Lol, you can find a list at www.mumsnet.com/info/acronyms. Sorry, re-reading my last post I can see it was excessively acronymious Grin

Just booked an early private scan for Weds, when I'll be 7+1. Can't stand the fretting for another 6 weeks, and my poor husband needs a break from reassuring me! I have gone from elated (accurate digi test) to enraged and frustrated (difficulty finding scanning clinic) and then on to bricking it (after actually booking the scan) all in half an hour.

Morning trinpy - I'm stressing out that I'm not feeling sick, though have other (weirder) symptoms. I should feel lucky I'm not in poor chocchaffinch's situation!

Penguin - was going on a naice country house/cream tea day out, but it's due to rain all day, grr. You?

boldlittlebird · 17/08/2013 10:42

dirtyface, CB caused me a massive freakout two days ago when it put me at 2-3 when I was actually 4+. (you can see it a few pages back on this very thread Blush) I took it in the evening, and reading the packaging it actually says you must use first morning urine for accuracy in the time since conception result (as a few people here suggested as well!) When I did another one first thing this morning, it put me at 3+ within 10 seconds.

There's a massive range in healthy HCG levels: WTE book gives following 'normal' ranges:
3 weeks pregnant: 5-50mIU/l
4 weeks pregnant: 5 to 426
5 weeks pregnant: 19 to 7,340
6 weeks pregnant: 1,080 to 56,500.

So if you have HCG of 2,000 you could be in 2-3 or 3+ and either would be perfectly healthy!

Perhaps wait a few days and then repeat with FMU?

dirtyface · 17/08/2013 10:48

oh yes sorry i did see that bold

thank you, thats really helpful. will try and hold out till say middle of next week though

wow there is a massive range though isn't there?

awww how exciting re your early scan, hope the waiting isnt too awful x

I am now on the computer so easier to type. I meant that my boobs are super sensitive. OH actually did very well to change technique Blush he is a little bit distracted by the boobs and makes a beeline eek as im not naturally very small and they have got bigger and are really firm but also really sore all the time. We are having to try different positions already due him on top makes my stomach uncomfortable. Sorry for tmi but I wonder if anyone else is having these issues. Its not a massive problem and I guess im gunna have to get use to it. I am still getting nausea at certain foods and i dont like the smell of coffee. I am very bloated and only look normal first thing in the morning. I also am getting a bit concerned regarding anemia. I was told years ago I had mild anaemia as I am veggie but nothing serious. Im guessing now it might be getting worse as in the mornings I am really tired and feel like it all day. It may be a bit of both anemia and also normal pregnancy symptoms.

bunnygoesbang · 17/08/2013 11:41

Me and oh haven't dtd since the positive test eek
We have had fun sorry if tmi but not full on.
Oh was worried until the early scan and now I can't stop moaning and being sick lol.
Hoping tonight to give it a go.

I have a wedding in a few weeks and my dress is all sorted. Tried it on and it just fits Blush really fitted across my boobs and a had to buy a special bra as I am busty anyway and needed a strapless one. Now I am having a panic that it won't fit and I don't have the money to replace it either arghhhh

dirtyface · 17/08/2013 11:44

vicki am Envy at you and your dh even managing to DTD

dh and i havent even done it for 2 weeks :(

and have been so tired and stressed out since got my BFP i havent been arsed to even try Blush

Vikkijayne2507 · 17/08/2013 11:46

eek bunny i hope it fits still being busty does have disadvantages as well as advatages. I bought a new bra last week and hoping it will last me a couple of months surely the boobs cant just grow for 7 more months I think we would all look ridiculous with them sticking out on front eek hope it goes well bunny

Vikkijayne2507 · 17/08/2013 11:52

sorry to hear that dirty to be fair we were on holiday when I got bfp and were pretty chilled out and to sleep 11 hours a night so I think that helped. Now back at work I am a lot more stressed and tired and only managed once when I knew I wasnt due at work. I hope it gets better guys

coffeewineandchocolate · 17/08/2013 13:04

Vicki it's a good idea to carefully watch your diet in pregnancy re anaemia and being veggie. My friend struggled to keep her iron levels up despite multi vitamins, weird iron sachets and upping iron in her diet. In the end the only thing that worked was eating red meat twice a week. She hated it and had never even tasted beef before but it did work. By the end of the pregnancy she started to crave steak lol

runninggirl85 · 17/08/2013 13:11

bold just wondered how you knew the HCG level. I am desperate to find out how far along I am. Is there a home test which would tell me HCG level so I could then try and work it out?

