Lee- Did you speak to your GP re spotting? Did they book your scan?
I had some fresh blood when wiping last night and this morning. I'm not sure what to do as it's the weekend so might call Dr tomorrow. What did they advise you? Hope your scan goes well! You should definitely see a heartbeat at 7+2, how exciting Smile

I would always get and spotting/bleeding or coloured discharge checked out it could be a sign of ectopic.
To balance it out I bled on and off with my dd up to around 10 weeks and she is fine.

Are you our first early scan lee?

boldlittlebird · 11/08/2013 16:00

Hello to all new people, and big congratulations! So funny, I do kind of feel like an imposter posting on this thread because I still don't really feel pregnant . . . apart from the boobs and the aforementioned bowel issues (commiserations to everyone who's got them, one way or the other Smile) DH had to give me a pep talk this morning: 'You've got two positive pregnancy tests, sore breasts, queasiness and, most telling of all, you HAVEN'T HAD A PERIOD' Grin

greentshirt, I too am an inveterate worrier, really conscious that I'm not allowing myself to properly 'attach' to the idea of a little baby inside me until I've seen evidence it's really there and all is well. We're investigating whether we can get an early scan done on his work health insurance plan, but suspect not.

I'll just have to get a grip Grin

Leehandy, wishing you lots of lovely images from your scan!

tinkerboosmum · 11/08/2013 16:04

Lee thanks very much for doing the stats.

Nausea has kicked in in the last couple of days and my boobs are killing me Smile, painful bloating seems to be easing a little which I hope is a good sign? Have decided not to tell anyone until after 1st scan (no date yet). Good job it's summer and I can wear floaty tops as I just can't bear to hold my tummy in atm Grin. Hope everyone is feeling ok and managing to get some rest when you can......

cookielove · 11/08/2013 18:30

Hello all :)

My main symptom is overall tiredness

I'm back at work next week so hopefully I can hide it. Although if the people I think who know already cause they listened into a private conversation behind closed doors, do know then my secret will be out as one of them is a huge blabber mouth and can't keep anything a secret Hmm

Misty9 · 11/08/2013 18:58

Finally plucking up the courage to post here - bfp last Thursday and due around 12th April! Have one ds, 23mo, and his 6am wake up calls are not helping my tiredness... Other than that, I'm just ravenous ALL the time! Anyone else got this? I'll be the size of a house at this rate! Mind you, I've totally gone off sweet stuff (and I have a serious sweet tooth normally).

Don't like first tri as you never know if all is ok :( also I have an ectropian (or some word like that) cervix so tend to spot throughout pregnancy. Started at 7wks with ds, so will see how this one goes. Bloating so much I look like I have a bump already Confused

bunnygoesbang · 11/08/2013 19:42

So many our family already know along with work colleagues due to my health issues it seems too difficult to keep it quiet from everyone until the 12 week scan. Someone is going to low our cover and upset the people that don't know.
I'm thinking of making it fully public knowledge if the early can this week goes well.
What do people think?
If it goes wrong after that it will knock me for six and I will need the support of everyone to keep me sane and going

EverthingcrossedforApril14 · 11/08/2013 19:53

Evening everyone and welcome to all the new folks.

My tiredness seems to have increased today I am totally wiped out. I have quite a bump already, my friend said to me when I was pregnant with my second, that it is like a balloon it goes up much quicker second time round, so I would imagine it is a lot worse third time around. In saying that I lost a lot of weight recently so that is helping me hide it, I was with a friend today who has not seen me for a while and she thought I was looking fab. I also wonder if I am putting on more weight because I was being very careful before I got pregnant and now I am more relaxed and eating when I am hungry, which is all the time!

LeeHandy · 11/08/2013 19:57

pink, my GP didn't even ask me to come in. I called the surgery and spoke to him and he immediately said, it may or may not be anything serious but I will refer you to an early scan anyway. He said because I am only 7 weeks it will be an internal scan but to do it anyway. So it's probably better to just let the GP know and they will refer you on.

ChocChaffinch · 11/08/2013 20:05

Hello patsy and bodiccea

welcome to the 12 week waiting room!
where your stomach becomes your enemy Sad

so nauseous and thirsty, yet drinking makes me feel sicker..

ChocChaffinch · 11/08/2013 20:13

and I always want my drinks to be absolutely FREEZING cold, even took some ice to bed last night. so weird didn't get any cravings with dd, with ds after I got the HG under control I drank Litres of fresh orange juice.

6+3 today. bloated, thirsty, crippling nausea, sore boobs...

