Hurray wuxi

Good news coolhand saw your piccy on fb Smile

Our first anniversary, well the baby will be around 2/3 weeks old! Mil was saying last night how they would love to send us to the hotel where we had our reception for the night to have dinner and champagne etc. Obviously that won't be happening but it's a lovely idea.

Talking with my aunt today about how I cleaned all upstairs yesterday, I said "I don't know what came over me." She said "perhaps you're pregnant". I quickly carried on talking!!

rescoonetwothree · 15/08/2013 17:11

Congrats to those who had their scans today!!

Our anniversary has been and gone before pg but according to one of my scans the due date is my birthday, the baby will be a few weeks old, but not like we usually celebrate it anyway, so lazy haha!

LyraSilvertongue · 15/08/2013 17:15

Hi raspberrys Grin

Fb group is full of pics, bumps, scans, DC, partners etc. Come and join!

Beccadugs · 15/08/2013 17:19

Talking of anniversaries, it is our first on Sunday!
It was the hottest day of the year last year, and I was so hot in my wedding dress.

As I am still suffering from morning sickness from HELL I'm not sure we will be doing anything fancy!!

Edamame · 15/08/2013 17:37

Smillie0, my scan letter says 45 minutes (at UCH), they have been extremely organised so far, even booked in my 16 week appointment (because it's my first baby) last week

Weclome Raspberrys and woohoo on the scan! Congratulations!

mimili · 15/08/2013 17:51

Hi Lyra am planning on joining straight after my scan!!

Now keep those fingers crossed for a scan date!

FrankelInFoal · 15/08/2013 18:02

I've been told to book my 16 week appointment myself once the scan has given me the all clear. They've already given me the pot to pee in for it Grin

IceNoSlice · 15/08/2013 18:24

Hi folks, I have good scan news Smile

Saw the little bean jumping up and down and looking like an actual, y'know baby! Was lovely.

Re: time it takes. Totally depends on the hospital and luck on the day, I suspect. At Birmingham women's for DS, we were there for over 3 hours. Mostly waiting. Today at Worcester Royal we were seen after about 15 mins. They scanned for ages because the baby kept wriggling and getting into any position except the one they needed for the nuchal scan. So we were in the clinic for about 45 mins in total.

Am very happy Smile

Welcome, raspberry

NoMaybeAboutIt · 15/08/2013 18:32

Congrats Ice! Lovely news.

Hi Raspberry!

LyraSilvertongue · 15/08/2013 18:48

Great news Ice Smile

SoSurprised · 15/08/2013 19:15

Congrats Ice! That's lovely

Coolhand · 15/08/2013 19:45

Good news Ice - I'm still on a high from this afternoon. It now feels real! Was waiting to see how things went for you.

Wuxiapian · 15/08/2013 19:58

Yay, Cool and Ice!!

Hot and Lyra, it's so exciting to finally have a date! The wait until then is going to take aaggeees! Are you am or pm? I'm pm.

Was told in my previous 2 pregnancies to have full bladder for scan.

commsgirl · 15/08/2013 19:59

Welcome raspberry

Congrats to those who had scans today - so exciting!

HotCrossPun · 15/08/2013 20:16

I'm 2pm Wuxia

I know, it's not often I wish a weekend away but I just want it to be next week NOW!

My letter doesn't mention a full bladder. I'm chubby though so I'm going to make sure it's full so I get a good picture Grin

JustCallMeBaldrick · 15/08/2013 20:18

Good scan news here too Smile

Baby was unco-operative, but did a little dance with a wave at the end! It was in a good position for the Michael measurements though.

I'll join the FB group when I get on the laptop, and post my pics of #4!!

JustCallMeBaldrick · 15/08/2013 20:18

*nuchal (stupid auto-correct)

Imeg · 15/08/2013 20:22

Hi,

Feeling a bit grotty this week: lots of retching and threw up my dinner the other night. Dizzy/tired too. Fortunately work is quieter for me in the summer, and I've got next week off (can't wait to doze on the sofa!)

I have lost a bit of weight, although unsure of exact amounts as hadn't weighed myself for a while before pregnancy. I am eating but not as much as normal. I presume it must be quite common to lose a bit of weight in early pregnancy when feeling sick so presumably not too much of a problem?

I'll be 11 weeks tomorrow, have a scan on Monday, fingers crossed it's all ok. Very much hoping I'll be feeling better soon before work gets busy again in September.

PramQueen1971 · 15/08/2013 20:23

Welcome Raspberry.

Congrats on the scans, ladies.

I hope I don't sound harsh but I am uncomfortable with inviting brand new members to join the facebook group. We have no idea who they are and I've too much to keep private, if I'm honest. I don't know what the answer is but the antenatal thread I was on last year didn't allow newbies to join the facebook group until it was established they were a) real and b) going to stick around.

PramQueen1971 · 15/08/2013 20:27

...I've just realised: my private facebook wall will remain private regardless. As you were, then... Confused

LyraSilvertongue · 15/08/2013 20:32

Wux, mine is at 2.30pm. I've been told to come with a full bladder.

Dabarai · 15/08/2013 20:46

Welcome to all newbies!

Ice and CoolHand LOVELY pics, so can't wait for mine!

Pram - no snot, I am trying to behave in a dignified way, like!

Our anniversary is in February, I will be 38 weeks and counting! My OH's birthday is in March and he gets tadpole as his present!

We don't own a car, both cycle to work usually. We could get a little trailer to go with our Bromptons... :)

Wuxiapian · 15/08/2013 20:48

We'll all be there the same time, then, Hot and Lyra. My appointment is 2:10pm.

I'm hoping they're able to find baby - I'm carrying 2 stone extra blubber - most of it being on my gut. Tut.

commsgirl · 15/08/2013 20:51

imeg I've lost 13lbs. Midwife not worried as I'm keeping most food/water down.

Imeg · 15/08/2013 21:11

Thank you commsgirl, I don't think I've lost as much as you so that's reassuring.

I think my scan letter says that I need a full bladder. When I went for the early dating scan I followed the instructions perfectly, was in absolute agony bursting for the loo while they went through endless forms and explained about the gel and the probe in words of one syllable. Then when I got in the scan room they said that as it was so early they weren't going to bother trying a transabdominal scan and so sent me straight to the loo... Was a little annoyed but on the other hand it was such a relief to pee I hardly noticed the indignities of an internal scan!
