hugshugs · 09/08/2013 21:27

Hi,

Can I come and join?! I thought I was 7+3 but it turns out I am more like 6+3. Just put the dates into the due date calculator and it comes out as April 1st ... uh oh!!!

I went for an early scan today (hence changing the dates) and saw a little heartbeat, so it is all true at the moment! (As if the constant nausea, need to buy new bras, frequent afternoon naps and mayhem skin didn't give it away!!!)

Hope you're all surviving this tiring time :)

ThedementedPenguin · 09/08/2013 21:44

Hello I'm back. I actually forgot about this thread I've been so busy.

Congrats to everyone on this thread.

I'm sorry to hear about all the sickness I'm dreading it.

So I'm 6 weeks tomorrow and other than a bit of tiredness I don't feel any different. Which I'm finding totally strange, with my first I was feeling sick and practically asleep 24/7 before I tested.

I would LOVE an early scan but I don't think I'll get one.

Hope everyone is having a quiet night.

greentshirt · 09/08/2013 23:51

Hi hugs

I'm reassured that you could see a heartbeat at 6 weeks, I think I might be able to have an early scan at 6+4 but was debating with myself whether it's too early and will it make the worrying worse if there's no heartbeat yet. At that point how can they tell if there's cause for concern?

BartBaby · 10/08/2013 07:04

Hello newbies Smile im 5+4 today so it sounds like there is a few of us the same.

Im really struggling this morning. So unbelievably tired and totally drained. Could spend the whole day in bed! But instead I'm up watching peppa pig with ds so at least I'm getting a nice cuddle Smile

Ninunina · 10/08/2013 07:11

How exciting hugs! I think your the first one to have a scan. It's very good that you already saw a heartbeat. Part of me is regretting moving my scan to 7+5 weeks from 6+3 now, but I'd kill myself with sorry if I didn't see a hb though.

LeeHandy · 10/08/2013 07:42

hugs, it's so wonderful you could see a heart beat that early.
I hope I can see one as well on Monday.
welcome newbies! we should really get organised and make a stats thread. I will get down to it this morning.
choc that sounds really rough. Since you know you were that badly off last time, maybe you can get some medication before you end up in hospital? But if you can keep McDs down, it may not be that bad this time and McDs does cover all the food groups! Wink

Jomouse · 10/08/2013 07:50

Hi everyone!
EDD 16th April.
This will be my second baby and second pregnancy. I'm pretty geriatric (38 today...) so hoping nothing goes wrong.
Wishing you all happy and healthy pregnancies.
Celebrating my birthday tonight with 20 friends is going to be a DEAD giveaway...

EverthingcrossedforApril14 · 10/08/2013 08:12

Morning everyone,

Hope you are well and tolerating the longest wait, 5 + 4 today! Congrats and welcome to the new people and that is fab Hugs that you saw a HB, amazing!

Anyone have any thoughts on the (I think it is called ) Swaying method re: gender of the baby? My friend has had two daughters and she was using the CBFM, with both she had sex only once a few days before ovulation. I think the principle is that male sperm get to the egg fastest but die quicker and female sperm are slower to get to egg but live longer, hence if you have sex and it is at the same time as ovulation or within 12 hours it will be more likely to be a boy if there is a space of a few days then more likely to be a girl. When we were trying to conceive DD we DTD all the time and with DS I was breast feeding and it happened so not sure in that case. Any thoughts?

I got my first scan date for 30th of April I will be 8 + 3, they said they would send for me when I was 9 weeks so they may have done the maths wrong but not complaining! xo

BartBaby · 10/08/2013 08:32

Hi everythingcrossed yes I've heard of a similar method. I correctly predicted my friend would be having a boy as she only dtd once on the day of ov. Although we dtd on the 14th, and I will have ov on the 15th (or possibly the 16th) so that still gives enough time for the boy and girl swimmers both to get there before ov. But it's not early enough that the boy swimmers would have dies off yet. So I really have no ideas with mine!

Ninunina · 10/08/2013 08:54

I agree we need some stats! I'd offer to do it but I generally post from my phone .
How shall we do it? What stats shall we post? name, no of children, due date, next scan date?

With regards to girls or boys, it's impossible to say in my case since we dtd before, during and after ovulation. I'm guessing a boy this time though (and secretly want boy girl twins)

EverthingcrossedforApril14 · 10/08/2013 08:58

It is interesting, I DTD once on the 14th of July, was using CBFM but only got 9 days of HF no egg symbol so could have ov at any point so that is clear as mud, it will either be a girl or boy!

I think the composition of the male sperm can determine, I think men can naturally have more male or more female so that would be a factor also!

LeeHandy · 10/08/2013 09:11

happy birthday jomouse!
I've never heard of this method. We dtd before, during, after everyday so I don't know what that means for us. Smile
ninu, I think that should do it, I will poke around on the other threads as well as see what they have.

BartBaby · 10/08/2013 09:54

The past few months we were dtd loads around ov time. And then this month as we were having a bit of a break, just once partly due to the heat aswell I think and hey presto! I'm secretly hoping for a girl as we already have ds. But I think it will be another boy. Just have a feeling. I will be happy with a boy though

greentshirt · 10/08/2013 10:33

I think we were a few days before. Im secretly hoping for a girl too, im too old for hello kitty and barbie now, I need an excuse!

LeeHandy · 10/08/2013 10:44

Alright, I've started a stats thread off for us. I went through the messages and tried to pick out all the stats I could find. Apologies if I've missed someone or made a mistake. You can see the stats thread here
Some of the other threads have ages as well, should we add that?

Vikkijayne2507 · 10/08/2013 11:00

cheers lee I put my stats up there due april 7th but will let you regarding scan date

Vikkijayne2507 · 10/08/2013 11:02

I would secretly love a girl but we dtd 3 timea before ov including night b4 and day of ov so there was little swimmers most of time so could have been any of them

cookielove · 10/08/2013 11:15

Dh had a dream where he was told it was a boy so he is saying boy, he keeps asking what does it feel like to me Hmm it feels like nothing at the moment but I'm saying
girl

boldlittlebird · 10/08/2013 11:19

Dear hormones: What is it about the two hours between 11a.m. and 1? Do you get up late? It seems pointlessly specific of you to make that period, and that period only, queasy. If you must do it, then 5-7 would be more convenient and make my working day easier.
Regards,
Boldlittlebird

Oh dear double post Blush

Trinpy · 10/08/2013 12:18

Morning everyone! Thanks for putting the stats thread up Lee.

I had an awful night last night. Went to bed early due to pregnancy tiredness then was woken up at 3am by some drunk guy screaming and trying to break down our front door. Dh called the police because we were too scared to open the door to him, but luckily a very brave neighbour went out to speak to the man. Turned out he lives on the next street over but was so drunk he got mixed up. He kindly left blood smeared over our front door where he'd punched the frame though. Poor dh got the job of scrubbing it all off this morning. We live in quite a nice area so it was all a bit scary!

Jomouse · 10/08/2013 14:11

Thanks Lee!
Trinpy, that sounds so awful it's like a pregnancy nightmare or something. Poor you!
Similar theme, but in no way as serious...
I heard a mass vomiting session outside our house at 12 ish, got up this morning to check it wasn't on our doorstep or something gross and no vomit, nothing!
I can't have imagined something that odd surely??!
