toby we had that 7 seated qashqai as a rented car for a few days, wasn't too comfy but was big. We've got a Renault scenic estate at the moment while we wait for golf and its actually a lot nicer than it sounds. It's huge in the back and very kid friendly as well as lots of gadgets. Might be worth a look

TobyLerone · 16/08/2013 23:08

Renault is a definite no for me. I loathe them!

Still waiting for the Qashqai to come in so I can look at it. I'll definitely bear the comfort thing in mind, thanks!

Toothfairy78 · 16/08/2013 23:42

OMG guys my belly button's starting to feel shallow!

TobyLerone · 17/08/2013 05:42

Ha! Mine too. And more on one side than the other, oddly.

Sultanajo · 17/08/2013 09:02

Lol! You just made me poke about in mine too and yep, shallow here too! Ekkk! Grin

Toothfairy78 · 17/08/2013 10:25

Of all the weird shit that's been happening to my body so far, this has got to be the most freaky!

Inny or outy could be the next new thing on the vital stats list Grin

Any reckoning on how many weeks before it pops out?

extracrunchy · 17/08/2013 10:43

Speaking if weird shit - first timers, if you're moisturising to avoid stretch marks DON'T FORGET INNER THIGHS! Seriously - I did last time, and the ones I have there are by far the worst. Like deep ridgy scars! And was no sign of them till about 2 weeks after birth when they were suddenly really extreme!

BookTart · 17/08/2013 10:43

Mine's pretty close tooth, but it varies depending on the trapped wind situation Grin. I'll be surprised if it hasn't popped in the next fortnight though. DP is totally freaked out by the idea, which is a bit annoying!

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 17/08/2013 11:04

Ooh, mine's shallow too! Always had a v deep inny, that's reassuring! Something is happening, even if I don't really have a bump still and still don't think I've felt movement (had some flutters last night, followed by a resounding fart, so think it may have been a false alarm Grin)

Off to a wedding today, v glad I have a maxi dress to wear, it's practically gale force winds outside! Hair up, I think...
I also have a fantastic pedicure (went to a place in Spitalfields last night, can highly recommend) and nails to match, feel the most glam I have since getting pg. Is family wedding, so this is essential - close family are ace, my Dad's brother is a dick, the groom is worse, so I need armour!

curly still thinking of you, hoping all went okay.

enormouse · 17/08/2013 12:46

Hope you have a great day humpty , you sound very glam.

My belly button is getting very shallow too and I'm getting proper movements in there, which DP can feel too. Very exciting as I was starting to think there was nothing in there.

Ergh, I do need to rant. I love my DP but my God he is lazy. He needs to take his driving test too but we decided I'd go first as I'm closer to passing than him and have a very determined nature. He has now decided that as he's going to do his post grad he can just take the train straight to the campus and off learning for a YEAR or two. The station is about half an hour away from where we live with an extremely unreliable crap bus service.
'Oh, you or mum can drop me off there and pick me up again, mouse'. This would involve leaving at 7.30 in the morning and 5.30ish in the evening. So before breakfast and disrupting dinner/bath/bed. I'll need to point this out to him again I think.

It seems I've been booked as a taxi service before I've even passed my test. Hmm. No pressure.

AnotherStitchInTime · 17/08/2013 12:56

Sorry to hear about your puppy MrsRA. My BIL's bullmastiff broke his leg as a puppy, he had it pinned and a cage to stretch it. He walks with a slight limp and they have to watch his weight, but he is 9 now and still going strong.

Have a good time at the wedding Humpty :)

Maternity clothes and a mahoosive bump at only 16 weeks here. I have to wear a belt on my overbump jeans to stop them sliding, but maternity leggings and tops are doing it for me.

Backs from hols now, it took 8 bloody hours to drive back from Dorset yesterday Confused.

itsonlyapapermoon · 17/08/2013 13:01

Hi ladies! Haven't posted in awhile but just jumping on to say we found out on Tuesday that we're having a little boy! Over the moon! DD5 was a bit put out until I explained that it makes her extra special now as she's the only girl lol:) The boys are thrilled! As I type he's kicking away and even DH has felt him now!

Sultanajo · 17/08/2013 13:01

extra thanks for the tip!!! Ekkk!

You ladies are cracking me up with the freaky shit! Mine is normally a deep inny too humpty & am still feeling the odd thing now and again which must be bubs moving, but I still dont have that "well that was definitely bubs moving" feeling and definitely no chance of feeling anything from the outside yet.... Hope u have a fab day and shake your glam ass on the dancefloor!!! Grin

enormouse grrr thats not on! I would be really miffed! Think u need to explain the realities of the situation to him....Sad

Feeling really virtuous as despite it blowing a gale and threatening to piss down with rain, DH and I walked to the shops and post office rather than driving. My god my thighs were itching by the tip we got there and sweated my way back, but feel really good for an hours walk and some fresh air!

Got to tackle the mountain of crap bits and bobs and paperwork that we have been dumping storing in the spare room/nursery. Will be awesome once it is done, but currently procrastinating....Wink

Sultanajo · 17/08/2013 13:05

another omg 8 hours!!! Thought it was bad enough being stuck in traffic the other day for 2!

papermoon yay another boy and great you are feeling lots of kicking!!! Grin

TobyLerone · 17/08/2013 14:47

enormouse, I take DH to the station every morning at 7.15am and collect him again at 6.15pm. It's not so bad really, and it means we don't have to run 2 cars/pay £5 per day station parking. But then again the station is only about a 10-minute drive away, so much less hassle than half an hour.

