Tea1Sugar · 14/08/2013 07:20

Hi kitty, I remember you too from the conception thread, yay congrats! I've got my gp appointment this afternoon, doubt she'll do much though. Last time I just had my blood pressure and weight done then was told to expect a letter so we'll see

runninggirl85 · 14/08/2013 07:20

Morning everyone.

I'm jealous you all know how far along you are. I don't know and it's frustrating :-(

Had a bad night last night and just laid awake for hours feeling sick. Haven't been sick at all though which is good but feel bloated .

Is everyone different when they start to show? I have no idea about these sort of things!

xx

Nessalina · 14/08/2013 07:20

Hey Boobs, sorry to hear you're feeling down, but it's totally understandable after MC, you're bound to feel apprehensive. You'll get that feeling back I'm sure!! Smile
I haven't bought a thing yet, but only 4 weeks today! Bras are going to be first on the list, existing ones are squeezing me already!!

Vikkijayne2507 · 14/08/2013 07:59

There is an april stats thread if you search for it btw guys. Just so you know

Vikki 6 +2

I am feeling very tired and upset stomach still remains. I havent got sickness I do occasionally have nausea if I smell things like coffee and I made some food for work the other day and the thought of that makes me feel really ill. ergh. So ive avoided that so far.

Im soo bloated I look very pregnant its really annoying tho at 6 weeks shouldnt see anything grr.

greentshirt · 14/08/2013 08:00

I'm a planner too, so far I've just had a little google of prams and a bit of maternity clothing. Too scared to do much else! I'm going on holiday when I'll be 10 weeks so thinking of getting one pair of maternity shorts to see me through that week, there is NO room for any more of me in my existing pairs! Might need them on the other side too for this glorious summer 2014 we are definitely going to have whilst we are all on maternity leave!

scaredysausage · 14/08/2013 08:03

Morning all.
Just got my BFP yesterday, I think I'm about 8/9 weeks and due the first week of April, but I have quite erratic cycles so will need a scan to confirm. I will probably give birth in March, though, hope it's ok to join this group though!
I have a four and a half year old daughter, and our son was stillborn 16 months ago, so I will be in a padded cell for most of this pregnancy.
I spoke to my consultant's secretary yesterday, but she's on annual leave, and I'll try and speak to my GP today to get things started. Eeep.

BTW, I've name changed so I don't out myself!

cookielove · 14/08/2013 08:12

Hello all,

Nice to see some new faces!!

scaredy and boobs sorry to hear about your losses Flowers

BoobsTooBig · 14/08/2013 08:20

Talking of clothes I bought soo much maternity clothing with first pregnancy I won't need to with this one. All with tags still attached as most arrived after MC so I sort of hid them all in a cupboard. Fingers crossed I will make full term and be able to enjoy wearing them all.

bunnygoesbang · 14/08/2013 08:39

Boobs I know how you feel.
We were told this couldn't happen without ivf. I've had miscarriages and an ectopic previously and I have endometriosis and adenomyosis and has two lots of surgery this year all of which pushes up my chances of this being an ectopic significantly.
I'm so petrified and can't sleep from worry and have been signed off by my gp which is embarrassing to admit.
I'm trying to get excited and as each day goes on I look at more baby things and plan a little bit more but I can't talk to the baby.
I know nobody can but some people pat their tummy and say things to their tum like you better be a good one in there or you are making me sick naughty baby. Until I get that scan tomorrow I just can't. I could just be talking to my intestines. I know that makes me sound odd but I feel like there is a barrier and until I know for sure I can't fully breathe and relax

Having said that I did grab a few pairs of maternity trousers from the new look sale as my womb is tilted forward so will show quick this time

patsy375 · 14/08/2013 09:12

Boobs I totally understand how you are feeling as i was exactly the same.
I had a mc at 6 weeks with my 3rd pregnancy. 6 weeks later found myself pregnant again and was completely numb, unattached and petrified until my dating scan at 14 weeks.
It's definitely your body and mind trying to protect you from further disappointment. Don't feel guilty for feeling like this, it wont last.
There's lots of support on here and I also found the pregnancy after mc threads very helpful at the time.

Take care Thanks

dirtyface · 14/08/2013 10:05

hi can i join you?

got my BFP today and due date calculator suggest am due 24th april :)

am nervous as had MMC back in april. so am praying this one sticks and i have a healthy pg

this will be DC #3 - got ds aged 7 and dd aged 4 :)

boldlittlebird · 14/08/2013 10:08

Trinpy, had my very own miscarriage dream last night as well, so you are not alone!

Downstairs - we've done it once since the BFP, not so much because we're nervous but because I'm KNACKERED by 9:30pm (if I'm lucky: often 8). Weekends are the only option Smile

I recently read something on the web which suggested that sex in the first trimester was 'associated with' miscarriage, which is CLEARLY bullshit - why can't pregnancy advice be straightforward? Everything (bar drinking, smoking and base jumping) is uncertain - you might need to avoid coffee but it's probably fine; heavy lifting is fine, heavy lifting is associated with pre-term labour; noisy work environments damage your baby's hearing but HSE says there's no evidence there's any effect - I might just stop trying to research anything and base all my judgements on common sense!

