Oh, Mummy, will I ever cope with pissy beds? Sad

PramQueen1971 · 03/09/2013 21:18

MaybeIt'sMaybelline, how are feeling, chuck?

Lyra, are you okay with your lovely man away?

Can someone take this massive 33% extra free bag of fruit Mentos off me..?

MummyPig24 · 03/09/2013 21:24

The ironic thing is lumpy that ds has spent plenty of time over the holidays, of his own volition, at the table writing and drawing!

MummyPig24 · 03/09/2013 21:26

pram, there are many, many things that right now, you could never picture yourself coping with. But you will surprise yourself constantly throughout your child's life.

Poonamis, standing in the shower at 3am trying to was sick off a double sheet, picking bogeys out of their nose, wiping up piss. It's all coming our way!!

Lottie345 · 03/09/2013 21:31

Anyone else watching midwives on bbc2? Emotional. And a
Bit grim

PiratesMam · 03/09/2013 21:34

lottie I am - its really annoying me how they keep calling vaginal birth a "normal" birth. Way to make C-sectioners feel great! Hmm

Lottie345 · 03/09/2013 21:38

Ha yes. Hadnt thought of that pirates. Making me think a birth centre a 40 min ambulance trip from a dr led delivery centre might not be ideal for a first time birth...

Lottie345 · 03/09/2013 21:42

This girl's name is Gazelle. Like a leaping deer

PiratesMam · 03/09/2013 21:43

Her husband is soooooo creepy!

Coolhand · 03/09/2013 21:43

Total - it's hard to get news like that - what are your next steps. Plenty of virtual hand holding on her.

Nomaybe so glad you went to the GP - now please take a good rest, your body def needs it.

On exercise front, I try to use my exercise bike every other night. My chief concerns are trying to ensure I have the stamina to make it through pregnancy when I work long hours and keeping some level of fitness up for labour.

On that note, I'm tired and I have loads more work to do before tomorrow. Have been procrastinating on here but must get back to it.

One recent upside is that I haven't needed to get up to pee the last few nights. Presume uterus has moved up and not putting so much pressure on bladder thankfully!

LyraSilvertongue · 03/09/2013 21:49

Pram, I've always thought of you as just being an open person, not that you're trying to shock. I'm frequently amazed at the challenges you've dealt with and come out the other side. You are one tough cookie. Pissy bedsheets will nor faze you, woman!

I'm doing ok without DP. The trick is to try not to think about him, like when my boys were away on holiday for a week without me. Put it in a box and get on with it till it's over. I'm quite envious that he's sunning himself on a beach and swimming in the Med while I'm doing the same-old same-old. Grr!

Mummy, I think nothing of picking boogers out of my boys' noses. I couldn't do it for any other child though. It's so different when they're your own. Even their poo isn't that offensive (until they start eating solids...)

FrankelInFoal · 03/09/2013 21:51

I'm watching Midwives too, but am more than a bit Hmm at the "au naturel" couple. I'm all for doing things aurally, but why make yourself a martyr and reject everything even cooked food???

Lottie345 · 03/09/2013 21:51

cool I know what you mean about exercise. I went for a run yeterday and my knee still hurting. Find it hard to find time to fit in classes or whatever around long work hours. Or to get motivated. I loved running. Sort of.

pram your doctor sounds like an idiot. Get a second opinion if you can. Made your spring chicken this eve. Ok Got DH to make it. Great recipe. Minus chips sadly

pirates he's creepy and that deer girl is annoyingly
Pretty and neat bumped. And doing it all au naturel

PiratesMam · 03/09/2013 21:52

Total I completely understand your worry, must have been such a shock. We are here for you. What is the next step? A diagnostic test?

I had my booking in appt today, midwife is trying to convince me to have a home birth. Tempted from a convenience point of view (last time was quick!) but husband wouldn't cope too well and I'm not that bothered really. Do quite like the idea of the midwife-led unit at my hossie but they only have 2 rooms. We'll see. It will come out somehow!

