I would go gp and ask them on regards to spotting

bunnygoesbang · 17/08/2013 18:49

I am in the same situation pink I've seen the heartbeat but now I am spotting. Our early unit doesn't cover you until you are 8 weeks and I don't have a midwife yet so will have to wait and see. They did say spotting was normal unless its bright red and you have cramps. I have cramps all the time so I haven't a clue what to do.

Leanne sorry but no you cannot take anything for the diarrhoea my gp has said it's a no no and I've had it weeks too. About 10% of women do and it can last the full pregnancy argghh u hope it doesn't I have issues using a toilet that isn't mine anyway lol

Misty9 · 17/08/2013 18:52

Sorry to hear that pink - it's bloody nerve wracking isn't it?!

I had spotting throughout most of pg with ds, was down to cervical erosion apparently and is v common. It's not what you want to hear probably, but I would try to distract yourself and only worry if the bleeding gets heavy or you start having bad cramps (really bad). You saw a heartbeat and that's a very good sign. I had an early scan with ds at 6+4 and saw a hb. He's now 23mo :)

Feeling shite again today and don't know what to do with myself. Nausea is getting worse and dizziness doesn't help. Also still really bloated - even dug out the maternity jeans today as couldn't do up my trousers! Blush
The thought of food makes me queasy, but hunger makes it worse. Didn't have this with ds. Just trying to tell myself it's a sign of a healthy pregnancy. Blurgh.

bunnygoesbang · 17/08/2013 18:56

Oh and to confirm what other people say a heartbeat reduces chance of miscarriage down dramatically.
Most are because the baby for whatever reasons doesn't develop and never gets to that stage. Just try to relax.
I had loads of bleeding with dd who is 7 and I'm trying to accept it and not worry (easier said that done) I will contact my surgery Monday if it is still there

EverthingcrossedforApril14 · 17/08/2013 19:44

Evening everyone,

Bunny and pink sorry you are having spotting, I am sure it is nothing to worry about, I would be concerned as well but I think it makes a massive difference if you have seen the HB, from what I have read on MN a lot of people that MC at this stage, when they bleed and have the scan the baby has not developed beyond 4 or 5 weeks, if you have had a scan and have seen a HB and the development of the foetus was commensurate with your dates then that is very positive and the bleeding is nothing to be worried about. Lots of ladies on MN seem to have had bleeding and have went on to have lovely healthy babies so take heart. I really feel for people and hope all these beans stick it is just an awful wait!

On the symptom front I am blooming, blooming ugly! I am so pale, my skin has spots (I never had spots even as a teenager), I look about 3 months already (tummy is massive) and I just have the same old saggy boobs, I am reading on MN about all these ladies developing fabulous breasts, not here.

definitely congrats on your scan that is amazing, 13 days until my scan.

6 + 4

NorthKate · 17/08/2013 19:47

The only symptom I have is tender breats oh and a bit bloated but used to suffer from that a bit anyway.

I'm 5+6 and have my booking in appointment on 27th when I'll be 7+2. Am pretty jealous of all the folks getting early scans. I would love to hear the heartbeat definitely think it would make me worry a bit less. I wont have the option of a private scan as are no private clinics on the Island and 12 weeks seems such a long way off. I'm tempted to take another CB digi to see if it has moved on but am worried it might say its vanished completely. Sad

Just need to find some distraction activities I think!

ChocChaffinch · 17/08/2013 19:55

cheers guys;
this sickness started week 6. Gah to week 6!
bunny agree tap water tastes like exhaust fumes to me ;-)

have had a better day for eating today as dh has literally waited on me hand and foot, bless him.
I can't even touch or think about bread
but if he toasts and butters it for me, I can more or less eat it Grin

the overwhelming sickness has blotted any other pg-related worry and work-worry from my mind, so it does have a gold lining

bunnygoesbang · 17/08/2013 20:16

Chocchaffinch I don't know how you Cope. I'm really struggling with the sickness I haven't even been sick today but its been a constant battle. I don't even want to be in the kitchen so if food is in front of me i can force it down and it helps if I do but thinking about food makes me ill.
I keep thinking about a gammon joint I made weeks ago that was lush but the thought makes me sick yet it's there in my head every day lol
Just had some water from my filter and its rank tastes like plastic argh I wish I could find what I actually like to drink right now

dirtyface · 17/08/2013 20:27

oh lovely definitely

congrats x

ChocChaffinch · 17/08/2013 20:37

bunny

LOL I know how you feel, we have an icemaker fridge but it tastes like burnt plastic so it's a no-go
with hyperemesis I stay out of the kitchen as much as physically possible, even put a peg on my nose if I have to go in!!

keep your oven/ grill/ pans spotlessly clean or the smell will kill you. I forgot to put foil on a chicken a few weeks ago and the oven is rank, but can't bring myself to clean it, either.. Confused

preprep all food Grin greggs, macdonalds, chipshop, the kids and dh are used to eating out a lot now Grin or I get the kids to kale their own sandwiches!!
I sip Tropicana from a wineglass, seems like it tastes more cocktail-y that way.