Basically it seems that whatever you do, there'll always be someone standing on the sidelines going OOOOOH, you shouldn't be doing that you know! Hmm

iloveweetos · 14/08/2013 10:59

vomiting at work....lovely!
i bought some ginger chewies from Holland and Barratt yesterday but cant bring myself to have one :(

Goldenhandshake · 14/08/2013 11:07

Hi to all the new BFP's Smile

I am pleased to report that I've had no furtehr bleeding, such a relief!

Am still feeling quite sicky, the bloating seems to be dying doen a bit thank god, it was a nightmare so anyone suffering from that has my full sympathy.

Maternity clothes wise I saved a couple of bit from my pregnancy with DD, and my sister has given me a huge bagful which will come in handy for work but DD and my nephew are early winter babies so most of the clothes I saved/been given are summer wear, so I will still need to buy some winter maternity clothes and a coat.

We have been looking at prams too, and it will be either an iCandy peach or an orbit G2.

Not actually bought a thing yet as we want to wait until our first scan and are sure all is ok.

coffeewineandchocolate · 14/08/2013 11:20

hi all. I'm 5 weeks today :-). Had an awful nights sleep with very weird dreams. feeling exhausted and a little sick today ago taking it easy as on al this week. Not looking forward to work next week....

This pregnancy feels different from my first and I'm fighting the urge to have a early scan (very expensive). Have had no bleeding so taking that as a positive sign... It's just going so slowly

prettyinpink90 · 14/08/2013 11:36

Hi ladies Smile got my BFP on a Clear Blue digital on Saturday which read 2-3 weeks which means I'm 4-5 weeks pregnant!!! Won't be sure on my actual due date until my dating scan as I conceived straight after coming off Cerazette on 14/07. I've been to see my GP yesterday who has referred me to a midwife. Hoping I'll be able to go for my scan a little earlier than 12 weeks so we can date the pregnancy properly and start to tell everyone!
Congratulations to you all Smile

Goldenhandshake · 14/08/2013 11:38

coffee mine feels completely different too, I'd always hear the old 'every pregnancy is different line' but had no idea just how wildly different:

Pregnancy 1: awful morning sickness, hated any chemical/perfume smell, fainted a few times a week due to sudden drop in blood pressure+low blood sugar. Lost 7lbs in first trimester as I hated foodin general. Quite tired but manageable.

This pregnancy so far: Awful feeling of nausea almost all day, but have only been sick a few times. Terrible trapped wind, bloating and switching between constipation and diarrhea, heartburn at nigth and sometimes during the day, occasionally getting a gross metallic taste in my mouth as though I have been sucking a penny. Feeling absolutely shattered and I get so hungry at random points of the day I feel like I could eat the person at the next desk. Then when I do eat I feel sick. I go on and off different food almost daily e.g. put a slic of bread in the toaster yesterday morning and before it was done decided tht was gross so had cheerio's instead! Oh and I have gone off chocolate, which is unthinkable for me. Not had a bar in over a month!

ThedementedPenguin · 14/08/2013 11:59

golden it's very strange isn't it. This pregnancy is so so different from my first. It a bit freaky and it's hard to think positively at times.

With your first did you have a ds or dd?

First pregnancy: felt nauseas all day, extreme tiredness (woke up exhausted), metallic taste in my mouth, went off meat completely and lost quite a few pounds. - Had a ds

This pregnancy so far: have felt more tired but not really tired, have fainted a few times, feel bloated quite a lot. Which is the worst feeling in the world.

runninggirl85 · 14/08/2013 12:04

Is anyone else really emotional.. i keep getting really teary for nothing.

I am pretty tired though.

Can't seem to help it :-(

runninggirl85 · 14/08/2013 12:06

Golden.. how far along are you? Some of what you have said is how i am feeling so i am just trying to guess how far i am (irregular periods ) x

coffeewineandchocolate · 14/08/2013 12:14

ds I had dizziness and sickness until 12 weeks. then straightforward pregnancy and birth bar heartburn and a bit of siatica

this time I have had dizziness, tiredness, fainting and palpitations before I even tested positive. now I'm tired with a little dizziness, nausea if tired but could eat for England. craving wine whereas first pregnancy the smell made me sick throughout

pinkpeoniesplease · 14/08/2013 12:19

Hi all, welcome new BFP's!

I got my HCG result from the Dr and it put me 4/5 days ahead of my LMP date?! I had a second blood test today to see if the levels are rising or falling.

I also have a private scan tonight so fingers crossed, I'm nervous!! Smile

OP posts:
prettyinpink90 · 14/08/2013 12:35

pink good luck for your scan tonight! How many weeks are you?

Goldenhandshake · 14/08/2013 12:36

Demented I had a DD with first pregnancy, I am now wondering if perhaps this will be a boy as it is so wildly different.

Running I hit 7 weeks yesterday

KittyKK · 14/08/2013 12:40

Hope everyone's nausea passes soon....

Golden - glad to hear that your bleeding has stopped Flowers

Hi Pink - all the best for your scan today! How specific was your Dr about the HCG levels?

Mine just said I was "in range", so looks fine....hcg of 70.2 at 3w5d and hcg of 597.6 at 4w3d. Going back for another blood test again on Friday!
