brilliant news bunnygoesbang and I love your name Grin

it is a massive shock isn't it. You can't believe in it.

ChocChaffinch · 03/08/2013 21:10

cookie I'm 5+2 today too Grin new week on every Thursday

ChocChaffinch · 03/08/2013 21:13

ninunina I have 2dc but I've totally forgotten loads of the pregnancy info! unsure of everything haha. I had 2 wildly different births, 1 normal 1 CS, so have a lot of experience to draw on, but every pregnancy / baby is different so it's back to the beginning for me Smile

Pineapplefreak · 03/08/2013 22:31

Hi all, another BFP'er!

Due 4th April by my reckoning. Still in shock though, DS took 7 months to conceive and this was our first month trying. Keep checkin for AF too, but then I feel sick and totally devoid of all energy and think no I def am pregnant!

Lay on sofa from 2 o'clock today, DH has been great!

BartBaby · 04/08/2013 10:23

Welcome pineapple congrats on your bfp.

How are we all doing today? 4+5 for me and not feeling too bad. Cant help shake the feeling though that something bad could still happen as its still such early days. Couldnt resist looking at prams and carseats and all those things though the past couple of days! Grin

Ive just been looking aswell that lots of is here will be due at the beginning of the easter holidays. Ds finishes the 4th and im due the 8th. Not sure how i feel about this yet Hmm will be nice having dh off on leave over the holls to help me look after 2 kids and we can al spend some nice time together, but also if i go over it will likely be quite hard trying to entertain a 4.5yo while being about to drop, it will also require him being looked after by relatives for longer, but then again we will have a while to get settled into a new routine before having to get him to school on time. has anyone with kids have any thoughts on it?

This is all based on baby coming on time, which night not even happen, but my mind is just going into planning mode with everything!

Vikkijayne2507 · 04/08/2013 11:04

I'm a crazy planning lady Bart baby and I've been thinking about practicalities of my step son being with us during holidays when about to drop. I am 4 wks 6 today 5 weeks tomorrow. I do have random waves of nausea and boobs continue to hurt. I still check underwear everytime I go to loo just in case

lowra · 04/08/2013 11:16

Can I join please? I got my bfp but I got one last month too then suffered an early mc. Fingers crossed this one sticks.

Congratulations and good luck everyone x

Fairypants · 04/08/2013 11:23

I may be a veteran ninunina but you could also say geriatric! My dd's are 10 and nearly 15 so what little I can remember is probably out of date.
We told them last night so already the school holidays have been discussed. The question is whether we would give them a day off school to attend the birth if it isn't in the holidaysConfused
We started looking at prams when we started ttc so stupidly ahead of time Grin

BartBaby · 04/08/2013 12:33

Ha ha yes fairy i have known the pram i want for months now. That was just secret looking online. I can do it in the open now Grin although i was thinking that by the time i got upduffed and it was due then the prices may have come down a bit Hmm

My ds is too young to be at the birth so i suppose its probably easier if he is at my aunties. And she lives nowhere near his school so wouldnt be able to pick him up of drop him off.

Ninunina · 04/08/2013 12:57

Lol! I don't need to be pregnant to have a sneaky look at prams. It's one of my favorite pass times when internet surfing (sad I know). DD will be 2y4m in April so I'm thinking I probably won't have to buy a double buggy. I've got a travel system that's still perfect and a lightweight that DD loves so I think I'll make do with that, though a double will come in handy for long walks and travelling. i'll see when closer to date.

EverthingcrossedforApril14 · 04/08/2013 13:08

Hi everyone congrats on BFP's and hope you all have sticky beans. I was looking for some advice. I DTD on the 14th of July, I was using the CBFM and it showed High fertility but not ovulation symbol. My husband was away for a week so I must have conceived within 72 hours of the 14th of July. The CBFM continued to show HF but no egg symbol, after day nine of HF I had no more test sticks. I started to have the usual symptoms sore boobs, cramps etc about 19th or 20th of July. I convinced myself that I was pregnant. I did a CB test on 28th of July (mid day) it was negative. I did a cheap test on the Monday morning and got a faint second line. Very excited! Did another test on the Thursday 1st of August, it was stronger but maybe not as strong as I was hoping for. I also did a CB digital test on the Thurs and it said 1-2 weeks pregnant. I noticed another poster ovulated after me and is already having results that say 2-3 weeks with the CB digital. I did another test this morning CB (not digital) and as soon as I did the test the cross started to appear so I was hopefully that it was going to be a strong positive. However, the control line did not develop within in 10 mins. When went to look at it much later the control line was present but the cross had not developed any further. It has a strong line along the middle and a top part to the cross but only a very faint line at the bottom. Not sure this is all looking to positive, any ideas anyone. I have two DC, I had no problems conceiving them. I am very lucky to have my two DC but I still would be very sad if this bean does not work out. It is amazing how quickly you get attached! I was concerned that it might mean a mc (very early one) or ectopic?

