keep that's sounds amazing. Although I can't imagine wanting to do that 20+ weeks.

I don't have anything planned this weekend. My Dp wants to go to his parents tonight but I really can't be bothered, I just find it so boring and would rather chill at home for half an hour.

munxx come back and tell me what you are getting for brooking baby? I haven't a clue what to buy ds. I can't think of anything.

trix I hope your scan is great on Monday.

keep I'm very impressed you are reading about labour. I refused to talk, listen or read anything about labour until I was 37 weeks. I was in denial.

keepitgoing · 30/08/2013 09:27

My niece preferred the wrapping paper to the present I got her at 1, pen... Maybe some good books or something like that, and write in the front of them so he can keep them when he's older.

Re exercise, I think it's good to keep it up as long as you can. It really does make you feel better to get the blood pumping. And as she changes the exercises each month, and is pregnant too so has the same size belly to deal with, it feels both safe and realistic. For example now I'm in month 7 we have to hold a chair so that we don't topple over... Grin

It's funny, when I look down I don't see such a big tummy, but when I catch sight of myself sideways in a mirror I can't believe it how different I look.

ThedementedPenguin · 30/08/2013 09:50

Yea I know what you mean. It was my nieces 1st birthday a week ago and she was so overwhelmed by everything she didn't play with much. However my ds took everything off her and played with it.

I'm between getting him a trike or a bounce and spin zebra but he won't be able to use zebra yet and the trike is one from 10months and Im not sure if he will get any use out of it as his birthday half way through Sept.

keep the excerise dvds do sound good. I'm going to look them up.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 30/08/2013 10:19

I love buying presents. We got our niece (just turned 2) a little oven. It has pots, pans, food, made noises..... Amazing!!!

Keep exercise is great isn't it. I hadnt realised how much is missed it. As my SILs sister is a PT there, she has drawn me up a pregnancy plan, and they will evaluate every 4 weeks. They also have a pre and post natal specialist there, so I'm well away!!!

Yesterday's scan really brought it home. To see a dancing baby is just amazing. Feels much more real now. In other news, in addicted to oranges.

cartoontrickster · 30/08/2013 10:21

keep your DVDs do sound good! I've been looking around at excercise DVDs but its hard to know which are any good and its been a little while since I've done proper excercise.
not too nervous for my scan just yet but its in the afternoon so I'm sure I'll spend all morning in a state!
me and dh have been Window shopping car seats at the moment.

OP posts:
NoMaybeAboutIt · 30/08/2013 11:03

Not long now Trix!!! What car seat you going for?

cartoontrickster · 30/08/2013 11:09

possibly a maxi cosi pebble. I think we're maybe slightly restricted as we want a base but the car doesn't have isofix. so we need one of those easy base(?) things. we need to have some one talk us through them I think. I also worry as dh is tall and his seat is virtually touching the back seat so is there enough room behind him for the car seat. don't they stick out a bit?

OP posts:
ThedementedPenguin · 30/08/2013 11:12

trix they do stick out quite a bit. With ds' first seat we had to have passenger seat the whole way forward just so it would fit.

cartoontrickster · 30/08/2013 11:22

Shit really! it'll be so much easier for me to turn round and check on baby if its behind dh. guess ill have to travel in the back with me behind dh and possibly chop my legs off! Grin

OP posts:
ThedementedPenguin · 30/08/2013 11:51

Is there anywhere you could go and they could fit it in your car so you can see how it would be?

cartoontrickster · 30/08/2013 11:52

I think we're going to plan a trip to kiddicare at some point, not for a bit though. dh wants to put it off then go shopping for everything in December.

OP posts:
ThedementedPenguin · 30/08/2013 12:17

Oh I should also add I have quite a small car so that's probably a big factor in it.

That's not a bad idea, although maybe best to go early December.

I hate my pram. We got the icandy pear and just use it as a single for now but it doesn't fold that well. The wheels at the front stop it so I want a new one. I might stop using it and sell it on. Haven't decided yet.

cartoontrickster · 30/08/2013 12:36

I know! I'm going to try and persuade him to go a bit sooner than Dec.
I think I'm best trying a few seats in the car too see. they let you do that, right?
I thought icandy were ment to be really good. not a brand I've been particularly looking at though.

OP posts:
NoMaybeAboutIt · 30/08/2013 12:52

The Icandy peach folds like a dream, so easy, especially when I'm on my own with my own pathetic strength

I think you should have an earlier trip Trix. A few other things may have to accidentally fall in the trolley.....Wink

SweetieTime · 30/08/2013 13:01

Pen when my niece and nephew were small they loved the helium balloons on strings. Caused hours of fun for very little £. The selection toys now really baffles me, there is just so much.

