Ha ha ninu when i did a test a couple of days a go at 4+3 it came up straight away and was really dark. I hole its not twins! Hmm its mad how we can go from thinking everything has gone wrong and there isnt one in there anymore, to then thinking there's 2!

Ninunina · 05/08/2013 07:23

I guess we're still a bit nutty Bart. My friend is 16 weeks pregnant with twins and she said she still had a faint positive initially (though she wasn't using very sensitive tests). She had no suspicion it was twins until her first scan at 7 weeks. I say I'd love to have twins, but I know what hard work they can be (especially with a toddler).

BartBaby · 05/08/2013 07:30

Yes and it might be 2 boys, i dont think i could cope with 2 boys, ds and dh aswell!!

Pinkpiglet · 05/08/2013 07:57

Hi all,
Can I join in?
I got my BFP last week but its taken a while to settle in! From my calculations I'm 7wks today and due on the 1st April. This is my second as dd is 16 months.
I find I've been exhausted since finding out and wonder how I'm going to manage with 2!

Ninunina · 05/08/2013 08:14

Welcome pinkpiglet! I'm already jealous of you being 7 weeks. .. not long to go before your 12 week scan Smile
bart lol at the idea of a house full of boys. I can assure you that my dd is still a handful and a half... in fact she seems to boss all the boys around at the playground.

LeeHandy · 05/08/2013 09:46

Good to know everyone is doing reasonably well.
I have not been sick yet but my stomach is kind of upset. I'm wondering if it is pregnancy related or too much curry. Hmm
It's the third or fourth night in a row that I've woken up around 2 am and stayed awake for a couple of hours. If this continues, I am going to be a wreck soon.

Pinkpiglet · 05/08/2013 09:48

Whoops, I got that wrong, I'm only 6 weeks! My poor brain is useless at the mo.
Thanks for the welcome Ninunina

LeeHandy · 05/08/2013 09:54

congrats pinkpiglet! I am only 6+2 and due on March 29th so if you are 7 weeks along, you may be due earlier, I think? I'm not quite sure how these things are calculated.

Ninunina · 05/08/2013 10:17

Grin well. ..I would still rather be 6 weeks than 4. I just called my consultant and he's booked me in for a scan at 6+2! I'm thinking it's a bit early so might change it to 7 weeks to make sure I see a hb.

Trinpy · 05/08/2013 10:58

congrats pinkpiglet!

and how exciting to have your first scan booked already ninaunina.

I've sadly had to stop poa internet cheapies s. The test line definitely isn't getting any darker than it was at 4+4. I have my last cb digital to look forward to in the morning, so I can see the change to 3+, then I'm done. God knows how I'm going to cope until my scan Shock .

I can't wait until we all have our first scans and we can see who's having twins or more

birdbrain21 · 05/08/2013 11:11

Hi ladies I'm an April 2013er I thought I'd pop in and say congratulations and good luck to you all (noticed a few of my thread mates have already popped in Wink). can't believe that this time last year I was symptom spotting like you all are and worrying about everything, the year has gone so quickly and I know have a gorgeous pfb dd who's 4 months old tomorrow!!!!!
Best of luck to you all! Despite being so tired and busy the whole time with my dd in a strange way I'm slightly jealous of you all Hmm!
By the way it's a great time of year to be getting a bfp because you won't have to suffer the heat of summer being 9 months pg but it won't be too cold to take you newborn out either....
aaaaah I'm so excited for you all Grin enjoy it all x

ChocChaffinch · 05/08/2013 11:33

just been to asda, full of highs and lows Grin

Retched at the bakery as the stench of hot baking pastry hit my nose; but also spotted some amazing peanut butter granola bars, in a green box near the cereal bars; they are frickin' delicious. Nibbly too, so may be a great weapon against puking.
Im finding it's better to eat little and often; brekkie, brunch, lunch, pm lunch, dinner and supper Grin

ChocChaffinch · 05/08/2013 11:35

congrats pinkpiglet and hullo birdbrain how nice 4mth olds are so gorgeous X good to hear happy endings

I keep mentally planning ahead; and then stopping myself and thinking IF everything's OK..... it's a funny kind of limbo pre-12 weeks

Vikkijayne2507 · 05/08/2013 12:11

congratst piglet im 5 weeks today. It's handy having my new week on a Monday

DaisyLondon · 05/08/2013 16:37

Hi all! Congrats to all the BFPS Smile

Really looking forward to my early scan at 7 weeks currently 5 + 1 - feeling so impatient. Abdominal twinges have mostly eased and haven't any morning sickness yet. Some acne along jawline and chin + frequent pee-ing continues; tiredness and irritability also kicks in by the afternoon.

