enjoy your baby shower Roofio, and hope your thrush gets better soon x

It's my birthday today, and am being very spoilt! but if i eat all the chocolate they have bought me I will have a 10lb er! glad there's lots of them to eat it all for me Grin

Sorry so many of you are having trouble sleeping. Im ok as long as I have a bath before bed (so i am relaxed and my back isn't sore) and as long as I don't have an alarm set. If I do, I seem to not sleep as deeply, and then struggle more, so not looking forward to the kiddies going back to school. I don't usually have to get up in the night for a wee - yet!

I have never made dh get up in the night, as he gets up at 4 am anyway, and I have mostly been a sahm, so would be a bit mean - and also a bit pointless as I have always bf anyway.

Shirehobbit · 31/08/2013 10:23

Happy birthday, Caz!

Have a lovely time, Roofio and I hope your mouth recovers.

Hot water with lemon, Ana and Fruit Pastille lollies? Feel better soon.

Just had a home truth/full and frank conversation about in-laws with DH. Poor boy feels stuck in the middle, but probably better talked about now rather than when exhausted with a new born.

Tarlia · 31/08/2013 11:03

Happy Birthday, Caz! Enjoy your choccy mmmm. Yours and DH work situation is very different though as the cows still need milked, baby or no baby. I'm talking about dads on paternity leave and full weekends off.

Enjoy your shower, roofio and hope that thrush clears soon. Have you some oral gel?

ana get well soon Flowers

Wonder if femanist had our second baby...?

Natalieand · 31/08/2013 11:31

Happy birthday caz xxx

Wickedgirl · 31/08/2013 11:42

Happy birthday caz

Pinkforboys · 31/08/2013 12:20

Rats, I catch up and then forget who's done what!

Caz Happy Birthday! A great day for a birthday (I say surrounded by DS's balloons, cake and opened parcels). Hope you get spoilt rotten x

Prisci is it you with the MiL from hell? Your DC sounds incredibly talented for 5- you're doing a great job, ignore whatever your MiL says.

I feel so sorry for the mid-night wakers. I hope you get to rest today.

I think Madam turned in the night cos I'm now getting lots of movement under my ribcage rather than at the sides. It hasn't changed the shape of my bump tho so I'm still getting the 'You've still got 7 weeks to go Shock!' comments. So depressing. (And I swear I havent put on as much weight as I did with DS)

DS is making super hero birthday lego with his Daddy. I can't believe it's 6 years since I was enduring contractions and waiting to go into hospital- and I'm going to do it again soon!!!!!! Grin

Better go make birthday lunch. I'm looking forward to seeing how this rainbow cake looks inside!

Happy day to you all xxx

Pinkforboys · 31/08/2013 12:22

ps- meant to say LOVE THE BOOTS!!!!!

favellio · 31/08/2013 12:25

happy birthday Caz Grin Thanks

JellyCurls · 31/08/2013 12:29

Happy birthday Caz have a lovely day.

Pink our baby also moved last night but no idea what way it's lying now Hmm but bump is a lot lower and seems to be fatter so thinking might be lying transverse again. So am sitting bouncing along to kids tv songs while sitting on my gym ball typing this in hope will turn head down again. Quite nice being able to breath again though Smile

roofio87 · 31/08/2013 12:42

thank you!!
yes I have some gel for it that I put on all night so it is a little better today I think!! Smile

PseudoBadger · 31/08/2013 13:27

Have I missed seeing Flyer in the last 2 days?

Happy birthday Caz!

Sparkeleigh · 31/08/2013 14:16

Afternoon everyone, I'm having a nice lazy day with a new book and refusing to leave the house, it's bliss Smile

Happy Birthday Caz! Cake

umlauf here's the recipe for chickpea curry, I hope these links work... www.evernote.com/shard/s204/sh/a178555e-2277-48c7-bee1-7691348d698b/7f9dbef9d6e7c1bf9941011b83223e07

shire those are all lovely names

monkeytree wow, that must have been terrifying for you Sad thank you for sharing it though, it is reassuring to hear how well protected the babies are in there..

Prisci wow, you deserve a medal for not braining her with her dirty dishes! Time for you to kick back and relax now, you've earned it!

legallyblond · 31/08/2013 15:08

Shire I meant to say that I love your names. My faves are probably Teresa (Tessa) and Lawrence (Lawrie), although my brother is a Laurence so I always spell it that way instinctively (his nn is Lols). Also you asked about going into labour early - I just have to hot foot it into hospital the moment I feel that I am remotely going into labour (ie any sign at all like wafers or a contraction or two). I laboured fast for a first child with DD (9 hours from very first twinge to finish) and because I have the cervical stitch, it could cause damage if labour progresses at all. So I'd go straight in and ASAP have an emcs.

Tarlia - I appreciate your opinion! That's basically the choice I have made. Discussed it with DH (I have an appointment a week pretty much so he never comes along!) and I'm going for the elcs.

Prisci your MIL sounds awful!!!!

Happy birthday Caz and happy birthday for your DS Pinkforboys!

