Thank you! The odds are the same issues won't happen again (my son has a rare and most likely non inherited genetic condition) and we will indeed get lots of medical support this time.

I'd forgotten how intense emotionally pregnancy is (at least for me!). I just keep getting swept away by my emotions.

I hope you're feeling well

ChocChaffinch · 02/08/2013 14:57

I'm ok thanks. Just get v hot and sticky unreasonably quickly Grin

Vikkijayne2507 · 02/08/2013 16:24

teehee joke made me giggle. ive been very dizzy today and bit nauseous. af not found me I still can't believe it and am convinced it will all be fake when i wake up. its my first ever time and it all seems unreal and overwhelming. is it just me. me and oh arnt telling anyone for a while tho a friend guessed wgeb I refused wine as I never refuse usually. it feels a bit lonely

ChocChaffinch · 02/08/2013 18:08

great 'excuses' for not drinking

sorry can't as I'm on antibiotics for a skin/foof/infected foot thing (depends how adventurous you're feeling & also how nosy your friend is..)
be the 'driver'
drink tonic water - looks like gin

for not lifting

Ive got a bad back - requires some extra acting
strained my shoulder - ditto

it does feel weird that no one knows; but we have each other!

Ninunina · 02/08/2013 20:19

I haven't been so discreet about this pg! My family knows already, but not planning on telling anyone else til my 1st scan, then I'll only tell close friends. I reason out that I'd only tell someone that I'd want support from if I did have a mc.
With regards to drinking and carrying...it's going to be a tricky one but I think I'll take the glass of wine and just not drink it. I doubt anyone will notice.
Not carrying is going to be impossible with DD, but I already have a bad back, so I can use that excuse to limit carrying very heavy things.

SauceyD · 02/08/2013 22:20

Hi ladies,

Can I join please...4+6 today, first timer, due 5th April! Just tested this afternoon so feeling excited and nervous! Been lurking in the ttc forums for 18 months (so picked up the lingo!) but never dared post, now so desperate to tell someone (other than dh) so decided to join you all!

Trinpy did I see you have a fertility clinic appt? We also have one booked and don't want to tempt fate by cancelling too soon!

Wishing you all healthy pregnancies with minimal vomiting!
S

Trinpy · 02/08/2013 22:27

Hi Saucey and congratulations on the bfp. Yeah that's right, my appointment is the week after next. We cancelled the last one a week before and I ended up mc the next day Angry so dh is insisting we keep this one, just in case. When's yours?

Ninunina · 03/08/2013 05:36

Welcome Saucy, congratulations on your bfp. You must be over the moon to have conceived just before your fertility appointment. FX that it will be a wasted appointment Wink
I'm finding myself sleeping a lot earlier than usual, but waking up a lot earlier too (so not actually getting more sleep). I woke up full of good intentions this morning and want to head down to a gym (not currently a member)... is this a good idea? I'd love to do some pilates classes.. is it ok to go to a beginners class (not a prenatal one though?). I'm used to going to an occasional class, though I haven't been to many since dd was born.

SauceyD · 03/08/2013 06:50

Thanks guys, and congratulations to you too! The appointment's not til Sept so I will cancel it, just not quite yet - if we don't need it hopefully someone else can have it but also I read somewhere about the nurses in clinic being really rude to a girl who went to the appt even though she was pg and I don't want to get told off!

Trinpy how crazy you waited all that time then get 2 bfps so quickly, sorry to hear about the mc, I'm sure they'll think its fair enough if u keep your fertility appt. We've waited so long for this I've convinced myself its is going to end in mc, or since I have a bit of random pain in my right side that it will be an ectopic...

Booked in to the gp for tues which I'm sure is too soon but just to be safe!

SauceyD · 03/08/2013 06:56

Ninunia I have no idea if plates is a good idea...although I have a feeling if you tell the instructor they might tell u not to do it just to cover themselves...

I have a hen do and 2 weddings in the next 3 weeks, don't want people to know til 12 wks if possible (same as u re mc) but I think some friends mightmi guess (i'm not usually known for my abstinence!). I think taking wine and not drinking / pouring into nearby plants / getting dh to subtly drink it is a good idea!

SauceyD · 03/08/2013 06:58

Oops sorry Ninunina and I meant pilates, not plates - autocorrect!

