Hi girls thought as that thread it quite full we could start a new one here.
Hope you don't mind pink.
How you girls all feeling today? I swear I keep forgetting I'm pregnant when symptoms disappear randomly. But I'm at such early stages, one of the babies of the bunch at just 5+2

Pineapplefreak · 22/08/2013 16:24

What are the pills misty ? My doc said there's nothing I can take for sickness!!

Fairypants · 22/08/2013 16:42

Leanne - I hope your scan goes well.

Congrats and welcome Isean.

Dirty - I also have 2 dc's but they are old enough (10 and 15) to be more help than anything. I'm dreading them going back as I will have to do much more dog walking for a start.

How are everyone's dh's? I'm getting a bit annoyed that mine is not being in any way more supportive or helpful despite me being shattered all the time. Is everyone else's DH being lovely or is it my hormones making me assume that?

BartBaby · 22/08/2013 16:42

pineapple I've been given promethazine and the midwife said it is perfectly fine to have

dirtyface · 22/08/2013 16:50

yep same fairy he is doing my head in, he cant do anything right but tbf its mainly hormones i think

plus we haven't had sex for nearly 3 weeks now and tbh we are one of those couples that has to be shagging loads otherwise things dont seem right between us :( but the less i have the less i want it, plus my boobs hurt and am knackered

also re DCS, has anyone told their other dcs yet? we havent as going to wait till at least the 12 week scan as they are quite little and if anything goes wrong i dont want to have to tell them. dd keeps saying she wants a little baby sister though, randomly Confused i would prefer a boy lol

ThedementedPenguin · 22/08/2013 16:54

Pineapple are you from NI?

Misty9 · 22/08/2013 16:56

Tablets are cyclizine hydrochloride. Dh is being amazing, thankfully, and picking up the major slack I'm causing due to being so ill not that he has much choice with ds!

bunnygoesbang · 22/08/2013 17:16

Hello to the newbie

I'm on the same tablets as misty. Was very reluctant as all meds carry a risk but the results of dehydration when pregnant are dad worse.

Haven't kept anything down today or yesterday so have given in. I took them at around 2 and feel no better so hoping it does take a while.

Good luck with the scan tomorrow Leanne and hope the rest of the vomit crew are coping especially the ones sent home.

I'm back at work next week and they will just have to put up with the amount of time I spend In the loo lol

Tea1Sugar · 22/08/2013 17:19

My dp is being a star but then again I've got no sickness (is it wrong that I want it to be assured?!).

Only 5+0. Time has stood still. If I do this again I don't want to know until I'm 12 weeks!!

Fairypants · 22/08/2013 17:30

We told our dc's straight away dirty. They are old enough to understand, dd1 would probably have figured it out, and we just felt that at their age they had a right to know something so massive before anyone else.
I know it's a risk but I think they would prob need to know if anything went wrong anyway - they are just too old to try and pull the wool over their eyesGrin

cookielove · 22/08/2013 17:54

Evening all, :)

Fx all is well leanne

I am Snoozy today.

bunnygoesbang · 22/08/2013 17:54

My dd who is 7 knows and has been very mature and understood its a secret and that things can happen.
When she goes back to school she can tell her friends.

It's been good as we have been able to so some sex education in a subtle way. She knows that the uterus is not your tummy and how the baby comes out and has been reading her where do I come from book

dirtyface · 22/08/2013 17:58

oh god i just know that when we tell them, it will be met with lots of cringey awkward questions Blush

as they are 4 and 7. particularly from the 4 yo who is obsessed with anything anatomical Hmm

Fairypants · 22/08/2013 18:13

My favourite 2 questions from dd1 (at about 5) were:

  1. So does the mummy have to eat the 'seed' ?Blush
  2. Does the mummy have to be asleep when the daddy puts the 'seed' inside?

This time round I get more detailed but less personal q's. dd1 has actually borrowed one of my pregnancy books. Whatever I eat or drink, they accuse me of having a craving and they both want to be there for the birthBlush

bunnygoesbang · 22/08/2013 18:16

Lol my dd wants to be there for the birth so I have new honest and explained a the blood and possible poop and its put her off.
I would suggest getting the kids a book my dd knows that the seeds meet as part of a special cuddle grown ups do. She hasn't asked any more about sex but is astounded the baby doesn't come from the same place your wee comes out of lol

Nessalina · 22/08/2013 18:21

I know what you mean Tea1Sugar, I've not had any sickness yet and it makes it all feel a little unreal...
5+1

coffeewineandchocolate · 22/08/2013 18:29

Sorry wicked, hope everything will be ok Leanne and great news for those who have had positive scans!

Only symptoms I have is growing boobs and tiredness (wasn't really sick last time so I'm hoping for the same)

Dropped my form in at gp for the booking in and in this area they book the scan (don't know when it'll be) and the MW will contact me about booking in appt. we go on holiday for 10 days September 8th so hopefully will hear before then!

Very early days but already looking at tandem pushchairs! Grin

ChocChaffinch · 22/08/2013 18:47

yeah pineapple your doc sounds Victorian!
There are loads of 'safe' anti emetics to try -
maxalon, cyclizine, I'm on Avomine now.
Hospital scripts include the wonderful Odanestrone, which comes in drip form and can only be prescribed by a hospital

Misty don't worry I feel ambivalent towards mine when the nauseaor vomming are at their height. Totally natural and expected when it affects you so negatively. Hopefully it'll pass/lessen as the weeks flow by.

8+0

Pineapplefreak · 22/08/2013 18:56

thedementedpenguin yes I am-please don't say they don't prescribe anything for it here?

choc she's actually younger than me, and just back from maternity herself so I would have expected her to know!! She was v sympathetic and excited for me, she also suggested it could be twins as I was so sick!!

Cannotbelieveit · 22/08/2013 19:35

Ladies just a thought on our April 13 thread we created a closed Facebook group as it was nice to put faces to names and to be able to post pics of scans, bumps and any baby shopping? I will set it up if anyone is interested? Nothing will show on your timeline and nobody will see your posts apart from the group members in case any one is worried about other people knowing yet!

4+5 Grin

bunnygoesbang · 22/08/2013 19:43

I'm happy with that cannotbelieveit

leanne239 · 22/08/2013 19:53

The bleeding stopped this morning, I have had no cramping so am hoping it is nothing to worry about. Even though I think the scan is pointless as I'm pretty certain I'm just over 5 weeks, but hey ho, at least they are doing something x I am so nervous, I will be going on my own tomorrow, hubby is home with our 3 children tomorrow as I'm working. So am doubly nervous x

Pineapplefreak · 22/08/2013 19:54

Sounds good cannotbelieveit

leanne239 · 22/08/2013 19:54

oh and ps, providing everything goes well I would love to join the facebook page if it gets set up Grin