My allergies have really flared up this last week and I'm now sneezing when I enter my house and meet my cats. My asthma has also been acting up.... I spoke to the GP and they said I am fine to use my inhaler so doing that. Hope the sneezing and asthma flare ups pass soon.

No news from hospital or midwife or GP re my booking in appointment yet. Will give them till the end of this week before giving em another nudge.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Fairypants · 05/08/2013 17:07

[grin]@chocs DH!
Congratulations new BFPers!
Bunny- if you can't handle ginger, both peppermint and lemon can be useful alternatives. My best cure for short term was to suck really hard on a mint (polo or similar). It would even stop the moving car puking.
So far I haven't been sick this time (4 weeks today, I also like the Monday new week thing). But feel like I have a slight hangover every morning which is some sick joke Mother Nature!

LeeHandy · 05/08/2013 18:52

So who's having their scan first?! This is so exciting. Grin

Definitelysometime · 05/08/2013 19:18

I'm booked in for private early scan on sat 17th. Will be 7+6 according to LMP but I think probably a little less than that. No idea when I ovulated. So scared and excited - less than 2 weeks till hopefully seeing a little heartbeat!

Feeling a little sick today for the first time, at 6 weeks. I feel a bit like i'm hungover - I'm only happy when I'm eating. And eating something unhealthy at that Blush

BartBaby · 05/08/2013 19:33

I wish i was having an early scan. I can only find private ones for around £100 near me though which is quite a lot. I will need to wait my 7+ weeks for it. Seems so far away! They do a gender scan at 18 weeks though for £39 so may get that if its earlier than my nhs scan Smile

pinkpeoniesplease · 05/08/2013 19:53

I have an early scan on the 14th, I'll be 7+2. I'm excited but so worried. I had a dream that I went and they told me the baby wouldn't survive Sad
I'm so worried! I'm 6 weeks today and no symptoms...

OP posts:
Definitelysometime · 05/08/2013 20:28

Eeeee, think you're first peonies! Do you know whether its an internal or external scan at 7/8 weeks? Will there definitely be a heartbeat at that stage, all being well?

Has everyone started to tell family or friends yet? I haven't yet, till after early scan. Any ideas for fun ways of telling first time grandparents / aunties / uncles?

pinkpeoniesplease · 05/08/2013 20:43

I was told the heartbeat should be visible from around 6 1/2 weeks and to go with a full bladder and they'll try a normal ultrasound, if that doesn't work you empty your bladder and they do it internally. I'm soooo hoping that isn't required!!

We haven't told anybody yet! I'm quite enjoying nobody knowing Grin Once the in-laws know they'll be calling all the time so I'm enjoying the calm before the storm Wink
It does feel a bit deceptive spending time with people and not telling though!

Welcome and congrats to the new BPFers!
Thanks guys for the advice. My husband has banned me from purchasing anymore tests so I went to boots on the way to work, ended up buying lots of different tests. I went to M & S to do the test(s). The bloody cleaner was cleaning the toilets and I was in for about 20 minutes then emerged with all these bits of packaging and tests falling all over the show, she had to help me lift all the rubbish up. On the positive side got two positive results and the CB digital said 2-3 weeks so it appears bean is growing! This is going to be the longest pregnancy in the history of the world and the most expensive at the rate I am going!

Ninunina- am not up on the lingo so am not sure what a FMU is? am guessing it is fertility monitoring unit? If so, yes I was using one of those but it only gave me 9 days of HF and no Ovulation symbol.

Thanks again for all the advice it is good to have some people to talk to, my DH is great but he just assumes that everything will work out. I have some close friends that I would have told early on when I was pregnant with DD and DS but they have all recently had MC's so am keeping it to myself at the moment

Vikkijayne2507 · 05/08/2013 22:22

FMU is first morning urine btw everything. I haven't even got to my gp yet as I'm abroad until next Sunday, and have worked straight away ill be almost 7 weeks by the time I even get to telling my gp let alone any scans or anything. I may try and ring them during this week and ask what's best in terms or appointments and when they would want to see me. For fun I did an opk today as I still had 2 in my bag but not pg tests. Funny thing the test line immediately when very dark very quickly and was much darker than the test line. So I'm taking that as a good thing. Also in terms of pregnancy symptoms I've found one that is very strong but I didn't think about it at the time. It's my nails. I'm 5 weeks today but last week my nails (I'm a big biter so are never long for long) were suddenly really long I'm the queen of bitten nails and I wondered if it was to do with or hormones I didn't think so but after googling it it appears hair and nails grow faster. I'm a little concerned I seem to be having a intense hormone surge and I read this could potentially mean more than 1 baby. Probably bs (scuse the language) but could it be possible.
