Yay tarka do you think there was something in the water when everyone conceived as never seen so many aps. Won't be surprised tomorrow if I am the same as so many seem to be in the club.

MrsAVB · 22/08/2013 17:08

toby yay for uhm... posterior? Confused normal placentas.
humpty no HG as such but still on the cyclizine, although FX haven't vommed since Sunday. But still nauseous, especially in the mornings.
I have bought... A grand total of 1 t shirt. Which is 6-9 months. Grin
Congrats on scan tarka
nature I am starting yoga next week, I have been procrastinating a lot as it is not something that I would generally enjoy and I am v uncoordinated/ unspiritual and will probably fart or laugh or something.

Mac2014 · 22/08/2013 18:04

nature I've bought nothing at all.

I'm thinking an online Tesco order might distract from the pain of contractions Grin

Seriously though I'm with frizz - scared shitless about tomorrow's scan. There has to be one that goes wrong to prove the rule. Trying to remain calm but the high hormone levels found at my combined test and additional growth scans they've already booked in are adding to the fear!! Big hugs to all waiting for scans and huge Wine to all those fab scans!!

Percypiglet · 22/08/2013 18:15

Well, did anyone else's bump totally pop out between week 18 to 19? Mine suddenly seems to be growing overnight... the last week it definitely grew overnight on Sunday night and last night. It feels a bit disturbing!! But glad it is growing as I assume this must mean baby is okay. 13 days to our scan.

Sultanajo · 22/08/2013 18:47

Tarka hurray and welcome to the APs! So weird yet another one!!!

MrsA that comment cracked me up! I have been twice to "normal" yoga - the first time I just got the giggles! The second time I fanny farted and then couldn't stop laughing, so that was the end of my relationship with yoga!!!! Wink

Mac and Frizz good luck for your scans tomorrow (and of course anyone else I have missed!). It could be my "baby with a large abdomen" that is the one that went a bit wrong, so don't worry!

Percy yep - around 19 weeks I suddenly noticed the bump. It didn't seem to happen overnight, but I just suddenly noticed it and it has continued to grow since! I have been taking a photo weekly since the bump appeared and you can really see the difference that way! In fact I actually took a photo side on at 16 weeks when I just felt fat and bloated (and effectively looked it too!!!) and looking at the pic just 3 weeks later is so incredible!

BookTart · 22/08/2013 18:59

percy - same here! At 18 weeks I suddenly looked BIG. Now I'm 20 weeks people are starting to be shocked by the size of the bump :)

Good luck for tomorrow mac and frizz

I tried to sign up for the NCT yoga but they never replied to me. Last week I signed up for aquanatal classes which I'm a bit scared about because I can't actually swim. Apparently this isn't a problem, but I'm still a bit unsure about the whole thing. Brilliantly, they are only £20 for 10 classes!

For all those that think they aren't prepared enough, I've bought NOTHING at all so far and I don't have anyone to pass stuff on to me either. There's going to be a hell of a shopping spree over the next couple of months!

Penny31 · 22/08/2013 19:15

Good luck for the scans tomorrow!

I've been feeling very guilty because I haven't really been eating much veg. So I've eaten vegetable lasagne with side veg too :)

I'm just so busy with work and stuff and get starving so usually grab the quickest fix I can find which is usually carb related with not a lot of healthy stuff. Must try harder.

Sultanajo · 22/08/2013 19:19

penny DH just asked me if I was having veg every day. I am managing to eat fruit daily, but I have to really think about veg and have to say I also must try harder!!! Blush

Toothfairy78 · 22/08/2013 20:15

percy yup I was getting a bit thick round the middle then around week 18/19 it all just dropped! I have big bump!

Am also starving hungry most of the time! I could eat a horse right now!

Penny31 · 22/08/2013 20:25

I have a banana almost daily.....but that's it. I've bought some dried fruit to take to work and when I go out for lunch tomorrow ill order a side salad instead of chips :) at 23 weeks its not too late, right?