Any advice would be much appreciated

Trinpy · 04/08/2013 15:08

hi Everything. Congratulations on the bfp. If youre worried maybe you should ask your gp tomorrow if your hcg levels can be checked over 2 days to see if they are doubling? I wouldn't worry too much about the cb digi -.sometimes they can be misleading.

kelli10 · 04/08/2013 17:13

Hi all, just wanted to say a big congratulations to you all. Just found out my best friend is expecting her 1st baby on April 1st! At last I will be able to hit the park at stupid o'clock in the morning with an adult for company :D

Good luck all!!

Definitelysometime · 04/08/2013 17:44

Hi everything. Congrats on the BFP!

Have you checked the instructions with your test? I may be wrong but that sounds like the CB test I used - the horizontal line was the one indicating pregnancy so if that's really strong it's a good sign. Double check - and may be worth re-testing if the control line didn't work. But it sounds like another BFP to me.

I'm 6 weeks today and still no symptoms as such, though I've just woken up from a delicious hour long nap Hmm

bunnygoesbang · 04/08/2013 20:18

Hello all. I feel like the odd one out already I have been throwing up since before I was due and frankly feel awful. This is a miracle baby and I am so happy but so bloody unwell. I can't sleep as my boobs hurt, I'm sick through the night and have a poorly tummy everyday. I already have an older child but this time I feel shocking. Gp has give me a prescription for pills to stop the sickness but I won't take them as they aren't safe during pregnancy. Sorry for the moan I just feel so unwell

ChocChaffinch · 04/08/2013 20:35

there are anti-emetics out there that are safe during pregnancy - bunny could you go back and ask doc? HG is no joke,. I had some great ones last time

Definitelysometime · 04/08/2013 20:36

Oh so sorry to hear you're feeling rubbish bunny. How horrible. Is there anything you can have that is safe in pregnancy? Are you managing to go to work?

I can't give any advice but just really hope you feel much much better soon.

BartBaby · 04/08/2013 20:42

bunny i was like that with ds. Tonic water worked best for me. Tastes a bit nasty but settled my tummy more than anything else. Also got my auntie to make me propper home made ginger cakes which helped a bit. I refused the tablets aswell. Hope you feel better soon Flowers

Welcome newbies Smile and congrats.

everything the clearblues can get the date wrong sometimes so i wouldnt worry too much. Maybe keep retesting just to check and see a gp if you still arent happy (ive done a few cheapy tests this week just as a bit of extra reassurance)

Ninunina · 04/08/2013 21:17

Sorry you're feeling so terrible bunny. Hopefully you won't be suffering for too long, but maybe visit your doctor again if things remain so grim since it is important you don't get too dehydrated.

I was throwing up for the 1st 20 weeks in my last pregnancy so I know how awful it can feel. Till now I am feeling almost constant waves of nausea but only felt sick once (4+1 weeks). Hopefully it's a sign that I won't feel so bad (and not a sign of a doomed pregnancy).

Everything, have you been using FMU? I wouldn't worry too much about the CB digital, they are not always reliable. Maybe getting your blood tested to make sure hCG levels are doubling might give you some reassurance.

bunnygoesbang · 04/08/2013 21:20

Thanks for the support. There are no medications that are 100% safe. I'm just not willing to take the risk but this could change lol. I hate ginger also lol it makes me sick. I am doing all the right things I have cereal bars next to my bed so I wake eat one and sit for a bit. I also have them and lightly salted rice cakes on my desk. I am still working my colleagues know due to me constantly being in the loo lol.
I am trying to see the funny side of it. I have just managed a bag of stem veg so will see how that settles. I am drinking loads and can keep some things down.

I've also been told the digital dating tests are not very accurate so I avoided them

ChocChaffinch · 04/08/2013 22:01

there are no meds 100% safe
but meds are safer than dehydration, look after yourselves pukers, drink lots fluids. If you can't keep water down see your doctor/ call midwife and get them to do a ketones test

cookielove · 04/08/2013 22:18

Managed to get away for our weekend! Yay.

We have managed to book a hotel that is a black hole for phone signal but it does have wifi!!

I haven't been sick yet, but my appetite has shrunk and I often feel sick after eating! !

ChocChaffinch · 04/08/2013 22:28

you're starving, but then can only manage 1/2 a dinner before feeling uncomfortably bloated!!

ChocChaffinch · 04/08/2013 22:29

dh asks how the hell a sesame seed can cause this much disruption Grin
I screamed HORMONES MOTHERF***
he backed right down

Ninunina · 05/08/2013 06:40

Just had another nightmare that I wasn't pregnant anymore so I got up to do a test and it was very reassuring. The test line came up straight away and is almost as dark as the control line. It's amazing what a difference 3 days makes. Oh boy. .. do you think it's twins? I'm 4+2 Grin
