Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

How amusing. Mine will be 7.8Lbs after a 12 hours labour and will arrive after its due date.

Thanks for the good wishes about the pooch.
She seems better this morning but has still not given me a kiss Sad
She has an appointment at the fancy hospital tomorrow at 10 to see what can be done, but I can't go as I am covering people at work and I know dh will forget all the info he gets told or will be really vague about it.
Just so annoyed that I wont be able to be there. Its typical as if it was last week or in 2 weeks then I would have been able to take an hour out to go, but for these 2 weeks I am pretty stuffed.

Oh well, def hope the insurance covers it, but I know it could cost a few thousand and I think she is covered for £4500 or £7000 per condition so am worried if she then needs medication or has further problems we will use up the funds and have to pay for additional costs.....

At least i have just booked my 25 week midwife app for 25th Sept. Yay

enormouse · 29/08/2013 13:13

Here's mine,

I know you were hoping we weren't going to say this, but don't expect this baby to come early. Your baby is nice and comfy tucked away in your womb and has no interest in joining the rest of the world. We predict your baby will be born after its due date. Your baby will most likely be born in the morning. Justmommies predicts that your baby will weigh approximately 8.3 pounds and that your labor will be about 10 hours long.

enjoyingscience · 29/08/2013 16:33

enormouse yours is almost exactly the same as mine! (mines 8-9 hours).

I was kind of hoping for a shorter labour this time... Wink

Toothfairy78 · 29/08/2013 18:02

Erm, in the morning 2-3 weeks early, weighing in at 7 1/2 lbs after a 12 hr labour!

Best get the Christmas shopping done then!

sarahleanne · 29/08/2013 18:43

Mine says I will be late,AGAIN
Nnooooooo ha ha. How can I possibly be late on my third, one of them has to be early surely :)

extracrunchy · 29/08/2013 19:04

Haha glad we're getting some mileage out of that thing! Mine was early, morning and 8lb!

I may have gone a bit crazy in Mothercare today...

Toothfairy78 · 29/08/2013 20:23

Ooh, whatcha get in Mothercare?

Frizz1986 · 29/08/2013 20:25

Ooops extra

So happy that dh has just felt skeletor kick!! Have def felt kicks a few times tonight and every now and then can see my belly jump as it moves. So so happy!!

MrsVDB · 29/08/2013 21:19

Ah I'm so jealous of all the kicks, I only have flutters still. Can hear baby rolling around on Doppler now too which is nice

Bluecarrot · 29/08/2013 22:24

Had 20 week scan today ( I'm 21+3) and we are team pink! Think DP a bit disappointed but I was hoping for another girl- Ill happily have a few boys after this one though :)

DD is ecstatic. We wrapped up her own coming home outfit and a pink balloon and wrote on the box " brother or sister " then gave it to her to open :) then took lots of pics of us.

I have a high anterior placenta but still feeling plenty of movement, just all to the sides rather than front. More prods than flutters. Head is down and facing out.

Sonographer asked permission for 2 students to be present, then double and triple checked to the point I was starting to think its actually an issue to have them there! Was fine though.

Also booked in for parent craft- even though its my 2nd, I've forgotten it all in last 11 years plus went pretty much straight to emergency c section so never actually used it!

Really much get I to routine to do yoga DVD soon....

extracrunchy · 29/08/2013 22:52

Toothfairy thing is I don't even need much as we've been given loads!

Went meaning to get muslins, a bath foam thing, some long-sleeved vests and some bibs. Ended up with a load of teeny tiny slipper bootie things, a rabbit, a snowsuit that just kills me, two unnecessary but irresistible hats, and an absolute mountain of adorable clothes (some very sensibly bigger) - plus the bits we needed.

AND I got DS out of the buggy when we got in and discovered he'd stashed some impossibly small socks under his bum.

extracrunchy · 29/08/2013 22:53

Bluecarrot that's such a lovely idea re telling DD the sex Smile

extracrunchy · 29/08/2013 22:53

Yay Frizz!!!

MrsGSR · 30/08/2013 00:11

Yay for partners feeling kicks!

Congrats on your scan blue, and on another girl! I went a bit crazy over all the cute girly things in asda today...

DH has eaten 1kg of oranges today to try and satisfy his cravings for fags. He's just woken me up to go to the loo, again!

extracrunchy · 30/08/2013 00:51

(Just to clarify - DS stealing tiny socks is not something I'm pleased about. Ahem.)

AnotherStitchInTime · 30/08/2013 02:05

Congratulations blue, two girls is great (disclaimer: I may be just a leetle bit biased Wink).

Aw Frizz, it is lovely when your partner can feel the baby move, especially as the baby develops and responds to their voice :)

extracrunchy I once got home from shopping at the Early Learning Centre and found a pack of plasticine and a small wooden rolling pin in the basket underneath the buggy. Dd1, who was 18 months old at the time must have snuck them in there when I wasn't looking.

MrsVDB · 30/08/2013 06:54

Oh my goodness had the calf cramp for the first time last night. I see what you mean it was awful! Still feels funny this morning!

Bluecarrot · 30/08/2013 08:02

There's 11 years 1 month and 1 day between dd1 and dd2 so won't be a v close relationship (not waiting that long next time!)

I haven't bought much as we need to get nursery walls up first (eek!) but yesterday's scan got us moving.

To those who are buying bits as you go, make a list on your phone/notepad in your bag of what you have already bought!

TobyLerone · 30/08/2013 08:49

Check you all out. So organised!

Our pram is being delivered today, and I think tomorrow we're going to order our new car. Other than that, zero has been done!

I don't really know what we need. I'm thinking:

crib
bouncy chair
car seat and isofix base
sling
baby monitor
clothes

Is that it?

Congrats on the good scans, all. We've got our repeat scan on Sunday. Had a bit of a scary time the other day/night when the baby wasn't moving much at all. I was going to go to hospital to get checked yesterday, but I did the cold drink and chocolate thing and all of a sudden I was back to being kicked to death from the inside :o

Bluecarrot · 30/08/2013 09:05

Oh, I was chatting to a friend re breastfeeding. She has recommended visiting from September / October for first time breastfeeders. La leche league has a library of books for loan on the subject so sept/oct gives plenty of reading time and picking up tips from discussions before the birth.

I'm currently reading Sheila kitzinger ( surname might not be spelt right!) and " breastfeeding made simple" and really like them both. The latter being less anti-medical professionals.

TobyLerone · 30/08/2013 09:19

Visiting where?

MrsAVB · 30/08/2013 09:29

Morning all!
Congrats on team pink, blue!
I didn't update properly on my scan; it was lovely and a little scary that baby now looks like a real human rather than a blob. Although he/ she was misbehaving and curled up hiding his/her face; I had to go and run up and down the stairs to try and get him/her to turn over- figured this was less embarrassing than jumping up and down in the waiting room as suggested.
We still haven't bought anything, although have been given a few bits and decided on some other things.
Re. BFing; I know people were talking about pumps earlier in the thread, but I've forgotten what the advice was? And are you all buying pumps before. Or waiting and seeing?
Have a good day everyone!

AnotherStitchInTime · 30/08/2013 09:37

Don't forget some kind of baby bath Toby, you really don't want to do your back in leaning over into the adult bath. You can even get ones that fit on your sink like this Puj tub.

TobyLerone · 30/08/2013 09:49

Hmmm. Yes, maybe. I never bothered before, but it's worth a thought...

Thanks :)

Sultanajo · 30/08/2013 09:57