ChocChaffinch · 17/08/2013 20:39

it's the excess saliva that ruins me. Litres of it! what a waste of fluid. And seems so bonkers, so anti-survival to waste water like that. stupid hormones.

and yy to the powerful sense of smell. We live in a semi, and I can smell when next door have a cup of tea!

bunnygoesbang · 17/08/2013 20:45

Lol yeah everything smells wrongly house feels and smells dirty. I've tried a billion types of pop/water/milk/ cordials and fruit juice but I'm not a fan of orange. Maybe I should try it and see if I like it now.

I got cordial from a temperance bar at a farmers market and I got blood tonic and black current and liquorice but I'm almost out. I may have to stalk the company online and get more blood tonic. It was rosehip and nettle and was lush

bunnygoesbang · 17/08/2013 20:47

I've found some

www.mrfitzpatricks.com/product/blood_tonic/

ChocChaffinch · 17/08/2013 21:03

sounds alarming!!!

Bodeccia · 17/08/2013 21:03

Evening all

Sorry to hear about the spotting, but fwiu you've had your early scans and its more of an inconvenience rather than anything more serious. I hope it stops soon.

I'm so grateful not to be too nauseous (yet!), what a nightmare for you ladies who are being sick. I have yet to get to 6 weeks, it might kick in then. Last time I only got waves of nausea without actually being sick, I feel like I got off lightly.

Yes to heightened sense of smell! Perfume - bleugh, I can smell cigarette smoke from miles away, and no no no to coffee.

I walked for 5 miles today, but I think I overdid it. When I got back to the car, I felt really dizzy and wobbly. I just wanted to get some exercise in and keep healthy. Also my dd needed to sleep. I came back and slept for an hour.

I have my gp appointment on Monday. I couldn't remember if you have to tell you gp first, then contact the midwife or the other way round. I'll be 5 weeks then, I hope its not too early.

My other slight obsession at the moment is about buggies (I know, I know, waaay too early). By the time this one comes along, my dd will be almost 2, she'll still need to have kind of buggy, right? So I've started looking at the new world that is: the double/tandem buggy. If this is your first pregnancy, welcome to the never ending ways of how to get your dc from A to B. Fwiw, I got a second hand mutsy off ebay, and its been brilliant, although its getting a bit knackered now (hence new obsession).

Bodeccia · 17/08/2013 21:08

Also, every time I sneeze, I get a big stomach cramp, and them panic that I've managed to damage womb lining or something. Hate the paranoia of this trimester...

Bodeccia · 17/08/2013 21:11

Mmm, that cordial looks, nice. Bit vampirish, we could be on True Blood!

coffeewineandchocolate · 17/08/2013 22:00

Node via I think it depends how much walking you do. You could use a sling for baby or a buggy board for your older dc? My des has refused to go in a buggy when out with me since he was 18 months! He was happy walking reasonable distances from about 2 and can now at 2.5 walk miles!

coffeewineandchocolate · 17/08/2013 22:04

Bodeccia not node via! Stupid predictive text

bunnygoesbang · 17/08/2013 22:30

Haha it's good for the blood apparently but the colour is from rosehips

Lollol87 · 17/08/2013 22:42

Ladies, I had my hair dyed this afternoon and now my eyes are all puffy and they keep getting really wet then so stingy that I can't open them for about 5 mins... I'm worried that I'm having an allergic reaction.. Help anyone Sad

Misty9 · 17/08/2013 22:52

lollo you poor thing :( have you tried pouring cool water on them? Or do you have any saline solution? Cucumber slices? Cool tea bags?
Failing that, call NHS direct (or whatever it's called now)

bunnygoesbang · 17/08/2013 23:02

Lollo you need to go to a and e or call the new NHS number is it 111 or something.
It is a reaction and can get worse not to panic you. If you weren't pregnant I would say take piriton but I'm not sure what you can take so seek medical advice. It may not get worse but honestly it's not worth the risk.
Hopefully it's just your eyes reacting

Nessalina · 18/08/2013 00:56

Oh no! That's made up my mind about getting my hair coloured next month then Hmm Roots here I come!
Maybe have a cool shower Lol and rinse your hair through and shampoo a few times if you can, that'll get rid of some of the residue and calm down the itching. I reckon you're fine to take an antihistamine too if you have one. I take Cetirizine daily (because I suffer from pretty constant awful dust allergy) and checked on NHS Direct about it and they said that Loratadine is usually recommended in pregnancy or Cetirizine if that's not effective. Basically in clinical trials they've both been found to be NOT harmful to animal pregnancy, but they obv can't do human trials. So they can't rule out that it isn't harmful, but indications are that it isn't.
Hope you feel better!

Nessalina · 18/08/2013 00:57

Bodaccia - I'm also getting annoying sneeze cramps! Horrible sensation!
