I think mine has turned this week too Clapham, Would make sense as I think your due date is the day before mine. I'm sure I can feel its bum just below my ribcage and its back running against my belly. It's certainly very hard when I prod that area anyway.

Welcome back by the way, hope you enjoyed your break.

I've literally spent all day thrashing out the bank holiday/maternity leave issue with work, requesting my contract, getting it amended, emailing the HR company that we deal with - argh. It's been a complete mindf*, but I think I've finally sorted it.

Anyway looks like I can add this year's Christmas bank holidays to my holiday for next year (ours runs Jan-Jan), so I can tack that and the accrued basic and next year's bank holidays on the end if my mat leave - hurrah!

Wickedgirl · 12/08/2013 17:24

Great news jelly.

Emilia is a lovely name......it always makes me think of emilia fox who is lovely

I finally saw a Physio this morning after a 9 week wait. They didn't know I was pregnant otherwise they would have seen me faster. Grrr. I now have a lovely maternity belt to wear during the day that actually hurts my hips if I walk more than 100 yards. Still, I'm nearly 32 weeks now so not long to go. It's ironic but I know that I'll be able to sleep so much better once the baby is here as I will be comfy again. Most newborns after the first few weeks can manage 2-3 hours between feeds. I would love to have 2-3 hours of uninterrupted sleep!

thethreeblondies · 12/08/2013 19:27

Hi all, glad to see some good test/scan results for those of you with concerns Smile

Saw my midwife today, everything ok baby head down was nice that she got to meet DH (she is case loading me) she asked if I was coping ok with slight pelvic pain but I know my triggers and am trying to take it easier (7 shifts left at work Grin ) Have iron tablets as blood tests came back slightly anemic. But apart from everything is fine and boring!

Still can't decide on names or pushchair! Think I'm over thinking the options for pushchair, need car seat and a decent off roader for dog walking but I'm also going to be in and out of car doing school run, not sure if seperates, a maxi cosi car seat would fit on our quinny frame would be best, or to go for the mothercare Xtreme travel system that we had for DD's, a car seat and decent 3 wheeler but heavy to use out of boot twice a day! DD2 loved it in sling and didn't go in pushchair much, hum de dum decisions decisions!

Shootingstarsandcomets · 12/08/2013 19:37

Welcome home clapham! Hope holiday was good. Your story of the 8 and 9 year old playing and being close has cheered me, this is what I am hoping for my two. And yes, I have been allowed a vbac so am super thrilled!
Good news re scan jelly
Have just let dinner burn........oops......

chickieno1 · 12/08/2013 20:02

threeblondies I agree about pushchair just can't decide. What do you ladies think about forward facing versus parent facing?? Thanks for advice......

Shootingstarsandcomets · 12/08/2013 20:11

chicken we have the stokke xplory which does forward facing. I love it and so does ds. I think when they are small they quite like facing you and also you can talk to them and point things out, also can see if they are falling asleep etc. sometimes I face ds out as he's 11 months now but if he's in a clingy mood he still likes looking at me. We're getting a tandem that doesn't do forward facing though Sad but I'm hoping to have the new one in a sling mostly and still use the xplory for ds when he needs it. Only plan to use the double for dreaded supermarket trips or very rainy days when I can't sling dc2!

Sanjifair · 12/08/2013 20:33

shooting we have the stokke xplory too. It is in blue, am not too sure whether to get new covers if it is a girl or just stick with it and get all the 'oh I thought it was a boy' comments. But I might have another boy, in which case it is no problem. Stokke is particularly good for tall mums, I wouldn't recommend it if you are on the small side, my MIL can't see over the top!

falcon yay, good news on the GTT. Plenty of time for baby to turn.

clapham sounds like a good holiday, shame it's all a big stressful now you are back though.

None of our preferred names are top 10, which is good. We still haven't decided though, only discussed it once.
My DH really likes Emilia, but I have said no as a close friend has twins, one is called my DS's name, and the other is Emilia. Can't copy them twice!!

Jane4321 · 12/08/2013 20:50

Hello all, bit late to join but better late than never!
I have a 21 month old dd and am starting to get nervous about having two under two!
Hope everyone is well x
:)

Flyer747 · 12/08/2013 21:22

Welcome Jane, we are a busy chatty bunch on here. Smile

Pinkforboys · 12/08/2013 21:22

Yey! Just 'won' a Baby Bjorn Carrier on Ebay. Next the bouncer.....

