glad to hear the bleeding has stopped nessa,. I had a little lie in this morning and an feeling a bit better. That said, I don't think this week was the best week to potty train my toddler!

patsy375 · 13/08/2013 09:18

Glad to hear things are better this morning Golden. Have you been able to take the day off work?
Penguin the fainting sounds most inconvenient and a little scary! Poor you.
Having some sweets to hand seems like a good idea. Jelly Babies are good for a quick sugar rush Smile
My night shift went mercifully fast, but the morning sickness takes on a whole new level of grim when it comes after being awake all night.
Off to bed now, have a good Tuesday everyone!

Bodeccia · 13/08/2013 09:26

Glad the bleeding has stopped golden
Hi Nessa
I have had such bad insomnia recently, how does that happen when I'm so freaking tired all the time? Last night I was awake from 2am til 5.30am. I'll just have to try and sleep while dd sleeps good luck with that I'm sure it'll be fine.

I'm glad the early scans are looking good, such a relief to see a flashing bean there :) I've got mine booked for early September. I'll be interested to know if it is actually twins or not, I feel like I'm really big tummied at the moment, although it could be my imagination.

Gross alert: I just caught dd1 with her hands in the cat litter and she stank of cat poo (oh god oh god oh god). Just gave her a bath and scrubbed and scrubbed her little hands. I was trying not to vomit at the same time, and of course my sense of smell has heightened, so all I can smell is cat poo (cue retching). And also, in the back of my mind there is the thought: pregnant woman + cat litter = toxoplasmosis. Bleuuurgh!

IthinkIneedmorewine · 13/08/2013 09:47

Can I join please?! Due 12th April(ish), and have DD1 who is nearly 3. First appointment with midwife 27th August. Planned pregnancy but slightly worried as I start a new uni course in September, so might be a busy year!

bunnygoesbang · 13/08/2013 10:35

Having a shopping day and going tentatively look at baby items.
Feeling very sicky today so I am armed with travel sweets, mints and cereal bars

Goldenhandshake · 13/08/2013 11:03

Patsy unfortunately not, but as I have a desk based job it's nothing strenuous etc so I should be ok Smile.

Emilycee · 13/08/2013 11:46

Hello everyone and congratulations! Smile

Please can I join in? I am due 5th April (day before our 1st wedding anniversary!) First pregnancy, apprehensive but exited!

Had a reassurance scan on sat and saw a tiny little bean so it is where it should be! it was very surreal.

Got first midwife appointment on Friday, but not with my own docs because they are so full they couldnt get me in until after my 12 week scan is due. (but worried about the shortage of midwives in this area!)

Told both sets of parents and best friends (we thought that whatever happens we would need support anyway) My MIL is lovely but a bit fussy (my mum is the opposite) and is getting on my tits a bit but she means well!

Emilycee · 13/08/2013 11:47

Forgot to ask!

What do all of the abbreviations mean? DD, DH, BFP, DS?! is there a list anywhere?

Thanks!Smile Smile

I have my first scan booked for 12th September. only 4 weeks and 2 days to go! Had another mc dream last night. Woke up this morning feeling terrified. Can't wait to see my baby alive and well!

Hello everyone!
Can't believe there are so many awful sickness and symptom sufferers. I feel for you all...
I have no symptoms apart from tiredness so far but it's very early days so I am preparing myself.
Last time I escaped unscathed too (apart from the horrifficness of the actual birth) so hope it's just that I am lucky rather than something being wrong.

iloveweetos · 13/08/2013 16:09

Tmi! But has anyone had a uti during a pregnancy? I don't feel any different so had no idea. Give antibiotics but is it something to worry about?

Fairypants · 13/08/2013 16:13

Hi to all the new bfp's - congratulations!
Ilove- I read the other day that the infection doesn't cause a problem but some antibiotics can do. If yr dr knows then in sure it's fine.
Downstairs- I think my DH is a bit nervous as we have only dtd once since getting a BFP 1.5 weeks ago. Either that or it the concept of me being pg that's putting him off in some way Hmm

Trinpy · 13/08/2013 16:22

Downstairs me too Blush . I know it's silly and that it's not going to cause any damage to the baby but still...