Nessalina · 17/08/2013 13:19

Hey all,
I slept so badly last night, woke up with really bad stomach pain that properly panicked me, but think it was just digestion issues Blush My stomach is so confused! Planning a shopping trip for new bras and some more forgiving tops on Tuesday. Convinced DH that should be allowed to spend on joint credit card - it's hardly my fault I'm huge, he needs to take credit for 50%!!! Grin

bunnygoesbang · 17/08/2013 14:43

Nessalina of course he should fund half of it lol.

I have started to bleed again. Brown again and not sure what to do. When I called the early pregnancy unit last week they said they don't scan under 8 weeks. I only had my early scan on Thursday. What now just wait and see I guess

boldlittlebird · 17/08/2013 14:51

Hi runninggirl - I didn't know what my HCG levels were, just observing that the margins of healthy are massive and that whoever designed the CB test obviously made a judgement call on what amount 'meant' a woman was 2-3 or 3+ weeks. CB don't publish their sensitivity thresholds so impossible to know what '2-3' or '3+' actually means!
I'm not aware of any tests that actually give you a straightforward HCG level - anyone else?
If you have bloods taken at the doctor's, that will tell you what your HCG is on that day. People sometimes have blood drawn over a few days to check whether the levels are rising at a viable rate.
Sorry I can't be more help! Smile

It's a worrying stage, isn't it? I'm off to Debenham's to distract myself with clothes shopping Smile

boldlittlebird · 17/08/2013 14:55

oh and dirtyface, thanks and hope you manage to hold out for the few days before your next test! I am a terrible POAS-er Smile Distract yourself with something nice in the meantime!

BoobsTooBig · 17/08/2013 15:17

Vikki- I don't want to alam you but stomach cramps is a more concerning factor then period like cramps. Strong Stomach pains call your midwife. I Mc and the day before I did I had crippling stomach ache. And I read A LOT on MC's and that a classic symptom. I'm sure everything will be just fine. it needs to be corniche in order for concern.

Definitelysometime · 17/08/2013 15:36

Hi all. Had my scan this afternoon and saw little blob and its llovely heartbeat Grin. I really am pregnant!

I must say, s/he is a very odd shape! Measuring 13mm which puts me at 7+4, two days less than I thought. So due April Fool's Day Hmm

They gave us two little pics to take away (which I can't stop looking at) and even emailed me a sound clip of the heartbeat!

Happy happy

BoobsTooBig · 17/08/2013 16:27

Congratulations Definitely! How lovely for you. :)
Was that a privet scan or NHS?

Vikkijayne2507 · 17/08/2013 16:32

yay little heart beat. I haven't had stomach cramps anything like that, has generally been digestive issues and tummy feels better after trips to loo its no where near where period cramps are. I only meant if oh lays on me or puts his head on my tummy in affection it causes discomfort. im hoping that's fairly normal

leanne239 · 17/08/2013 16:35

ummm does anyone know if you can take medication, to stop diarrhea? I have had it on and off for 2 weeks, and am starting my new job tonight and am dreading frequent trips to the loo, may be a tad bit embarrassing Envy

Definitelysometime · 17/08/2013 16:52

It was a private scan. Ridiculously expensive but very reassuring. Now I'm happy to tell the family Smile

No advice on diarrhoea I'm afraid leanne, I'm completely the other way Blush

Hope it goes well in the new job tonight!

pinkpeoniesplease · 17/08/2013 17:31

Argh! More bleeding! It's only spotting but was planning on telling my Mum/siblings tomorrow now I'm doubting myself Hmm
Does anyone know how much I should be worrying? Saw heartbeat on Wednesday when I was 7+2?

OP posts:
middleclassdystopia · 17/08/2013 17:34

Pink I had bleeding with both my previous pregnancies, now 4 and 7!

Sometimes it was even fresh blood. I think once you've seen a heartbeat the odds of miscarriage decrease dramatically so try not to worry though I know it's hard.

BoobsTooBig · 17/08/2013 17:38

Oh Pink I would try not to panic (I know it's impossible) , but I would contact you early Birthing Centre and ask them to see you. Wishing you all the best.

BoobsTooBig · 17/08/2013 17:41

Sorry early pregnancy unit lol getting confused with all the places

pinkpeoniesplease · 17/08/2013 18:03

Thanks. I can't self refer where I am unfortunately.
