Back! All good. V small head, apparently, but sonographer wasn't worried. The circumference was within normal bounds but the diameter was below 5th centile. She said she sees it often and it's nothing to worry about. Doesn't help that there's a fibroid of the same size right next to its head, poor thing!

I have to go back in a couple of weeks because it turned to face my back when she wanted to look at the heart. Typical!

MrsVDB · 21/08/2013 13:45

As if my hairy, stretch marky, shallow belly button situation isn't bad enough I now think I'm getting varicose veins on my tummy!! 2 weeks until Bali and I was planning on bikinis!!

Doctorbrownbear · 21/08/2013 13:53

MrsVDB I have dark thread veins on my legs, they look lovely, however, I had them in my last pregnancy and they dissappeared as soon as DD was born. I hope so this time!

enjoyingscience · 21/08/2013 14:29

I'm starting to sprout skin tags and new moles in amongst the hair Mrs, so I'll join you in the super sexy corner over there.

Thankfully, the only place I bare anything is our local swimming baths, and I honestly think that even with the hair/veins/moles I'm still comparing favourably to some in there. It's shit tattoo central most weeks.

AnotherStitchInTime · 21/08/2013 14:54

Hello everyone :)

Congrats on your girl MrsG and glad all well well with your too Humpty.

Toby Glad your scan went okay, despite baby not co-operating. I had little white blobs from both boobs last pregnancy from early on, I took it as a good sign that my milk would be there when baby arrived :)

Hope your scan went well Book

Mythree I had something like that last pregnancy when my ligaments were stretching.

I still have stretch marks from the last pregnancy and my belly button has well and truly popped out. Plus I am shedding a ridiculous amount of hair from my head and it has gone into overdrive. At this rate I will look like cousin IT by the time the baby is born.

Mythreeknights · 21/08/2013 15:29

Whooppeee - I have just heard my baby's heartbeat! Just had an impromptu doppler session with a friend and all is OK :-)

Sultanajo · 21/08/2013 15:42

toby thats really great to hear! Poor little thing with its fibroid companions, but am sure its not fussed! Grin

mythree hurray! What a relief for you! Grin

Loving the sexy comparisons! Fingers crossed so far hair is my main issue and it could be so much worse.....really hope I havent just jinxed myself!,Wink

Just felt a few little kicks while sitting at my desk - yay! Am loving them! Grin

Sultanajo · 21/08/2013 15:46

humpty ohhhh the glamour of it all!

I braved watching the rest of midwives and as some of u said, the twins had me in tears!

MrsVDB · 21/08/2013 16:40

Ah I'm jealous of outie belly buttons and kicks. I just have the rubbish symptoms (although no leaky boobs yet touchwood!) only 18w And always get offered seat on train now so at least I'm showing. Shouldn't complain really :)

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 21/08/2013 16:53

anotherstitch Grin Cousin IT is COOL.

mythree hurrah for reassurance!

toby bloody fibroids getting in the way, but well done baby for accommodating them.

Am now getting busy - planning to see a whole bunch of friends over the next few weeks, and going away, since I can feel myself getting slower/more tired already, and I want to thoroughly nest in my third trimester! Also: is it just me, or is it BOILING today?

Go AWAY heat. I am not enjoying you.

MrsAVB · 21/08/2013 16:54

Yay toby and three!
Have recorded the midwives programme but after your comments I'm not sure I'll watch - I can't bear obem, but that's more because the people on it are always annoying.
I have thread veins on my tummy too, at the top just under my bra. Have had them on my legs for a few years now but they have definitely become more prominent since being pg.
X

Frizz1986 · 21/08/2013 16:59

Congrats people. I am mega showing! Just kinda popped out the past week or so and an a bit worried I might be too big. Think I look about 7 months and am only 19+5 with number 1. Oh well. Belly seems to be rather hard so it's mostly baby (i hope)
Got my scan on friday tho so hoping that all is ok and they don't tell me that baby is huge and oversized lol.

Just asked my boss how her neices pg was going and she had to terminate after 12 weeks due to abnormalities. She hadn't said to me in case it scared me but I said I am already terrified something will be wrong at the scan but trying to be realistic and remember that there is nothing I can do if something bad is going on. Hoping that most major things will have been seen or half noticed at 12 weeks.
Good luck to anyone with scans tomorrow. Only 1 more day for me to wait!