Hope you have a lovely time, glam Humpty!

Congrats, Paper. Boys are awesome!

We have definitely, definitely decided not to find out the sex of the baby on Wednesday.

Re belly buttons, mine never popped out in either pregnancy so far. I still wore a piercing in my navel until the day I was induced with DC1. But this time I have a feeling it'll be right out, which makes me sad. It's almost flat on one side.

babycakemumma · 17/08/2013 14:57

My belly button is doing ok. It always goes flat but never pops inside out.

Talking 7 seaters we have a C4 grand Picasso, we love it.

Frizz1986 · 17/08/2013 15:59

I didnt think my belly bttuon had really changed that much but after mentioning to dh he turned round and said when he poked me in the belly button the other day he thought it was shallower!
Just had a lovely hour long nap in front of the tv after getting my hair chopped off this morning and i am almost convinced that i felt something kicking away in there.
I dont want ro believe it just yet in case i get bad news on friday at the scan and then ill wonder what the hell ive been feeling lol.
Going to go and make me and dh a oovely hot chocolate in this miserable weather.

Congrats on the boy paper
What are we on now?? I have lost track of who is having what!

Naturegirl82 · 17/08/2013 16:39

Congrats to those that have found out what you are having. I'm very jealous but still got my resolve to not find out.

I had to go and check my belly button after all the talk and think mine is shallower. I hate touching inside my belly button though so not sure.

I hope the pup is ok mrsra must be worrying for you.

Dh and I were meant to he tackling a lot in the house today. He was good and did a tip run and I had a four hour nap! Oops. Not as productive as I would have hoped.

Puppy has settled in really well. Love having her. Although she has mastered the stairs today so may have to get a stair gate!

I'm sure that I've been feeling bubs move. Some days lots but none so far today. Still 2 weeks until my scan.

Have a fab time at the wedding humpty you sound very glam. Hoping I can pull off the same thing at the end of the month.

Hope everyone else is having a fab Saturday. Smile

Penny31 · 17/08/2013 19:00

Oooooo we ordered a Moses basket today! So exciting :) also bought some sleepsuits and little cardy :) trying to do a bit at a time to spread the cost but at this rate I will be sorted by the time I am at the end of my second trimester! Must restrain myself otherwise the next 4 months will really drag!

Hope everyone is having a nice relaxing day, the weather is rubbish and makes me want to hibernate.

Penny31 · 17/08/2013 19:01

Re belly buttons, mine stings a lot. Sometimes it is shallower but usually only after I have stuffed m face!

Sultanajo · 17/08/2013 19:38

Get you lot napping away! Wink I nearly napped but always feel worse afterwards so I made myself start sorting paperwork. 3 hours later and have got through two thirds of it, but started feeling super nauseous with horrendous heartburn - just like in the first trimester! Then got worried in case I had squished bubs too much with the way I was sitting, so promptly cried and got the doppler out! Heartbeat there so now feeling a bit better about things. Feeling super stressed all of a sudden. Was feeling really chilled yesterday! Hoping a good nights sleep will sort me out.

Got to brave ikea tomorrow and find DH a suit, plus lunch out with my mum and dad. Its gonna be another packed day!

penny how exciting! I know what you mean about pacing yourself! Such a temptation to get it all now! Grin Am hoping DH will paint the nursery tomorrow and then I can start cot shopping! I realise he isnt gonna need that straight away, but I just want it all to be ready! Grin Am hoping to take my mum with me rather than DH so we can take our time browsing, rather than rushing around! Although I am going to drag DH to the baby department in John Lewis tomorrow (if I can find the energy) so I can show him all the cute things I have seen. Grin Grin Grin

Penny31 · 17/08/2013 19:48

sultana my DP is painting our nursery next week :) I will order the furniture in September because its expensive and I could do with another payday first :) I need to have somewhere to put away all of the stuff I am accumulating!

I will probably order the pram in September too.

Sultanajo · 17/08/2013 19:58

Its so exciting penny! I expect I too will have to wait until next pay day, but at least if I can get my fix by choosing the stuff I want then its still exciting!

Think I have also narrowed down the choice of slings/baby carriers. Between the caboo dx and the Stokke mycarrier....need to try them both....Grin

sarahleanne · 17/08/2013 21:01

I have just showed DH your posts just to PROVE that napping in pregnancy is totally normal Grin he keeps calling me lazy (in a jokey way).

I think I have also chosen my pram, a Gracco Trekko duo stroller sport in Black. I basically chose it because I saw it in toys r us and it seems light and manoeuvrable, and trying to decide on a pram is pissing me off now so i'm just going to go for that one.

my 20 month old decided to launch herself onto my stomach earlier and have a little bounce on her bum whilst I was singing ' the wheels on the bus', she's so cute I couldn't bring myself to chuck her off Grin

is anyone else suffering from SPD already? I saw a few posts somewhere saying hoe they were like 16 weeks with SPD and I thought nooo surely not, then the last few days I can feel it coming on in the evenings...great!! I'll never make it to 36 weeks at work now, i'll be bloody lucky to make it to 30 weeks (had bad spd last time).MOAN OVER.

glad a few more of you are feeling kicks now, so exciting.19 weeks on Monday, hurry up scan.

MrsGSR · 17/08/2013 21:02

I haven't noticed a difference in my belly button yet (although I've recent realised DH always had fluff in his!)

MIL and sister are very excited about the scan on Tuesday. I'm panicking about it, but for no reason!
