Congrats scanners! Hurrah for lovely wiggly beans.

frizz pompoms for you for the wait, if only to distract you with my inability to jump, kick, do the splits or even really wave my arms about convincingly

Sultanajo · 22/08/2013 08:38

Good luck for any scans today!!!

tooth how cool is that? My kicks are still coming today which I am super pleased about, although they are still low down, which is fine with me. As long as they continue and get more frequent and stronger I will be a happy bunny! Wink

Loving the distractions for frizz humpty! Will join you!

Penny I didn't think anterior placenta was so common, but apparently we are proving that theory wrong.... At least they all seem to be high which is good!

I had bizarre freaky dreams all night about soooo many things, but the main thing I dreamt is that I was at a water park and I was told I could go on all the water flumes, so long as I didn't get pushed by anyone. Well, you can imagine that I spent a very stressful night trying to avoid everyone else in the pool as I made my way to the entrance of each flume. The midwife was also meant to be there at the bottom to help me get out of the giant rubber ring I was using to go down the flume on and she invariably wasn't there! Other people also kept jumping down the flume behind me before I was at the bottom, so I kept worrying they were going to bash into me! I kept saying I would go and get changed and just watch everyone else, but the midwife insisted this was the perfect exercise to do in pregnancy and I was just being a wuss!!! Grin

Frizz1986 · 22/08/2013 08:46

Arghhhhh why am I so freaked out about tomorrow! Feel like a nervous wreck, even worse than before the 12 week scan. Need to keep telling myself that the chances are small but then I just think to myself that something bad happens to someone otherwise there wouldn't be that small percentage of something going wrong.
Must keep telling myself that what will be will be and there is nothing I can do to change the outcome. Hope that tomorrow all this freak out will be a distant memory and I will wonder why I was such an idiot getting myself so worked up. (sorry if my freak out is causing other freak outs-am sure u lot are much more sane than I am)

Already feel better for getting it out in the open!

Anyone got scans today? Good luck and enjoy seeing ur little ones. So jealous that mine is still 24hrs away!

TarkaTheOtter · 22/08/2013 09:04

frizz I have my scan today and I'm really nervous too. I'm really starring to worry about not having taken folio acid past about 8 weeks as I was just throwing the tablets up. Turns out because of the diabetes I should have been taking double. Sad.
On a happier note, dh now agrees with me not to find out the sex of the baby which makes life easier. Didn't want to have to throw a strop about it.

TobyLerone · 22/08/2013 09:07

Good luck for your scans, ladies. I'm certain everything will be fine Flowers

If it makes you feel any better, Tarka, I haven't taken any vitamins since 12 weeks.

MrsAVB · 22/08/2013 09:12

Morning all...
Good luck for scans today! Mine isn't til next week when I will be 22 weeks.
And I don't have an anterior placenta (or at least didn't at 12week scan...can it move?) - I feel left out!
Have a good day everyone
X

TobyLerone · 22/08/2013 09:15

I don't have an anterior placenta either. Perhaps we ought to have our own club :o

Sultanajo · 22/08/2013 09:37

Frizz totally normal to feel so freaked out! I was a total wreck and didn't sleep the night before! Deep breaths! Will be keeping everything crossed for you that you are worrying for nothing!

Tarka good luck for today! Just think of all those girls out there who didn't even know they were preggers and were totally fine. Taking the vits is the gold standard - but ultimately you did everything you could and they are hardy little monkeys! Wink

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 22/08/2013 11:02

frizz and tarka massive hugs ladies, I worried for EXACTLY those reasons ("well, it has to happen to someone") and that I'd forgotten the stupid horse sized tablets since week 12 (not every day, but not been regularly taking them). It was fine and I am sure everything will be fine for you too.

MrsA but you have HG/still have morning sickness, right? So you're still in the club Grin.

Had such a headache when I woke up first thing - this changeable weather really sets me off. I want the pressure to STAY THE SAME (preferably whatever is needed to keep it cold) and stop fecking about.

Naturegirl82 · 22/08/2013 11:09

Grrr just come on for a moan. A work colleague's wife is pregnant as well (further along though) and he has just made me feel bad that I've not yet really done any baby planning. I've still got time to look into nappies and things and I do have everything else apart from a pram sorted. Please tell me I've got time. Confused

Oh and I'm another one worrying about the 20 week scan. Especially as I know someone who was that one person where there was something wrong. But I'm consoling myself with the fact that it is perfectly normal to worry.

TobyLerone · 22/08/2013 11:29

I had a headache this morning too, Humpty. Must be the weather.

