crosspost - shooting does it mean you are allowed a VBAC? I must have missed it. Yay!! I know you really wanted it Grin so happy for you.
warlin I really like Matthew and agree, it's timeless.

Flyer747 · 12/08/2013 13:34

Clapham all men can be such ass's at times...women and men are definitely from different planets Grin

ComtesseDeFrouFrou · 12/08/2013 13:39

Glad the baby names has reassured some of you - sorry its panicked others Grin

Another one who's not scared of the birth, which is weird because it was one of the key reasons i didn't feel ready to have a baby until now.

claphammama · 12/08/2013 13:42

exactly flyer it really felt like we were talking in two different languages this morning!

comtesse are you still set on Conrad too?

Tarlia · 12/08/2013 13:50

Eeekkk never fun to name a baby right after the release of 'The List'! Our chosen names isn't on there, though we also have the problem that its not a recognised name in this country so have the stress of 'applying' for it after birth.

I like Emilia, do see it as the same name as Amelia but if you love it def go for it! It might drop 20 by next year!

Mathew, I don't think it's a bad thing it's dropped, I think it'll always be one of those names that floats on the list as its a classic name.

clapham welcome back to reality Flowers it's always a big let down coming back from a lovely holiday :(. I would feel the same re DH, but try not to hold it against him as I guess the quick turn around and literally being thrown into work at the deep end with a business trips not fun. He does forget you are left to clear up the post holiday mess though!

Flyer747 · 12/08/2013 13:55

Clapham is your dp still having to go on a business trip I'm September to the Far East?

I'm supposed to be sorting the nursery out today, it resembles a bomb site in there, however I have zero motivation and am sat watching A place in the Sun....daytime tv is lame.

ComtesseDeFrouFrou · 12/08/2013 14:07

clapham I wouldn't so much say set, being as I still have wobbles about it, but yes, it's number one choice for a boy. I suspect it might ruffle a few family feathers, but never mind. I'm not particularly worried about MIL's feathers getting ruffled, they're always getting ruffled about something or other Grin

None of our names have made it into the top 100, which I am pleased about, despite the names all being recognisable.

Our girl choices are Beatrice Lydia or Claudia Elodie. I was all set on Beatrice, but I can't decide if I like Claudia more now. I guess we'll wait until the baby pops out and then decide.

TheFalconsmistress · 12/08/2013 14:11

Had a scan today re non movement she is fine still big but the super good news is my GTT test was back and i am not diabetic!!!! yey! small mercy and all that. The only thing that did come up is she is now in a transverse lie and is she has not moved back down by my 36+2 scan I think they may look at CS fun times...

Other than that DH is looking for a better job UK wide so we can move from here and live somewhere a little nicer, so any good areas with jobs let me know!

Sorry for the me me me, Jelly hope you are ok.

claphammama · 12/08/2013 14:16

you are right tarlia and it's also a relatively new job he finds very challenging so not nice to be thrown right into it after two weeks of good life... He also needs to put together a big presentation on the plane today. I shall be forgiving.

flyer yes, the trip to HK is still on the cards although I know he is trying to get out of it. A friend of his just had a baby at 35 weeks so I can see that he is becoming more aware of the dates and how nature doesn't always respect our plans!

By the way, think my baby turned head down when we were on holidays, about 10 days ago. All of the sudden I started feeling strong kicks only above the belly button and only smaller movements down below. So I'm guessing legs up and hands down? I know it's still very early (29+5) so he has time to turn round a few more times if he wants to! Has anyone else noticed that the baby may have turned and you are getting kicks in different places? I have a MW appointment on Wednesday so will be interesting to see if she can confirm it or it's just my imagination...

rubytwosday · 12/08/2013 14:21

bowlful I love Emilia, much nicer than Amelia IMO. Would have been a strong contender for us but my friend called her little girl Emilia in January. She is the sweetest little thing and generally gets called Emi whereas the Amelia's I have known were both known as Millie. We have pretty much settled on Alice and call bump that sometimes. It was number 32 last year but I'm fine with that. Currently on summer hols but really lacking motivation today - have done nothing so far! Must get off the sofa and clean the house!

claphammama · 12/08/2013 14:25

good news on GTT test results falcon! Fingers crossed your baby decides to turn round! Ironically I've just posted about it myself! He still has time

pinkbuttons · 12/08/2013 14:38

our name is in the top 10 in all regions except ours... We knew it was popular though so wont change our mind, I was one of 3 people with the same name in my class at secondary school so will just have to hope she doesnt mind either Smile

pinkbuttons · 12/08/2013 14:39

forgot to say great news about GTT results falcon glad all was ok but fingers crossed for baby turning around soon.