Sultanajo · 22/08/2013 20:28

Its never too late penny! I had a chopped apple in my porridge this morning, some grapes in my sandwich and a clementine tonight so I feel good from that perspective. Also had a bag of peanut m & ms! The protein and good fats OBVIOUSLY outweigh the tiny amount of chocolate around the outside....Wink

Penny31 · 22/08/2013 20:47

Obviously :) oh I had a couple of grapes and a couple of slices of kiwi fruit at lunchtime. That counts :) feel better about that haha

Sultanajo · 22/08/2013 20:53

Wink There ya go!

AnotherStitchInTime · 22/08/2013 21:19

Well my placenta is currently anterior and posterior and low lying so I am hoping it will have chosen a side and moved up at my 20 week scan.

Nature I posted some youtube pregnancy yoga vids upthread which are very good until you can get to a class.

I started with really good intentions, but by the time I get the kids in bed and clean up it is 9pm and I am shattered. I need to get out to a class. Mind you I get a fair amount of exercise walking everywhere and running after my toddler :)

Glad to hear your scan went well Tarka

It is true that you don't need to get lots for your baby before they arrive. My babies were quite big and only fitted newborn stuff for a short time. I know people that have had to rush out and buy 0-3 months because their baby was too big for the newborn stuff. Plus people buy you things too. My advice would be to have a set of newborn stuff (bit of everything, but not loads) and ask anyone who wants to buy something to get 0-3 or 3-6 months. You can always buy more newborn stuff if your need it. Nappies, bottom changing materials, bedding, cot/moses basket, car seat, baby monitor and pram would also be on my list of things to have before they arrive.

Mac2014 · 22/08/2013 21:38

Thanks ladies.

Just been to my pregnancy yoga class... All sorts of breathing and stretching... No farts as yet! But some odd chanting and affirmations... Ommmmmmmm

Frizz1986 · 22/08/2013 21:40

I have a banana a day but that's it. Dont think I have enough protein either and have almost no fish. Need to sort my diet a bit!
Just yelled at Dh as he suggested leaving for the scan at 8:30 (app is at 9:10 and hospital is about 20 mins away) He is prob right with his time but I am so freaked we'll get lost or miss it so am making him leave at 8:15 at which point we will be at the hospital way too early. He told me he might say "I told you so" but I told him that he might die if he uttered those words!

Mac2014 · 22/08/2013 21:47

frizz totally with you. Our hospital is 20 min away. We 're leaving an hour before. DH thinks I'm bonkers.

Frizz1986 · 22/08/2013 21:52

Glad it's not just me mac
Good luck tomorrow!

Mac2014 · 22/08/2013 22:05

And you frizz big hugs.

MrsVDB · 22/08/2013 23:02

frizz we do the same. I'd rather be early and not stressing

penny I have an innocent smoothie very day which is 2 of your 5 a day. Can't eat any veg as it makes me puke. The odd nectarine but that's it. Also no meat here so basically bread and potatoes!! Ordered roast potatoes with gravy and garlic bread at canteen last week. The lady you pay didn't believe me that's all I had ha ha

MrsGSR · 22/08/2013 23:26

I was about 40 minutes early for my 12 week scan! I wouldn't have got away with it if DH had been there though, he would have made us leave later.

I have a feeling tomorrow is going to be very emotional. My mum wrote me and my sister a letter before she died in January. Dad knew she had but only found them recently so we're going over tomorrow to read it. I'm not sure it's a good idea with all these hormones!

Frizz1986 · 23/08/2013 06:49

mrsg am sure that will be so very emotional for you but hopefully you will get a lot of comfort from reading her own words to you.

extracrunchy · 23/08/2013 07:28

I just got an hour's lie in cos we got black out blinds for DS's bedroom. Yessssssss......

babycakemumma · 23/08/2013 08:18

Hi!

Sorry I'm not posting much- 4 kids home summer holidays etc.

All is fine here, 19 weeks now and like all of you trying to eat healthily. Failing this morning as I'm about to have a breakfast of tea and cold bread pudding!

1week until my scan! I hope you're all well.

babycakemumma · 23/08/2013 08:19

Mrs gsr, it'll be lovely to read. (((Hugs))).
