Wedding was lush, thank you all. The maxi was this Asos one which I can HIGHLY recommend. Gives excellent boobage, glam enough, and stretchy like nothing else, so comfy! Wore with gold sandals, and a pashmina.

Too tired now for more, will catch up tomorrow. Hope all well with everyone.

MrsGSR · 18/08/2013 07:27

Glad you enjoyed the wedding humpty

My left shoulder is killing me. I don't remember injuring it. I took a paracetamol last night and was able to sleep but the pain woke me up about 6ish. I had a bad headache all day yesterday and when I tested my bp its was higher than normal so now I'm panicking about pre eclampsia. Still in Devon so can't go to my GP or midwife, we've run out of paracetamol and no where is open. I don't know if I should be going a&e but we don't have enough petrol anyway so would have to wait til the petrol station opens. I've just sat and cried for about an hour as I wish I could talk to mum, she was a nurse and very wise so she'd know what to do, I really miss her.

Sultanajo · 18/08/2013 08:08

Hey mrsg. Poor you freaking out in the countryside. Offering hugs and a hand to hold.

Ok, firstly I have never read about left shoulder pain being associated with pre eclampsia....although I am not an expert on the subject. Do you have sudden swelling in your hands and feet?

Could you at least call your midwife for some advice? Dont worry about bothering her - thats what she is there for. Did you bring your numbers to contact urgently with you?

sarahleanne · 18/08/2013 08:35

Mrsg, I had pre eclampsia with my first. My blood pressure went through the roof , bottom number was over 100 but they say anything over 90 is classed as high. What was your bp?

I also swelled up to the point I had no ankles left. It's also more common to get pre e in the third trimester .
I had high blood pressure with my second and was induced , they wouldn't diagnose this until the bottom number on my bp went over 90 xx

TobyLerone · 18/08/2013 08:35

Poor MrsG Flowers

I've never heard of shoulder pain being associated with preeclampsia either. Any swelling? I should think it's very rare to get preeclampsia at or around 20 weeks. Yy call your mw. She will advise you.

AnotherStitchInTime · 18/08/2013 08:51

MrsG that must be worrying, but as others have said it doesn't sound like classic pre-eclampsia so call your midwife for advice.

As relaxin increases your ligaments get softer and it is possible to do yourself an injury whilst doing something quite normal, even sleeping when pregnant.

Drink lots of water and try and do some lying down with slow, deep breathing to help yourself relax. A pulled muscle or ligament in your shoulder can cause tension in your neck resulting in a headache. A nice warm bath or a hot water bottle on the area might help too.

That dress is gorgeous Humpty, glad you enjoyed the wedding :)

itsonlyapapermoon · 18/08/2013 09:05

Anyone else suffering lower back pain? I'm hobbling around like an old bloody woman at the moment-maybe a pinched nerve? Just to the left of my tail bone I feel like I've got a knot there, can't lift my left leg properly and can't bend down. Chiropractor this week methinks! Never had any back trouble with the other 3 Confused

Sultanajo · 18/08/2013 09:21

humpty meant to say the dress is gorgeous!

papermoon yy lower back pain, but its only after I have walked for a significant amount of time. After yesterdays hour walk I was again in agony and hobbling around. All loosened up again this morning thankfully! Wink

extracrunchy · 18/08/2013 10:02

Papermoon it's your sacral/pelvic joints - they loosen and shift when you're pregnant and it SUCKS.

MrsGSR · 18/08/2013 10:04

Currently in A&E, my bp was 146/96 but they think that was just due to the pain as since taking paracetamol its been measured as low (which is normal for me). There is a pre eclampsia website that lists shoulder pain as a symptom, but now the pain has lessened I can tell it's sore to the touch so it probably isn't displaced pain. Thank you for the messages, I'm a lot calmer now! 5 hours sleep didn't help!

extracrunchy · 18/08/2013 10:05

Aw MrsG sending hugs Sad

AnotherStitch has nailed what I would have said! And I'd call MW too just to put your mind at rest. It's what she's there for!

extracrunchy · 18/08/2013 10:05

Oh cross posted! Glad you're feeling calmer Smile

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 18/08/2013 13:15

MrsG you poor love. I have woken up with a sore arm/shoulder, I assumed it was from sleeping on it badly. I hope you feel better soon.

paper yes absolutely. First thing I have to hold my back with both hands to make it to the loo! So SEXAH!

sarahleanne · 18/08/2013 20:31

glad you are ok now mrsg, you did the right thing getting checked out Grin

ok ladies I have just had this horrible realisation that DH is going away in 2 weeks time for THREE WEEKS starting a new job, shiiiiit , and its bang on back to school time which means its back to hectic mornings (school runs) and no help for 3 weeks. Im allowed to moan about that right? Hmm

papermoon back pain over here too and pelvic pain, yippee oh the joys of pregnancy... good job we all get a gorgeous baby at the end of this 9 months!!

