I think this pg seems pretty similar to my other from what I can remember. Terrible nausea for most of the day. the actual being sick has started aswell now ive hit the 6 week mark. Maybe if its so different you are having the opposite to last time? I had a ds, and just have a feeling that this is a ds aswell.

I went to see the gp yesterday about the sickness and he prescribed promethazine, he said that was the only one that was in the book to prescribe and that they didnt know if it was safe or not?! Which is obv crap as some of you have mentioned the cyclizine Hmm did the go mention how safe that is? I don't think I'm bad enough yet to take it if it might not be safe. It's just so much harder coping with it this time with ds to look after. I can't just curl up in bed like I did last time! I also mentioned to him about my last af being light and only lasting a day and a half. He said it might not have been af and I could be further along although I don't think I am but I might get an earlier scan when I mention it to the midwife next week. We shall see!

I think I'm going to have to invest in some maternity leggings or jeans aswell soon as they dig in my tummy. even the leggings feel like they are cutting me in 2 when i sit down, but the next size up are too baggy. My bra's seem to be holding out for now but the wires are starting to dig in underneath a bit already. Off to new look and mothercare for a mooch this afty!

Hope all the rest of you are feeling ok Smile

BartBaby · 14/08/2013 13:00

Good luck for the scan pink

bunnygoesbang · 14/08/2013 13:06

Hi BartBaby
My gp said nothing is safe to take during pregnancy and it all has risks.
He gave me a prescription for the cylazine not sure how its spelt but told me to do my own research and when I did it said an increase five fold of cleft palettes ski haven't got it. My nausea is everyday but I am Not sick constantly.
He advised I only to take it in extreme cases where you can't hold down water as the risk of dehydration is greater than the risk of pills.
Thankfully I am much better and don't have to make that decision.
I am in lots if pain from the endometriosis and unable to take any pain relief other then paracetamol so I am struggling with the pain which is making me worry that it's not just that

ThedementedPenguin · 14/08/2013 13:11

bartbaby my mum reckons I'm having a girl. But at 6w+4d it's hard to know.

runninggirl85 · 14/08/2013 13:32

pinkpeoniesplease · 14/08/2013 15:30

Hi everyone, hope you're all having a good day. Went to the docs - he has told me to book my appt with midwife .. The bleeding has stopped so he thinks everything is ok but he has told me to re-test in a week if I am still worried. I think I managed to wait a whole 2 hours without POAS again - I have a serious addiction!

coffeewineandchocolate · 14/08/2013 15:43

just back from a walk with coffeedog and I'm absolutely shattered... Realised that I'm not actually 5w until tomorrow not today as first thought...

In desperate need of caffeine but have had my one cup this morning :-(

Re private scans, has anyone found any good deals?

bunnygoesbang · 14/08/2013 15:58

Have many of us have had an early scan?

Bodeccia · 14/08/2013 16:00

Hi bart, i would agree with bunny, I wouldn't take the promethazine, or cylcazine if possible. I'm noticing that already it seems harder this time because of dd1 and not being able to just stop when I want to. I guess you just have to take each day at a time.

I have already started dreaming about comfortable clothes. Last time I was a lot heavier (size 18/20) and then I lost a heap of weight and am now a size 12/14. I binned all my old clothes, but kept my maternity clothes. I'm thinking that they'll all be too big for me, but I'll give them a go. I'm not going to invest in too many bits, just some comfortable work trousers and a couple of tops. I used to have some wrap dresses that were really good last time, but I got rid of them all, d'oh!

Good luck with the early scans, I cannot wait for mine!

BoobsTooBig · 14/08/2013 17:10

Dose anyone here have no symptoms at all.? I just feel fine, my boobs bigger again sensitive nips but other then that no bloating no sickness nothing. I mc last month at 7+3 and I never had a day of sickness but lower abdomen bloated early as in week 4 (but no signes any kind of bloat with this one and I'm now 4+4) with the last by week 6 had to undo top button when ate and when I was squatting bandaging horses legs.
Anyone else's just feel normal?

Trinpy · 14/08/2013 17:11

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who's bloating like crazy! I feel so fat! All my trousers are digging in so I'm going to start the elastic band through the buttonhole trick.

coughingbeanintheoven · 14/08/2013 18:15

boobs, some days I feel totally normal and almost forget I am pregnant!
others I am so ravenous and sick at the same time I cant forget! Grin

pinkpeoniesplease · 14/08/2013 18:20

Congratulation PINK that's wonderful how did you get a scan so early? When did you have your booking in? X

prettyinpink90 · 14/08/2013 18:42

Congratulations pink! How amazing! Can't wait for it to be my turn! What could you seen on the scan?

bunnygoesbang · 14/08/2013 18:47

Freaking out about my scan so glad to hear positives pink thanks and yey for you

pinkpeoniesplease · 14/08/2013 18:51

I had a private scan. I have my booking on Tuesday.

You can see the shape of the baby's head, the heartbeat, the yolk sac and amniotic fluid. They explained quite a lot and gave us five pictures, they showed us the heartbeat and the turned up the sound so we could hear it and suggested recording it on our iPhone's so have a video of the heartbeat as well!

It's definitely worth the money, especially as I have no symptoms and had some spotting.

www.drugs.com/pregnancy/cyclizine.html
for more details about the link between cyclizine in pregnancy and cleft palate. This article quotes a 5-fold increase but then goes on to explain that
the incidence of cleft palate was similar in patients with nausea and vomiting not treated with cyclizine, indicating the condition itself may be to blame.
I couldn't find any sources for the studies they quote on this article but my computer is playing up!

cookielove · 14/08/2013 19:39

Hello all, Smile

My friend had her baby today, she had a girl!!

I have basically no symptoms, just tiredness, sore boobs and occasionally i feel very sick but mostly i feel fine!

OrangeLilyLady · 14/08/2013 20:45

Hi all
Hope everyone has had a good day. I felt nauseous most of the morning and exhausted all day. Off to bed shortly. I guess having ME/CFS has made me even more exhausted. Anyone else got a chronic illness they are also dealing with?

Lily (5+2)

coffeewineandchocolate · 14/08/2013 20:50

my cousin has just announced she is pregnant with her third! She's due Feb 2014. I feel like a copy cat now ;-) glad I've already told my sister's and parents

bunnygoesbang · 14/08/2013 20:59

Hi orange lady I have endometriosis and adenomyosis and I'm not taking any pain relief at the moment. It's hard as I don't know if its my normal pain or new worrying pain I am dealing with.the positive is that pregnancy is very effective at treating some of the side effects which are chronic pain/tiredness and infertility so it's cured one already lol

ChocChaffinch · 14/08/2013 21:02

well I'm on cyclizine, as haven't eaten / kept anything down for three days..
HG is a total bitch. In fact, it isn't working for me so I need something stronger or to use in tandem.