Vikkijayne2507 · 11/08/2013 20:48

I just got home to the UK today and I had some internet cheapie tests and couldnt help myself by use one. I was very happy to see the test line immediately appear before the control line even appeared and was very strong and dark so thats good. Calling doctor first thing in the morning to get the ball rolling

Definitelysometime · 11/08/2013 20:59

I'm 7 weeks today and starting to feel properly rough. No vomiting yet, but constant nausea and (tmi) a few sick-in-mouth moments Envy

The only time I don't feel sick is when I'm either sleeping or eating rubbish. Chips, crisps, cheese, white bread etc. I haven't dared weigh myself but I must be piling it on. I'm going to be huge by the time the first trimester is up.

ChocChaffinch I'm also desperately thirsty All. The. Time.

ChocChaffinch · 11/08/2013 21:09

trying. to hold. in. dinner.

Bodeccia · 11/08/2013 21:23

Horrible for you choc, the waves of nausea I have had I've managed to keep contained by sicking my head out of the window and breathing deep (I have no idea why I did it the first time, it makes no sense). I know all about the thirst thing, last time I developed a real craving for nesquick chocolate that I'd gulp down in a large glass of milk mmmmmm nesquick

I'm calling the clinic tomorrow morning to let them know my bfp. One of the downsides to doing IVF (one of many!) is that you have to use a pessary twice a day until 12 weeks into the pregnancy, so I need to get more prescription for that - joyous! Sorry, that's not exactly going to help the nausea ladies, is it? Hmm

Haven't told anyone yet, I'm just enjoying chatting about it with dh and thinking about dd having a wee bro/sis (or two!)

patsy375 · 12/08/2013 00:35

A new baby and a new house! What an exciting time for you Terry.
Hope all goes well with your scan tomorrow.

boldlittlebird · 12/08/2013 07:43

Hi Misty9, welcome Smile

bunnygoesbang, I'm wavering over when to tell people early too - the problem is that my new job, starting in 2 weeks (eek) is likely to be pretty physical (I'm a stonemason, ridiculous job for a pg woman) and I'm worrying over how to deal with it. If I tell my new boss, he'll necessarily have to tell the other guy who works for him - there's only going to be three of us so he'll need to know why I can't help with heavy lifting - and that guy is 19, knows a bunch of other masons locally (who all know me) and is unlikely to keep quiet about it.

So, thinking it might be better to get an early scan (to tell me whether I'm OK to announce), then tell pretty much everyone. That way I can tell my new boss whenever I want, and won't have to make up excuses or do anything risky at work.

Sorry, I know that's not much help in your decision Smile I guess what I'm saying is that I might do the same as you're thinking.

Fairypants · 12/08/2013 07:53

Morning all, hi misty (waves).
I'm 5 weeks today and so far no nausea to speak of [fingers crossed emoticon].
Dd2 will not believe that I don't have a bump yet and that it really is just a fat tummy Confused (I have put on a bit of weight recently). I wonder what she will have to say when there is a real bump. Smile

cookielove · 12/08/2013 08:08

Morning all :)

I am same as choc in that I am 6+3 but no sickness as of yet although I have felt sick quite a lot and tooth paste is my biggest nemsis :D

runninggirl85 · 12/08/2013 08:17

I think I am in this group too although not totally sure. I think I am about 6 weeks but can't be sure as my periods are irregular, currently done three pregnancy tests, all positive , but now I'm worried as my boobs are no longer sore..thought I'd be pleased but instead im worried!

Eek. Anyway, completely new to all this so just thought id say hello :-) xx

bunnygoesbang · 12/08/2013 09:29

Boldlittlebird it does sound like you will need to. It did help I think we are just going to go for it once the scan has happened.
Midwife appointment booked for next week it's all getting real yey
Trying to focus on the positives and not obsess about ectopic

Morning! I just had my early scan and am relieved to report that everything seems normal and I could see the heart beat movement. According to the size, I am apparently only 6 weeks pregnant but am not sure which one they actually take into account LMP or size.
I realised that it is not normal to have pain! I just thought it's part of the process but they all seemed more concerned about that than the spotting. The technician said that I ovulated from both ovaries and that accounts for the pain but I don't understand that at all. Anyways, am off to consult Dr. Google now. Smile

EverthingcrossedforApril14 · 12/08/2013 10:37

That is brilliant Lee, am sure it made it very real. I was excited to hear that you saw a heart beat as I am six weeks tomorrow so I was thinking my bean could have a wee heart beating away at the moment.

Runninggirl85 welcome and congrats, I think symptoms seem to come and go, so not to worry, try to enjoy it as when they return it may be quite bad. All very easy for me to say when it is my third pregnancy but if it is any consolation I still very about everything i.e. having symptoms, no symptoms! I just tell myself, I am still pregnant today and am going to enjoy it!