BookTart · 21/08/2013 18:38

Congrats toby and mythree :)

Just got back from scan and all is well. DP had a sudden change of heart, so now we know it is a girl Grin He has wanted a girl from the beginning, so is pleased. It does now mean we have to have the name conversation. The only name on his list is Persephone, which would be fine if his surname wasn't so very plain. Think Persephone Blogg and you'll see my problem...

Good luck for Friday frizz. I'm only a few days further along than you and I'm HUGE already. Suspect mine is mostly cake rather than baby though Blush

extracrunchy · 21/08/2013 18:43

Lovely to hear about the good scans - toby if MW says it's normal, small head can only be a good thing - DS's head was so massive he got properly stuck!

Can't wait to hear about everyone else's. Hope curly's ok.

Sharp pains - either ligaments or possibly early ish braxton hicks? One sided ones sound like ligaments to me though.

extracrunchy · 21/08/2013 18:44

Aw Booktart that's lovely! Funny your DH changed his mind Grin

extracrunchy · 21/08/2013 18:45

I've been using "lovely" a lot today. Clearly everything is lovely! (If a bit hairy and veiny and spotty here too)

sarahleanne · 21/08/2013 19:11

thanks for the thoughts this morning Grin
scan went well, the sonographer was great and I was In there fr about 25 minutes. She said the head was measuring big, then checked it again and said it was ok but now im convinced I have a baby with a big head. dh is convinced he saw a willy but ive been staring at scan pics and im convinced its a girl, there's no visible willy and the forehead is curved at the front not flat which apparently means girl?

looks like its been a good day for scans!! congratulations toby, book and anyone else that's had scans today.
mrs congrats on your girl!

Toothfairy78 · 21/08/2013 19:39

Evenin' all!

Glad to hear of good scans today!

Had mine too today. All looks good and we're team yellow! Apparently tooth jr thinks sitting still is for WIMPS! Little monkey managed to second guess the sonographer at nigh on every move and get an arm or leg in the way each time.

I have started feeling even more kicks today too and DH it's possible could faintly feel a kick too, though we're not sure. Very exciting!

Right better go scan my pics and send to the rellies...

sarahleanne · 21/08/2013 19:45

congratulations tooth glad all went well

I forgot to say in my post that I found out my placenta is at the front which would explain why I havnt felt as many kicks as I did with my other 2 at this stage. The baby was non stop moving and I couldn't even feel it.So I think it has to properly kick out for me to notice.

Mac2014 · 21/08/2013 20:11

Yay for the all fantastic scans. I'm with frizz on Friday and have everything crossed.

It's bonkers how paranoid this whole thing makes you... Midwives & OBEM really don't help. We had to turn midwives off when the lady who'd had to terminate at 21 weeks was talking about it. DH & I ended up having to watch QI as a distraction.

I too have weird pains that ended up being constipation ... Nice!!

SarahJayne321 · 21/08/2013 20:19

So glad it's all been good on the scan front today :)

Ours was all good, although once again baby was led face down and we had to go for a walk to get him, (yes HIM!!!) to turn round to she could get measurements. Then he wouldn't sit still long enough! Managed to get then eventually and she said everything looked fine.

Oh and if you didn't guess, were team BLUE! OH over the moon and had a little blubber :)

Sultanajo · 21/08/2013 20:26

mac that was the point I turned off too! Blush

Fantastic scan news ladies! Loads of scans today! I am so surprised how many of us have anterior placentas.... Woop woop!

Penny31 · 21/08/2013 20:45

So pleased for everyone with the great scans! Also pleased that we are forming and anterior placenta club too :) is the norm actually to have the opposite??

Toothfairy78 · 21/08/2013 20:46

Oh yes may I be a member of the anterior placenta club too please?

Mine's high up though so until this afternoon only feeling low movements.

Seriously we saw Jr really kick hard and I didn't feel a thing this morning. This afternoon though I started getting pokes all over!

TobyLerone · 21/08/2013 20:58

Congrats on all the good scans today and so far :)

Book, Persephone is on our list too. We may have to liaise if I have a girl and make sure we're not so close to each other that they'll be attending the same school :o We have a bigger girls' list than boys' list, and Persephone isn't the frontrunner, so it's probably fine Wink