LeeHandy · 03/08/2013 06:59

ninunina I am waking up really early too but I don't sleep well at all because I keep having bad dreams about things going wrong.
I have been reading threads about my potential hospitals and one seems soooo bad. I was almost in tears after reading the horror stories people have had there.
I am planning on getting an early scan privately. Can I get one after 7 weeks or do I have to wait a bit longer?
Welcome all the new bfps! Grin

SauceyD · 03/08/2013 07:12

I think if u pay they'll do a scan at 7 wk but I read that risk of mc comes right down after 8 (still a risk but not the 1/7 or is it 1/5 earlier on) so if u can bear to wait maybe more reassuring at 8? Trying to persuade dh that's what we should do but he says too expensive Sad

pinkpeoniesplease · 03/08/2013 07:44

Another early riser now I'm pg! 5.15am without fail every morning Confused

Lee-I've got a scan at 7 weeks, the woman I spoke to advised you can see a heartbeat in theory from 6 1/2 weeks but I'm going at 7+2 just to be sure! I think if you see a heartbeat at 8 weeks it's a really low percentage that go on to miscarry. A heartbeat at
12 weeks means a 1% chance.

I so want a scan!! In Canada they do a dating scan at 6-7 weeks I so want that! !

LeeHandy · 03/08/2013 09:40

After tossing about for a bit, I was able to go back to sleep! I love Saturday mornings! Grin
I didn't know that about the 7 vs 8 weeks, thank you ladies.
I can't do 8 weeks because we are supposed to move house. But 9 weeks will be even better than 8 I suppose, so I will just wait for that. Smile

Trinpy · 03/08/2013 11:14

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who's been having nightmares about something going wrong! Every single night I dream that I've started bleeding, then I have to work out the kindest way to tell dh. I woke up in a panic yesterday thinking it was real! Can't wait to have an early scan so I can relax --and stop
googling miscarriage statistics--

Vikkijayne2507 · 03/08/2013 13:01

im the same girls every day expecting blood always feel surprised whev not

cookielove · 03/08/2013 13:39

I so want a scan!! In Canada they do a dating scan at 6-7 weeks I so want that! !

Dh is ill and we are going away tomorrow but hopefully he'll get almost better. I think its one of the those 24 hour sickness bugs. Fx anyway.

Ok I am officially addicted. Poas again today this time a blue cross one. Really strong line Grin I am 5+2 today.

cookielove · 03/08/2013 13:41

Yes yes. Every time I pee I check for blood. I am sure once I get to 12 weeks I won't be so worried about it. Although I don't feel worried all day just check myself whenever I go to the loo. Blush

Fairypants · 03/08/2013 14:20

Hi there, may I join you?
I've just got my definite positive today (a slightly dubious one yesterday) so I'm in shock a bitShock
I calculate I'm due on 14th April and not yet even 4weeks so have a lot of waiting to do.
Re the Pilates question- if you go to a good class (not usually sports centres) they should only have 6-8 ppl so take into account circumstances so will say 'do x -except ... you can do y' and its really common where ppl have back probs etc so no would think anything if it. I've been going to a class in preparation of getting pregnant as I had bad SPD with my first 2.

Ninunina · 03/08/2013 15:45

Welcome Fairy & congratulations! You're a real veteran with 2 kids already. I bet you'll have every answer in the book :)
I ended up going to farmers market instead of a Pilates class, but I will certainly look into finding a good instructor that also does prenatal classes so hopefully I'll be able to "graduate" to that in my second trimester.
I still feel healthy though because I came back with the most wonderful peaches, figs & melon I've ever tasted. I'm hoping I won't go off my fruit and veg this time. Last time I only wanted carbs, but so far I've felt like lots of salads and fruit. It might have something to do with the 35 degree weather though.

bunnygoesbang · 03/08/2013 21:07

Hello I've come to join very cautiously as its so soon and still not accepting its actually happened as we were told ivf was our only option. Due date = April 7th and I can't stop being sick already

ChocChaffinch · 03/08/2013 21:08

congrats fairypants !

urgh forgot about SPD. just had a weird sciatic twinge in the bath.

bunnygoesbang · 03/08/2013 21:09

Also wanted to add I am an early riser as well now this nighttime pee trips are doing my head in lol. I have an early Scan booked at 6.5 weeks