Also doesn't help feeling tired/sicky/crampy/etc. Also my boobs are soo sore and everything, um, down there feels very sensitive at the moment - so sex isn't much fun. Such a shame as I thought I'd love dtd for fun rather than baby-making reasons.

coffeewineandchocolate · 13/08/2013 17:22

I'm not up for Dtd at all with the tiredness I have. I've told dh he will have to wait for a few weeks :-)

OrangeLilyLady · 13/08/2013 18:37

Hi all, hope everyone is feeling OK today.
We saw our GP this morning and booked in with the midwife and got our pregnancy pack. Should hear from the midwife in a couple of weeks.
We also saw our fertility doctor this afternoon who has booked us in for an early pregnancy scan next week, just to check that the fertility drugs have not given us multiple babies, although scan is not 100% clear so soon, sometimes they can pick them up. Can't wait to see our little peanut on the screen.
Anyone else had lots of bloating and gas? I've had it really badly the last couple of days and not enjoying it.
Lily (5+1)

cookielove · 13/08/2013 18:55

Hello :)

iloveweetos I had a suspected uti the week before I found out as did my sis with both of her pregnancies.

downstairs I'm the same poor dh, he keeps saying he knew I only wanted a baby Blush

Sorry to ask again but the midwife will contact me through the post????

bunnygoesbang · 13/08/2013 19:03

Hello All

We haven't dtd since I found out. I am nervous but very up for it. Oh just won't says he would me we forgive himself if something happened even though he knows nothing will lol he wants to wait until after the scan on Thursday. He's not normally a worrier but its been a long journey.

I have lots if uti's and had loads last pregnancy. As long as you have antibiotics there's nothing to worry about. Later in pregnancy if you have a lot/ several during pregnancy they may put you on a low dose for a set period as it can trigger early labour.

Had to buy all new bras today as I have gone up a full size. They are huge and so swollen/heavy/hot and tight. They did this last time and I was already big anyway. Hello 36G I think the G stands for gigantic.

As for wind wow it's constant lol

Got through the day without too many sicky moments and feeling positive this one isn't going anywhere. Time to put my feet up and wait for Thursday

Tea1Sugar · 13/08/2013 19:10

Hi all can I VERY tentatively join you? Got my bfp today (3 actually Grin). I think it makes my dd 24th April. Going to see doc tomorrow and get the admin ball rolling. Hope its a sticky bean, I have a dd 3.3. Loads o luck to all the April mammas Smile

BartBaby · 13/08/2013 19:10

cookie I got given a piece of paper/letter type thing off the doctors after I'd been which said I had to phone the midwife to make my appt. lots of doctors are different, but it wouldn't hurt to just phone the doctors and ask what their procedure is.

downstairs I was a bit wary the first week but I've just been a bit more cautious.

lily I've been very bloated aswell. Not gassy. Just bloated with a big tummy!

greentshirt · 13/08/2013 19:44

lily im at the same stage as you (5+2) and im really bloated after eating too. I suffer loads from trapped wind - theres something you didnt know about me eh ladies?! lol and now theres just loads of it. some trapped some escaping!

My bowels seem to have gone the other way now too and I have had the runs first thing in the morn for the last 2 days.

Ive started feeling really nauseous too. im not very good with being sick so fingers crossed it doesnt come to that! Bananas are the only thing that makes me feel better. Went to Tescos at lunch and forgot to buy some. Got in the car, nearly cried when I realised then went back in for some!

How is everyones weight gain so far? Im not a small girl (5'10 and 174lbs), in the last 2 weeks I have fluctuated between 174 and 178, today I was 175, so cant really tell if im gaining or losing a bit. I struggle to take a lot of 'good' calories because I prefer to eat crap but since I got my BFP I have been conscious of every single thing that goes in my mouth so now im a bit worried about making sure I eat enough! How much can we expect to gain in the first trimester and at what rate?

cookielove · 13/08/2013 20:44

Thank you BartBaby have emailed the surgery regarding something else (although to do with the baby) so will wait for a reply about that before i mention it,

Can't believe i am 6+4 Grin

Congratulations tea

Emilycee · 13/08/2013 21:16

Cookielove I am also 6+4! Cant wait to get to 12 and tell all of our friends :-)
