Good luck today frizz and mac!
book I wanted to do aquanatal classes but there are none near me plus the foof is getting waaaay to hairy and I can't be bothered to do anything about it. Am going to try yoga and if its too ohhhmmmmmmy for me there is pg Pilates starting in sept too. My mw specifically said I should do something relaxing and stretchy since apparently my pregnancy has been stressful so far - with the vomming and some family stuff... Although I think this is rubbish cos plenty of people have things far worse.
My clothes are pissing me off. I have to try on about 50 things every day til I find a combination that's appropriate for work, covers my stupid ever-growing boobs and is bump friendly.
mrsg - lots of love for today. X

TobyLerone · 23/08/2013 09:45

Good luck for scans today!

I've done a shedload of housework today. Hoovered the whole house, mopped the floors, cleaned the bathroom, changed the DCs' beds (they're coming home tomorrow after 3 weeks in France, yay!), cleared out 6 drawers for baby stuff...
Knackered now!

Re fruit and veg, I've taken to eating tinned fruit (peaches or pears) with low fat greek yogurt, walnuts and honey (sometimes with a bit of Nutella drizzled over the top!) for breakfast. It's delicious and one of my five a day. I don't drink ready-made smoothies because they're not nearly as healthy as they appear to be, but a glass of orange juice is another one. Then at least one vegetable or big portion of salad with dinner.
I think I'm regularly managing 3 or 4 of my 5 a day, so I'm not stressing too much.

Frizz1986 · 23/08/2013 09:45

Phew. Scan was all ok although baby is face first lol. Dh now wants to nickname it skeletor as the photo we have shows its spine and is amazing. So relieved and happy right now. Oh and I don't have an anterior placenta so am not part of the team!

Good luck everyone else!

TobyLerone · 23/08/2013 09:49

Congratulations Frizz! :o @ skeletor.

TarkaTheOtter · 23/08/2013 09:54

Great news frizz

toby Angry I have achieved nothing so far today. Neither dd or I are even dressed yet. HOW have you done so much already??

I am winning with the healthy eating though because of my stupid diabetes. All I can blooming eat is vegetables.

TobyLerone · 23/08/2013 10:12

I take DH to the station every morning at 7.15, so I'm up and dressed then anyway. I find it much easier to get on with stuff as soon as I'm back. If I sit down/have a cup of tea it's instant Doom for my motivation!

Right. Next lot of laundry isn't going to put itself on the line!

Naturegirl82 · 23/08/2013 10:30

wow toby you sound like superwoman. I've shamefully done no housework for weeks! Good luck for scans today. Congrats Frizz on your scan
I hope today is ok mrs, I'm sure it will be hard but lovely to read what your mum had written for you.

I had horrendous dreams last night. Went to my 20 week scan and they told me baby had died. I didn't believe them though as I could still feel it moving so Dh and I constructed an us machine at home and baby was alive. but hospital refused to do another scan. Then the puppy was whining and I went to get her and all her pelvis and back legs were broken. I was not in a happy mood when I woke up Sad

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 23/08/2013 10:53

frizz Skeletor baby! Grin so glad all is well!

mac fx for you today, I hope all is lovely, update us when you can!

MrsA I am also v uncoordinated and unflexible and not a yoga person at ALL, but I'm going to give it a whirl in Sept. If there are farts, well, it's a pg yoga class, so hum ho. I shall style it out.

MrsG thinking of you today, hope it's happy as well as (obviously) being a sad occasion.

toby blimey. I thought I was doing well getting to work without puking, and I find that by the time I've finished my decaff latte and sneaky cinnamon bun you've done about as much housework as I do in a week.

Nature geez, that's awful. I'm sure it's one of those 'scared that you won't be able to cope/be a good parent' dreams. When is your scan?
I had one where the baby came, it looked EXACTLY like DH's brother Hmm (he is not.. ahem... gorgeous, exactly) and was walking and talking from birth, in a freakishly adult way 'mother, I'm clearly in need of a nappy change'. He was also v skinny, and in the dream I was thinking 'why couldn't I have a cute fat baby, instead of this skinny, critical, odd child?' I told DH in the morning, and said that if his brother ever has a child, I will struggle not to laugh when he tells us, picturing dream-baby Grin

another bloody indecisive placentas, eh? You should form your own club, the IP club. That'd learn it. Grin

Well, good news, ladies, looks like we found a (rental) house. Hither Green, 5 min walk from the station, there's a few nice shops there, and a lovely park with a lake (pond, really, lake is too grand) so we can feed ducks and go and chill out on the grass next summer. Lovely lovely house, 3 bedrooms and oodles of space. I can't quite believe that we might be able to leave our disgusting flat and move somewhere so grown up! May I have fx for us please that no other bugger nips in and gets it.

TobyLerone · 23/08/2013 10:58

Ugh, nature, that sounds horrid :( Poor you.

Humpty, you did do well to get to work without puking!
Excellent news re the house! Fx you get it. It sounds lovely :)

I dreamed last night that we had a boy and named him Buckley, after Jeff :o

MrsVDB · 23/08/2013 11:14

humpty we lived in hither green for 2 years and really liked it, very quiet. Good train links too.

frizz we have a picture like that of baby skull face on. Looks like one of those squirrel/rodent skulls you sometimes see. Quite scary really!!

Woo for all the good scans! Can't believe how quickly it's all going!!

enormouse · 23/08/2013 11:15

Hi all, been very busy lately so will read through all your posts and get caught up on how you've all been.

Toddlermouse and Mr mouse have both been ill so and down with colds and I've finally come down with it after spending several days running round after them. I look and feel as rough as toast and have no voice.