FrankelInFoal · 03/09/2013 21:52

Doing things naturally not aurally FFS

TotalShock · 03/09/2013 22:37

Comms mimilli sosurprised really great scan news x

Grey coolhand and pirates they said I can have an amnio next week which is a bit scary. It was a shock as the measurement of 1.9 was ok so DH and I hadn't been worrying about it. Then I got the call and my heart sank

Lumpy I know there are worse odds and if I was looking at someone else's result could be positive but when in that moment it's you, I become irrational and pessimistic if you know what I mean?

Comms MTB mummy Lyra ice slippers thank you for the support

All of you it really does mean a lot. Sorry I couldn't get back sooner to thank you all. Thank you x

rescoonetwothree · 03/09/2013 22:48

total at least you have the option to find out for sure, hope your dh is being extra nice. someone else on here has had an amnio/cvs, I'm sure they'll be along in a bit xx

not sure how i feel about the midwives programme, not as funny/good as obem, me and dp think the gazelle and husband were scientologists or some sort of cult. for some reason they just reminded me of the people in those john sweeney scientology documentaries (if you haven't watched you should!) pirates he made my skin crawl!

Jolleigh · 03/09/2013 23:09

Can't find the Midwives on iplayer yet. Does anyone know how long it normally takes?

commsgirl · 03/09/2013 23:11

Total I hope you don't have to wait too long. Keep taking to us :)

Maybe Hope you're feeling better after having a day of rest lovely.

Pram Definitely go see a second GP - yours sounds rubbish and a bit thick. You can do it, but with the right support and he isn't it! Fruit mentos are amazing aren't they?

So happy you had good scans too Mimi and Surprised

Gawjus Just echoing what everyone else has already said but put yourself, baby and your safety first. Nothing is worth compromising that. I'm sorry you're having to deal with this situation x

I've been avoiding watching Midwives but think I will after reading this conversation! Love Bake Off, and Sue (not so much Mel), but have to wait until DP gets home at the weekend to watch that.

Any scans tomorrow? Jol I think you might be next!

Lottie345 · 03/09/2013 23:15

J

Lottie345 · 03/09/2013 23:20

Oh for the love of all that's holy this page has been flipping out on my iPhone. Apologies for the 'j' post

jolls I think it's an hour or two

total a friend of mine was telling me she had CVS with both pregnancies. She wa terrified but both came back just fine. I know it's not much help til you actually know for yourself. Big hugs

PramQueen1971 · 03/09/2013 23:30

Lottie, I'm glad you enjoyed the spring chicken one-pot. This is another firm favourite which I make with chippy chips vegetables and garlic crushed potatoes.

I guess my GP does sound like an idiot, but he's Lebanese and we largely speak by sign language. I get the feeling, from his gurns and inane grins that he finds me a tad amusing, even when I'm shouting at him.

Jolleigh · 03/09/2013 23:30

Ta Lottie Smile

Comms - think I might be next. Haven't seen any posts about any scans tomorrow anyway. Yet we still don't have a set of twins Confused Don't know what I'd do with 2 arriving at the same time.

justmuddlingthroughit · 03/09/2013 23:31

pram, your GP is an arrogant wanktard. Get another one pronto. Having been on antidepressants I can categorically state that there is most definitely a difference between 10mg and 0mg in terms of effect on mood, which my GP understood.

gawjus, look after yourself and your baby. I personally would consider very carefully before giving the news in person to a man prone to violence.

total, I would react the same way to that news. I hope you get an answer soon, and know you've always got us lot to keep you company.

maybe, glad you have been given space to rest and regain your strength. I hope you have a willing slave to pander to your every need!

PramQueen1971 · 03/09/2013 23:42

Muddling, I know you're right. I have a high tolerance for weird shit going on in my head so to suggest I am imagining these withdrawals is just plain bullshit. He has evidently never been in my shoes and has learned his theories about depression and antidepressants from some text book, but I will get what I want. Oh, yes...I will get what I want...