Penny31 · 18/08/2013 21:48

Urgh back to work tomorrow after a lovely relaxing week off. I really like my job and usually don't mind going back, this time I could do with a few more days.

Had a productive day washing, cleaning and sorting. Early nesting? Lol

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend

Naturegirl82 · 19/08/2013 09:43

Really not feeling the love for work today. Sad

enjoyingscience · 19/08/2013 10:20

yy to back pain (or anywhere around the general pelvis region). I had SPD from around 30 weeks last time, and I've been feeling it from about 16 this time Shock

It's utter shit, but I'm hoping to get a physio referral pretty soon, and have been doing lots of yoga and trying to be aware of how I'm standing and moving around to keep it under control. No idea if it will work, but beter than doing nothing :)

I'm not really feeling work today either. I'm looking at applicants for my maternity cover, and some are awful, and some would be much better than me. I don't want them, obviously. Wink

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 19/08/2013 11:15

nature oh dear, sounds like you need Cake at lunchtime.

enjoying oh god, no, you don't want someone who leaves piles for you to do when you get back, or someone who makes themselves too invaluable . Someone nice and average!

Off to spend a day with a friend and her 6mo son, cannot wait for snuggly cuddles and playing.

Think I felt my first movement yesterday evening - it was really weird, sort of scraping/fluttering/flickering, like something was (v gently) scratching from the inside. Which sounds creepy and I don't mean it to.

MrsGSR · 19/08/2013 11:22

humpty thats really exciting! I can't wait to start feeling movements but still nothing yet.

Naturegirl82 · 19/08/2013 11:35

enjoying definitely don't want someone better!

humpty luckily Dh packed me a very tasty lunch today which included key lime pie Grin

Exciting you are feeling movements. I'm getting quite regular movements now which is very nice, mostly when I'm curled up on the sofa which I have been doing a lot!!!

Mythreeknights · 19/08/2013 11:36

Well, I'm now 18+3 and I can say I'm definitely feeling movement at LAST Smile Only when I'm in bed about to go to sleep or in the morning when I wake up, but if I lie quietly with my hand on my tummy it isn't too long before I get a gentle poke. It's such a relief especially given I was one of the non-dopplered at 16 weeks, so this is first indication that everything is ok since the 12 week scan. it's been a LONG 6 weeks I can tell you.

Feeling v sympathetic for all unmotivated peeps today - my client has been on leave for 2 weeks and I'm still waiting to have a catch up call today and I've just done everything I can think of. Might go and hoover upstairs (I work from home). Ug.

Sultanajo · 19/08/2013 11:37

MrsG so pleased you got yourself checked and you are back on your feet. Definitely the right thing to do!

Enjoying oh blimey - what a choice! Won't get applicants for mine until mid-September and really praying we get some and they are good!!!

Penny I feel your post holiday blues - did NOT want to go in this morning! Had a rough start to the morning but it is suddenly looking up - had two really excellent meetings in a row which is AMAZING and felt I really made leaps forward with both! Hurray! That, like, NEVER happens! Hoping the rest of the week continues that well!

Feeling for you ladies with pain. I am thankful that currently mine comes and goes and I can figure out usually what triggers it at the moment! SPD must be horrendous!

Humpty how exciting! Grin Here's to feeling many more! I THINK I have been feeling some sitting at my desk this morning. Had a listen with the doppler again last night and could hear a super active bubs flipping about in there but couldn't feel it. Did think I felt a few bubbles popping this morning when I was lying in bed and that's how it felt again just now.... I am thinking it must be bubs. Really can't wait until I can feel something that I can say "that was definitely a kick"....

Mythreeknights · 19/08/2013 11:38

Has anyone heard from curly? Still crossing fingers that all ok Brew

Mythreeknights · 19/08/2013 11:39

Whopee Sultana - thats the first POSITIVE work related update you have posted - here's to it continuing all the way to Splat Date. Grin

Sultanajo · 19/08/2013 11:56

No nothing from Curly I don't think. Keeping everything crossed!

Mythree I KNOW! I couldn't believe I walked out of both with a massive smile on my face! Incredible! If that continued until I go off on mat leave it would be soooo much more enjoyable! However, I am under no illusion, but will bask in the feelgood feelings for as long as I can! Grin