The thalassemia saga continues, I got my notes yesterday (at last!) And found that they failed to send the bloods they took 6weeks ago off for the test. So mw rang up hospital haematology and found that I had in fact had the test done for beta thalassemia when I was pg with toddlermouse in 2011 (and no one had bothered to check). But they weren't able to rule out alpha variant so I had to give up yet more blood for it. Hopefully, this will be the end of the whole palaver.

enormouse · 23/08/2013 11:16

Fx for you humpty. That's lovely news.

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 23/08/2013 11:45

mrsV oooh, excellent, a recommendation! It's so hard to know where you'll like, but it just seems pleasingly sleepy and village-like!

should really move out of London, shouldn't we Grin

enormouse Oh boo for that, you poor love. Stay in bed and be pampered? And BLOODY hospitals. That's shitty.

Naturegirl82 · 23/08/2013 12:16

Ok so I feel like a massive hypochondriac this week. Those of you with ligament pain is it like a dull ache or sharp stabbing? I just had to stand still for about 5 mins because the pain in my side was so bad and it's still hurting now. Does that sound normal?

Naturegirl82 · 23/08/2013 12:16

Meant to say fx for the house humpty

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 23/08/2013 12:42

nature I've had all kinds of pains. Sharp pulling ones if I stand up too fast, achy/muscle crampy ones at waist height, at the back right hand side (which I think is caused by constipation), sharp stabby up the fanjo/bum ones (Hmm no idea what these are, bastards), little achey ones in the side of my bump, which I think are the classic ligament pains ones. The 'constipation' ones are occasionally bad enough I can't walk/talk until they bugger off.

I'm just putting them all down to 'growing pains' - my uterus is expanding, pressing on other organs and moving them aside/up/down, baby is very active and may be kicking organs, my pelvis is loosening and my ligaments stretching. It helps me not to panic as much when I list all the things my body is doing right now!

However, if it's really bad, it's never a bad thing to ring your mw.

Ooh, as I was typing, I got a belly flutter. Hello bean!

Naturegirl82 · 23/08/2013 12:58

Yay for the belly flutter humpty. Thanks for the info as well. I'm telling myself it's all normal but just got a niggle in the back of my head because of being unwell this week as well.

MrsVDB · 23/08/2013 13:14

nature I agree with humpty my pains vary but the ones under my bump and in my fanjo are stabby

Baby gap has 30% off everything at the moment. Gap and next are the only shops that sell baby stuff near my work and have literally bought the whole shop over last few weeks!!

extracrunchy · 23/08/2013 13:56

Baby Gap has 30% off at the moment?!?? UH OH......

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 23/08/2013 13:57

Ha mrsV I was JUST in Baby Gap near work! I love their grey and white range.

nature if you're worried, call the midwife. Best to set your mind at rest, stress is bad for you too. xx

enjoyingscience · 23/08/2013 14:21

is the 30% online too? I can see 15% on the web, but might be near a shop tomorrow...

Mac2014 · 23/08/2013 14:53

Good scan news!

All is fine, everything is normal ... Took a while to get into position, had to wander around the waiting room, jumping up and down, but on the third try he managed to see everything he needed to for the measurements.

We don't know what it is but DH is convinced that, because he didn't see any clear ovaries, and the sonographer kept saying he, it's a boy.

I am just pleased that all is fine, and will now start thinking about what I need to do/ get... Any action is a long way off!!

Fibroids are the same size, but cyst is growing so had to chat to a midwife about extra scans, which are already booked in and I'm a posteria placenta too.

frizz glad yours was good too! Fab news!

humpty fx - sounds lovely, hope it all goes through smoothly.

nature I've also had both dull pains and stabbing pains and weird stretchy feeling pains in my fanjo too... which are just odd. I'm convincing myself all are just growing pains.

toby I need some of your motivation... As we're decorating the whole house I tell myself not to look below knee level, as it's just decorating mess.

mrsg thinking of you today, hope you're doing ok.

enormouse hope you feel better soon!

mrsavb I am so with you on clothes... Nothing seems to be work appropriate at all, so end up with a 'before' gok style catwalk show every morning.

tarka at least all the veg will mean you're not massive... I'm getting v whale like, possibly as I'm convincing myself that fruit flavoured sweets count!

I'm off to look at BabyGap thanks mrsvdb

TobyLerone · 23/08/2013 15:06

Oh, I have no motivation for decorating, Mac. My whole house needs doing but I'm ignoring it.

Re pains, yesterday I had an awful stitch pain in my rib. It's great, innit?!

TarkaTheOtter · 23/08/2013 15:09

Lol at your dh mac
I was really concerned that we were going to find out what we were having because the sonographer spent so long looking at the babies bum... turns out it was the face! Your dh must be better at reading scans than me!

I'm thinking that we are having a boy because she kept telling us to look away and we never were told to do that with dd.

I have so far lost nearly a stone this pregnancy because of the diabetes diet (am a chronic overeater with no will power normally). They don't seem concerned but it is worrying because my bmi was only 23 to start with. I'm now close to the weight I was before my first pregnancy.

enormouse · 23/08/2013 15:25

Ooh thanks, I'm going to online window shop at baby gap.

Argh, I've come downstairs to discover toddlermouse laying waste to my living room and DP Sat there completely oblivious. His new copy of empire arrived today so he's completely deaf and blind to everything else going on. The kitchen is a tip and none of the laundrys been put away. Toddlermouse has in fact emptied the lot over the floor.

The place was spotless last night. I deeply regret getting him that subscription.
