OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Ninunina · 06/08/2013 20:54

I thought so too Vikki...I'm taking them back to the pharmacy tomorrow. I've been googling and apparently Vit A in the form of Betacarotene is ok, but not in the form of Retinol.
This is my 2nd bart and I have noticed that most of my friends showed very early with their 2nd (6-9weeks), but not 4 weeks Shock

PainAuxRaisins · 06/08/2013 20:56

Re the symptoms - like some others I too was noticing a distinct lack of nausea, pain, boob tenderness etc. and wasn't sure whether to be happy about it or slightly anxious. I'm now 6+5 and can report that for the last 2 days the nausea (or rather 'afternoon sickness') has well and truly kicked in. Ugh. Can't believe there might be another month or two of this (or more if I'm really unlucky). I guess a lot of the symptoms just come and go in waves - I hope those other symptom free people enjoy it while it lasts! DH even had the nerve to complain to me tonight about how tired he's feeling today - I almost bit his head off. He also said about my tummy "It's a good job you're PG otherwise I'd be getting a bit worried about that" !!! (before you all get the wrong impression, he is a lovely bloke but seems to have turned into the World's most tactless person since yesterday....plus my tummy is ridiculously bloated at the moment so he is half right)

Pineapplefreak · 06/08/2013 21:12

ninu mine is too, I'm 5+4 but I know it's just the bloating, last time I was the same, I had what looked like a bump before 12 weeks then it disappeared and I didn't have a real bump to close to 20 weeks. First thing in the morning my stomach is flat, last thing at night I look 5 months at least!

I'm so so tired at the minute too, came home from work yesterday and dozed on the sofa while my 2yo ran amok, there was spaghetti on my head at one stage. Luckily my mum camera over and got him ready for bed and washed the dishes - so glad I told her!! Wink

Definitelysometime · 06/08/2013 21:40

So glad you gals said this - I am so so bloated. It's my first, so no excuse at all. 6 weeks and i look more like 6 months this evening. I actually had a little cry to DH when I came home from work as I feel like I'm getting fat already - yet I can't be arsed to do any exercise. Silly hormones.

Also, does anyone already have constipation? Shock

All I'm all, feeling really attractive right now!

ChocChaffinch · 06/08/2013 21:45

yy pineapple my mum's been v sympathetic since I told her :-)

ChocChaffinch · 06/08/2013 21:45

pregnacare gives me constipation.

cookielove · 06/08/2013 21:52

Those of you who have had babies, will not I get a bump? I already have a wiggly belly will it turn into bump or will I just look fat?

Vikkijayne2507 · 06/08/2013 22:35

im also very bloated and look a bit fat. in the mornings I do have a flat tum but wurh slight rounding at 5 wks 1 day I think its stuff making room I had a few cramps a couple if dats ago which worried me at the time but all seems ok was probably stretching. im on pregnacare doesn't appear to give ne abt issues im aware of. my weeing all the time is annoying tho. ive not told my parents yet and will wait till later. im telling my boss as I do lone working wutg sometimes difficult and stressful situations.

Pineapplefreak · 06/08/2013 22:37

Yep, me definitely woke with it y'day morn then 10mins later had the runs- I am coeliac so well used to bother down there but this is a whole other level. Got probiotics the other day and they really helped, the pain etc but not the actual bloating. I'm eating little and often too which seems to help both the downstairs situation and the sickness.

My mum just can't understand why I'm so tired choc but she knows better than to mention it, I can see her thinking it! I wasn't this tired that last time but a hell of a lot sicker - don't know which was worse!

Can't wait to get to twelve weeks as my bad symptoms disappeared at that time with DS, so I'm hoping the same will happen this time. I'm usually very active but climbing the stairs is a major effort at the minute!!

cookie most people usually get a bump regardless of size before, you may not get much bigger but will probably firm up at least.

LeeHandy · 07/08/2013 07:26

I have definitely got a bit of a tummy. I wore my khakis to work yesterday and it was digging into my stomach all day and making me miserable. I just thought I am getting a bit fat. Shock Good to know that it can be bloating and not my fault at all. Smile

cookielove · 07/08/2013 08:10

I'm a 14 on top just with a bit of tummy!! Annoyingly thats where I hold my weight :(

I still haven't had sickness. Although I am sure it will hit any day now!! I'll enjoy it while I can though!

Cloudstar · 07/08/2013 09:29

I've been trying to think how to describe the weird 'off' sicky feeling of early pg. I came up with that it feels like having swallowed a bar of soap. Just 'urgh'.

cookielove when you get a bump it will be hard, not soft like tummy flab. I speak from experience Smile

cookielove · 07/08/2013 09:36

Thanks for the reassurance cloud and pineapple Smile

KittyKK · 07/08/2013 09:59

Hello ladies. Super happy to be joining this group!

I got my BFP yesterday (10/11 DPO). It worked on our first cycle of TTC, which is astonishing as I'm mid-30's and "slightly polycystic", so DH and I thought we'd be waiting a while Smile

Only 3w5d today, so EDD is a long way away (19th April)!

Booked my first scan for when I'm 5w6d. Didn't realise that there would be even more anxious waiting time after a BFP!

Slightly terrified, as I keep reading about lots of early MCs.