Also, can't remember who was discussing it, but DD starts school (pre prep nursery - they start in the term they turn three - she's just doing mornings) and I have discussed the new arrivals a lot with her teacher who has warned me she may have a wobble but all the staff at school are fully ready to give her extra support Smile

legallyblond · 31/08/2013 15:09

Oh, and hope Flyer is ok.. We haven't heard from her since the stuff with her DP, which is unusual.... Sad

legallyblond · 31/08/2013 15:11

He he... wafers as a sign of labour!

Shirehobbit · 31/08/2013 16:26

Fingers crossed for a nice, uneventful time until your ecs date then, Legally Smile.

I hope everyone is having a good day - just hung out the washing and it is really autumnal (in a nice way) up here today. Kind of brought me up short - autumn (and therefore our babies) really is just around the corner. Eeeek!

After our conversation this morning, when the opportunity presented itself, I encouraged DH to head off to the Shire to watch the football/stay with his parents. Chances to do spontaneous trips like that will soon be rather limited, I suspect Wink

Thank you so much for your name responses, you're all lovely Flowers. Of course, this baby will now arrive and look like a Fred or Greta or something! But it was really nice to see them written down, too.

Baby is oddly active today - not in a kicking way, but like they're stretching out in odd directions. I've had deep pressure under my ribs, out to the sides and into my pelvis at various points. It's weird.
Anyone else felt something similar?

Natalieand · 31/08/2013 16:29

I literally feel like sitting on the sofa and crying and feeling sorry for myself

The house I viewed was absolutely vile, I've nothing against foreigners except when there's like 100 of them living in one house and then it looks like a squat in there... So don't be accepting that

Dh's nan was meant to be babysitting tonight after letting us down twice in the week so we could go out for a meal together but she has just let us down for a 3rd time! I would rather people just said no in the first place

I was meant to be going to a family race day tommorow with my sister her 2 kids my mum dad other neice auntie uncle and her grand kids... Turns out dh forgot to book my ticket so now dh has work everyone's going to that and me and dd will be home on our own

Feels like the world is against me even though in the grand scheme of things its 3 petty events. I just feel like I've had enough of life's crap at the moment :-(

JellyCurls · 31/08/2013 16:41

Sending you a huge hug Natalie that would be enough to get you down without being pregnant. Why don't you and DD bake cakes tomorrow or something to take your mind off today.

I am doubled up here with what I hope are braxton hicks. Had a drink, moved position etc but they still there and are really annoying and a bit sore. Any advice on how to shoo them away?

HotSoupDumpling · 31/08/2013 16:43

Oh Nat that is all very depressing. Is there any way you can have a couple of luxuries (hot bath/cup of tea/chocolate) tonight as a consolation for the rubbish you have had to go through?

Caz - happy birthday! Ana hope you feel better soon. I hope flyer is okay.

Shire - my baby does the same, lots of slow stretches, turns etc so that bits of it jut out under my ribs and sides. If I'm at a desk or table, it has pushed my stomach against the table!

Shirehobbit · 31/08/2013 16:45

Aw Natalie - I think you're totally entitled to feel miffed at the world Sad
I remember, when we first moved to Manchester, we needed to find a rental property quickly. The problem was we had a dog. Of 100 available/suitable places, only 3 would accept a dog. And they were all dives. I sobbed - it seemed so unfair we were being treated like 2nd class citizens just because of my hound.
In the end, we found a lovely place by going through the small ads, rather than the agents. But I guess we were just lucky.

Here's some virtual Brew and Cake for you x

OrangeBlossom2 · 31/08/2013 17:20

Sorry you have been let down again Nat and that the house wasn't as good as you hoped. Might end up being a good thing in the end that you don't have to move at this stage.

Have the Braxton hicks stopped Jelly?

I have the stretching out moves too, I imagine the baby yawning and stretching.

Back from visiting family in Oxford, munching a quick take away pizza before an engagement party tonight. Very stiff from sitting in the car in traffic, I don't think we will be doing many more motorway trips BB (before baby) now.

Tarlia · 31/08/2013 19:23

Jelly How are you? How many weeks are you?

Nat sorry you are having a crap day. Shame the house didn't work out. If you are still worried about the bedroom sharing, please don't be, they will love it. Recommend 'room mates' wall stickers from Amazon if you want two different sides to the room. We just got some which we will use in the baby's corner of our bedroom until the move in with DS.

Shire my baby hasn't been kicking for weeks now, just wriggling and pulling its limbs down the sides of my tummy. I also get the table pushes if I dare get too close!

orange sounds like a busy day. Hope you have a lovely evening.

DP just seriously asked when we should have number 3.. Tennis Bear

PseudoBadger · 31/08/2013 19:30

I have a thread in Behaviour if anyone with recent experience of a 2 year old can help! It's been a horrid day :(

Nat sorry the house was shite x

Hope you're feeling better Jelly?

JellyCurls · 31/08/2013 19:44

BH have stopped after a quick bath thinking I have maybe overdone it today as I built the cot and bathed DD and got her ready for a party while DS and DH sat on couch watching a film.

Kids finally in bed although my 2.5yr old now refuses to stay in his room and go to bed, used to be asleep at 7 every night. Any advice?

Shirehobbit · 31/08/2013 19:49

I have no advice, Pseudo but if it's any comfort, our neighbours' DS (2yrs 5months) has been having the mother of all tantrums this afternoon/evening.
