Just Shagging Grads, here is your shiny new Fred!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The last thread saw plenty of births and we've got loads of new Grads to add to the mix. Bring on the TMI posts, the midnight moans, the birthwatches and the pom poms!

Our stats thread is here, so if you find us, please add your stats too.

There is also a Just Mumming thread for grads of the grads thread

And if you want to find out what Just Shagging is about or catch up with the undergrads go say hello to the Just Shaggers here, now on the 17th thread.

I'm 7+1 now wil. I do still feel its going slow though. I am one those with an early scan in the cards next week too. Sorry viroids! But I was offered it by clinic and I think it's right decision for me.

Day off today, lovely weather for it... Hmm

wilhelminand · 23/05/2014 13:58

I didn't mean to come across like a judgemental idiot when talking about early scans, sorry Dulcet Blush, quite often speak without engaging brain. TBH if someone offered one, I wouldn't turn it down. It was just last time I got pg, on the November thread, everyone seemed to be hunting them out and paying lots for them - I hadn't really heard of people having them before unless for medical reasons and I guess it just made me think whether I would bother or not. I obviously have no preference about what other people choose to do, just didn't think it would offer me any reassurance personally. Am I digging myself a bigger hole? I'll shut up Grin.

We have nice weather for once. I permanently seem to have the opposite weather to the rest of you.

FurryScoob · 23/05/2014 16:52

Evening viroids

Good luck with the scans dulcet & minion

Love the name fifi, we're waiting to find out the sex before name wars begin. We've decided to double barrel our surnames as DP has quite a short common surname & were not getting married.

I've got a lovely long weekend at work to get through while DP's gone on a drinking weekend with his mates. Came home from work to a pile of cash & instructions to get a takeaway & put my feet up!

Minion · 23/05/2014 17:00

Wish mine had offered me an early one. Instead she just jabbed me with a needle. Harsh man x

RPopz · 23/05/2014 17:56

Ooh Scoob you lucky lady!

I don't think we're against early scans in here Dulce. I'd definitely have one if offered but don't think I want to pay for one. Must admit I'm surprised how many people on the January bus are paying for them. My friend had one as she had a prev miscarriage and then bleeding early on so wanted the reassurance. In a situation like that I'd definitely want one too, but since everything's been normal thus far I will wait.

Preggers girl at work stated today she is going to "play the pregnancy card" next week if anyone tries to get her to do work she doesn't want to do (she is NINE weeks pg!!) Oh man.

Thunderstorms here... joy!

wilhelminand · 23/05/2014 18:32

Oh Rpopz she sounds dreadful, that'll do wonders for the stereotyping of pregnant women in the workplace. Did she announce her pg as soon as she found out?

Girls I have been having really strong ERTD-like cramps all afternoon. Can I please request a chorus of 'it's perfectly normal, nothing to worry about' etc? I actually am a little worried because they have been constant for hours now whereas general pg twinges don't usually hang around long.

FurryScoob · 23/05/2014 18:39

wil it's perfectly normal & nothing to worry about!
I'm 16 weeks tomorrow & still getting them occationally, still worry every time too!

RPopz · 23/05/2014 18:41

I know right. And yeah pretty much (so, as another colleague very accurately commented today, she can milk the maximum possible attention out of it!)

I had ERTDy cramps for a whole fortnight after my bfp. If anything they were worse than my usual period pains. All was/ is well. My book says it means things are going right more often than something sinister Grin

JuniDD · 23/05/2014 18:44

wil - try not to worry, and keep drinking. The cramps can be due to thirst, that poppy seed needs a lot of water to grow. I was woken up by them in the early days and had to take painkillers so try not to stress out. As long as you're not bleeding too, it's all good.

rpopz your colleague is going to have a LONG pregnancy! I still haven't told work. No one who sees me out of work can believe they haven't twigged but I wear lots of scarves and bend over a lot. Wink

furryscoob we're doing exactly the same with the name, although we don't want to find out the sex til B-day. My partner's dad was saying "ooh, this'll be my first grandchild with my name!" and we were like...well, half of it. Presumptuous much?!

Definitely not against early scans, it was very helpful for me and if it's free, why not?

wilhelminand · 23/05/2014 19:21

Thanks all, I've had to lie down with a hot water bottle and had got myself all in a panic so it's quite reassuring to hear all that. I know there's no point worrying as you can't do anything anyway but that's easier said than done. Maybe I should take painkillers because I wouldn't worry so much if I couldn't feel them.

When are you going to tell them Juni?

