LeeHandy so glad to hear that everything seems ok and how lovely to see the heartbeat. What sort of pains have you been having? I only ask as I had some uncomfortable pains early hours of this morning but no spotting or anything else, so not sure if it's just 'stretching'?

runninggirl85 · 12/08/2013 11:30

Thank you.

I'm scared. Reading stories of MC is frightening.

I'm not sure when i will first see a doctor but i am seeing a nurse on Thursday morning as i have just registered at a new surgery so fingers crossed they will let me have a doc appointment.

LeeHandy · 12/08/2013 11:33

Thank you everything and tinker. it's just sunk in for dh that we're not having twins though so I think he is a bit disappointed. Grin
tinker, It's a sort of dull pain that comes and goes near my ovaries (I figured that out while she was poking around my ovaries today at the scan). It usually feels like period pain but I never have period pains. I have it almost everyday but not all through the day. Hope that helps. FWIW, the midwife said any kind of pain is not normal and to just come into to EPU if I continue to have pain consistently or any spotting.

pinkpeoniesplease · 12/08/2013 13:08

Wow Lee that's great! Was it a private scan? I have one Wednesday evening.
I went to the Doctor this morning re bleeding and they took some blood to measure the level of HCG. I have to go back Wednesday for another one to see if the levels are rising or falling. I didn't tell them about my private scan.

Congrats Lee - how exciting! Could you see much on the scan, ie a baby shape, or just a little heart beat? Did they give you some pics to take home? It must make it feel so real Smile

I'm currently working my way through an entire white baguette smothered in Lurpak and boursin. It stops the sickness for a few minutes and then I need to reach for more. Someone help me!

patsy375 · 12/08/2013 15:50

Decided to rest my eyes for 10 minutes post lunch. Woke up an hour and a half later with the sofa pattern imprinted on my fat lazy face! Shock
Can't get over how tired I am this time round.
Working nights tonight as well Sad
Any chance you can spare some of that baguette Definitely?
It's been at least an hour and a half since I last fed!

Definitelysometime · 12/08/2013 16:02

I only wish there was Patsy! I'm now on the salt and vinegar rice cakes to keep the sickness at bay.

Poor you being on nights, that's Tough. Nothing lazy about that nap - you obviously needed it! Hope your shift is ok.

runninggirl85 · 12/08/2013 16:22

I feel lazy too...just fell asleep for an hour. Its not good, i work at home and really hope it doesnt start to affect my work :-(

I am forcing myself to go to the gym and then for a run tonight with my club just so i stay awake for a few hours and talk to some people!!

pink it was not a private scan. I was referred to the EPU by my GP because of the spotting I had on Friday.
definitely, there was no baby shape. Smile I think it's too early for that. I saw a round shape which I thought could be baby but it was a yolk sac that feeds it till the placenta develops. The baby itself was just 3 little dots next to the yolk sac, one of which was flashing and was the heartbeat. I didn't get a picture because it would take a lot of imagination to see a baby there. Smile
I am sooo hungry all the time. I had breakfast, 10.30 sandwich, pasta lunch and now wondering what to eat for tea.

Goldenhandshake · 12/08/2013 17:17

I have started bleeding Sad

Light pink, for the last 30 minutes or so, it's not pouring out but is there when I wipe. I rang EPAU and they said to call back if I get any pain or it gets heavier.

Please tell me this isn't what a miscarriage is like. I will be 7 weeks tomorrow

OrangeLilyLady · 12/08/2013 17:36

Hi All

I'm due in April 2014 too, so very early days. I'm exactly 5 weeks today. Going to see the doctor tomorrow after getting our BFP on Tues 6th.

Still can't quite believe it's finally happened. It's taken us three rounds of clomid fertility drugs to make it happen, so it's even more special for us. Especially as we thought the next step would be IVF.

It would be great to chat to other people in the early stages and beyond, to check that the symptoms I am getting are normal ish.

Hope to hear from some of you soon.
Lily x

coffeewineandchocolate · 12/08/2013 17:40

don't worry too much golden- I think there's lots of reasons for bleeding in pregnancy, not just miscarriage. Im not sure but I think the general stretching of everything can cause light bleeding, you can have a haemmorrage which is old blood (but doesn't cause a miscarriage). My friend had spotting on and off through her pregnancy.

Just get lots of rest and follow the advice to get checked out If it gets worse. could you afford a private reassurance scan?

boldlittlebird · 12/08/2013 17:43

Oh, goldenhandshake, hope you are OK. It must be scary but there are lots and lots of ladies on here who have bleeding - even regular bleeding - for weeks and go on to have perfectly healthy pregnancies. I guess that's why the EPAU didn't call you in.

In fact I think if you flick back a few pages on this thread someone says they had bleeding on and off up to 10 weeks [goes off to try and find it]

coffeewineandchocolate · 12/08/2013 17:43

hi lily! sounds like we are due a day apart (I'm 5 weeks tomorrow). At present I'm experiencing lots of tiredness and nausea and dizziness in the mornings. I was very sick with my first so hoping to avoid that this time..

Goldenhandshake · 12/08/2013 17:44

Thank you for the reassurance coffee I am worried as I never had any bleeding with my pregnancy with DD, and I fell pregnant around 6 weeks after a hysteroscopy so ahve been a bit paranoid that could have caused problems even though they said everything looked fine and biopsy results were good.
I will keep an eye out but can feel panic building in my throat if that makes sense?

patsy375 · 12/08/2013 17:55

Golden I know its easier said than done but try not worry.
The Epau would have asked you to go in if they felt it was a problem. Only need to worry if bleeding is bright red, comes without wiping and you have pain.
Try and rest if you can and please let us know how you are later.

patsy375 · 12/08/2013 17:59

Congratulations Lilly thats wonderful news.
Lots of support and unashamed eating on here.Smile

runninggirl85 · 12/08/2013 18:04

Hi lilly,

Yay congrats. I'm between 5 & 6 weeks, can't be sure yet so we are around the same time too :-) x

EverthingcrossedforApril14 · 12/08/2013 18:15

Golden, sorry to hear about the bleeding, I would be at my wits end, but as the other ladies have said lots of people have had bleeding and there was no issue. My friend had bleeding everyday with both her DD until she was 20 weeks and they are perfect.

Keep an eye on it, try not to go to the toilet all the time to check and go to the hospital if it gets worse, I would not even ring them again, I would just go. If you turn up they are more likely to see you, if you ring they will try to delay you coming down. If in doubt check it out! good luck am thinking of you x

Thank you all i am on the train going home from work so unable to check obsessively at the moment, im just hoping its stopped by the time i get home

LeeHandy · 12/08/2013 18:42

hi Lilly, congratulations! Thanks
Golden, I was told today by the mid-wife to go straight to EPU whenever I have spotting or bleeding. She said "don't come every day if you have bleeding every day" but she said it was ok to go every week even. I would find out the EPU timings for your local hospital and just show up.

cookielove · 12/08/2013 18:45