JellyCurls · 12/08/2013 14:53

Thanks for all the good wishes ladies. Quickest scan in the world has shown everything ok Grin and baby measuring completely average. Head well down and baby was holding and sucking its feet -very cute. Got midwife appointment next week and just to keep an eye on things.

MotherOfNations · 12/08/2013 15:01

I like Emelia too Bowlful. It was one of the names on my sisters list when she was expecting my neice but she decided against it as many Glaswegians would pronounce it Emeelya.
I understand what you mean about people perhaps thinking you've chosen an alternative spelling to Amelia. I often wonder iif people think I've made up he spelling of my youngest dd's name as it's pronounced the same as Lena but spelt Linah.

MotherOfNations · 12/08/2013 15:02

That's great news Jelly. I hope the remaining few weeks are worry free for you

MotherOfNations · 12/08/2013 15:04

Emilia obviously.

Warlin · 12/08/2013 15:06

Fab news Jelly and Falcon

Clap I think my baby is still transverse....it really needs to turn as I'm almost 33 weeks. I would be heartbroken to have a C Section but hey ho, will just have to wait and see. Hopefully he turns soon. Seeing the midwife next week so will know then. Really hoping your little Conrad has turned though and stays put :)

We have been calling bump Ed (Edward) for the last 12 weeks or so and it feels now like I don't know who's inside me if we are thinking of a name change! It's so hard.

clap men can be idiots and just don't understand pregnancy but I don't envy him either. I had a fight with dh last week (and we rarely fight). It was over something totally trivial but he tends to huff and refuse to talk whereas I like to get things sorted then and there! He thinks I go on and on but I really hate going to bed on a argument and it really stresses me out....men are clueless in relation to hormones etc and should learn to tread more carefully :)

Gah, I have no motivation today (or any day in work tbh). I just have other things on my mind these days lol

BowlFullofJelly · 12/08/2013 15:14

Great news Jelly, I hope you are feeling much more at ease now.

Thanks for all of the nice comments about Emilia - this really is a very friendly place compared to the rest of MN! I'm still worried about constantly correcting people, but it just feels like her name now, don't really feel that we can change our minds (even though I'm not sure we ever actually made up our minds IYKWIM?)

I don't really know which way baby is lying. I get virtually all movement on right hand side above belly button. But I haven't had any proper kicks for weeks now, is all writhing and pushing. Does this sound like head down Confused?

Haylebop12 · 12/08/2013 15:19

My dd is Amelia, so definite bias there! Wasn't worried about its popularity at the time (2009, think it was 9th) as I was too in love with the name to really be bothered. She is the only one in her year which is great, but there again there re very few girls. 8:22! She never gets called Millie, mainly because I don't like it and generally is Amelia or mills.

This time around Isaac is 33 ish I think so that's fine. Popular enough the people have heard of it but not common enough that there will be 3 in his class. Such a big thing choosing the right name!

Haylebop12 · 12/08/2013 15:23

My point was that Amelia has become so popular lately that Emilia almost seems like the classier version and I think it's lovely!

chickieno1 · 12/08/2013 15:40

Good news about the scan jelly and great GTT was normal falcon

Great news about your sister lost. My brother and sil told us this weekend that she's pregnant!!! She's due next march, we're all really excited for them and my dad is over the moon! This ll be his third grandchild :)

clapham men can be so strange when they're stressed. Not nice when he's getting on a plane though and you guys are jut back from holiday. Hope your day goes quickly.

1stimer are you doing yoga?? I found it very helpful both physically and emotionally esp towards end of pregnancy. Can be a relaxed way to meet other mums to be and sometimes the instructors are quite good for little tips about labour etc.

Really like name emilia bowlful

Ok going to look at list of names now.......

TheFalconsmistress · 12/08/2013 15:51

Thanks everyone Smile

Im 33+1 today so I just have to hope she pops back to head down by my 36 week scan I think even then they scan you again at 37 and 38 then book you for CS if not moved so there is time for us transverse ladies!

TheFalconsmistress · 12/08/2013 15:52

And jelly great news I think they love to panic us!!

claphammama · 12/08/2013 16:09

good news jelly!

Thanks chickien and warlin.

warlin - how funny, this is exactly how we are! I need to talk things through and clarify everything before I can move on and make up. And DP goes into his "cave" and just gets sarcastic. Totally different approach to communication then! Hope your little one turns around soon. And re: my motivation at work... as you can see, first day back in the office and I'm super busy going through my inbox catching up on MN! Smile