Nature, we will start a 'we haven't done anything yet' club of our very own. We've got loads of time. I have just washed a load of my sister's baby clothes she looked out for me at the weekend. That is it. I was waiting for after the scan before I did anything, just in case. Now I have to have a repeat of the scan, so I'm procrastinating until after that. There will always be an excuse!

MrsGSR · 22/08/2013 11:36

Good luck for the scans today and tomorrow, I'm sure they'll all be amazing. I almost cried at mine.

I think I read that we've got another team Blue, one team pink and a team yellow, I can't remember who is who but congratulations on all the good scans!

Me and DH looked after our nephew yesterday. He's 2 and a half and very cute. DH had an appointment at the bank so I took DN to the park, and then came over really dizzy. Luckily DH wasn't gone to long, he got back just as my vision started to blur so I was able to sit under a tree and have a rest. I have a new found respect for all of you doing this with full time toddlers!

MrsGSR · 22/08/2013 11:42

nature I haven't done anything since the 12 week scan. Before the scan I bought a moses basket (as it was £14 new at asda!) and a few packs of white babygrows. I'm not really planning on doing much more for a few months, I'm hoping the pram we want will go on offer in the next few months, so I'm waiting hopefully! I'm expecting most of our Christmas presents to be baby related so I'm leaving most of the small bits until the last minute! As baby will be in with us for 6 months I've not done anything to the spare room that will become the nursery. Kiddicare do next day delivery so I plan on ordering a cot when she starts to outgrow the basket!

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 22/08/2013 12:19

nature if it helps, my Mum keeps telling me I'm too organised ("why are you buying baby clothes already

Naturegirl82 · 22/08/2013 12:23

Thanks everyone, that makes me feel better. He did just make me feel bad because I've not started pregnancy yoga either yet (was planning on phoning about it at lunch). We do have nearly everything we need thanks to my sis so I'm slowly working through sorting and cleaning it all.

Congrats on all the good scans and good luck to anyone today. Still 1.5 weeks till mine as it is at 21 weeks.

Frizz1986 · 22/08/2013 12:48

nature a friend of mine only has 10 weeks to go and hasn't got anything yet.
I only have things because my amazing sister has loaned us all of my nephews stuff and as we live 180 miles away we have to fill the car every time we visit as we only see my family once every 2 months or so and there is a lot of big stuff to fit into the tiny clio with our dog!

Thanks ladies for helping to relax me. Starting to feel a bit calmer again now, but am sure I will be a mess again in the morning.

Good luck for todays scans. Can't wait to hear about them and what the baby was up to in there Smile

TarkaTheOtter · 22/08/2013 12:49

nature I haven't done anything either yet. That's what paternity leave third trimester is for.

enjoyingscience · 22/08/2013 12:53

I've done close to nothing - bought one pack of vests and some scratch mitts, and that was mainly because DS wanted to buy some baby things while we bought his school uniform.

Need to buy a crib and clothes, and find all the pram bits and bobs. Also thinking about getting isofix bases this time round. Plenty of time for all that yet! I don't think I'll feel validated in buying anything until after the scan, and preferably not until we move house.

Naturegirl82 · 22/08/2013 13:42

You are all making me feel soooo much better Grin . I think we should all just bury our heads in the sand. What's the worst that could happen??!!

Naturegirl82 · 22/08/2013 13:43

Tarka that made me laugh. If I left it to Dh there would be a disaster. This is the man that packed 1 shirt (and that was all he packed!!) for a weekend away!!

Sultanajo · 22/08/2013 14:16

Nature that's hilarious! DH is sooooo last minute with everything - if I left it to him DS would have popped out and on then would he be saying "so what do we need to get?" Wink

Can't wait for the NCT classes to start, so hopefully it will jig him into actually thinking about things more, although he did say out of the blue last night "just over 4 months to go.....!" which then freaked me out a bit and made me want to run out and buy everything NOW! Wink

Still, we are in the process of sorting out the office as DH has we have changed our minds about which room to use as the nursery. So that means moving EVERYTHING out of the office and putting into the other room! Joy!!! Wonder what we will be doing this weekend.....!

TarkaTheOtter · 22/08/2013 14:33

Scan went really well. Turns out I too have an anterior placenta.

MrsGSR · 22/08/2013 14:35

Congrats on the scan tarka!

TarkaTheOtter · 22/08/2013 14:51

Thanks mrsg feeling very relieved.

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 22/08/2013 15:09

tarka yay for scans and welcome to the AP club!