DulcetMoans · 23/05/2014 20:10

Oh I didn't think anyone was being judgemental really - I'm not that easily offended wil, don't worry! Just mentioning so it isnt all awkward when I pop in next week with the early scan update but everyone had rejected it. I think timing has played into my favour to get mine min, called to cancel follow up clinic appointment as pg and they said come in at the end of the month. Sure I wouldn't have got it otherwise.

Your colleague sounds delightful. I really want you to just quietly and calmly announce with her in the room. I think the rest if the office might enjoy that too!

Will you use the in laws name juni? That is presumptuous!

RPopz · 23/05/2014 20:44

Is anyone else's mn app broken?? Mine hasn't let me in for days now!

DulcetMoans · 23/05/2014 20:48

I'm in it now popz, and posted the message below from there.

RPopz · 23/05/2014 20:54

Strange. Maybe I'll try deleting it and reinstalling it.

Minion · 23/05/2014 21:35

Hold the phone.
There's an app?

RPopz · 23/05/2014 21:38

Haha Min I thought it was you who'd told me about it!

Well, its actually happened. I don't even want to eat chocolate anymore. Can someone wake me up in the second trimester plz?

JuniDD · 23/05/2014 22:37

awww, rpopz Sad I'm a bit off chocolate too but forcing it down. The app's been broken for a while, there's a thread in site stuff but looks like they may have fixed it now?

We're planning to double-barrel our names, they go well together. The in-laws basically have nothing to do with us but I am close to my family so would rather the baby had my name but as my partner is the only male in his family he asked nicely if his could go in there too. Wink

Not sure when I'll tell work, I'll see how it goes. Bump is definitely there but still reasonably easy to hide. Maybe after 20 week scan as I am starting to get scanxious again!

I've had a bit of an upset stomach tonight so that's got me worried. I'm prone to IBS type stuff but haven't had a problem for a while. I hope it'll go away after a good night's sleep. And no grapes, that's what started it all off!

wilhelminand · 23/05/2014 23:09

scanxious, love it. Hope you feel better in the morning.

Off chocolate? Nope, don't think I've ever faced that predicament, how very strange. Hope you also feel better soon Rpopz.

Minion · 24/05/2014 05:42

That's exactly how I was popz, I'm happy to report that it is no longer the case!
I had a good chuckle at scanxious, it's so right! And can I say, comforting knowing that pretty much everyone goes through the same thing.
Well today is moving day and I'm in agony from yesterday so can see me being as much use as tits on a fish.

DulcetMoans · 24/05/2014 09:32

Maybe I've got your chocolate allocation popz, I'm eating more of it than I ever did before. Just need a square if dairy milk every now and again in the evenings.

First wedding of the year today. DH is on drink hiding duties: a careful system of swapping glasses is planned.

RPopz · 24/05/2014 10:12

Oooh I love a good wedding. Hope you have fun even without the booze!

Thanks for the well wishes everyone. I have a day of cleaning ahead of me - oh the joys!

JuniDD · 24/05/2014 14:43

Hope the wedding is going off well dulcet and it's a nicer day than it is here. And you manage to hide the drinks!

Strangely before both my scans I was so nervous, particularly the first one, to the point that I didn't want to have them! But once I got to the waiting room I felt reasonably calm.

Am feeling much better today, although lots of aches in the bump region. Hey ho. MrDD is cross with me today for being messy so I'm hiding on the sofa with some mini eggs (which he found in my mess!)

HungryHorace · 24/05/2014 14:46

Hi all!

I was a JSer a while ago (as MrsBri) and had my DD last June. I'm now pregnant with DC2 and 29+2 :-)

I just popped in to say huge congrats to Dulcet as we were on a TTC thread when we'd both just started TTCing, which us when I got pregnant with DD. I'm so pleased that you've finally got your BFP.

Congrats to everyone else too!

If anybody wants to join the JSing secret Facebook group, PM me your real name / email address / description of your profile picture and I'll get you added. :-)

It's a great place to share scan / baby photos!

wilhelminand · 24/05/2014 17:39

Hi Horace, congratulations! Hats off to you having a second one so quickly, I think I was still shellshocked at that stage!

Juni please send Mr DD round to my house so he can get cross with MrWil for his messiness.

Enjoy the wedding Dulcet.
tits on a fish - I'm loving all these sayings you're all coming out with.

Well it turns out my cramps are digestive-system related. I either have a tummy bug or have eaten something dodgy. So a bit relieved although hoping it isn't something that can cause any problems. Am going out for dinner tonight though and I can't cancel so that's going to be interesting...

RPopz · 24/05/2014 19:13

Hope the moves going okay Min ... moving is knackering enough at the best of times!

Had my first nap today...big mistake!!!

Hi Horace - congratulations! Can't decide about fb - worried I'll see someone I know in there haha! X