So glad to hear the scans & tests went well today all round. x

MrsO27 · 12/08/2013 21:42

Glad to hear all is well jelly and welcome back clapham
Welcome newbies and well done pink. There's loads of baby bjorn bouncers on eBay isn't there? They seem to have a decent resell value. Mine is on it's way so should get it later this week.
I've started getting some pain in what I can only describe as my vulva/pubic bone. It gets worse as the day goes on. Kind of feels bruised and heavy. Does anyone know what that can be? Don't see mw again until 29th August.

claphammama · 12/08/2013 22:18

welcome jane and congrats on baby bjorn pink! Can I ask how much you ended up paying? I borrowed it from friends last time and quite liked it but found that I didn't use it a lot. So I would want it but not badly enough to pay 90 quid for it... ebay may be my solution then!

mrs027 I have exactly the same sensation and, as it started about a week / 10 days ago and coincided with stronger kicks near my ribcage, my personal theory is that the baby has turned head down and it's head pushing on my bits... I find it really uncomfortable, like something is dragging me down, and it gets worse towards the end of the day... it's only my totally personal theory though!

would love to chat to DP to make up after this morning's argument but he is still on the plane... struggle to go to bed without making up even if he is not here Sad

HotSoupDumpling · 12/08/2013 22:22

Welcome Jane!

I LOvE 'Emilia', I think it sounds classy and pretty and not too twee!

Not sure what your pain could be MrsO, hopefully someone else can sympathise. I get that pain but only during pregnancy sex!

Pink, I've been watching a few babybjorn auctions too. I think I won't be able to get my bouncer from ebay though as after some research realised there is a difference between the 'babysitter balance' and the 'balance soft' - the latter is softer (new model I think) and not really present on eBay yet. Can't decide whether I want the soft one or whether I'm being too'PFB' about the whole thing!

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 12/08/2013 22:29

HotSoup - I'm going for the newer 'soft' model - I'm unashamedly being very 'PSB' (precious second born!)

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 12/08/2013 22:40

A quick welcome back to Clapham and a hello to Jane

Great to hear good news from Jelly, Falcon and Shooting.

Clapham - arrrgggghh, I really hate that DP away, can't settle to sleep feeling.

Pinkforboys · 12/08/2013 22:45

I got the carrier for 25squid plus postage. It's an 'organic brown' one which caught my eye.... DS1 loved being carried in the one I borrowed from my bro, but that's not around anymore.
Thanks for the heads up on the bouncer, I'd better do my research....

I've no idea what bubba 2 is doing inside me- I have so many wriggles around my belly button on both sides whenever I sit or lie down. Second time round and there must be enough room in my uterus for some ballroom dancing.

Welcome Jane and Goodnight to all.
Oh- and love Conrad and Emilia! And Matthew's a classic xx

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 12/08/2013 22:53

Good night Pink - like you I have no idea what this baby is up to or what position he/she is in.

I have strange sensations and wriggles all over the place, and, even when lumpy bits poke out, I can't tell a foot from a hand from a bum!

I'm a bit rubbish at that sort of stuff.

favellio · 12/08/2013 22:54

Welcome Jane and all the other newbies Smile
I've got my 32 week growth scan tomorrow. My DH can't make it, so asked my mum if she'd like to join me......I don't think I've seen her get so excited about anything ever!!
Hopefully my excess fluid will have decreased a bit. Now I just wish my SPD would do one!
With regards to names, our fav boys names is right near the top of the list but we don't know any other kids close to us with that name, so reckon we'll use it anyway. We've still not decided about girls names. I heard a girl called Havanna the other day, which I thought sounded pretty, then DH said it reminded him of cigars and flip flops Hmm
For those still stuck for prams/travel systems, look up the maxi cosi Elea. The reviews are fantastic and we're really pleased with ours.
Fingers crossed we all get a good night's sleep tonight Envy

Flyer747 · 12/08/2013 23:20

Oh no Clapham Hmm send dp a landing text. I always loved getting my landing texts from dp when I turned my phone on after a long flight.

I bought a baby Bjorn carrier off eBay and still haven't fathomed out how I use the thing, I'm always a bit last minute.

thethreeblondies · 12/08/2013 23:25

Pink a ballroom dancing baby sounds lovely, mine feels like it's practising karate! It had better not follow this crazy pattern of going crazy at bedtime once it arrives Grin

TheFalconsmistress · 12/08/2013 23:56

Cant sleep up looking at Disney brochure thinking of Disneyland Paris next summer Smile

PseudoBadger · 13/08/2013 06:01

Favellio good luck today - I didn't realise you have excess fluid - I did too at my last scan so I've got a consultant apt on Thursday.

PseudoBadger · 13/08/2013 06:02

Back to work after holiday today - 9 days left, 6 of those in the office....

MrsO27 · 13/08/2013 06:29

clapham according to 'Dr Google' it might be vulval varicose veins (nice), but can never trust a self administered Internet diagnosis. Mine probably started around same time as you. Just got worse past couple of days.
Good luck with the scan favellio

favellio · 13/08/2013 06:52

Afraid so pseudo. Been measuring several weeks ahead for a while now, consultant has been a bit concerned. Good luck with your consultant appointment!!

Last scan at 28 weeks, fluid was around 10cm at deepest point. Sonographer didn't seem concerned but the consultant was and I had to have GTT and a blood test screening called TORCH which tests for various infections. That was 4 weeks ago and I've not heard anything so assuming it was all ok. I've got another consultant appointment tomorrow morning to discuss today's scan.
Only problem with excess fluid and an anterior placenta is I don't feel as much movement as I'd like Hmm
