Ugh up since 3.30 because DS had nightmares again and needed me in with him Confused So tired!!

Thisisfreakingmeout · 10/09/2013 07:56

I am impressed with anyone still i the closet. My outfit yesterday made me look about 7 months along and people at work seemed to find it fascinating how much the bulge had grown!

Are you bakers into Great British Bake Off? It is mine and DH's date night! We take turns picking up some cake and watch GBBO together. Then wish we had more cake! (We are so rock and roll)

19+3 (and desperate for my scan on Monday!)

winterflowers · 10/09/2013 08:32

I would definitely be in the eating team if we had a baking meet up.

Sugar, I had a gazillion apples and just made a huge batch of apple sauce. I've found it's a really nice snack and I made enough to freeze.

I still haven't told my work as yet as really wanted to wait for the 20wk scan but I actually have a bump now (16+1) so think an outing is imminent. There's another girl in our team pg tho and we are still understaffed so not sure how it will go down...

laura0007 · 10/09/2013 08:50

My 20 weeks scan is one week today! The next 7 days are going to dragggg! Then ill hopefully know team blue or pink (but I know it's team blue in my head!)
Baking meet up sounds great! I can bake when I can be bothered so maybe ill just stick to the eating side!

Thingymajigs · 10/09/2013 09:13

I'll be the cheesecake taster!
I'm also very impressed with those keeping their pregnancy a secret. I feel massive, but probably just look like I'm quite fat tbh.
My scan is in the 20th when I'll be 20+4 or 5, I'm never quite sure. Either way I'll be desperate to see the baby by then. Can't wait to see more of the scan updates.

Littleen · 10/09/2013 09:49

I love baking, and also Great British Bake Off - which I haven't seen that much of, but reaaally enjoy ^^
Still not looking that pregnant, little bit jealous at you guys! :P

jazzcat28 · 10/09/2013 10:09

Cake in a mug epic fail last night - no self raising flour! I'm going to go to the shop tonight and make it later for GBBO viewing. I shall post a pic to FB of whatever it turns out like!

I decided to work from home today to aid the tiredness levels and only told one of my team my plans. Today I've been bombarded with texts and emails 'are you ok? you haven't come in, are you feeling unwell?' Everyone seemingly very concerned about me and bump! Makes me feel a bit loved.

Had my response from HR dept re taking annual leave at start of ML. They said it's not common policy for that to be done, most people put it on the end so they have more time with baby. But if I could agree a suitable arrangement with my line manager that would be ok. I definitely can't take the future bank holidays though, so it would just be annual leave entitlement.

So now am thinking take a few days off over Christmas, return to work 2nd Jan - 17th Jan, then take 2 weeks annual leave before starting ML. Means I'll be stopping work at 36 weeks but getting full pay up to 38 weeks.

Vix - hope you've been able to get some rest.

Jazz - glad you're a step closer to arranging your finish date. I hope my work doesn't take the same attitude on the leave before mat leave although I would lose the leave if not so don't think they'd be able to.

Thisis - I love great British bake off. Looking forward to the soggy bottoms this week! I'd def be on the eating team if we have a baking meet Smile

pettyprudence · 10/09/2013 12:19

Where do I sign up for eating cake Grin

I was going to try the cake in a mug but didn't have any cream/ice cream to go with it and didn't think it would be right with out this! I have previously made microwave sponge pudding though, which again takes about 5 mins from scratch and you can chuck in jam or golden syrup - yum! Didn't have any custard in for this though. Harumph. DH wasn't even here to send to the shop so had to have a chocolate/cake free evening.

jayney86 · 10/09/2013 12:40

Not had chance to catch up on this or the tail end of the last thread but want to pop in & say hello.
Bit crappy some are still feeling ill, I'm just feeling tired alot so not much to complain about. Slight bump but think I just look a little fat! Had my 16 week check yesterday all good, heard babies heart beat was nice & strong & definitely sounded like a train so confirming my thoughts of another DS Smile!
Hope everyone has a good week & enjoy your scans if you have them Grin x

jazzcat28 · 10/09/2013 12:40

petty I'm craving all things autumnal and stodgy (had strudel and custard last night) - please tell me how to make a sponge pudding in the microwave?! I have a pudding bowl, ice cream, custard, jam and golden syrup all ready to go..

Still team yellow but all this stodge could indicate a boy...

17+3

Here is micorwave sponge pudding. I am always craving stodge. I am currently looking for lunch ideas from my colleagues. They havne't offered me anything carby enough yet

marzipanned · 10/09/2013 13:01

Weirdly enough I've mainly gone off sweet stuff but am loving stodgy savoury stuff - risotto is in regular rotation at the moment.

petty I think you need a chicken pot pie right now, but what are your options? :)

tinypolkadot · 10/09/2013 13:13

Currently enjoying a hot chocolate with 5 scoops! Mmmm. Top instant hot chocolate tip - mix a little bit of milk with the hot choc in the cup so it turns into a paste before adding water, it makes it lovely and creamy with no floaty lumpy bits.

pettyprudence · 10/09/2013 13:44

Oh bugger, now I want chicken pot pie but I have just eaten an egg mayo baguette. I can have chicken pie for tea.

marzipanned · 10/09/2013 14:31

petty if you can be bothered (maybe not tonight but at the weekend) this is absolutely delish:

Milkandtwo · 10/09/2013 17:29

First kicks felt today! 18+5. 3 sleeps until scan...

Milkandtwo · 10/09/2013 17:30

...AND bake off tonight. Today is a good day. Smile

misskatamari · 10/09/2013 18:04

All this talk of yummy food is making me want cake and pudding so badly. Hoping to get my baking mojo back this weekend as I haven't done any for ages and I love baking (and eating!)

Was in the office today and the receptionist was all "how are you?" Big stare at my belly and told me I'm "blooming" lol. I think quite a lot of staff know as I told some who I knew would gossip as I find it weird to drop it into conversation so thought I'd let em do it for me. Don't know when to start telling my classes. Will probably feel better about it after scan next week and I'm gonna need to sit down more and not run about all day as I'm aching so much being on my feet all day already.

For all the teachers on here - apparently we get paid holiday pay in the month before we go back as work. I didn't realise this so is good to know as will only mean 2 months unpaid (I think) if I take the yet off.

Fajitas for tea - cant wait!!

misskatamari · 10/09/2013 18:05

Oh and I LOVE the idea of a bake off date night with lots of cake to eat Grin

marzipanned · 10/09/2013 18:32

Milk what did the kicks feel like? Proper kicks or something else? I've had quite a few of these lower abdomen twinges now but I still don't know what I'm feeling there if anything!

laura0007 · 10/09/2013 18:34

Wow milk, it's amazing isn't it! I've been feeling them since Saturday and I'm 19+2 today. It feels a bit like when you flick yourself with your thumb and finger but on the inside!

marzipanned · 10/09/2013 19:14

Ooh..maybe that is what I'm feeling then. But it was only a few times yesterday and a couple more this morning so I'm really not sure!

laura0007 · 10/09/2013 19:16

It could be! I felt it twice on Saturday a couple of times on Sunday, didn't feel it all yesterday and just been feeling it again now, 4 or 5 little kicks in a row!