Keep I am still proper head in the sand about the whole labour thing. I do not want to face up to it at all. I am going to ask for an ELCS at my next consultant appointment and every other appointment I have going forward We have our TAMBA Practical Parenting session on Monday evening so I am not sure if they will cover the actual birth bit. I know they are supposed to cover what to expected/get out of the last few medical appointments. So will see. You are very brave reading up on it already.

Maybe I have a craving for grapes, but only purple ones. At least we are getting healthy cravings.

Trix we went to Kiddicare and they came out to our car with different seats and bases to show how they fit in the car. We went for the Maxi Cosy Pebble too. I would say get there early as it was really busy in the store we went to. Also I wouldn't leave it until Dec when Christmas shopping season has started. We ordered the seats and bases to be delivered to our house a couple of days later. The staff at our Kiddicare were really helpful.

I have felt pretty bleugh today. I have been back to bed and just got up again. I am not sure if twins are having a growth spurt and sapping all my energy but going by the speed my bump has grown this week that could be it. I have also arrange a house warming party for tomorrow evening. I am starting to regret it already. I had to make it from 7pm onwards, as I have an appointment in the afternoon so won't be home until 6.30, and my friends aren't the sort to only stay a couple of hours. I will be lucky if they leave before mid night and it will probably be later. Why do we do this sort of thing to ourselves????

cartoontrickster · 30/08/2013 13:12

absolutly maybe Grin hehe I'm sure I'll find all manor of treasures that I need.
hopefully I can talk him into stopping off in mothercare on our way home from the scan on Monday.

OP posts:
ThedementedPenguin · 30/08/2013 13:18

My apple folder really easily. But the pear has massive wheels on the front and it pisses me off. Dp says I'm being stupid but as I'm the one who uses it the most I think I should get final say. If I can't manage it myself now what am I going to be like when I have a bump or trying to put two into the car.

Think I'm going to hold out and research prams for a while. Maybe try a few out and set up a payment plan thing.

sweetie I totally agree all the toys confuse me at times. I know a couple of his presents so far and they are quite big so I'm not keen on anymore big toys. Will have a look out.

Oh sweetie I hope your friends don't stay too long. Also really hope you feel better tomorrow.

ThedementedPenguin · 30/08/2013 13:19

trix I think you need to stop. Just tell him you want to have a look. then buy loads Grin

SweetieTime · 30/08/2013 13:22

Trix tell him you need to use the loo and the nearest is in Mothercare

keepitgoing · 30/08/2013 14:53

sweetie I'm pretty sure I'd go for an elcs if I had twins. I think they'll schedule it between 37 and 38 weeks, but of course you might go into labour before then.

trix we are going for the pebble too as it clicks onto the bugaboo pushchair we are being given. I'm not sure if we should get the car base or just use seatbelts. I am pretty clueless. maybe amazed you're looking at it all already!

I've just made a banana cake, tis in the oven. Mmm

cartoontrickster · 30/08/2013 15:00

Oooo you lot are devious! hopefully he'll be in a good mood having just seen our little treats so I won't have to trick him.
keep I feel safer knowing we'd have a base that it just clicks in and out of, less chance of me doing it wrong!
dh just told one of ladies at work that I'm pregnant, I really thought we were getting some where for a min then he turns round and says he wishes he hadn't Confused. oh well!

OP posts:
NoMaybeAboutIt · 30/08/2013 15:10

Oh Sweetie you poor thing. How many people have you got coming? I hope you start to feel a but better so you can enjoy the party x

Trix I'm loving Sweeties plan!!

That's a pain Pen

NoMaybeAboutIt · 30/08/2013 15:13

What can I say Keep, we are just really excited Grin. Our local shop said we should order the pram after our 12 week scan as the Icandy lead times are crazy long. We ummd and aahd wondering if we should even look now, but it's my going to affect anything.

Your poor DH Trix Sad

Munxx · 30/08/2013 15:15

Hello chatty ladies!

Pen I have bought nothing so far, we have most if the things he would need due to having DD first! But for her first birthday she got a rocking ladybird from Mamas an papas and clothes. I can recommend the bouncing zebra though although I wouldn't have it as its too noisy! Dd loves her friends though. Or a toddlebike. But they do love the wrapping paper the best!

Car seats wise we just use the seatbelt. Have a maxi cosi cabriofix. But I use my buggy all the time so I think if ku are driving everyday a base would make things much easier

Bepanthen all the way here! Or conotrane.

Hope you lovely pregnant brookers are doing well.

Munxx · 30/08/2013 15:16

maybe I think the icandy prams are lovely!

Hope party goes well sweetie
