ChocChaffinch · 30/07/2013 21:30

is amazing what happens in 1st weeks

ChocChaffinch · 30/07/2013 21:33

does anyone have Twins in their families Grin Shock Not us.

Ninunina · 30/07/2013 21:39

No twins in my direct family, but my friend is 4 months pg with fraternal twins and she had no twins in the family. My other friend has identical twin girls with no family history of twins either. I wouldn't mind twins Grin

nataaaaliee · 30/07/2013 21:42

Hi everyone :) mind if i join in?

Just found out a few days ago im having baby number 1 :o shocked and exited but so so nervous at the same time!
My EDD is April 4th :D

ChocChaffinch · 30/07/2013 21:52

yay Natalieeee!!

congratulations new BFP-ers.

isn't it weird having massive secret knowledge!! life changing and family changing! it's going to be our 3rd so we're keeping it to ourselves as long as humanely possible. But I have a ''suspicious'' family Grin so who knows.

ChocChaffinch · 30/07/2013 21:56

I was just googling chances of twins...

about 1/350 to 400 identical twin chance and family genetics mean nothing, all women have an equal chance
but raised for 35++yrs old as more FSH as fertility wanes
and higher chance in taller women!

pinkpeoniesplease · 30/07/2013 21:58

Cookie-I don't have private insurance anymore so will pay for it as normal. If you google private early scans I think some websites mention that they take private patients? Not sure on the details though.

Choc- my grandmother was one of 14- all twins and triplets!! There have been none since so hopefully it's my turn Smile Although as I have no symptoms it's probably unlikely as I heard they're more severe with twins?

OP posts:
ChocChaffinch · 30/07/2013 22:00

nope more symptoms is a myth with twins Grin
some women are pukers, some aren't, still could be twins....or triplets!!!

holy cow imagine 3!

ThedementedPenguin · 30/07/2013 22:28

Ninunina I went to Malta on holiday. I loved it. Keep talking about going back but haven't made it yet.

ChocChaffinch · 30/07/2013 22:36

more googling tells me

babies born betwixt march 21 and April 20 will be Aries Grin

DizzyCow63 · 30/07/2013 22:40

Hi everyone, can I join you all too? Am 4+4 with DC2, so due 4.4.14.

Was a bit of a surprise, we weren't TTC, after taking 4 years to TTC DS1 (who is an April 11) baby, I hadn't expected to have anymore DC, one night we were a bit less careful than usual and here we are! Amazed and delighted but still sinking in. Couldn't get a dr appt until 9.8.13.

We also have DSD who lives with us and is amazing with DS but she has said before she doesn't want any more siblings so not sure how that news will go down!

ChocChaffinch · 30/07/2013 22:43

ah congratulations dizzy cow. I'm sure DSD will be thrilled, after some time to get used to the idea and some reassurance!
lots of us due around 4/4

I was thinking is this the George effect Grin

DaisyLondon · 30/07/2013 23:07

Thank you Trinpy, LeeHandy, pinkpeonies, thedementedpenguin, ChocChaffinch, cookielondon - THANK YOU so much for such a warm welcome! Thanks

It's so hard keeping the news to ourselves -- bursting to tell our near and dear friends but worried it might be too early + still can't quite believe it's happened (sooo happy!!)

Symptoms have been few so far, but here's what I've noticed:

  • acne break out along jaw and chin since the last 2 weeks
  • mild crampy feeling in my abdomen
  • feel lightheaded if I stand up too quickly
  • sore boobs last week but ok now

We might book a private scan at 7-8 weeks to reassure ourselves that we are actually pregnant... it feels too good to be true Blush

Really glad to be able to share it with all of you lovely ladies here :)

DaisyLondon · 30/07/2013 23:29

ChocChaffinch -- I have just eaten tons of crackers with alioli!! That too post dinner at 11pm Shock... feel a bit sick now Hmm

pinkpeoniesplease · 31/07/2013 06:35

Wow Dizzy April will be busy for you then! Lots of birthdays Grin

Tell us the good and bad about April babies, maternity leave over the summer must be lovely!

LeeHandy · 31/07/2013 07:19

choc, I am 35 and very tall so will let you know how that works out. I think I would like the idea of twins... Grin

Ninunina · 31/07/2013 07:37

Anyone else feeling sick? I tested early cos I was feeling some nausea but today I'm feeling properly sick. .. just retched and threw up a bit in my mouth (yuck!). I'm only 12dpo! Surely its not meant to start already!
Welcome Daisy Congratulations on your happy accident Grin

cookielove · 31/07/2013 07:56

Morning all.

Thanks for the info pink will be good to see a perk with this private stuff.

April babies are the best, my feelings may be some what bias as I, my best friend, my mother and grandmother were al like born in that month. And of course this little one might be to Smile

BartBaby · 31/07/2013 08:15

I agree april will be a good month Smile im an april baby, aswell as my dad a dad in law. Also we just got married in april so will be due 4 days after our first anniversary. And ive just thought that i might be due on our nephews birthday?!

Definately a good month!

Yes ninu ive been feeling a bit sicky aswell. Also of my food a bit. Just dont fancy anything. Not even chocolate (and thats rare for me) only thing i really really want is a bbq wrap from Chiquito's!

Welcome to the newbies Smile hope everyone is feeling well

DaisyLondon · 31/07/2013 09:31

I am also an April baby and am told by mum that I was a sweet but naughty child... I remember being a difficult rebellious teenager, some may just call it dynamic, ha! My mom is thrilled that I'll get a taste of what it's like to have a fiery Arien baby Grin

We have booked a private 7 week scan to put our minds at ease. Can't wait, seems so far away.

Have a good day everyone and look forward to your updates Smile

Vikkijayne2507 · 31/07/2013 13:28

hi all got my bfp this morning. pregnancy number 1. I thought I might be during tge last week due to boobs really hurting in the evening and sore during day abd being tired. feels surreal but anything can happen so trying not to get too overboard yet

dramajustfollowsme · 31/07/2013 14:48

I may be joining you. I'm 5 days late but not had a positive test yet. I was the same with DD - only got a positive test at 10 weeks.
I have symptoms of being pregnant but might be nothing too. This not knowing is very frustrating.

Definitelysometime · 31/07/2013 19:12

Congrats Vikkyjayne and good luck drama - hope you get your BFP soon. Great to hear lovely things about April babies - hope I am a day or two late now Smile

cookielove · 31/07/2013 20:00

Hello all Smile

I had blood tests done, the nurse was lovely she tried 4 times before she managed to get anything out Blush i am sure i am immune to chicken pox but having this test done will give me the reassurance i need!!

OOOh looks like some more bfp's Smile

pinkpeoniesplease · 31/07/2013 20:14

Congrats to all the new BFP's!! Smile

I caved and did a CB digital which says 3+ weeks since conception, that sounds about right as I'm 5+2 today so that's put my mind at rest a bit Grin

Counting the days until my early scan now... Does the worrying ever end! Smile