Best wishes to all for happy, healthy pregnancies xxx

BartBaby · 07/08/2013 10:37

cookie yes you will get a nice bump Smile

Welcome kitty are you getting a scan done privately? I bet you cant wait for it Smile i wasnt worried at all with my first ds. Very naive i suppose. More concerned this time though after hearing lots of stories. I blame the advances in the internet! Lol

Well i can say i feel totally bleurgh today! Felt sicky all morning although not actually been sick yet and so tired after getting up with ds i had to 'rest my eyes' while we were watching Cars!

iloveweetos · 07/08/2013 10:41

haha best time to 'rest your eyes'!!

I've got my first appointment tomorrow. Is there anything i should ask? feel like i have no idea!!! I don't remember feeling this anxious and worried about everything last time. I blame naivety too!

KittyKK · 07/08/2013 11:10

Hi BartBaby - thanks for the welcome Thanks

Yes, private scan.....so 2 weeks to worry and stress.

In hindsight, TTC was a bit like a lottery (e.g. What can we do to increase our chances). Now I'm totally out of control.....

Went to Dr earlier for hcg blood test. Got results back from lab quickly (the hcg level is 70.2 at 3w4d). He just said that was in line with timing.

Has anyone else had an hcg blood test yet?

Ninunina · 07/08/2013 12:33

Welcome Kitty! Congratulations on your BFP! Having a first baby is such an exciting time, albeit nerve wrecking. At 3+4 I think that puts your little bean as the youngest of the group Grin.
I haven't done any hCG tests, though I have been POAS religiously every 2 days to make sure the line doubles in darkness. My first scan is booked on the for when I'll be 6+2 but I'm thinking of changing it to 7+5 to make sure I see a heartbeat.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one whose noticed a bit of bloating around the middle. I put on a lot of weight in my first pregnancy and had to work hard to lose it so I'm determined not to put on any extra weight this time.

I just found out 2 of my friends are expecting in April! People announce quite quickly where I live. I feel silly that no one knows, but I might have to say something soon.

Vikkijayne2507 · 07/08/2013 14:27

congrats and welcome kitty. im exhausted today woke up 3 times in the night to use the loo. im stull on holiday at 5 weeks 2 days so dreading going back to work next week at 6 weeks if it stars like this i'll be exhausted 24 7Shock

bunnygoesbang · 07/08/2013 18:30

Hello all hope we are all well as can be. My sickness has settled yey which is great but now I am worried as it didn't last lol. I have a feeling it may return. I had a lot of early symptoms, sickness, huge sore boobs strange taste in mouth but doctor said it was normal for some people to have it early as the body is reacting to sudden huge hormone increase.
As for telling people well my close family friends and colleges all know. Partly as it was such a shock as we were told we couldn't and everyone has been a great support through fertility treatment that didn't work so I wanted to let them know. Also because I have had previous ectopic and miscarriages and I feel it's better for those close to know why you are upset so they can support you.
Everyone's different.
It's not on social media yet lol.
5 weeks 2 days and keeping everything crossed that this little one is meant to be

Pineapplefreak · 07/08/2013 20:20

Congrats kitty!!

I'm sooooooo tired at the minute, had to sneak home from work the last two days to sleep before my toddler came home. Probably felt worse after it too. My mum has had to sort him out for bed tonight as DH is away and I simply couldn't do it. I went up the stairs earlier and had to rest for 5 minutes after it, I used to be fit and active so this is so strange for me.

Got a wedding this weekend and don't know how ill cope!

Have booked docs for Friday afternoon (then ill go home and sleep Wink ) but I'm just wondering do you actually have to see the doctor or are u supposed to just make an appointment with a midwife?

coffeewineandchocolate · 07/08/2013 21:30

hI all. I've been kindly directed to this thread by cookie :-) I got my bfp yesterday- edd 17th April 2014. Doesnt seem quite real yet!

feeling a little lightheaded at the moment, but not sick yet thankfully! Booked in with the gp today :-)

Fairypants · 07/08/2013 21:45

Hi Kitty and CoffeeSmile
I think it varies Pinapple. I know my midwives are based at my surgery so asked the receptionist who has booked me in to see the midwife directly. Unfortunately that means I won't see anyone till 8 weeks at the end of sept. Not that I need to see anyone before then, I'm just being impatient.
I went to Pilates tonight ninu. They said as ive been going more than 12 weeks to carry on at the same level as before for a couple of months then start slowing down. There were a couple of movements she got me to do something different though.

BartBaby · 07/08/2013 22:03

How many weeks are you fairy ? did you mean that you will be 8 weeks when you see them? Or you are seeing them in 8 weeks?

Im seeing the midwife for the booking in appt when im 7 weeks (its normally 8) and will be 12 weeks by the end of sept so will be hoping to have my scan around then.

Fairypants · 08/08/2013 07:16

I meant I will be 8 weeks by the time I see them. I'm expecting to get an appt for a scan at around the end of sept too. I just forgot how slow time moves in early pregnancy.
Dd2 keeps pointing out that I do have a bump already Angry she won't believe me when I tell her that's just by fat belly! You'd think she'd be more polite at 10 wouldn't you- she's just desperate for something baby related to happen too.
