow - congratulations to your ds!! i would definitely have a small g&T to celebrate
Mabel - I'm in the SE - it rained for about 10 minutes... gggrrrrr!
